Inspired by friends …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I think I’m still giggling from last nights stamping club!  I like blogging but I don’t know what I would do without my face to face time with my stampin’ friends.  We laugh, we cry, we hug, then we laugh some more!

So today’s card share is inspired by my stampin’ friends.  I started this card over a week ago and could not get it together… I had all the pieces, but nothing looked right.  Last night, I pulled it together in less than 10 minutes.

000_0868

It began (a week ago) with the idea of spring and daffodils, and I love the traditional white with yellow center daffodils.  I embossed the image onto vellum cardstock and then flipped it over and sponged the white Craft ink onto the back using a Sponge Dauber (love those little things).  The center was colored in with the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

000_0828

Now … this takes a bit to dry so I was off to look for a background.   I chose the daffodil and slate striped design from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper.  Yes ladies, there’s that paper again!  I then created the leaves by folding some scraps in half and then cutting a long skinny leaf that resembled a daffodil leaf.

Once my flower was dry, I wanted to add a bit more dimension to the white, so I added some additional white to the front with the “Stampin’ Chalk Marker”.   Just bits of highlights, not too much.

After my stampin’ club members (friends) had gone home is when I pulled the card back out … I cut the center of another daffodil I had made, and added it to the one for my card.  Daffodils have those beautiful trumpet centers and I just had to add it.

000_0873

I chose my greeting, and it’s in honor of all my stampin’ friends “Laughter is the shortest distance between two people”… and hugs, they are a very short distance too 🙂

Thanks ladies for the inspiration, and I hope you all enjoyed today’s card share.

Give someone a smile today, make someone laugh or hug a friend and ….

Have an awesome day!

You make me HAPPY!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I showed you a card using the watermark stamp from the “Happy Watercolor” Stamp set, and I will share another card with you today using that watermark!

I also included a few more stamps from the set to give you a better idea of what a versatile stamp set it is.  You can find the “Happy Watercolor” stamp set on page 22 of the Occasions Catalog or by clicking on the link.

Once I chose the flower, I picked the color I wanted to work with and I thought 2012-14 In-Color  “Primrose Petal” was just what I was looking for.  The “Primrose Petal” mat was cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″.

000_0798

Next I cut the Whisper White to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and ran it through the Bigshot using the “Flower Garden Embossing Folder”.  Because I wanted the flower pattern on the left side of my card, the pattern is indented instead of protruding (or sticking up).  Next I cut out a circle using the “Circle Collection Framelits”.  You now have a window for your flower.

The flower was stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, using the Black StazOn ink … this is the best ink to use when coloring because it will not bleed.

I don’t color as much as I used to, and I don’t know why because it is so relaxing and fun to do.  I love layering the color to give the flower dimension.  I used the Primrose Petal ink from the ink pad and blender pen to do most of the coloring.  The center was done with the “Summer Starfruit” marker.  Both colors are found in the 2012-14 In-color Collection.  When competed, this was mounted onto the card front with the use of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Since I had the marker close by, I decided to dye my Organza Ribbon.  Those ladies who stamp with me a lot, know that the white organza ribbon is one of my favorites, because all you need is a marker or an ink pad and you can color you ribbon to match your cardstocks!  How cool is that!!

Ok … now my ribbon is off to the side to dry, so I stamped my greeting onto the card with the Black StazOn (let dry… it does not take long) and then I inked up the watermark stamp in Primrose Petals and stamped directly over the greeting.  It gives balance to the card … they call it a 3 point card (3 points of interest, that draw your eye around the entire card).

000_0802

Before mounting the card front onto the mat I added my ribbon, first the long strip, and then tying the second ribbon around it, to create the bow.  I’m sure any one of your friends would love to get this card.

I also want to share with you the…

Thinking of Spring …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today’s card share was created to inspire “spring” to begin!  I think most of our 50 states are ready, the East coast has been hit exceptionally hard this year.  For those of you in Arizona who are basking in the warm sunshine … we are jealous.

Enough with the weather report … and onto the card.  I made this mainly out of punches, except for a little greeting and stamping a bit of an accent.  I wanted the flowers to be the focal point.

000_0779

The flowers were punched with our “Pansy” punch.  I embossed the yellow using the “Decorative Dots” embossing folder (FREE Sale-a-bration item) and then punched them with the 3/4″ Circle Punch.  It adds some fun dimension to the flowers.

