SNEAK PEEK … Special Reason Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you had a nice Valentines Day yesterday. As promised I am here today to share a bit more with the Stylish Stems and a sneak peek!

As if Sale-A-Bration wasn’t great already; Stampin’ Up! has added more great to the greatness! Beginning February 21st they will release THREE new exclusive Sale-A-Bration products. Today I’m going to show you one …

000_4079

YES!! FREE Glimmer Paper … can’t get better than that. It comes in Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay. There are also 2 new stamp sets being released.

Now … are you ready to see what happens when you mix the Special Reason bundle and the new Sale-a-Bration Glimmer paper? Well wait no longer ….

000_4089

Stunning right! Not hard to create at all. We’ll begin with a Sweet Sugarplum base (which coordinates with the new Glimmer paper) and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Thick Whisper White cardstock.

First take the thick cardstock and cut out the largest flower to create a “peek through” …  the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper will be underneath! Oh but I cannot waste… so I cut out my glimmer flower from the “right” side of the paper.

000_4081

Cutting the large detailed flower takes two steps, you just completed the first. Next you will use the outline die to actually cut the flower out. Today’s card illustrates both ways to use that die.

000_4082

I attached the flower to the front of the card using the Tombo glue – it really holds nice (I will also use this to adhere the finished card front onto the base). I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the white cardstock onto the Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper.

000_4085

The greeting comes from the stamp set “Special Reason” that’s in our bundle. I backed that with a piece of the Mint Macaron glimmer paper and then cut out the leaves. Our greeting says: There’s no special reason for this card …  INSIDE: … except to let you know how special you are!

I really wasn’t sure that I needed another flower card, but when I saw what could be done with this bundle, well … I had to have it. The bundle in Clear Mount is $45.75 so if you add the pretty Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon – you can get the Glimmer Paper free (But Remember … it’s not available until the 21st) You will also receive another stamp on your Virtual Rewards card!

000_4089

Thank you for joining me this Wednesday ~

I hope you have an awesome day!

Simply Sunday: Peek Through Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today we’re pulling out the BigShot to create our Simply Sunday card, which features the Peek Through technique.  This is the technique my Technique Clubs learned this month and this is one of their cards.

It’s a done in our Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White, in fact, we are using the “thick” Whisper White for today’s technique card. Our base is in the Sweet Sugarplum and our Thick Whisper White is our 4″ x 5-1/4″ front.

000_4077

We are using the Special Reasons bundle found on page 42 of the Occasions Catalog. These special dies create our “Peek Through” by cutting the flower without cutting the edge so it gives you an almost negative image and allows you to see through to the back ground. It also comes with an outline die that will cut out the same flower … so it gives you two uses!

We used the Precision plate with our flower die and placed it onto our thick cardstock and rolled it through. It cut out beautifully and easily releases the pieces, however if you have the die brush you can use that to hurry the process of removing the pieces.

You can see from this camera angle that the entire white front piece has been popped up which creates a wonderful dimension to the flower and the card.

000_4076

The greeting comes from the Suite Sentiments stamp set found on page 54 of the Occasions catalog … you’ve seen me use this stamp set many times.  Did you know that the fonts in this stamp set coordinate with fonts from some of the other Occasions stamp sets! Good to know 🙂

The ribbon is the coordinating Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon and is used as an anchor to the card. Then just a touch of bling was added to draw your eye around the entire card, and it really completes it.

Thank you so much for joining me this Sunday,

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hoping Your Day is Perfect …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you’re staying warm … burrrr, it’s cold out there!! But you gotta love Wisconsin, it’s going to be 42 degrees this weekend.  Our boots are always next to our flip flops … lol.

One of the most requested types of cards is “Quick -n- Easy”.  With everyone busy as ever, many of you are looking for quick cards that are still pretty.  My advise to you is … Designer Series Paper! You can create card so easy by using the paper as your background and your greeting as the focal point.

000_4063

Here I used the “Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer paper”.  This designer paper patterns consist of colorful floral designs which include some with copper foil. My greeting comes from my latest “go to” stamp set … “Suite Sentiments”. This is a basic design using my paper cutter to cut out my greeting mat.

