Bunnies, Banners, and Baskets

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have to share with you some over the top creative projects for Easter! As a demonstrator … we have endless so many places we can find inspiration, and then tweek it to our style, however, there are some times when I just have to share the original project and today is that day!

These cute projects were designed by Jessica Williams on our Artisan Design Team 2015–2016. The following is Jessica’s blog post from the Stampin’ Up! Get Inspired blog, and I am inspired by Jessica.

Bunnies, Banners, and Baskets

Are you someone who likes to add a little creativity to each and every holiday occasion? I love to make little projects for gifting and decorating—and Easter is no exception! This year, I’ve created a sweet banner and a couple of different baskets for gifts and egg hunting.

Make the base pieces of the banner by cutting Kraft 12″ x 12″ Cardstock (item 133674) and Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (item 140557) to 4″ x 6″, then cut the bottom of each piece into a banner shape. Next, trim the upper layer. (I took about 3/8″ or 1 cm off each side.) Create the bunny silhouette using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies (item 130911) and the small leaf shape from the Flower Fair Framelits Dies (item 133731).

Start by lining up the larger circle where you’d like the bunny body to be and use the Big Shot (item 113439) to cut. Next, put the smaller circle in place for the head and cut. Lastly, line up and cut one ear at a time. You can make the ears stand up
straight . . .

. . . or get a little fancy by half cutting and moving your leaf Framelit to create a floppy ear.

Add a sweet Honeycomb Embellishment (140566) for the tail or make a wee pom pom using Whisper White Baker’s Twine (item 124262) and adhere.

Once you’ve finished the bunny banner pieces, use the Flower Patch Stamp Set (134207) and coordinating Framelits to stamp, cut, and create an arrangement of blooms and leaves.

To complete the banner, punch holes in each of the banner pieces and thread with your favorite ribbon. I used both the Pool Party 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon (item 134568) and Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon (item 140569).

Of course, you’ll also need some baskets for Easter so I used the Berry Basket Bigz L Die (item 137366). Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 140579) is perfect for baskets because it’s heavyweight cardstock and you can choose between bright patterns or silver foil prints. I cut another basket out of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and used it as a lining for my basket (to match my banner).

Once assembled, I added some ribbon and flowers for embellishments.

If you’re still saving up for your Big Shot and Berry Basket Bigz L Die, you can make use of the many other packaging options Stampin’ Up! offers. I used a Takeout Box (item 135827) as a gift box, but you could definitely use it for egg hunting, too. I love that the Takeout Boxes are made from kraft-colored cardstock! Kraft matches my theme perfectly and the boxes are also food safe.

I used a stamp from the Flower Patch Stamp Set with the VersaMark Pad (item 102283) to stamp a subtle design on the outside of my box. I then trimmed an inch from each flap as I wanted my gift box to be open. Once I assembled the box, I tied some ribbon around it to keep the flaps open and then used the cut outs from my bunny banner to put together a bunny-shaped tag. I stamped “Happy Easter” on the bunny using a sentiment from the Circle of Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set (item 138964). I added a little Honeycomb Embellishment tail, this time in Blushing Bride, and tied the bunny to the box using ribbons.

I hope this post gives you some ideas for decorative projects to make this Easter. Or—you can even change up the colors and re-use the same projects for a sweet, bunny-themed baby shower or birthday party.

Happy Easter Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I celebrated my 16th Anniversary of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator …

anniversary

It’s hard to explain the flood of emotions that come with such an exciting milestone and the difference this had made in my life.  I have made so many wonderful friends … my stampers and fellow demonstrators alike. Both have been there for me through good times and hard times and I cannot exude enough gratitude for that.

The money and the trips are awesome – I won’t deny, but the friendships are what have kept me stamping for 16 years.  That’s right … I didn’t do this at all before I signed up! Image that! lol  The most amazing part to me, is to get a group of people together in a room to stamp and even though they had never met before they get to know each other and build amazing friendships too … I just LOVE this.