The stem was punched from the “Bird Builder” punch … some leaves were trimmed off, and then added onto the stem to complete the look.  It’s best to do this type of work directly on the “Silicone Craft Sheet” … I always use that when I am using my Snail adhesive on a punched images so small.  Keeps the adhesive off your work area (No more sticky mess).

I used the dot strip from the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set (also comes in a bundle with the Banner framelits) and the greeting comes from a new stamp set, Peaceful Petals.

000_0783

Can you guess what colors I used to create this card?  Let’s see how many correct guesses we can get.

I hope you enjoyed today’s whimsical card … I thought the flowers looked like they were dancing on a warm summer day!  (Wish I was there) lol

Have a Super Sunday!

Thinking of You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope today finds you well.  I was a bit under the weather yesterday and had to cancel my Stampin’ Club meeting.  I don’t do that very often, but found we had 3 members not feeling well either … so a big “Get Well Soon” to all my club members and any of you who are not feeling well either.

My card share today is a simple & pretty card … Thinking of You.  You don’t need a lot of supplies to create this cute card!  I began with my basic “Whisper White” for a base, added another layer of Whisper White – 5″ x 3-3/4″… this is the piece I will stamp my greeting on.

000_0755

For my square mat (I used Island Indigo) 3″ x 3″ and the Whisper White piece that is punched with the “Pansy” punch measures 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″.  I centered the white piece in the punch – making sure the white on the sides was even, and then lining the top of the cardstock to the top of the “Patent Pending” on the punch.

000_0764

I stamped my greeting “thinking of you” in Island Indigo to match my mat.  The greeting comes from the stamp set “Kind and Cozy”.  I find this stamp set very versatile … just ask my club members, we have used it several times.  In fact, we used it last month on our circle flip card, the circle in the set fits so nicely!

Now we can layer and embellish.  I popped up the stamped piece onto the base, the Island Indigo onto the stamped piece, and the punched piece onto the Island Indigo mat.  Yes … I popped them all up!  It looks so cool 🙂

000_0757

Once I had it all assembled, I added my embellishment.  Today I used the new “Basic Metal Buttons” found in the Occasions Catalog.  Then I threaded the Island Indigo bakers twine through the button and tied a bow (it is double threaded).  And yes, I popped that up with a Stampin’ Dimensional too.

Don’t you just love how simple this pretty little card is?  And you can do it in any color!  Just see for yourself ….

000_0758

I did this card in Melon Mambo.  I still used the “Basic Metal Buttons” but this time I embellished them a bit more with the medium size pearls.  I also added the smallest pearls to the greeting!

You really could do this in a variety of colors or … Designer Series Paper!  Go experiment and have some fun.

Thanks for stopping by today, and know I’m “Thinking of You”.

Have an awesome day!

Zero to Fabulous in 3 Easy Steps!

Hello my stampin’ friends ~

Today I’m going to share a pretty card that can be stamped in a matter of minutes, but first I wanted to share this funny poem one of my friends posted on facebook.

It so fits this weeks weather …

 993546_646666412042488_674246289_n

I do believe my fellow Wisconsinites would agree, and by the look of the cold front, many more states too!

OK… On to the card!  You will find this fabulously easy to make.  The greeting comes from the stamp set Million and One.  My color pallet: Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant.

 000_0667

The cute little flower border comes from a stamp that belongs to the “You’re Lovely” stamp set which is available in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I’ll share another card with this set tomorrow.

Are you getting excited?  Sale-a-Bration starts tomorrow!

Not familiar with our annual Sale-a-Bration special?  By ordering $50 in merchandise from any of our two catalogs or the Clearance Rack you get to choose from a wide selection of merchandise in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I’ll post the catalog here on my blog tomorrow, Jan 28th.

If you need a catalog let me know and I’ll send you one.  The FREE choices this year are awesome!

000_0671

NOW … to complete my card, I simply added some bling using our Rhinestones.  They really add a bit of sparkle to this card.  So … in three easy steps you can create this card. 1. Stamp 2. Apply Rhinestones 3. Assemble.

Stay warm and have a fabulous Monday.

Thanks for stopping by ~

Extending the fun … Technique!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you enjoyed your weekend… yesterday was filled with sunshine!  Just what our endorphins needed.

