April Paper Pumpkin: Lovely Little Wreath

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It is my honor to share with you the following post from Stampin’ Up! that highlights the April Paper Pumpkin: Lovely Little Wreath kit.  I love the alternative projects they share in the post …

April_pp_web_shots-8_homepage (1)

Say hello to the Lovely Little Wreath! This adorable accent is the perfect addition to your springtime décor and makes a great gift for special occasions like Mother’s Day.

Usually we show three extra ideas for the kit, but this time our artist had so much fun that she came up with FIVE projects! So, what do a cactus, dinosaur, and Christmas have in common? Let’s find out.

PP_April_alt

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, right? It’s easy to turn the Lovely Little Wreath into a holiday décor item. Simply swap out the yellow flowers for holly berries and use a holiday stamp on the chalkboard sign.

PP_April_alt4

Next, with Mother’s Day right around the corner, add some festive foliage to create a glamorous gift box for Mom. Use the chalkboard tags and Very Vanilla Craft Stampin’ Spot from the kit.

PP_April_alt5

Raise your hand if you’ve picked up on the cactus trend. They’re everywhere, right? Create some eye-catching cacti with beautiful desert blooms with the extra flowers and leaves from your kit.

PP_April_alt2

The bent leaves on the branches pop right off this prehistoric card. And, might we say . . . the end result is dino-mite!

PP_April_alt3

Finally, keep it simple with a smaller version of the wreath to create a stunning centerpiece for a card front.

PP_April_alt1 (1)
It’s always amazing to see what you can do with your Paper Pumpkin kit. Whether you want to change it up completely, or just use up the extra parts and pieces, the end result is always fun! If you’ve fallen in love with the Lovely Little Wreath, be sure to stock up on refills, while supplies last.

How do you like the FREE All about Everything Stamp Set that came with your April kit? Check out our YouTube channel for some project ideas and then use #allabouteverything to share your projects with us.

Thank you for stopping by today …

Hope yours is a good one!

Spring Retreat Swaps …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share 2 of our swap cards with you, and as promised … I will show you the winner.

Our first card is from Peggy, she used the “Bear Hugs” stamp set …

000_3288

A sweet and simple card that will bring some lovin’ to anyone who receives it.

OK … while I was taking photos of my card share today, I had a little helper – my great grandson who wanted to climb up my pant legs and check out the cards close up! He loves being in my stamping studio.

000_3294

Our next card is from Linda K. She chose to use the “Flower Patch” stamp set. Oh, the flowers you can make with the images from this set! It’s got all the shapes and sizes you’ll want plus great greetings and several stems for endless possibilities.

000_3295

This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set, which gives you so many creative options–combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want, and the card Linda created was fabulous, and our winner!

000_3300

I will be sharing more cards from our retreat and from the ladies swaps as the weeks progress. It will be fun.

Thanks much for checking out today’s blog post.

Have a great day!

Spring Stampin’ Retreat Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As promised, I will share some of what we do when we are away at the Annual Spring Stampin’ Retreat we host for our stamping friends!

The first photo is a shot I took between stamping sessions, just before sunset. The porch you see on your right is our stamping room and the house of the left is where we stay.

IMG_20160423_193908

Now let me take you into the dining room. The mantle is decorated and ready for their projects… they will be making the Gift Bags on Friday night (after stamp session is over). They are that quick and easy to do!

After…

Here are their Friday Night Pillow Gifts  along with the yummy contents that were tucked inside.

~

We created a fun banner from the “It’s My Party” Designer Series Paper over the living room fireplace … the Green Lake Conference Center converted it from a wood burning to a gas … so with a flip of a switch – we had a warm inviting fire for all to enjoy!

The stamping room is set up and ready for our guests to begin ….

The next picture is just some fun that we have at our retreats …. These ladies did not know each other before attending our retreat, and have now become friends. That is the wonderful gift that stamping does when we all get together! Sandy and Kris come for some BFF time! It’s a great girls get-a-way!

IMG_20160423_174430

Here’s a few more of our ladies. The women (Peggy) sitting in the third chair down, hails from Oklahoma! She found my retreat post and decided to invite her daughter (Jen) for a bonding weekend! I LOVE IT!!  We have many “Mother / Daughter” groups (three this weekend) join us! Ann-Marie is the first of the three ladies … her daughter was away when the photo was taken.

IMG_20160423_174407

By the time I got to take pictures of all the cards – both samples I brought to share and the one’s we made, the light was so bright in the room, my pictures did not turn out well …

cards1

We made the “Card in a Box” and the “Drapery Fold” card on Friday night, showcasing the “It’s My Party” Product Suite. My goal is not only to show a technique or two, and give you beautiful cards, but to show you multiple ways you can use your Stampin’ Up! products.