I couldn’t ask for a better job … and I couldn’t ask for better stampin’ friends! You are my inspiration.

Yesterday I told you that I had a really cool card I wanted to share with you. It was made by one of our 2015-16 Artisan Team members – Cindy Schuster. I would like to share her amazing post / card with you.

photo 1

Did you know that Easter is very early this year? It’s on March 27! Here’s a quick and simple Easter card that you can make using a WOW technique with the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set (item 140675) and the Balloon Bouquet Punch (item 140609). After stamping the balloon shape, simply snip the balloon end-piece off and you have an egg shape!

Stamp the large balloon image in Crumb Cake (item 126975), Perfect Plum (item 126963), Pool Party (item 126982), and So Saffron (item 126957) on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock (item 101650). (Stamp directly on the cardstock with Pool Party and So Saffron ink; stamp off the Crumb Cake and Perfect Plum balloon images.) Don’t forget to place your Stampin’ Pierce Mat (item 126199) beneath the cardstock to get a good, stamped image with your photopolymer stamps!

To create the first layer of speckle, stamp the splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set (item 130517) in Early Espresso Classic ink (item 119789) across the wide half of the balloon image.

To create the next layer of speckle, use the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item 141898). Squeeze the sides to push the ink into the barrel, then use your finger to tap hard on the brush. This will cause the ink to splatter across the cardstock.

Cut the stamped Very Vanilla Cardstock into strips so that you can slide them into the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Cut off the balloon end-piece. Now adhere the finished speckled eggs to a card using any simple Easter greeting.

Throw-back Thursday: Christmas Past

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Christmas cards from Christmas’ past.  I’m taking cards that can still be made with a change of designer paper or so.

I’d like to start with my JOY card using the  “Wondrous Wreath” stamp set and “Wonderful Wreath” Framelits … that is where the Joy and the Bow come from. This card comes from my November 2014 files and is still current today!

000_1652-BThe wreath framelit coordinates with our new “Peaceful Wreath” in the Holiday catalogs and is still available.

This quick and easy card can also be made today with our “Star’s Framelits” and any designer paper you love, and a touch of ribbon!

000_1625

We also have some great holiday greetings sets. My favorite is the Versatile Christmas stamp set (CLICK HERE).

140392G

My tree card comes from the “Festival of Trees” stamp set and the “Tree” punch which are both still available to order.

000_1734_0001You could add any designer paper as a background to add more color. This year we have then new “Peaceful Pines” stamp set which can be bundled with the Perfect Pines Framelit Dies!

Looking for a super simple card to make? So true … some of us do not have our cards done yet, so here’s the answer … Designer Paper, a greeting and a bow!

000_1545

This card is so easy to make and will still leave quite an impression! Just think of all the beautiful designer papers in the holiday catalog.

I hope this gave you a few more ideas. The last one would work great for birthdays too!

Thank you for joining me today.

Have a wonderful day ~

I also have my Simply Sunday card for you … Punch Art meets Paper Pumpkin!

I used the 2-3/8″ scallop circle punch for the base of my Santa.  I did pull out a few of my retired items to embellish Santa … the eyes, jingle bells, small oval punch and embossing folder (all Stampin’ Up! items).

Santa’s mustache are the wings from the bird builder punch and his nose is the medium size circle from the Owl Builder punch. The designer series paper is from the Merry Moments designer paper in the annual catalog. Everything else is from our Paper Pumpkin kit. Nothing simpler than working with your Paper Pumpkin.

Singin’ in the Pines

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are having a good week so far. Sometimes I think the hardest part about blogging is not coming up with the different projects … but coming up with a title! lol  So today’s Singin’ in the Pines is my way of paying homage to the trees and my greeting … falala.

000_2753

The “pines” are just one of three designs that come in the beautiful Foil Vellum and works well with the Foil sheets. I punched a ring to slide my banner through and then anchored it with the foil doily.