Today I would like to share with you a project that I did with my Technique Clubs this month.  They learned a sweet tip on how to extend the card length when using the Thinlit Dies.

I will also share two different Designer Series Paper and how they can change the look of a card.  My first card was done with the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper – a FREE product that can get with a Sale-a-bration purchase of $50 or more.  (Sale-a-bration begins January 28th).  Now that’s YUMMY!

000_0627_0001

I love how the “Needlepoint Border” folder matches the designer paper.  I highlighted the stitching by dragging the “White Stampin’ Chalk Marker” over the top of it.  It really completes the card.

I used “Crisp Cantaloupe” cardstock, but the photo is making it look a bit “pinky” …. sorry!

Stampin’ Tip to Extend Card Length …

000_0630

Slide cardstock underneath the circle area of the die – leaving the other side of cardstock “above” the die (See Photo)

000_0626_0001

When you have the cardstock over the top of the die, it will not cut… however, it leaves a nice score line for you to fold the extended card over.  It will fit into the envelope perfectly.

Here is a shot of both of the cards.  I promised the ladies I would post them both because some classes used the “Sweet Sorbet” and the other class used the “Watercolor Wonder”.  Both look amazing, but still very different.

000_0625_0001

I think you could put the “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper on any card and make it look good.  Here I just replaced the Basic Black punched circle with the “Tangerine Tango” … a suggestion from Richella.  I love the way it looks!  Thanks for the help Richella!

You will find the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper along with the “Perfect Pennants” Stamp Set in the Occasions Catalog.  I have listed supplies to create the cards at the bottom of the blog.

000_0570BB

I hope you can now extended the fun on your cards by using this little stampin’ tip.  It gives you much more room to write (or stamp on)!

Have a great day!

You Make Me Happy …

Hello My Stampin’ Friends,

How are you on this fine day?  I hope you doing well.

Last night I had one of my Stampin’ Technique Club meetings and we had a blast.  Lot’s of silliness and laughter, it was at times hard to stamp!  We blamed it on the full moon.

Today’s card share goes out to all my Stampin’ Friends … because you make me so happy! I really love my job as a demonstrator!

The card is cute and simple, and is a snap to make.

000_0523 blog

I paired up the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and Banners Framelit Dies.  Now add that to the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards and making this card is easy-peasy!

I picked the “polka-dot” card … there are 5 designs to choose from, because it just looked fun!  Who doesn’t love Polka-Dots?

I began by stamping my greeting in Smokey Slate and cut it out with the Banner Framelit.  Then I added another banner in Tangerine Tango – I chose the tangerine because it coordinates with the color on the card, and it draws the eye right to the greeting.

I simply finished off my card by adding a sweet bow with the Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon.

The Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards also come with envelopes, so you are ready to send out your card.

Simply You … & … Me

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I shared with you a glimpse of the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series Paper that will be available during Sale-a-bration, which kicks off January 28th.

Today… I would like to share with you another design from the “Sweet Sorbet” paper.  I want you to be able to see different ways the paper can be used in combination with some of our favorite stamp sets.

000_0596

I chose this fun and somewhat sassy designer paper and I thought of “you & me” … just think back on some of our discussions at our club meetings … right!

Well the next step was easy, and besides, I wanted to show you how fun the “Ampersand” embossing folder was to use.  I used “Pool Party” cardstock and the “Circle Collection Framelit Die” to cut it out.

The “You … Me” comes from the stamp set “Hip Notes”… it’s on page 18 of the new Occasions catalog.   This is the first time I got to use it and I’m so happy I can share it with you.

I cut the “You” and “Me” out using the Bitty Banner Framelits.  I also cut out 2 Basic Black banners out to act as a mat and give it that “pop”!  The card was secured to the Basic Black base for it’s WOW factor.

000_0598

I lined the envelope with the “Sweet Sorbet” designer paper using the “Envelope Liner Framelit Die”  which is currently on sale.

I must say, the card was really quite simple to make with the right tools, and so stinkin’ cute!  I want to let you know, that when I’m working with the “framelits” … I use the “Magnetic Platform” to hold them into place.  It is fantastic … no more slipping, and no more sticky notes!

6a00e54f9444b988330192aa89c31d970d-800wi

Please note that there are very  strong magnets in the platform and care must be used  if you have a pacemaker or such.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for stopping in today.