You can easily change this up a bit by using any or our punches or fabulous array of framelits and thinlit dies to cut shapes for your greeting. Speaking of punches and dies … you could also use these to add a decorative touch to your card.I used the beautiful “Falling In Love” embellishments.

000_4066

By using any of our beautiful designer papers with any of our cutting tools, you’ll be sure to have a cute card done in just minutes! And don’t forget to add that special touch by adding a punched butterfly, a die cut dragonfly or any of our wonderful embellishments, even a doily would add a nice touch.

Hope you enjoyed my quick -n- easy card and the tips to get creative with a simple design.  Have fun with it, and feel free to share! You can post it on my facebook page Linda’s Stampin’ Escape/facebook.

Thanks for sharing a piece of your day with me!

Hoping your day is perfect.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Simply Sunday: BEST. GUY. EVER.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry for the late post, computer troubles again … but my troubles actually worked out in the long run, because I stayed busy in the stampin’ studio creating more cards!

Today I have 3 cards to share with you!! All with the same layout, all with the same stamp set, and all with the same designer series paper pack! By the title of today’s blog: BEST. GUY. EVER. – you can tell that a “man card” was on my mind.

With Valentine’s Day only 8 days away … you’ve seen several cards already but not one specific for males. In the theme of my Simply Sunday’s, nothing creates a quick card like designer paper, and our “Serene Scenery” Designer Paper has awesome patterns for guys! I chose the antiqued wood look …

000_4050

The Crumb Cake base matches perfectly with this paper! And yes, it is one 4 x 5-1/4 sheet … all the texture and depth is actually in the beautiful photography of that paper! Tomorrow I’ll share another card I created with this paper.

Next I chose the stamp set … the wonderful “Suite Sentiments”.  I love this greeting set, it has a little something for every occasion. Today you’ll see it used 3 times. I wanted the greeting to be the focal point of the card so I used the “Stitched Shapes Framelits”. Once cut, I mounted it with the Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some height. With the help from the Confetti Hearts border punch, I punched out some hearts from the Pool Party paper and attached them to my greeting with glue dots. Nice & Simple.

This card is a simply sweet card to give to one of your friends. The designer paper pattern (Again, “Serene Scenery” Designer Paper) reminds me of a warm summer day, full of dandelions just waiting to make a wish upon. The greeting is from “Suite Sentiments” and again was die cut using the “Stitched Shapes Framelits”.

000_4053

My color pallet for this card is Old Olive and Early Espresso. I added the Basic Pearls to draw your eye around the entire card and create balance. Besides, they are pretty and your friend will love them!

Can you see the theme here? The same layout, with the same stamp set:”Suite Sentiments”, all with the same designer series paper pack:”Serene Scenery” and die cut with the “Stitched Shapes Framelits”.

The final card I created uses the Cloudy Sky designer paper, it’s realism reminded me of the Ascension of Jesus so I used it to create an Easter card. Simply and pretty. I used the smallest flower from the “Blossom Punch” to make my flowers, and since I already had the pearls out from the previous card, I used them again in the center of my blooms.

000_4055

I know some of you are already gettin’ in the mood for the Superbowl, but I appreciate taking a minute out of your day to check out my post.  My team is out so if I watch it’s only for the commercials or takin’ a peek at the 1/2 time show.  Best bet is you’ll find me in my stampin’ studio 🙂

May the rest of your day be wonderful and your tomorrow even better.

Project Life: Friend Like You

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m finally back up and running and here to share my “Project Life” creation with you. My last post shared the “Celebrate Everyday” Project Life video so you could see all the goodies tucked inside.

If you ever need a really quick card, just pull out your project life kit!!  I began with choosing a card for the front of my card. I just love this cute little flower pattern so I picked it and trimmed it down the sides to fit my base.

000_3930

My base color is Flirty Flamingo and coordinates with the colors in my Project Life kit. They have a list of the colors right in the catalog … so it’s easy to choose your color pallet. I then mounted my Project Life card onto the front of the base.

I love stamp sets with multiple greetings and the new “Suite Sentiments” has a little bit of everything so I had to add it to my collection.  I thought the “Everyone needs a friend like you” worked so well with the flower pattern but I wanted it to stand out more so I stamped it on some Whisper white and matted it with a little bit of Flirty Flamingo. You can see the stamp set at the end of my post.