~

Here is what one of our guests had to say about our Spring Stampin’ Retreat: Jen is hoping to get the dates early enough to make arrangements to attend this fall. We were both very impressed. We would rate everything an A+.

I am humbled and grateful for all of the wonderful ladies that we have met and attended our Spring and /or Fall Retreats. We’re are 5 years strong … and not planning on stopping anytime soon!

We always have a good time at retreat! I did notice one thing … I get so busy setting up for the next stamp sessions that I don’t ever take pictures of our delicious food, and not enough of the wonderful guests that have come to our retreats! That is definitely on my TO DO List!

I’ll be back tomorrow with some of the beautiful cards our guests made for our Annual Card Swap!

Thanks so much for stopping by ~

Have yourself a wonderful day!

Sweet Treats …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I come to you from the beautiful shores of Green Lake and our 1930’s English Tudor Manor where we’re hosting our annual Spring Retreat.

I am so excited because we have a guest that hails all the way from Oklahoma!! I am so grateful for all the interest and enthusiasm my stampin’ friends have for our stamping retreats.

I must admit, I love to spoil them … it’s a retreat! Time to relax, have fun, make some great projects and discover little treats!

Last night our retreat guests got to make some little treat bags, little did they know that when they retired to their rooms for the evening … they would find these!

000_3281

A simple box to create … I just added a sweet little tag from the “You’re so Sweet” stamp set, the Triple Banner Punch and some beautiful 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon (Some of these colors are retiring so you might want to get yours now before it’s gone).

000_3284

I have been blessed to share these stampin’ retreats with some of the most wonderful ladies, it has been such a joy.

So I guess you are wondering what we put inside these cute little goodie bags!  Well, I said, I like to spoil them …

000_3286

Inside each bag was a bag of fine chocolates: Two chocolate Artisan Truffles, a Sea Salt Caramel, and an English Toffee (we are staying at an English Manor) lol.

When I decided to host retreats, I wanted my guests to feel the way I did on a Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip … it is after all, my stampin’ friends who help me earn these wonderful trips.  So the idea of the “Pillow Gift” was paying it forward!!

000_3281

We are off to the stampin’ room for a full day of cards! Thank you for dropping in and sharing a piece of your day with me.

Have a wonderful Saturday ~

OH WAIT … Here are the instructions!!

TREAT BAG

  • Begin with a 6” x 9-1/2” sheet of cardstock
  • Place the cardstock horizontally (9-1/2” is across top of Simply Score board)
  • Score at 3” – 4-1/2” – 7-1/2” and 9”
  • Turn cardstock quarter turn (6” is across top of Simply Score board)
  • Score at 1-1/2” /  Fold & burnish score lines
  • Cut off ½” X 1-1/2” piece at score lines. This creates your tab for securing box.
  • Use cutter or scissors to cut the score lines that measure 1-1/2” then trim edges.
  • Using a strong adhesive on your tab, secure your bag together.
  • Fold in the 2 small bottom flaps then the 2 larger flaps. Put a strong adhesive on the last flap before folding it together.

Decorate as desired 🙂

Mini Album in a Box

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

168514_376447862410629_1769160088_n

I’m off to our Annual Spring Retreat nestled on the shores of beautiful Green Lake …

5834477_orig

I thought I would share this fabulous post by one of our Artisian Team members. This is such a cute idea,  I couldn’t help but share. This post is copied from the Stampin’ Up! blog “Get Inspired”.  Anyone can follow this blog – check it out!

So here is Rachel Grandin-Torchet / Artisan Design Team 2015–2016  , and her fabulous …

Mini Album in a Box

Lots of my friends are expecting little girls and boys this month, so recently I’ve been involved in a series of “baby projects,” creating little gifts which my friends will be able to use during their first year as moms of newborns. I hope these gifts will allow  them to keep memories of this year full of changes and emotions!

To make this project, I created a box using the Gift Box Punch Board (item 135863); the final box measures 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″. (Start at line “L” and fold on the “S” diagonal line.)

I used the 2-7/16″ square from the Squares Collection Framelits Dies (item 130921) to create a little window at the bottom of the box.

Then I created a mini album by cutting 3″ x 3″ squares from the following: Night of Navy Cardstock (item 100867), Whisper White Cardstock (item 100730), Window Sheets (item 142314), and Vellum Cardstock (item 101856).

I created one page for each month and decorated them with images from different stamps sets : Number of Years (item 140653), Project Life Hello Baby (item 138672), Made with Love (item 138662), and Be the Star (item 135731). I added supplementary pages so that they can add extra pictures or memories of those unforgettable moments.

