Thank You Friend … Brayer Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am back today to share another alternative project. from this months Paper Pumpkin kit. This one is so cute and just resonates SPRING! I’m going to start by sharing “HOW” I did the brayering on this card …

First, let’s begin with the Silicone Craft Sheet. Because the Die Cut Greetings already have adhesive, we want to make sure we’re not “sticking to everything” … so our Silicone mat solves that problem!!

I pulled the greeting from the die cut sheet and placed it onto my Silicone Craft Sheet (127853) Don’t forget to add the small pieces from your “a” and “o” to complete your word.

Now we are ready to prepare our sponge brayer. Roll it over the ink pad several times and then do a practice brayer on the side.  You will see that you DO NOT have to have your brayer covered with so much ink that you don’t see any white!  You’d be surprised how much ink is actually on the brayer 🙂

You are now ready to begin brayering your die cut greeting! I began using the brayer at full width to get the words fully covered with ink. I also brought it back & forth from top to bottom to get some color across the majority of the greeting.

Now you can see by the photo that I am brayering on the edge of the brayer. This gives me a more defined area to brayer … I want my center with a deep rich color so my cardstock underneath just POPS!! Then just let it dry before you begin assembly of your card!

My next step was to arrange my flowers onto my greeting … I put dimensionals on the back of the greeting so it did not stick to the card front … I’m just placing it on the front so we can stamp onto the card.

I lifted the lower flower arrangement off and “popped” it up to add dimension to the card. The greeting is also popped up as is the entire card front!! There is a lot of dimension going on here! lol

This picture shows all the different layers of this card … so pretty.  I also wanted to bring in a little something for the “empty” spaces on my card … not that every inch has to be backed full but adding the Glitter Enamel Dots just allows your eye to flow around the card and brings in the touch of pink to tie this card all together.  Besides … I love them ❤ lol

Thank you for stopping back and sharing part of your day with me!

I wish you a beautiful day. It’s a balmy 40 degree’s here in Wisconsin … and we will take that in February 🙂

Celebrate Your Awesomeness!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am excited to share not one but two really cute cards!! Since I missed you yesterday I thought I should share two cards with you 🙂

I hope you had a chance to view the Paper Pumpkin video that I posted … it’s a good kit! Did you know that if you purchase Paper Pumpkin by March 10th, you’ll get the kit that includes a FREE Gift, and will be invited to a Paper Pumpkin celebration at my home!!

If that’s not all … Once you’re a subscriber, you can purchase any past kits that are available … Like this months kit!  So let’s get to the cards!

I love to share alternative projects …

I used ONLY items found in the kit for this card 🙂 The celebrate comes from the negative that is used for the original card. I sponged it (Ombre style: Darker on top to Lighter on the bottom) to give my card a bolder visual impact.  (They are all ready sticky, so no worries on how to adhere them!)

I added the flowers next (also sticky) and then I stamped my secondary greeting from the Ink Spot and Stamp Set that is included in the kit! The entire greeting was popped up. This picture will show the layering better …

What a cute card to send to a special friend … Celebrate your awesomeness! It could be used simply for a birthday or to celebrate a new job or an achievement in their life ❤

My next card was created using the “Basket Weave” embossing folder that is part of a special Sale-A-Bration bundle that you can earn for FREE with a qualifying purchase. I love this folder and it goes so well with this kit!!

I love to rich color of the Early Espresso teamed with the colors from the Paper Pumpkin kit this month. The “friend” piece is actually the negative (open) and I placed a piece of cardstock behind it.

Once I embossed the card front with the “Basket Weave” embossing folder, I wrapped it in the Linen Thread (that was included in the kit).

Then … I stamped the greeting “hello sweet” above the friend, added the cute “sticky die cut flowers” and then popped it up onto the card front and added a cute little bow. Even the little pearls come with this kit!

This angle shows the basket weave a little better! I love the simplicity of this card, yet the texture and dimension really brings it to the next level.  It’s so cute!!