000_3934

The “Celebrate Everyday” Project Life also has a fun accessory pack that you can get to coordinate with the card collection … this is where I got the heart that matches the pattern on my card. I also backed that with a bit of Flirty Flamingo so it would stand out.

Both the greeting and the heart were popped up with the Stampin’ dimensionals. It’s a great inexpensive way to add some dimension to your cards and scrapbook pages.

000_3930

Hope you enjoyed … I’m glad to be back.  I’ve been shopping for a new computer and hope to have one soon so I can share all the neat projects I have made for you.

Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Enjoy your day ~

Throwback Thursday: Autumn Leaves

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

OK – there are way too many leaves off the tree’s already … Where did autumn go? This is my favorite time of year and I feel like I was so busy that I missed it!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made last year.  This was a fun card to make, I used the “Baby Wipe” technique to get all this color …

000_2746

I knew I wanted to use the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set, and the “Baby Wipe” technique is the easiest and quickest way to create the explosion of color. I laid out a stack of 4 – 5 baby wipes and began dropping ink from the refill bottles.

I used Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red re-inkers, then pressed the leaves into the inked up baby wipe and stamped it onto the tree which was already stamped in Chocolate Chip.

I added the leaves to create my ground cover and then added a greeting which is included in the stamp set.  Unfortunately the Curvy Corner Trio Punch was discontinued…. I miss it!

000_2745

A simple card yes, but too pretty to resist.

Thank you for joining me today,

I hope you have a good day.

Thankful * Grateful * Blessed

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I said I would share a card created with our Petals & Paisleys product suite that can be found on pages 46 and 47 of the Holiday Catalog. I never really considered myself much of a “paisley” person but the beautiful cards I have seen with this product suite inspired me to create this card for you.

000_3657

I love combining products that we already have with our new goodies! Today I have used the “Floral Affection” embossing folder with our Paisleys. You will want to emboss first and then stamp your greeting.

Our color pallet consists of Night of Navy, Delightful Dijon and Very Vanilla. The beautiful designer paper is the “Petals & Paisleys” Specialty Designer paper…. Special because of the two sheets included that have been embossed with beautiful Copper highlights!

I used the “Ribbon Trio Pack” to finish the edge of my designer paper. It is so pretty in “real life” … it has a bit of a shimmer to it – just gorgeous! Of course the pretty die cut posies are from the Paisley framelits (which I have listed below in the bundle) We attached those with Glue Dots and topped them off with a pearl.

000_3661

You cannot make this pretty of a card without putting something on the inside, so I chose the beautiful saying “My world is brighter and more beautiful because of you”, which is included in this stamp set (bundle) … and again the pretty stamped posies are also included in the stamp set.

I’m keepin’ my post short and sweet today just because it’s Monday … I hope this card brightened your day! Thanks so much for stopping by.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a 2 for Tuesday!

Simply Sunday: Forever Friends

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you this beautiful Sunday? Hoping you are doing well. I’m feeling much better now that I have my system up and running the way it should (still may get a new computer!)

Today I’d like to share with you a pretty little card that we made at my Hostess Appreciation Party. We used the new “Jar of Love” stamp set and although I love the pretty little flowers that come with the stamp set … sometimes we just need “Quick & Simple” and that’s what I have for you today.

Let’s begin with stamping the jar image … I used the StazOn because of the “true” black color and because we watercolored our water in the jar.  There is a “water” stamp in the set if you would prefer to use that. It just depends on the look you want.

000_3615

We then stamped our foliage into the jars, then began to create our flowers. There are beautiful flowers in the stamp set but when working with a large group of people, it wasn’t feasible to stamp each flower and then cut each flower out (one by one).

We used the “In Color Envelope paper” and the “Petite Petals” punch… together they created bright, pretty flowers that went quick and easy! There are 3 flowers below and then 3 that are popped up with a dimensional. To finish the flower we topped it off with a pearl in the center.

000_3619

You can find a bow stamp & dies in this bundle but we created our own with the new “Burlap” ribbon. I love this stuff … you can cut it lengthwise to create a narrow ribbon or pull it apart to get more of a “twine” look. Reminds me of grandpa’s farm!

