Dreaming of Daffodils …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Saturday to you! Yesterday I share a fun technique that highlighted the New Horizons Designer paper … and, I added a little treat to one of the cards, the daffodil bud. Today I want to share a card that highlights the beautiful die cut daffodils.

I am highlighting two different designs from the designer paper on today’s card. One as a background, the other as a back drop to the daffodils ….

MEASUREMENTS ….

  • Mossy Meadow Cardstock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ fold in half for base / and 4-1/8″ x 2-7/8″ mat plus you will need to cut 3 stems and 3 leaves from Mossy Meadow scraps.
  • Design for background: 5-1/4″ x 4″ / Pattern with Hearts: 4-1/4″ x 3″
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock for petals
  • Crushed Curry for trumpets and bud.
  • Very Vanilla: 5-1/4″ x 4″ for inside / and 3-1/8″ x 1/2″ for greeting.

I used snipets and scraps of the Daffodil Delight and the Crushed Curry to create my daffodils. Here is a layout of the daffodil assembly ….

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I thought sharing your cut pieces and then how they are layered to create the daffodil. I also used my Stampin’ Blends to add another layer of color to the floral pieces.

The greeting is stamped onto the strip of vanilla with Old Olive ink and then I trimmed the points off the ends of my cardtock to give it a softer touch, then I added the In Color Jewels to anchor it … and add a little bling!! Wait to you see how beautiful the layering is …

The dimension on this card just brings it to life and create a beautiful bouquet of tulips. The designer paper really play into the entire design.

Thank you for joining me today.

Enjoy your Saturday ~

Die Cut Daffodils in White …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you had a wonderful weekend … Today I have some “wonderful” cards to share with you. Both of these cards will highlight the daffodil dies from our Daffodil Daydream bundle.

Not only do these dies cut out the pretty stamped daffodil images but you can die cut pieces and assemble a stunning flower!

The Daffodil Daydream Bundle—which includes the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set and Daffodil Dies—is one of my favorite floral products from the January–June 2022 Mini Catalog. With line-art images ideal for coloring, accent stamps for artistic flair, and pieces to build a paper bouquet, this beautiful bundle is essential for Easter, Mother’s Day, and any other special celebration throughout the year!

By die cutting the daffodil pieces, you can layer them together and create a beautiful daffodil that will add so much texture and depth to your card. The background is stamped with the design element stamp included in the bundle, as is the greeting.

The second card stuns with an all with daffodil and a color popping backdrop. The colorful background is created by adhering strips of designer paper diagonally onto a piece of cardstock before die cutting it… this die comes from the Ornate Layers dies. The designer papers are from the Neutrals & Brights 6 x 6 Collection.

The color piece is then placed onto a Basic White tag which was punched with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and then decked out with the Flirty Flamingo Metallic Ribbon. And you cannot miss my favorites … the Elegant Faceted Gems.

I just love discovering and sharing different ways for you to use your stamp sets and dies. I hope you have enjoyed the different styles of cards the past few days.

Thank you for stopping in today ~

Enjoy your day.

Simply Sunday: Simply Daffodils Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing a simple card, simple to make because the designer paper is doing all the work! I’ve been sharing card samples from the Daffodil Daydream bundle …

The designer paper I’m using today coordinates with our daffodil bundle and has so many pretty patterns….. And it is FREE! It is one of the many wonderful rewards during our Sale-a-bration celebration!

You can add a touch of gentle elegance with the Daffodil Afternoon 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Imagery in the pattern paper includes soft spring blooms of daisies, poppies, and daffodils. Paper includes a mix of larger blooms and greenery that can be fussy-cut to create paper elements and repeating patterns for card fronts or layers.

The jewel tone colors of the paper will elevate your homemade cards to a new level of sophistication. Add stamped images, greetings, and die-cut elements with the coordinating Daffodil Daydream Bundle. Actually … all I did was add some Wink of Stella, some rhinestones and a greeting! Simply gorgeous.

The greeting comes from one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets; Lovely You stamp set. I stamped my “just because” onto a piece of the designer paper that was trimmed off the top. Once stamped I used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to give the ends a pretty upgrade!

Each one of the little flowers on the designer paper and the greeting tag were embellished with the 2021-23 In-Color Jewels. The Wink of Stella was added to each of the white blossoms.

The designer paper is so pretty, all I did was add a little bling … can’t get any simpler than that to create a pretty card.

If you would like this bundle, just click on the link and it will take you to my store. With the purchase of the Daffodil Daydream bundle … you earn a FREE Sale-a-bration item; could it be the Daffodil Afternoon 12 x 12 Designer paper?

Thank you for taking time out of your Sunday to join me. Go Pack!

Expressions & Daffodils Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Woo Hooo … the weekend is finally here and so is another fab card share from the Daffodil Daydream bundle. Are you enjoying it so far? Today’s card highlights our daffodils and I teamed it up with the stunning Expressions in Ink Designer paper. I am really excited to share this card with you today ….

The daffodil look so pretty against this designer paper. I have a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Gold Foil mat behind the designer paper and the daffodils to make the “golds” pop on this card. I die cut the daffodil mat from the center of my main mat … paper saving!

