Minnie or Mickey Card…

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m excited to share what I came up with from the “Embossing Paste” background I made on Tuesday night. I hope you got a chance to watch the video yesterday, if you did … you know that I’ve created a card with the “polka dot” embossed background. Using the embossing paste adds such a fun texture to your card.

Well my friends, I couldn’t decide how I wanted to do this … so I did two cards!! I mentioned that the background reminded me of Minnie Mouse, so I thought … How Cute Would That Be??

I am just tickled pink with how it turned out!! It’s all glitzy … the background was done with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste, Minnie is from the Black Glitter paper and the greeting is highlighted with “Wink of Stella”!!

I used the “bow tie” from the upcoming “Well Suited” bundle with the Red Foil paper. The greeting comes from the Toile Christmas stamp set and die cut from the Christmas Cardinal die set. The greeting banner was colored with the Garden Green marker to coordinate with the leaf that was cut from the Poinsettia dies.

I couldn’t stop there, I had to have a Mickey!!

Made the background the same as above … polka dot mask and Shimmery White Embossing paste, I love it!! Mickey was made the same as Minnie but the hair bow was turned into a bow tie.

I used the “celebrate” from a past Paper Pumpkin kit but felt that it worked perfect for this card. This is one of the biggest benefits of being a Paper Pumpkin subscriber. I die cut it from the Tasteful Labels dies…. same with the Black Glitter base.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I created with the polka dot embossing paste … I had a “HOOT” making these! I may end up using Mickey for my daughters birthday, she is way more into Mickey than she is a “foo foo” card!

Thank you so much for sharing part of your day with me. Join me back here tomorrow as I share the “lacey” background on the Peony Garden Designer Paper.

Enjoy your day ~

How to create your own “Glitter Paper” …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I’m back today to put a little “sparkle” in your day!  My card share today is an easy technique that I love to do when I need a quick card but want to jazz it up!  I will see how easy it is to make your own glitter paper.

I used the “Watercolor Wonder” Designer series paper, it is so pretty I just can’t keep my hands off this stuff!  Cut your designer paper to the size you want.  I decided to use it as my card front, so it measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.

000_0857

Place this on a scrap piece of paper and dab the entire VersaMark Ink pad directly onto your designer paper.  You could brayer the VersaMark on, but this is much easier.

Now I move the designer paper onto another scrap piece of paper, or you can use an embossing powder tray, because you will now cover the entire piece with “Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder”…. tap off any excess powder.  Now grab your heat gun and emboss!  You now have a beautiful …. designer … glitter paper!

My greeting comes from the “Friendly Phrases” stamp set, and I stamped it the the Crisp Cantaloupe ink.  This is also the color I used for the base of my card.

I repeated the embossing steps on a scrap piece of designer paper (is there scrap designer paper?  Maybe not) … I then punched out a butterfly using the “Elegant Butterfly” punch.  To finish it off, I added a small string of Rhinestones to the butterfly.

The greeting and the butterfly were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed the card share today.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  And a “Happy Birthday” to my daughter Sarah today!

Simply Wonderful …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Wooo Hooo … we are above zero this morning!!  I think that’s wonderful 🙂

Today’s card share is a card that I cased (Copy And Share Everything) from a swap I received at my Star’s downline meeting.  I believe it’s from my sister Eileen.

I used the “Retro Fresh” Washi Tape, and based on the color pallet used I stamped my greeting and center flower in Baked Brown Sugar.  The flower was stamped with So Saffron.

000_0751

Wow … it’s that easy.  The washi tape piece of cardstock measures 5-1/4″ x 4″.  I then started on the left side and began to apply my washi tape.  Next, I moved to the right side and applied the washi tape in the same pattern as the left … I finished the middle section last.  This helped me space out my washi tape easier.

The flower comes from the “Mixed Bunch” stamp set and was stamped in So Saffron.  I then punched it out using the “Blossoms” punch.  I know many of my club stampers have these two coordinating items, so if you have your washi tape … you are ready to make cards.

The center was stamped with another flower from the Mixed Bunch set and punched out using the 1″ circle punch.  The pop of color in the center is “Coastal Cabana”.

My apologies for the greeting, I did not realize that “Friendly Phrases” was retired until after I had my pictures taken and was ready for the blog.  My suggestion would be to use the beautiful “just because” from the stamp set “A Dozen Thoughts”.   I’ve used that several times already … the “just because” is one of my favorites.

000_0753

Don’t forget your Stampin’ Dimensionals because I “popped up” the washi tape section, the flower and both centers.  You gotta love how fun and simple this card is!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Have a wonderful day ~

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Well, the excitement of Sale-a-bration is upon us!  And, I did not forget that I promised a card share using the fabulous “You’re Lovely” stamp set.  It’s just one of the items you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration.

I also want to let you know that we still have our “Weekly Deals” going and this week we have some really great items on sale… more about that after my card share!

Today I used the “You’re Lovely” and the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series paper from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  With a $50 purchase (before tax & shipping) you can get either of these items for FREE … or choose from the other awesome products in the SAB catalog.  With each $50 spent … you may choose an item!

000_0674

I love that Stampin’ Up! added a touch of black into this Sweet Sorbet pattern because when you mat with the Basic Black it really creates an impact and makes a big statement.

I used the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the center of the design and popped it up with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I also popped up the entire piece to create additional dimension.  I will tell you that “IF” I had the “Deco Labels” Framelit Dies … I would have used them instead.  Now you know what I’ll be ordering soon!

Finally, I just simply colored in the flowers using the coordinating 2013-15 In-Color Stampin’ Write Markers.

Here is a list of the supplies I used to create this card …. just pick what you need, make sure it totals $50 and pick out either the stamp set or designer paper for free!!  Keep scrolling because I have also added the “WEEKLY DEALS”.

Guest Stamper … Connie H.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

The weekend is here, and looking at the weather reports for Wisconsin … it maybe a three day weekend!  They’re predicting lows of 30 degree’s below zero for Monday afternoon. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

If they close the store again … I’m hoping to get some extra stamping done.  Sweet!

Today I have a guest stamper … my friend and Star member Connie.  Each year I host a demonstrator retreat where the girls from my group, the Star’s, get together and swap cards, stamp, chat, laugh, and have a whole bunch of fun.

This is Connie’s swap …

000_0651

She used the Sketched Birthday stamp set, that we received at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference last year.  She teamed that up with the “Epic Day This and That” Designer Series Paper.

The greeting was punched out using the 1-3/4″ scallop and backed with Gumball Green Core’dinations Paper.  Connie used the Window Frame Collections die to cut it out and embellished it with the cute little 1/8″ mini brads.

You will also see the “Needlepoint Border” Embossing folder was used to create additional texture to the card.

Now … if the front of this card isn’t cute enough, check out the surprise inside …

000_0654

Isn’t that sweet!  What a nice surprise for your birthday!  The cupcake was made with the “Cupcake Builder Punch.

I must say, our demonstrator retreats are a lot of fun, and I always come home with fabulous cards from the girls.  I thank Connie for this one.

Thanks so much for joining me today.

Have an awesome weekend ~
