Guest Stamper: OnStage Swap

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As promised, I’m going to share one of my swap cards from our April 2019 OnStage event … this card was created with the “Best Catch” bundle which can be found on page 44 of the Occasions Catalog.  Now, even if this stamp set does not retire from the catalog, it will no longer be bundled, so if you want to save 10% … you will want to order it before the new catalog is released.

Although there was no “official” name on the back of my swap, but inside the card, there was and email so the creator of this card is Rhonda Syverson!!  I only took a few cards with me to this event, mostly to share with my table mates but I had two left over … so, today and tomorrow you will see those swaps (and I love them both).

Don’t you love how Rhonda did her background? It appears as she inked her folder and then ran it through the BigShot to give it that fun background.  She also did some amazing coloring on her fish … I love this stamp set and have not used it yet so I really wanted to make sure I got one of Rhonda’s card.

Join me again tomorrow to see another swap … totally different than Rhonda’s card today, but both share forms of coloring.

Thanks for joining me today.

True Gentleman

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you doing today? I hope all is well with you.  Thank you for the kind comments to yesterday’s post, I am truly grateful for all of the amazing people I have met through my stamping and have supported me by choosing me as their demonstrator ❤ Thank You!

Today I want to share one of the cards that my retreat attendee’s got to make.  Our theme for retreat was “Caring Cards” … cards to convey our feelings for others, support, gratitude, sympathy and more. In that mix I thought I needed to add a little testosterone so I created a card from the “True Gentleman” product suite …. You can find it on pages 44 & 45 of the Occasions Catalog!

This is really a simple card to make but with the double fold it looks like it would be more difficult, not so … it’s just a smaller card tucked inside the regular size card and they open in opposite directions!!

My card base is Night of Navy and is adorned with the “True Gentleman” Designer Series Paper. This paper is so much fun … it has playful patterns and some great neutrals that will compliment the playful papers or stand alone! I chose the bow ties and glasses pattern paper to play off the “Lookin’ Sharp” sentiment from the “Truly Tailored” stamp set.

The coordinating punch was used to punch out the greeting and the mat of Tranquil Tide behind the greeting.  I cut the Tranquil Tide in half and aligned it with the greeting to show a bold background!

I really wanted to highlight the greeting so I embossed the background using the “Simple Stripes” Textured Embossing Folder. You can find that on page 5 of the Occasions Catalog with the Picture Perfect Party Suite.  I couldn’t resist adding one of the cute buttons from the “True Gentleman” Buttons … he is looking “sharp” you know! lol

Had to address the inside of the card as well …

And it was very easy to do with the sentiments included in the set.  This is a great stamp set for Fathers Day which is right around the corner … However, this is also on the DISCONTINUED LIST, so if you like it, don’t delay … get your order in before the end of May (the sooner the better) stamp sets are only guaranteed till mid May.

Thank you for checking in on me today, and don’t forget to stop back tomorrow… I’ll keep sharing snapshot from our stamping retreat.

Have a “Dapper Day”!!

World Traveler …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share with you one of the masculine cards that we made at our Spring Stampin’ Retreat. I got the idea from a couple of cards I found on Pinterest and combined them into this card!

000_3348-yes

To create the card I used a bit of everything from the “Going Places” product suite.  I started with the Going Places cardstock pack and embossed with the World Traveler Embossing Folder.

Once we embossed the cardstock with the World Traveler … we cut it along the equator line to split the cardstock and have our Going Places Designer Paper show through. The embossed cardstock was popped up to create some fun dimension and really highlight the designer paper.

We sponged area’s on the map and compass along with the inside of our card to age it a bit.

000_3350

We then stamped our compass with the Going Global stamp set both on the Lost Lagoon and Very Vanilla cardstocks. They were punched out and layered to create even more dimension. We created a focal point by adding the “Antique Brad” into the center.

To complete the card we added our “banner” greeting with the words from the Going Global stamp set and the Banner Punch. It was a big hit at retreat!

Thank you for joining me today …

I hope your day is blessed with kindness and beauty.

Masculine Card … Thinking of You

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope this weekend finds in well and feelin’ good! I’m happy to have the day off of work so I can head down into my Stampin’ Studio and create!!

With Mother’s Day upon us, I thought I would share a masculine card and get your thinking about Father’s Day. Masculine cards are one of the most requested classes I get.