Now let’s get down to the flowers… they are stamped with VersaMark on Basic White cardstock and heat embossed with gold. Once embossed, I knew I wanted to leave the outer petals white and the trumpet yellow. I used the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to lay the base of color, then I added some of the Dark Daffodil Delight.

To give more depth to the trumpet I added just a hint of Light Pumpkin Pie … then blended it again with the Light Daffodil Delight. I used Stampin’ Blends to color so it had that “watercolor” look that is highlighted in the Expressions in Ink Designer Paper. The stems and leaves were blended the same way using the Old Olive Combo pack, and the Light Soft Succulent. The Soft Succulent added the “bluish-green” tints you see in the designer paper.

To finish off my flowers I added Wink of Stella to the white petals … you can see it in the photos but it is even more stunning to they eye!

My greeting is stamped in Old Olive and comes from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set. I tied my bouquet and greeting together with the beautiful Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon…. another reason I added the Soft Succulent to the greenery on this card. I finished it off with the Gilded Gems, wow … that really ties the entire card together and adds even more dimension and texture. Love it!

If you would like to purchase this bundle, or learn more about it, just click on the links at the bottom of my blog. If you need a catalog … please let me know.

Thanks for joining me today.

A Daffodil Card & Tutorial …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared the cute daffodil card with the soft background created with the blending brushes …

Today I’d like to share another simple card (also with the blending brushes) and a video to show you how this bundle coordinates so beautifully and how you can earn the Designer Paper FREE!! Let’s kick back a moment and check out the video ….What do you think of that?

MOTHERS DAY CARD:

  1. Before you start stamping, cut the following paper pieces:
    • 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (14 x 21.6 cm) from Calypso Coral Cardstock
    • 3″ x 3-1/2″ (7.6 x 8.9 cm) from Calypso Coral Cardstock
    • 3″ x 3″ (7.6 x 7.6 cm) from Basic White Cardstock
  2. On the center of the 3″ x 3″ (7.6 x 7.6 cm) Basic White piece, stamp the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  3. Pick out both butterfly dies from the Daffodil Dies. Place them on a sticky note, then run them through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut. (Either of our machines will work.) These will be the masks you use to try the masking technique!
  4. Once cut, place each die-cut butterfly over parts of the stamped sentiment. Using a Blending Brush, gently apply Daffodil Delight ink in a circular motion over and around the sentiment. When done, remove the butterfly sticky notes to reveal white butterfly shapes!
  5. Create the card base by folding the 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (14 x 21.6 cm) Calypso Coral piece in half and scoring at 4-1/4″ (10.8 cm). Stamp the set’s butterfly stamp in Calypso Coral ink a few times onto each corner of the card base, then add a few Brushed Brass Butterflies.
  6. Rip the top and bottom of the Basic White piece upwards to create a unique
textured look, then adhere to the center of the 3″ x 3-1/2″ (7.6 x 8.9 cm) Calypso
Coral piece. To complete the card, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the
3″ x 3-1/2″ (7.6 x 8.9 cm) Calypso Coral piece to the center of the card base!

Daffodil Daydream: Easter Blessings Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share a pretty twist to the Daffodil Daydream stamp set as we turn it into an Easter Card. Not only will you see the sample of this pretty card, but you’ll get step by step instructions. This soft and sweet card comes direct from Stampin’ Up!

1. Before you start stamping, cut the following paper pieces:
• 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (21.6 x 14 cm) from Pool Party Cardstock
• 3-1/2″ x 5″ (8.9 x 12.7 cm) from Pool Party Cardstock
• 2-1/2″ x 4″ (6.4 x 10.2 cm) from Basic White Cardstock
• 2″ x 3/4″ (5.1 x 1.9 cm) from Basic White Cardstock

2. On the center of the 2-1/2″ x 4″ (6.4 x 10.2 cm) Basic White piece, stamp the single daffodil image from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Repeat this step, stamping onto a sticky note. This will be the mask you use to try the masking technique!

3. From the Daffodil Dies, pick the die that coordinates with the single daffodil image. Align the die with the daffodil stamped on the sticky note and run it through a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut. (Either of our machines will work.)

4. Stick the die-cut daffodil on top of the daffodil stamped on Basic White Cardstock. Using a Blending Brush, gently apply Daffodil Delight ink in a circular motion over and around the daffodil. When done, remove the sticky note from the daffodil.

5. With Calypso Coral ink, stamp the set’s “Easter Blessings” sentiment onto the 2″ x 3/4″ (5.1 x 1.9 cm) Basic White piece. Create the card base by folding the 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (21.6 x 14 cm) Pool Party piece in half and scoring at 4-1/4″ (10.8 cm), then use Stampin’ Dimensionals® to adhere the 3-1/2″ x 5″ (8.9 x 12.7 cm) Pool Party piece to the center of the card base. Adhere the remaining pieces to the card front, then embellish with a few Brushed Brass Butterflies!

I hope you enjoyed this pretty card with it’s soft and sweet simplicity. I fell in love with this bundle so keep an eye out for even more samples!

I thank you for joining me today. Enjoy ~