Thanks for joining me today ~

I hope you keep stopping back as I have so much more to share with you!! Not just the Paper Pumpkin but the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs as well.

Have an awesome day! It’s Friday 🙂

A Year in Review …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Like me … I’m sure you like to sit down every now and then and make up a bunch of cards for upcoming birthdays, holidays and such, but we all know life gets in the way sometimes and we don’t get the chance to get our stamping done …

Well, I have a solution!! Try our Paper Pumpkin kits – they come once a month and you can get fun cards and projects in minutes … no coming up with the design, no measuring … no spending 1/2 your time cutting everything out … just grab the kit and begin!

2017 was a great year for Paper Pumpkin! So join me and talk a ride down memory lane … Your carriage awaits! Watch this to take a look back at all the great kits we released in 2017!

Which was your favorite?  I have to say … Stampin’ Up! kicked off the year right with the January 2017 Paper Pumpkin: Adorning Arrows – 16 cute little Valentine boxes, but I only have 12 grandchildren to I made this cute card ….

Oh man … I like so many of them and who can resist those little “Bunny Buddies” in March! I added note cards and tucked them in the bag, and a full size card on this one ….

And what about our June 2017 “One in a Melon” … that was so fun to make into cards, and the kids just loved the bags!!

I even used the stamps that were included in the kit to stamp my “Stampin’ Rewards” notifications!!

Can’t keep going without another favorite ….July 2017 and the “Positively Picturesque” …

I will say however, that Autumn is my favorite time of year so I could not resist the beautiful kit they put together for September: “Layered Leaves” …

and my favorite card of them all …

The rest of the year was just as fun and beautiful with the shaker cards in October and Stockings in November … Loved ’em!! We’ve come a long way baby and the Paper Pumpkins are bigger and better than ever before.

Simply Sunday … Simply Fun!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m back with a fun, quick card that I whipped together using my December 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit! This is really a versatile kit … and I love the die cut card fronts, makes them so easy to pull a card together (if you want to change it up a bit).

I turned the card sideways (as it was designed to be a vertical card) because I knew I wanted to create a “celebration” type card to be used for birthdays or congrats, or just to cheer someone up!

Everything I used was included in the kit except the balloons … I punched out the turquoise one from the Myths & Magic Glimmer paper and created my own Berry Burst by sponging the color onto the White Glimmer included in the kit!! Even the Bakers Twine and banner were included in the kit!

Did you know you still have time to get the January kit? Sign up before the 10th of January and you will get your kit in the mail within 2 weeks after that. If you purchase a Pre-Paid subscription … You’ll get SALE-A-BRATION Rewards as well 🙂

2017 December Alternative Paper Pumpkin Project

Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a cute card that I created with the December 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit … now don’t run away just because you are not a current subscriber, there is always something to take away from the projects I share with you.

I began with the pre-cut note card, however, I wanted to create a full card to see what it would look like … I also knew I had a score line that I wanted to cover so I headed to my ribbon stash and grabbed the Lemon-Lime! I thought that would look pretty with my cardstock.

As you can see, I kept the idea from Stampin’ Up! for the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper behind the pre-cut cardstock but did not add the other piece (I’ll show you what I came up with that tomorrow).

Then I simply embossed one of the many greetings included in the December kit and added the butter (stamped in Lemon-Lime) to balance out my card.

Now … take this idea of a die cut image, using one of your many beautiful framelits dies, add your glimmer paper to the background and you have an awesome card! Easy layout … simple to make, and beautiful!!

Or how about ….

There is always an idea from any of the projects I share … that is my intent anyway.

I love the Paper Pumpkin kits because they are pre-cut and ready to put together, with a little stamping! But you can go beyond what they have made for us.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share, and I hope to see you back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping in …

Have a wonderful day!

Two for Tuesday: Silent Night & Simple Stockings

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ve got double the fun for you! I’m going to share a beautiful card that one of my Holiday Retreat Attendee’s made for the card swap, and I have a super simple way to deck out your Holiday Paper Pumpkin Stocking.