Today we will be using the “In the Meadow” stamp set and the Woodland embossing folder (will be in the upcoming catalog). This fun technique I’m about to share creates awesome dimension on your card with little effort!

000_3339

Begin with a light background … I used Soft Sky on my card. Then you will ink up your deer image and stamp it directly onto the folder. Yes, directly onto the folder. You are stamping on the area that will show the heads of the deer.

There are two ways to color your tree’s … I love white birch!! I use either the brayer with the White Craft Ink or you can use your Chalk Marker, either one works great. The brayer is faster … however, you may get some white spots on the blue area of the card.

The brown spots on the birch tree were created by using the writing tip of the marker in the recessed areas on the tree (super simple).

000_3344

I stamped an extra deer and cut out just the fawn … then I colored all the deer and added some color to the grass with a marker. The fawn is then popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a 3-D look. The deer on the blue will color differently than the fawn stamped on white cardstock, but I love the way it darkens them and makes it look as if they really are in that forest!!

A simple greeting on a banner created with the banner punch and anchored with one of the beautiful Antique Brads (retiring) and a twist of Linen Thread complete my card.

This is one of the masculine cards that we made at our Spring Stamping Retreat. I like to share different styles, techniques and occasions at the Spring Retreat. For more information about our retreats, click on the tab at the top of my blog.

HIP HIP HOORAY!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a cute card I’d like to share with you! I’ve seen many cards done with this layout so I thought I’d do one for you. Of course … I had to use stars!

000_2398

I’ve seen this style of card done with butterflies and other shapes too.  It’s easy and so much fun. It’s also a good way to use up some of those scrap pieces!

This card can be used for so many different occasions … especially with the “Hip Hip Hooray” greeting! I embossed it using White craft and White Embossing powder – I like how the white on white really stands out.

When I trimmed off the top of my card front, it was too cool to throw away … so I put it in the inside of my card and added a star!

000_2401

Here’s a tip … when you want to put adhesive on something thinner than your adhesive, use the Silicone Craft Sheet! You can run your adhesive over the top without making a sticky mess every where else. It’s a MUST HAVE!!

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to visit my blog!

Have an awesome day ~

This cards For You!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share a card that will be just one of many featured at my New Catalog Kick-Off Party! We will be showcasing 7 stamp sets! You will make 7 fabulous cards – 1 from each of the showcased stamp set, plus you’ll get to use some of the new designer papers and embellishments!

Each of the 7 stamp sets will also have a coordinating board which will have 5 additional samples made from that stamp set!  If that isn’t enough … we’ll be raffling the boards off at the end of the night! You could go home with all those cards!

If you have not received your e-invite … then please message me (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) or leave a note below with your e-mail and I will make sure I send you all the information.

Today’s card features the “Wilderness Awaits” stamp set. I knew I had to have this set … so many of my friends are dog lovers, and well … that fox is just too cute! I think it will make great masculine cards.

000_2333

The elk is stamped on vanilla … I love that the designer papers take all the guess work out of coordinating my colors. The elk is stunning and I simply colored it in using my ink pads and blender pen.

I wanted a lot of color yet still maintain the masculine look so I used the Bohemian Designer Series paper, and mounted it on Island Indigo cardstock.

The greeting comes from the stamp set and was punched out with the 3/4″ oval punch (discontinued) but the back is actually from the bow builder punch!!  I just cut off the edges!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share and that you consider joining us on the 13th of July (remember to contact me for more details) lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com   We’d love to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of you day!

Simply Sunday: You’re My Light

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

As promised, I am back with a card share from the “From Land to Sea” stamp set. I think this is a very versatile set, but one look at the lighthouse and I knew I had to have it!

My card was created in honor of Father’s Day even though my own Father has long since passed, I think of a good Dad as a “guiding light” for his children. Just like a lighthouse … they are there to guide us through the foggy or difficult times in our life.

000_2305

A simple card … illustrating that you don’t need all of the latest gadgets and tricks to create a nice card. I simply stamped my own background with the wheel, did a bit of layering for a dramatic color scheme, and popped up my lighthouse and greeting with dimensionals for “dimension” and texture.

I stamped my lighthouse with the Momento Ink Pad and then colored it with the Real Red marker. My greeting comes from the “Petite Pairs” stamp set.  I thought the “no matter what” worked perfectly for a Father’s Day card.