Since I’m totally in love with Stampin’ Emboss Powder, I used it a lot in different colors, including Cherry Cobbler (item 122949) and Whisper White (item 109132).

Finally, I decorated the box with a nice little “ribbon” and a perfect bow that I made using the Bow Builder Punch (item 137414).

I really hope that you liked this tutorial and will enjoy this little project. Of course you can adapt it to your liking for any occasion or special event in your life.

Now, it’s your turn to have fun!

Throwback Thursday: Butterflies

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today we are stepping back to 2014. I’m sharing some of my favorite butterfly cards.  Enjoy…

000_0914

This one is sweet and simple. The contrasting butterflies make a bold statement … the larger butterfly is actually punched out of the vanilla and the Petite butterfly is set inside.

000_1364

Love this card! The Square Framelits and Flowering Flourishes stamp set are both retiring this year, as is the Blackberry Bliss which I used for the butterfly and flower. Oh I’m going to MISS that color!!

000_1094

This was a quick and simple card that I created with the butterfly punches and Washi Tape!

000_1316

This one was created using the “Kinda Eclectic” stamp set and the butterfly punches.  Whew … my “Kinda Eclectic” made it through to another year!  Love this stamp set and it’s versatility.

I love stepping back in time and seeing what I stamped a few years ago, love to see that they are still relevant and could be used today!

Thank you for sharing a bit of your Thursday with me.

Enjoy your day ~

To a Great Friend Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a card to share with you from the Stampin’ Up! files that is so cute and a cute stampin’ tip I didn’t want you to miss ….

Gallery_Sample_02.2015_This card is just full of fun techniques … First let me start with the “Irresistibly Yours” Designer Series Paper (the blue and white).

Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

It actually comes pre-embossed so you can make it any color you’d like! So whether you spritz the color on like shown in the picture above – and how they did it on our card, or use the sponges or sponge daubers … it’s fun and easy to create any color pallet you want!

The greeting comes from the “Simply Wonderful” stamp set (retired) and is stopped on a tag created using the “Scallop Tag Topper” Punch. What I loved about this and have never tried myself … was to turn the tag upside down!!  How cool is that … it created a whole new look!

Don’t forget my little “go to” flower punch from the “Itty Bitty” Accents punch pack. I add these to many of my cards to add a cute dimension. A little bling in the center and your set.

Gallery_Sample_02.2015_

Thank You for checking out my blog today. Please let me know if you have any questions on the card or the products that were used. Love to help you.

Have a fabulous Friday!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST…

Throwback Thursday: WOLF plus a Guest Stamper!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

We are past the hump and heading for the weekend … that’s always a good thing! Hope you are having a good day!

Today I’d like to share with you one of my favorite “wish I wouldn’t have sold that” … stamp set! The Wolf stamp set was always a favorite of mine, and so easy to use.

571d9fc91dcfa9f9e88a359699792639

I’m sure many of you recognize this stamp set.  If you’re lucky … you still own it!!

The card I’m showing you today, I demonstrated many, many times.

000_3277

The contrasting colors “Eggplant & Olive” really made the card pop! I also added the same color highlights with our “then” chalks (miss them dearly too!).   I then trimmed some of the edges with our “Deckle” scissors!  Am I bringing back some memories!?

We do still carry the Crystal Effects which really look cool in the wolfs eyes.

I also want to share a beautiful card that I received as a swap last Friday; Created by Bonnie K.  She did the “Dazzling Diamond Dust” technique on the card and I find it just stunning!

000_3279

Did you notice the embellishment wrapped around the “grosgrain” ribbon … more flashbacks from the past!  Such a pretty card.

I hope you enjoy my “Throwback Thursdays” … they are meant to inspire you to pull out your older stamp sets and use them again. It’s not about getting you to buy something, but to use your supplies and just enjoy the art of stamping ❤

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me!

Have a happy day ~

Class of 2016!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share with you a card that Stampin’ Up! posted by one of their Artisan stampers: Amy O’Neill (Artisan Design Team 2015–2016).

I’ve seen so many birthday and anniversary cards done with the The Number of Years Stamp Set (item 140653) and coordinating Large Numbers Framelits Dies (item 140622) that I thought this was just perfect …

1

Perfect timing and truly the first time I’ve seen a graduation card!  Love it… She began with a watercolor wash on our watercolor paper.

The “Congrats to You” sentiment comes from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set (item 138946) – one of my favorites.

Hope you enjoyed … thanks for dropping in.

Have a wonderful day ~