I am thrilled to share a pretty card from my Guest Stamper: Jennifer F. What I love about this card is that Jen took a staple from her stamp collection and created this a fresh new holiday look …

Lovely as a Tree just received a lovely update … I love how it is framed with the use of the Circle Framelits Dies and the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder.

The “two” on this Tuesday is an Alternative Project to the November 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. These little stockings are so easy to work with and a Gift Card tucks nicely inside … so hang them on the tree or use them on the gift.

I teamed up my Paper Pumpkin with the fun and amazing Stitched Felt Embellishments from the Quilted Christmas Product Suite. Just a quick dab on All Purpose Glue and your stockings are ready to hang… and I added some pretty ribbon so you can do that!

I see some of you took part in our 24-hour Sale (THANK YOU!!) There are plenty of items on the shopping list, so just click the link below.  Don’t forget the Clearance Rack too.

Projects & Stamp Sale & Tips … Oh My!! It’s all here!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ve got a cute project to share and some stampin’ tips that can be used on any projects!!

Stampin’ Up! has produced yet ANOTHER fabulous Paper Pumpkin kit! This November’s kit is filled with adorable mini Christmas stockings. And they are super fast and easy to assemble for gifting as is.

I didn’t change much on this little stocking at all … Basically I extended the Cherry Cobble part of the tag so it shows at the top and bottom, wrapped the leaves around the tag, and ….

… used my new Stampin’ Blends to color the clothes pins that were included in the kit! That’s right, you can color any of our wood elements, rhinestones, pearls, accents or enamel shapes with the Stampin’ Blends.

Next… I jazzed up the stocking a bit by using the Gold Star Sequins from my October Paper Pumpkin kit, just add a touch of Multipurpose Liquid glue.

I choose the stars because of the gold tree and the star at the top… it just ties it all together.

Ready for one more awesome idea? Oh yea … Here it is ~

IMG_3299

You can use the Stampin’ Blends on the stocking to die it to match the October card … how awesome is that!! I love this, and you can make it any color.

If you can’t get enough … join me and the rest of the Paper Pumpkin family on a FACEBOOK LIVE event  …

Birthday Alternative ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share with you a special birthday card … my sister Eileen’s. I could not share this card earlier because we just celebrated her birthday yesterday.

I used the October 2017 Paper Pumpkin as my base … and then I changed it up to create a unique birthday card. I wanted to use the beautiful “Happy Birthday” on my card and to do so, I had to change out the top layer of my card …  this is where I decided to use the Oval Dies to create my opening for a shaker card.

When I cut out my oval, I used the outside of my die as a template to draw an “Old Olive” line around the oval … this was to add a bit more of the Olive color to my card.  I used the background, window sheet, sequins and foam strips from the kit for my card.

I added the deer and I did that because I wanted to add a touch of black to pull the color from the greeting and the plaid background. At this point the card was a little masculine so I added the pretty “sparkly” black bow because it tied into the color theme and added a feminine touch to the card. Now … don’t you think that did the trick!

Hope you enjoyed my Paper Pumpkin alternative … a great base to create a very special birthday card.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope your day is a good one.

Thankful for my Coffee!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Friday!! Today is the last of my Paper Pumpkin Alternative projects … time to move on because there is soooo much to show you, but I must say “this kit has been so easy to work with!”

So … for my last project I just had to incorporate this kit with one of the hottest new bundles in the catalog … the Coffee Café Bundle!!

Always “thankful” for my coffee! I used the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper as my background. The series of leaves were all stamped with the leaf stamp included in the kit … I just simply dragged the tip of the ink spot over the center of the stamp so only the veins showed.

The cup was cut from the “Pillow Box” included in the Paper Pumpkin kit. I really love the embossing on the pillow box and I centered it so it would be visible.

The greeting and tag also come from the kit. I added a strip of gold behind my cup and leaves to accent the gold strip on the tag.  Really quite simple … and fun to make.

Let me know if you have any questions about Paper Pumpkin… I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for dropping in on me today.

Have a wonderful weekend!