One little tip … because I used dimensionals on my lighthouse and greeting, I needed to use 3 of them on the right side of my greeting to even it out! Now that’s dimension!! lol

000_2308

I do have the ingredients for this card listed at the bottom of my post. Just click on any item to learn more about it, or to begin shopping at my on-line store.

Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I wish all you Dad’s out there … the happiest of Father’s Days!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your day with me.

Walk in the Wild 3

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is my last of 3 cards that I have made for you with the “Walk in the Wild” stamp set.  I may have used one stamp set, but I have shown you three different techniques.

Today’s card share illustrates the “Reverse Masking” technique … so simple but so effective.

000_2243

I used the “Labels Collection” framelits to create my mask, then I placed it onto the Very Vanilla and sponged Pear Pizzazz around the edges. Then with the Mossy Meadow ink and our ever popular “Lovely as a Tree” … I stamped layers of the pine to create stunning dimension.

I used “Close to Cocoa” to stamp my quail onto the front and then my greeting.  Although there is no layering, the Reverse Masking technique give an appearance of dimension.

Thanks for coming back ~ Hope you enjoyed all three of my “Walk in the Wild” series cards.

I’ll be back tomorrow with the Weekly Deals…

Have a fabulous Monday!

Simply Sunday … Walk in the Wild 2

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  I got to spend some time with my granddaughter and my sister Eileen.  Yes stampers … we are planning an event, and as soon as I lock down the location, I will send you the details.  It’s going to be fun & exciting!!!  Tentative date: Thursday, May 28th.

Today is day 2 of my “Walk in the Wild” card share … I went pretty masculine on this one.  I am really going to miss this set! I love, love, love the moose.

000_2227

I wanted something simple, yet a bit different from the textured embossing folders, so I went “old school” and crumpled up my “Baked Brown Sugar” cardstock, cut the edges, and then sponged it … to age it.  I love the warm color of the Baked Brown Sugar against the richness of the Early Espresso…. it even looks better in hand!

Next I stamped my moose with the StazOn™ Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, and did a color wash over the entire piece.  Just a little ink in the tray of the ink pad and my “Aqua Painters” and your done in mere minutes!

My greeting comes from the”Something to Say” stamp set … then I cut it into a banner, curled up the edges … sponged it (to age it) and then anchored it with an “Antique Brad”.  I used a Blendabilities pen (some of you are still using yours) or you can use a sharpie, to tone down the color a bit.

000_2233

This angle shows the dimension in the card … I popped up the moose, the greeting, and the brad with my Stampin’ Dimensionals.  TIP: Use your craft scissors to cut the tines off the brad so it lays evenly on your project.

Hope you enjoyed today’s manly moose … and don’t forget to stop back tomorrow to view the last card from my “Walk in the Wild” series.

Remember, it is retiring so you will need to purchase it before the end of this month.  Just click the link I have posted for you below in my “Stampin’ Supply List”.

If you want to be included in my e-mails for upcoming classes … just click on the “Subscribe to my e-mail newsletter” tab located in the black banner on the top of my page.

So until tomorrow … Have a great day!

Walk in the Wild – Card Share #1

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

As promised … I have the first of 3 cards from the Walk in the Wild stamp set to share with you.  I am beginning with the pheasant.

I used the technique that my clubs learned this month … Foil Embossing.  It’s quick, easy and oh so cool!  In fact, they will love to see that I am using the same layout they used for the “Thank You” card in class.

000_2222

My image was stamped with StazOn and colored in with the Pear Pizzazz marker and the Blender Pen to apply the Island Indigo and Crumb Cake

When creating your foil background … you will need to use the “Heavy Duty” foil. We then glued a piece of cardstock onto the foil … trimmed off any access and then ran it through the Big Shot.  I used the “Woodgrain” textured impressions embossing folder.

One simple stampin’ tip … Remember when applying a piece of cardstock on a half sheet, only put adhesive on the half that will be in contact with your card.

000_2224

I told you it was simple. I’d love to hear from you … please share any ideas with our blog followers on how you would use this technique.

Thank you for dropping by today …

Have an awesome weekend ~

Spring Retreat Masculine Swap Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I know that I told you I would be sharing cards from “Walk in the Wild” and I will … but last night one of my club members asked to see some swap cards from the second retreat, so today I’m going to post two.

