Learn How to Create Watercolor Pansies

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m here today with these stunning Pansies!! I am so excited to share this with you today … I have combined an old technique with our new Pansy Petals and the results are stunning!

I have created a video for you from a past Facebook LIVE so you can watch step by step how I created these beautiful flowers so you can recreate this too…. They almost look real don’t they?

Isn’t that cool … I am in love with this technique! I loved it when I made pansies from the butterfly punch but these are so much more realistic!! It creates so much texture and depth when you “scrunch” your petals.

Those little white specs you see are actually the “shimmer” paper making a statement! It really is so pretty and you can do these in any color you’d like! Here is my inspiration to create these amazing pansies ….

Here is another card I made with the other colors of petals that I was experimenting with ….

Not bad for a 2 minute card!! I used the Pansy Petals Designer paper for my background and just added the flowers and my greeting … simple!

I said I was going to share my “inspiration pansy” with you today but I’m saving it for tomorrow … along with another card!! You won’t be disappointed. Thanks for stopping by today!

Hope your day is an awesome one ~

Parade of Pansies …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have several cards to share with you today … I have some quick & simple pansy cards that highlight Pansy Petal Bundle and the Pansy Petals Designer paper …

I’m using the Gorgeous Grape from the Ombre Specialty Paper … To view the original post to see how I created the “punched” tag, CLICK HERE.

Then I showed how easy it was to use the layering of the pansy images to create pretty hand stamped pansies ….

Many of you have used Two-Step stamp sets, and the Pansy stamps are no different. They are designed to layer color to create a beautiful flower. CLICK HERE to view the entire post.

Now I’d like to share another card that also highlights the designer paper, but also the dies… because these dies actually are designed to not only cut your stamped images but the images on the designer paper …

The cute pansy and leaves above were cut from the Pansy Petals Designer paper. They are layered on a piece of Basic White embossed with the “Greenery” Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Blackberry Bliss … these are layered onto more Basic White that was embossed with the “Tasteful Texture” embossing folder. The embossing added some nice texture to the card.

If you like texture on your flower, then you’ll love the layered die cuts to create you pansy …

The dies not only cut but they emboss as well … amazing!! The layering of the die cuts gives you some fun texture on your cards, but that didn’t stop me from embossing the background with the “Painted Texture” embossing folder! I also added the cute little Elegant Faceted Gems to draw your eye around the card.

I have fallen in love with this suite, join me tomorrow and I’ll share a video of the watercoloring technique demonstrating how to create this amazing pansy ….

The Pansies are part of our March Savings promotion … if you have them or not, I hope I inspired you and brightened your day with this pretty flowers.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me for a spell today.

I hope your day is a beautiful one!!

Hello & Thank You Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Oh yes … I was AWOL the past 2 days, I was doing some personal training for my stamping business! It’s amazing how much free training there is out there, but a box of goodies came so I just had to play!! So I made 2 quick cards that I would like to share with you today.”

I was intrigued by the new “Thanks & Hello” Embossing Folder so I added it to my order this past week and wanted to try that first. As promised I will be using some more of the designer papers. My first card was actually embossed twice ….

The folder is “not” full size so I had to run it through the emboss machine twice, but with the guide line on the folder, it makes it easy to align and get it through straight. It embosses to clean and clear … I love it!! Using the “Hello” folder really makes for a quick card.

I added a strip of the Pansy Petals Designer paper and added a bow using the White Seam Binding Ribbon … then I had to add a little pop of color to all the white, so I used the Fresh Flower Flourishes that coordinate with the Fresh Freesia designer paper and card base.

Simple … yes, but oh so cute! Well … I couldn’t stop there because there are 2 embossing folders in the package!! So I decided to see how it would look on colored cardstock, and what better color to use than the beautiful Misty Moonlight.

I teamed my Misty Moonlight with the Hand-Penned Designer Series paper and decided to emboss this “landscape” position verses the “portrait” that we used above ….