A Sneak Peek “Hello” with deals included …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hard to believe we’re coming up on the weekend already!  I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend planned.

So yesterday I told you that I would incorporate some of the items from the “Weekly Deals” into my card, well I am excited to say I did that, and included another Sneak Peek (yes, I spelled it correctly today)  Why is it that you never see the mistake until “after” you post / send your message.  lol

Today’s card share will show you another design from the “Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards” … I really love these!  They are so easy and fun to work with …. and they make us look like artists!

000_0506

The “Weekly Deals” that I have incorporated are the “Needlepoint Border Embossing Folders”, the “Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon” and the “Fancy Flower XL Punch”.  Three on one card … not bad!

I began with the Needlepoint Embossing Folder, and used that as the anchor to my card (the one item that ties everything together).

Next, I punched out 2 flowers from the “Fancy Flower Punch”  in the “Crisp Cantaloupe” and then sponged the edges with “Tangerine Tango” ink.   I chose the color pallet based on the colors that were included in the new “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper … I’ll show you that tomorrow!

I wanted a center to my flower, so I tied a knot in the “Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon” and pulled it through the flower. Then I added a ribbon banner to pull the color into the card.

000_0504

I added the 1″ circle of vanilla … after I smeared my greeting and had to punch it out and add the “hello” on vanilla!  You know what I say … there are no mistakes in stamping, just opportunities to change the card!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Don’t forget to check out the new items added to the “Clearance Rack Blitz”… just click on the link to check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a “Fantastic Friday!”

Hello Autumn …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’m going to share with you, my rendition of summer turning into autumn on a card.

I began with Whisper White layered onto Whisper White.  I took my top piece and created a “reverse mask” … take a piece of old or scrap paper and cut out a section that you can sponge and stamp.  If you are not comfortable cutting a mask with your paper cutter… you can easily create a “reverse mask” with the use of one of our many framelit dies or by punching out that area.

000_0225

Now … place your “reverse mask” and begin sponging, leaving the center a bit lighter to create a beautiful dimension on your card.  Next, you can stamp your image (please note that if you use cardstock, you will see it does not go to the edge).   I used only Wild Wasabi for the sponging and the stamping.  The color difference is all in the way you sponge … start light, you can always add more (but you can’t take away).  I prefer the regular sponges.

Remove your reverse mask, and you will have a beautiful design element on your card.  If you’d like, you could just stamp a greeting to complete the front.  However, since I wanted to show the transition to fall … I added my fall leaf.  I used the “Magnificent Maple” stamp set found on page 18 of our Holiday Catalog.   For the leaf, I began with So Saffron then did the rock and roll technique to edge the leaf with Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango.

000_0225

I added (sponged with sponge dauber) a little more So Saffron into the center of the leaf to make it “pop” a little more!

I used the “Happy Day” stamp set found on page 112 of our Idea Book & Catalog for my greeting.  To finish off the card, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to “POP” up the front piece with all the stamping.

Thanks so much for stopping by and welcoming autumn in with me!

Oh Hello card share …

Oh Hello my Stampin’ Friends!

Happy Friday to you … I hope you have an enjoyable weekend planned.

I will be having a wonderful weekend with some of you … Saturday morning with my Technique Club and Sunday afternoon with my Christmas Card Stamp-a-stack group.  It’s always a good weekend when you stamp with friends.

Speaking of stampin’ friends … today I would like to share with you some beautiful cards that I had taken photos of at Leadership last year.

Leadership is a gathering of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who have achieved the level of Senior Supervisor and above.  We share stampin’ and business ideas, receive training from the home office, and just have a great time hookin’ up with old friends and making new ones.

I do not know who that talented demonstrators are who created these cards, but I’m grateful that they share their talents.  The following photos are their creations using our “Oh Hello” Stamp set …

Aren’t they fantastic!  I love that we can see so many different stamping styles and color pallets.    So much inspiration, when we attend the Stampin’ Up! events.   You could always join us …. contact me!  I’d love to share with you the benefits you would receive as part of my Stampin’ Stars and the Stampin’ Up! family.

I hope you enjoyed the card share, and thanks for stopping by.

See you tomorrow!

Simple Sunday … FOR YOU

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  This Sunday we are going to keep it simple with my “For You” card.

