Guest Stamper: Kathie with Peaceful Deer …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Look what I found! With my Holiday Stamping Retreat coming up quickly, I thought it would be fun to re-share this cute swap card. The swap is held for our attendee’s just for fun (and a $30 Gift Certificate) to the winner. These ladies never fail to impress … I love to see the different styles, and everyone goes home with even more cards!!

My Guest Stamper is Kathie D. who highlights the Peaceful Deer Bundle. Kathie did a beautiful job showcasing the both the stamp set and the punch.

I love that has Kathie stamped directly onto the designer paper … it gives the card visual depth.

She created more depth and texture with the stamped images that were punched out. The greeting was die cut and has the stitched look for additional texture. Let’s not forget the pop of color from not only the tree’s but the mat behind the designer paper.

Kathie’s card not only makes a beautiful Christmas card but would make a perfect Birthday card as well.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Enjoy your Monday ~

Peaceful Deer Card Tutorial

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share a special birthday card, a card I created using the Beauty of the Earth Designer paper and the deer from the Peaceful Deer Bundle. I recently joined a group of demonstrators that create and share cards … this is the one that I shared with our group.

We also share instructions and a supply list. Nice thing about this group … I will be able to share cards with you that were created by my stampin’ demonstrator friends, so you’ll see different styles and ideas, and isn’t that what we all seek … ideas!

Measurements:

  • Card Base: Basic White  5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored & folded at 4-1/4″ & 2” x 2” (greeting)
  • Cardstock #2: Night of Navy: 5-1/4” x 4” (Mat for Designer Paper) & 2” x 2” Circle
  • Cardstock #3 Scrap for deer
  • Designer Paper: 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″
  • Cardstock #4: Night of Navy: 5-1/4” x 4” (Inside Mat)
  • Cardstock #5: Basic White: 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” (Inside for writing)
  • Designer Paper Strip: 5″ x 1/2″ décor for inside

Instructions:

  • Die cut 2” x 2” Night of Navy piece with slightly larger Layer Circle Die … attach together.
  • Stamp resting deer with Momento Ink on a scrap piece of Basic White.
  • Color Deer with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut.
  • Use the Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends (Dark) and dye your White Seam Binding … Let Dry.
  • Layer the 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ Beauty of the Earth Designer paper over Night of Navy mat and secure.
  • Attach the ribbon that you have dyed to the bottom portion of the cardfront
  • Snip off the bottom of the greeting layers and tuck behind the ribbon.  I did not pop this up.
  • Using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals pop up the deer and position it on the left side of the greeting.
  • Using Stampin’ dimensionals, attach the assembled card front to your base.
  • For the inside of the card, adhere strip of designer paper on the left side of the Basic White.
  • Attach Basic White piece to your Night of Navy and secure to the inside flap of your card.

I hope this card tutorial inspires you to begin making all occasion cards. Can you image using all of your amazing designer papers for different looks … Have fun with this layout, it’s simple yet highlights the birthday greeting for the receiver of the card.

Thank you for stopping by today to check out my post. Give it a LIKE at the bottom or leave a comment … it is welcomed and greatly appreciated. It also helps others find this blog.

Enhance Designer Papers with Embossing Paste

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’ve been asked several times lately how I created the snowflakes on my Gingerbread & Peppermint Christmas Card sooooo … I thought I would just show you.

The cards were demonstrated on my Facebook LIVE … where I shared how you can enhance your designer papers using Embossing Paste and the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks. I figured the masks were in the Gingerbread & Peppermint suite for a reason … so that is where I started!

I also wanted to show you that some of the masks line up pretty nice with some of our other designer papers. Here I used the Peaceful Deer bundle and the Peaceful Prints Designer paper from the Sale-a-bration Catalog … I know many of you picked this paper! 🙂

Now join me and watch the video as I show you how easy it is to create these cards! Then I will be sharing the card where I used the Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper!!

I am thrilled to share my next card with you!! I feel in love with the “Angels of Peace” stamp set the moment I saw it. She is so lovely and delicate and these angels can be used for so many different occasions …

The sentiment “Sometimes angels are just good people with kind hearts”… is the second reason I had to have this stamp set. The water washed background of the Beauty of the Earth designer paper was the perfect background for the snowflake mask and the Sparkling Embossing Paste…. and the angel was meant to go with them.

I stamped my angel in Night of Navy and then gently used the Wink of Stella to add some some sparkle to her. I was VERY careful on the wings as I wanted them mostly white, and the wetness of the Stella will smear the Night of Navy ink. On the other hand … I used the Wink of Stella to pull some of the color out of the lines and into her dress to give it that soft blue look.

The greeting was also stamped in Night of Navy and then cut out using the Layering Circle Dies. I also cut a Night of Navy mat to coordinate with her dress and the card base. It all flows so nicely and completes the card.

This angle of the photo is to show you the beautiful texture on this card!! The sparkle in the snowflakes is accented by the Wink of Stella on our Angel. One of my favorite cards that I ahve made in a while!

I want to thank you for joining me today. Don’t forget I’m going LIVE tonight at 6:30 Central Time … You won’t want to miss this cute Holiday Idea!

Have a beautiful day, and take good care ~

Simple Sunday: Christmas Deer

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

We just kicked back to welcome autumn in with it’s warm days, cool nights and stunning colors and then got a major jolt when “this” was announced …. YIKES!

Are you ready? If you are looking for a quick & easy card to make this holiday season this could be exactly what you are looking for …. And the Designer Paper is FREE!

We begin with this limited time offer Peaceful Prints Designer Paper as our background. This paper is just one of the items you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase! The red plaid with white snowflakes such a fun holiday print, and just one of many “merry” patterns.

Here is the entire packet of the Peaceful Prints Designer Series paper …

I chose to compliment this designer paper with a pop of Basic Black in the form of a banner and the card base. Another banner was added in Basic White to stamp our greeting.

I used the Shimmer Snowflake to draw your eye to the focal point … our deer! The deer uses the coordinating punch and Peaceful Printed designer paper. That’s right, the deer is punched from the designer paper …

This cute card is easy to make and you’ll love saving money on your cards this year because the Peaceful Prints designer paper is FREE! I have a list of ingredients below for you.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing a part of your Sunday with me.

Peaceful Deer to Kick-Off the New Mini Catalog!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Oh WOW … It’s an exciting day today!! We are kicking off the New Aug.-Dec. Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration 2 … and I’m using the fabulous Peaceful Deer Bundle and the Peaceful Prints Designer Series paper from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog!

I also invite you to join me tonight for my Facebook LIVE … you know I’ll be working with some new products and a fun twist to our Embossing Paste! I go LIVE on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page at 6:30 pm.

I’m excited to share this card with you today … I have to say, it was hard to choose what suite/bundle I would use first. I think the Peaceful Deer is a good one …

First let me say … the greeting could easily be changed from Merry Christmas to Happy Birthday. I love stamp sets and paper that can be used for more than their proposed purpose. The greeting is embossed with white along with the snowflakes, both from the Peaceful Deer stamp set.

The deer was punched from the coordinating Deer Builder Punch from the Peaceful Prints Designer paper … this is a Sale-a-bration item and is FREE with a $50 purchase. The designer paper was designed to coordinate with the bundle … YIPPEE!!

My card base is Basic Black and Basic White for the mat behind the embossed black … there is another piece of white on the inside of course and a strip of this designer paper.

I popped up the greeting piece and my punched deer.

A simple card today … but you know I have so much more in store for you this week as we “Launch this catalog” and party all weekend!!