Both cards are made with the “Four Feathers” stamp set.  Don’t worry, just because they are not in the catalog, does not mean they are gone.  You can find them in the “Returning Favorites” section of my website. Just click on the link and you can see what else is available.

This first card was created by Tanya D.  I love the color pallet … very masculine! The background was created with the “Arrows” embossing folder.

000_2208

The cute greeting comes from the “Just Sayin'” stamp set and was teamed up with the “Word Bubbles” framelit dies.  Don’t you just love framelits!!  No more fussy cutting!

Our second card was created by Meg L. Same stamp set … different look.

000_2215

Meg used the “Chevron” impressions embossing folder and tied it all up with the “Coastal Cabana” Thick Bakers Twine.

Both cards are awesome … but not the winner! I’ll be posting that one later.

Thanks so much for checking out our swap cards. I have a list of the core items used for these two cards below.  Just click on the link for product details.

I will be back this weekend with the “Walk in the Wild” cards for you.

Have a wonderful weekend!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Sad to say goodbye …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

For those of you who followed my past few posts, you know that I was away at our second of two Spring Retreats. As the first, we had a wonderful time, plus we were blessed with a most beautiful weekend.

IMG_20150419_073331

Yesterday I showed you how I set up my stamp room for our guests … here is a pic of our afternoon stamping session:

11143159_897324460339650_1485341471369200345_n

Our guests are creating one of the many projects we have prepared for them. All of our cards were created with different “folds” …

11218768_897324510339645_7939395352458968612_n

We take several breaks throughout the day … it feels good to stretch! Plus there is always a good meal waiting for them when they return to the house.  Here is a shot of our last stamping session …

11178364_897465696992193_4765070950460322918_n

After this session we returned to the house for dessert and good conversation. It was a beautiful night, and just shy of the full moon.  Got this shot coming out of the stamping area and returning to the house …

Spring Retreat - May 2015

None of us can believe how fast the weekend goes! Just one more gathering around the table for breakfast before everyone heads home.  Eileen and I pack up and head out too …

Spring Retreat 2015 - All done

It’s kind of sad to see the room empty and the tables cleared off, but we had a good time and there’s always the Fall Retreat to look forward to.

A big “THANK YOU” to all that attended and thanks to you who followed us on the blog and my facebook page “Linda’s Stampin’ Escape”… we hope you enjoyed it.

Have a great week ~

Reminiscing … A Walk in the Wild

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With the retirement lists out, I’d like to reminisce on one of those stamp sets you love … A Walk in the Wild. This was a great stamp set for masculine cards… and I’m going to miss this one!

My first card is the pheasant … I did this birthday card in November of 2013. Simple color pallet and the use of ribbon for banners make this card very appealing to the guys.

000_0389

My second card is the moose … he is so stately! I created this one back in August of 2013.

I teamed this image up with some designer paper and the burlap ribbon. The burlap gives the card some great texture, yet does not take away from the moose image at all.

000_0111

Both cards used a simple layout … but with different backgrounds and accessories, they look well put together. While making cards for guys, you never want to “over” embellish.

Hope you enjoyed this little flashback, and if you don’t have this stamp set … you may want to add it onto your wish list.

Thank you for dropping by my blog today!

Have an awesome one ~

Saturday’s Simply Masculine …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have created a card for you that can be made in just minutes! It’s super easy and very masculine.

I began with our “Adventure Bound” Designer Series Paper pack and chose the brick pattern. I trimmed it down slightly smaller than the basic 4″ x 5-1/4″ because I wanted to mat the designer paper.

000_1887

That 1/8″ pop of black from our mat really makes the brick stand out. I mounted these onto the “Naturals White” cardstock. It compliments nicely with the brick and creates a look of texture that the Whisper White does not … perfect for our masculine card.

000_1888

Next, I grabbed my “Balloon Bash” stamp set … I think this is such a fun and versatile set. It’s also bold enough to stamp and embossed directly onto designer paper and still pop! It does not get lost in the background of the designer paper.

I stamped the image with the White Craft Ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. That is it … simple, fun, and very masculine!

000_1887

Thank you for dropping by to visit my blog today.

I wish you a simply wonderful Saturday ~