Beginning today, and going through the week, I am going to showcase the “I AM ME” Designer Series Paper.  I was speaking with my friend Sandy yesterday and we were talking about how we both liked the “Modern Medley” DSP … so that got me to thinking about some of our other designer papers!

So, this week you will see a wonderful assortment of cards I made with the “I Am Me” Designer Series Paper and some of your favorite (and some new) stamp sets.

I AM ME DSP

Today’s color pallet is Whisper White and Calypso Coral.  All of the DSP colors are listed in the book and now … on the back of your designer series paper pack!  I love it, love it, love it!!  (DSP = Designer Series Paper)

I chose the “polka dot” paper from the “I Am Me” DSP and began there.  I teamed it up with the “For You” from the stamp set “Chalk Talk” on page 12 of the catalog … and my new stamp set “Gorgeous Grunge” found on page 109.

CHALK TALK - small    GORGEOUS GRUNGE - small

I received “Gorgeous Grunge” free at Convention this year and thought it was time I put it to use!  Splatter is all the “rage” in stampin’ these days, and I must say … it really did add to this card.

Now… I normally wouldn’t think of teaming up “grunge” with glimmer paper, but I wanted my “For You” greeting to POP, and it really did work!  I believe you can be as expressive and unique in your card making as you want to be.   After all … it is an expression on you!  Have fun with it 🙂

My Thoughts on Fall Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you are doing well.  I have had an exciting couple of days …

First, I sent out an invitation to my annual Holiday Retreat and it has filled within 36 hours of the announcement!  Holy cow, I feel like Garth Brooks … selling out his concert in record time.  I am so thrilled to be able to host my stampin’ retreats for you.

Second, I held my Christmas in July… Oops August Stamp Camp, and although we didn’t have the attendance we normally do – we had a great time!  There were great cards, door prizes, and the ladies got treated to a plate of “Candyman on Main” Chocolates!  I think my new job as manager of the candy store is a big hit!

Thanks to all who are signed up for retreat and those who attended the stamp camp!

Today I wanted to share a different fold style of card, with a fall flair.  With this heat wave we’ve been having, I’m looking forward to those “warm” … not hot days, and cool nights.

Speaking of “cool nights” … I used the “Sweater Weather” Designer Series Paper for my card.  I never favored the “Crushed Curry” before but it really makes this card pop, and works so beautifully with the Chocolate Chip and Tangerine Tango colors.

I used the “Falling Leaves” stamp set as my focal point … and the “Rock -n- Roll” technique to get the multicolored leaf.

The “Falling Leaves” stamp set is a “Two-Step” Stamp, so you’ll get two techniques in one!

Rock -n- Roll Technique:

** Begin inking up your solid stamp with the lightest color, I used Crushed Curry.  Then touch the sides of the stamp with your darker color –  in this case I used the Tangerine Tango.  Because my new pads are soooo new … they are very juicy, so I bounced my fingertip across the stamp to blend them a bit more.  Then I topped it off with the “detailed stamp / outline of leaf” with the chocolate chip.

Since I had a bit of ink left on my bold/solid stamp … I huffed (using your breath to re-moisten the ink) my stamp and stamped the image onto the inside of the inner card.  It comes out very light but adds a touch of color.  If you don’t want to huff, you can always re-ink and then stamp off.

Lastly,  I stamped “my thoughts” from the stamp set “Field Flowers” in chocolate chip.

So the “trick” to this card is quite simple …. it’s just a card inside (or on top of) a card!  The larger or “back” folds in from the left to the right, and the small or inner card folds from the right to the left.  You fold the larger flap over the small card (when open … like it’s shown above) and then the small flap is folded to close the card.

Sweet Music …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is a quick and simple post for a quick and simple card.  Inspired by the group of ladies who participated in my “Timeless Talk” class, I’m sharing another card using the paper design they suggested.

000_0105

They thought that this pattern from the Modern Medley Designer Series paper would work great with this stamp set … so here it is.  I think they are right, don’t you?

With a little help from my BigShot and the Circle Collection Frame-lits, I highlighted the phonograph.  This sweet but simple card would work nicely for a birthday or just to “send a note” to your friend.

I added a few banners from scrap pieces of the Modern Medley paper and tied it all together with the beautiful “Crochet Trim”.  Everything you need to make this card can be found in our current catalog.

Here is the list of ingredients to make the card:  You may click on the item numbers and it will take you to the catalog page.