I love, love, love the “Snowflake Elements” and embossed them in silver to coordinate with the rest of the elements on my card.

The cherry on top … Rhinestones! A little bling looks great for the holidays.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Have an awesome day ~

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Simply Sunday: Blessings

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I will share a simple card layout that can be recreated for any occasion! A simple change of designer paper and a greeting will totally transform the card.

My card today will focus on the blessings of Christmas. I began with the wonderful Hostess stamp set in the Holiday Catalog: Six Sayings, it’s such a wonderfully versatile stamp set.

000_2736

I embossed the greeting in silver and mounted it onto Marina Mist cardstock, which is also the color I used for my base. Something about blue and snowflakes. I created a tag with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.

The greeting hinted at the designer paper I would use … “snowflakes” was the key! What better way to highlight my greeting than to use the beautiful “Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum” and it’s silver snowflakes!

000_2738

Put these few steps together and you have a cute and simple card.

Thank your for stopping by ~

Have a simply beautiful day.

Do you know what today is …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry for posting a bit late today, but I am here and I want to have a little fun today!

Did you know…

… that today is Tuxedo Debut Day? The tuxedo dinner jacket made its debut at a ball in Tuxedo Park, New York, on this day in 1886. There are several theories about the “invention” of the tuxedo but most can agree that it is a standard in American formal attire and is a ubiquitous symbol of celebration and special occasion for men of any and all levels of society.

000_0935

Who knew right! I didn’t know there was such a day. Guess we all learned something new today. lol

So … I brought back this cute little card I made a while back which features a “Tuxedo” … how fun is that! It was pretty much done “free-hand” … just a bit wider at the shoulders (that’s how we like them).

If you would like to see the original post for this card, just CLICK HERE!

Thanks so much for joining me today. I’ll be back tomorrow with one of my Simply Sunday series cards.

Have a wonderful day ~

Spooky Halloween …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m back today with another Halloween card! It’s right around the corner and I want to share as many samples with you as I can. Can you believe how fast this year has gone! It’s almost spooky!

Today’s card uses the Howl-o-ween stamp set and Boo To You framelit bundle

I had to make at least one card with the skull and cross bones, and I’m glad they’re not too scary.  Once I stamped it and cut it out, I knew that I had to use those Spider Web Doilies again (just luv ’em). It really adds that “Halloween” touch to the card.

000_2579

My “spooky” comes from the “Seasonal Frame” Thinlits, another cool framelit set! Click HERE to view.

A pop of color was needed so I used another pattern from the “Happy Hauntings” designer paper. It’s just enough to pull the whole card together. My Halloween greeting comes from the “And Many More” stamp set.

000_2576

The inside was stamped with another skull -n- cross bones and “Trick or Treat” as a promise of a sweet things to come!

I love playing with stamp sets and their coordinating framelits … it’s easy to make and your cards looks so polished! Can’t by that at any store!!

000_2579

Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoyed my spooky little card.

Have yourself a great day!

Simply Sunday: Silent Night

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share with you a simply beautiful card that I did at with my technique clubs this month. We focused on the “Woodland” embossing folder and some fun techniques that you can use with them to create a “WOW” card.

I paired up the Woodland folder with the beautiful “Wonderland” and “Happy Scenes” stamp sets…

000_2568

To create this beautiful card, you simply stamp directly onto the Woodland embossing folder with the pines from the Wonderland stamp set. Be sure you stamp on the “raised” side of the folder (the trees will be recessed on the side you stamp on).

Silent Night is stamped on vellum in Mossy Meadow and tucked behind your embossed front … I also used Mossy Meadow to mat the front and highlight the beautiful color.

000_2571

For the inside of the card, we stamped the trees from “Happy Scenes” into the corner and the verse from “Wonderland” into the center. I love how many of the stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! coordinate together.

Hope you enjoyed my card …

and I hope you have a beautiful day!