The folders create such a deep textured embossed imagery that there is no need for greetings … in fact, the embossing says it all, and in many different languages. I also added the same ribbon but used the Elegant Faceted Gems for a little bling, bling!

I thought you would like to see how the same supplies look with the two different layouts …

So … What do you think? Nice right!? These little beauties are only $8.00 which makes them a great stocking stuffer … yes, I know Christmas is a few months off, but I also know that many of you are looking for ideas for your crafters.

Thank you for stopping by, have yourself a wonderful day.

Starburst Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am here today to “shock” anyone who has been stamping with me for a while, whether in classes, clubs or retreats!! These stampers know I like to demo my cards and then “surprise” them with the outcome … well, I have been changing my ways!

Today, I’m going to share a “Starburst” card that I created as a “teaser” to my Technique Tuesday Facebook LIVE Tonight! I will show you step-by-step how to create this card shown (but with different designer paper) and then another with a little bit different pattern!

I’m using the Pansy Petals Designer Paper on this Starburst card and used the beautiful Fresh Freesia cardstock and ink to highlight the designer paper.

I cut out the big pansy from another one of the designs to add some additional dimension to the card and popped a pretty little gem in the center.

If you stop back here tomorrow I will also be sharing the paper dimensions with you!

I hope you join me tonight on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page for my Technique Tuesday LIVE demonstration. Then I’ll meet you back here tomorrow for the dimensions!!

Thank you for stopping by … See you tonight!!

Split Card Technique 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am here today with another video and two card samples for you today! I’m showcasing the Split Card Technique, but with a twist!! These fun cards are quite simple to make as you’ll see in the video … I will also be sharing my measurements and tips with you.

Thank you for joining me, sit back relax and enjoy … My first card is simple and straight to the point, a Sympathy card. I chose the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. My twist on these cards is that the designer paper will “peek” through the cardstock!

I’m using Early Espresso for my card base and my tree and then my “split” piece is Mossy Meadow. My designer paper and “split” cardstock are both layered onto a piece of Basic White … this makes it a little sturdier and allows the little touch of white to show through (you can hide it if you prefer) I think it helps to showcase the designer paper by bringing the white out in the designer paper.

The greeting is from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso…. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the Mossy Meadow pieces which gives our “split” added dimension, it also create a cool effect when you glue your tree between the two layers.

Card Dimensions ….

  • Early Espresso Card base: 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
  • Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Mossy Meadow: 4″ x 4″ *Cut approx. 3″ down on left side and 1″ from top on right side. Watch the video to see an easy way to measure this piece!
  • Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper: 4″ x 4″… no waste! You’ll get 9 cards from 1 sheet of 12 x 12 Designer paper!!
  • Early Espresso for the die cut tree
  • Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ for this inside of the card.

My next card is done in the horizontal / landscape layout and highlights the Pansy Petals Designer paper and allows for more of the designer paper to show through …

This card uses a full background of paper and a smaller split piece to show more designer paper off. I will post the dimensions below for this card as well. Our base is Blackberry Bliss and my “split” piece is Basic White.

My greeting comes from the Lovely You stamp set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss … then you will emboss your piece with the Tasteful Textile 3-D Embossing Folder. Now we cut! On this one we’re cutting from corner to corner (even though I demonstrated differently in the video …. sorry!!) These pieces were also “popped” up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and applied to the front of your card leaving a border around the edges and a split in the middle.

The sweet pansies were die cut from another pattern of the Pansy Petals Designer Series paper, and then I used the In-Color Jewels to embellish my flowers and greeting.

Card Dimensions ….

  • Blackberry Bliss Card base: 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
  • Pansy Petals Designer Paper: 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • Basic White (for split): 3-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ (this allow for the frame around the outside)
  • Basic White: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (for the inside of your card)

Now … join me in watching the replay of my Technique Tuesday Facebook LIVE from 7/6/2021

Thanks again for joining me today! Let me know if you have any questions on the cards and /or video. I’d love to hear what you think about this technique!