We needed a greeting to finish off the card so we used the “forever friends” from the “First Sight” stamp set. This was carried over from the Occasions Catalog, so if you missed it then, you can still add this great set to your collection.

000_3615

I really do love the beautiful flowers in the Jar of Love stamp set, but sometimes you just need a “quick” card or a faster way to create multiple flowers when making a lot of cards.

Thank you so much for checking back with me today.

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Simply Sunday: You Make Me Happy

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Wooo … I got caught up in the preparations for my Hostess Appreciation Party tomorrow and almost forgot to share my card with you!! But here I am and I’m sure you will love this ridiculously simple card!

Let’s begin with our Designer Series Paper: Affectionately Yours Specialty Paper…

141632G

It is the core of our card today, however I teamed it up with the coordinating stamp set: Love and Affection. As always, I let the designer paper dictate my color pallet which is simply Night of Navy and Crumb Cake.

000_3598

Once the designer paper was attached to the Night of Navy mat, I attached that to a Crumb Cake base. I then stamped the flower and cut it out, then stamped the greeting, matted it with Night of Navy, then popped both up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

000_3605

Yes, a simple card but very cute … and there are several greetings with the stamp set or you can use something you already have.  You could make a dozen of these cute little cards in no time at all!

000_3601

Thank you so much for taking time out of your Sunday to check out my blog… it makes me “ridiculously” happy.

Have yourself a wonderful Sunday ~

Simply Beautiful Flourishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared with you my Alternative Paper Pumpkin project and I used the beautiful “Flourish” Framelits with it. Today I’d like to share a card that highlights the “Flourishing Phrases” stamp set that coordinates with the Framelits.

000_3503

The color pallet for today’s card is a simple Night of Navy and Whisper White, and works well with the “Floral Boutique” Designer Series Paper which we used on the bottom half of our card.

The floral stamp as I said comes from the “Flourishing Phrases” and was stamped in Night of Navy and matted with Night of Navy … this was popped up with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The cute little “Hello” comes from the “Jar of Love” stamp set and cut out using the “Layering Ovals” framelits.

000_3505

It really is a simple card to create but beautiful … you can even change up the look of the card, just by changing the greeting!  Try it, it’s amazing what a simple font change will do to a card.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of your card and your envelope. It looks so cool when everything matches.

Thanks so much for dropping by today.

Have a wonderful weekend ~

Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set: My Hero

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s “Celebrate” card I made from the “My Hero” stamp set, the Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set. This is an awesome stamp set and a great way to treat yourself while helping a wonderful cause.

On that note … I’m going to share a card with you each day this week for the “My Hero” stamp set. Today’s card is a nod to the 4th of July or to celebrate our service men and women.

000_3508

I used the “You are my Hero” stamp from the set and punched it out with the coordinating Badge punch. You can bundle these items and save 10%. The stars are punched out to highlight and draw your eye to the focal point.

The banners are created with our Triple banner punch … the Whisper White is embossed with the Star’s Embossing Folder and the Night of Navy banner comes from the Floral Boutique Designer Paper.

000_3509

If you take a close look on the inside, you will see that I punched a star out of the white to allow the Night of Navy to show through. This angle also shows all of the dimension and texture on this card.

A fun and simple card to celebrate the Hero’s in our lives.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card from the “My Hero” stamp set and some pics from the Kick Off party!

Enjoy your day, and thanks for stopping by!

Simply Sunday: You Warm My Heart

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today’s card is featured in the Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog on page 96. Had to take a double take on this one … then I thought “How cute is that! I would have never thought of doing that”. Isn’t that how we all got hooked on stamping and scrapbooking!!

This sweet and simple card was created with the “leaves” … now dots, from the “Sheltering Tree” stamp set! It’s stamped once on the card front and then again on another sheet of cardstock and cut out with our Hearts framelits.

Annual16_p096_b-265

The greeting is included in the stamp set, and all they did here was create as simple banner as the focal point … genius! To top it off … a simple bow made with our Thick Bakers Twine.

This card was picked today because it fits my Simply Sunday theme and because it was created with “outside the box” thinking! Next time I look at a stamp set, I’ll be thinking a whole different way.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the day!