Have an amazing day ~

Drapery Fold Technique: Pansy Petals

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’ve got so much to share with you today! First, one of my favorite “Fold” techniques with two cards and a video! Plus, I’m using the Pansy Petals Designer Series paper that goes on sale tomorrow.

But before that starts I have one last reminder …. TODAY is the Last Day to purchase from the Jan – June Mini Catalog. CLICK HERE TO VIEW Save up to 50% on select items.

Sometimes we forget about Fun Folds or Techniques we used years ago but I have no problem bringing back the great ones, and the Drapery Fold card is one of those, and I’ve combined it with the Pansy Petals Designer Series paper ….

There are different dimensions for this fold out in the crafting world (I’ll share another with you tomorrow) Today I’m going to share the “full card” dimensions for the drapery fold. You’ll begin with a 11-1/2″ x 4″ piece of designer paper, then score at 3″ – 4″ – 6″ – 7″ – 9″ and 10″.

You will “cut” your paper from the bottom of the 3″ score line to approximately 1″ from the top of the right side of your designer paper. Your adhesive goes on 1″ folds (as shown in the video). DON’T throw away that piece you cut off …. because I’ll show you how to make a card with it ….

The layout of your drapery fold for the piece you cut off depends on the design … we had to make sure our daisies were facing the proper direction. With that being said, I added my adhesive and mounted it onto a piece of 3″ x 3″ white piece of cardstock… the Evening Evergreen mat is 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″.

The pretty stripped background paper also comes from the Pansy Petals designer series paper, as does the cute little pansy I used to embellish my card. Now let’s check out that video ….

The video is from my Facebook LIVE last night … I hope you join me next Tuesday at 6:30 pm Central Time. It’s so much fun sharing; I just loved Beth’s idea of turning the small leftover piece into a gift tag! We learn more when we share our ideas, and my stampin’ friends inspire me all the time.

Just a few reminders before I go … Tomorrow is the LAST DAY for the Mini Catalog and then our Designer Paper Sale begins on Thursday, July 1st!

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today, and checking out my blog.

Have a wonderful day ~

I have fallen in love with this suite, but the watercoloring technique I shared yesterday just took it to the next level ….

and here is the flower that inspired me…

I use nature a lot for inspiration in my stamping, especially for a true color pallet … this pansy inspired me to add the “ruffled” look to my die cut flower.

I announced yesterday that anyone who purchases the Pansy Patch Bundle before the end of June, will receive a special gift from me!! All you have to do is purchase, Stampin’ Up! will send me a notification … just make sure you choose me as your demonstrator … thank you.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me for a spell today. I hope your day is a beautiful one!!

Pansy Petals & Ombre Specialty Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How was your weekend? Hope you got a chance to enjoy it, no matter what you chose to do. Today I’d like to share a closer look at one of the cards I introduced you to in yesterday’s video. I’m using the beautiful Pansy Petals designer paper and teaming it up with the sparkly New Ombre Specialty paper …

I cut a 3″ x 3″ pansy pattern from the Pansy Petals Designer paper and added a Basic White mat … coordinates with the card base.

Between this is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Ombre Specialty paper. I cut a piece from the upper corner of the Gorgeous Grape and it coordinates nicely with our designer paper.

Now … the greeting!! I used the new Elegant Tag punch and punched both ends of my cardstock to create a unique and elegant tag. I added a clear gem from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack to “anchor” my tag.

So what do you think about the pretty Ombre Specialty paper? It includes 4 – 12″ x 12″ Sheets (one each of 4 colors: Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, Night of Navy and Poppy Parade.

I’ll be sharing more tomorrow of these cute Pansies!! Be sure to join me at Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page on Tuesday as I’ll be taking these pansies you another level … we begin at 6:30pm.

Thank you for visiting with me today. I hope your day is a good one ~
