Retiring: Varied Vases Card Share …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Welcome to May and to a Varied Vases card share.  Today I’m sharing several samples of cards.  These cute little vases come with beautiful flowers … it will help to bring out the inner florist in you!!  And so many great sentiments to compliment your artwork.  Follow along with me today and check out all the different styles you can create with this versatile stamp set.

The “You are simply the best” card highlights the vase by sponging on the background and then simply stamping the flowers. The pretty Grapefruit Grove In-Color is another item on the retiring list.

The May Your Heart card uses both the Varied Vases and the Here’s a Card Stamp Set (item 149438). Adding a greeting set always gives you more options!

Let’s take a look at everything included in this stamp set…

You have several different types of flowers … the orchid is my daughters favorite.  I like the use of the vases on this next card ….

This “style” of card looks so retro and fun! Layering the vases with solid and lined images really adds dimension to your card.

The “Hoping Your Day Blooms with Happiness” card is totally different … it used just the flowers to create a fun background, that will highlight your sentiment.

The next is one of my favorites …

Starting with the beautiful Soft Sea Foam card base sets the tone for the card … stamping a little to create an interesting background gives you dimension.  The designer paper draws your eye to the focal point, and the Pearlized Doily (also retiring) really makes the white orchids pop!!  I also love the way they cut up the greeting … it adds dimension and texture to the card.

Safe at Home: Follow Your Art

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

It appears that yesterdays Best Catch card was a big hit on Pinterest! It’s gratifying to know that your cards are enjoyable. Today I have a card for you that highlights your creativity and love of crafting!  The Follow Your Art suite is filled with coordinating products that showcase how you love to craft … from sewing to ink refill bottles!

Today’s card was created at one of our Stampin’ Up! events, I love attending any and all of them as they are so inspiring and well … FUN!  I’m missing my stamping sisters (and brothers). We just found out today that they have cancelled our Leadership event and … the Incentive Trip to Maui. Achievers have the opportunity to go next year.  Anyhow, back to our card …

Our card base was stamped the buttons with the coordinating Bermuda Bay ink to create some depth to the card.  Our next step was to attach a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Follow Your Art Designer Series paper.

Our next step we stamped the “ribbon” image onto Whisper White and then colored with the Stampin’ Blends. So easy to use. Once our coloring was done we added a Blushing Bride mat to the back, which also coordinates with the designer paper.

We stamped our greeting and attached a Bermuda Bay die cut piece … this will pull they eye towards the focal point of the card. To really make it pop, we added another pattern of designer paper from our suite.

I don’t know about you, but I have been using my crafting as a way to cope with not engaging with my family and friends.  I will say though that I have learned how to Face time!! You can feel free to reach out to me anytime … we’re in this together ❤

Thank you so very much for “virtually” hanging out with me today.

Have a wonderful and creative day!

Two for Tuesday: Best Catch Cards

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry I missed you yesterday (Technical problems) however I have two for you today!  We are all looking for masculine cards and I have two today that should fit the bill … Best Catch. I must say though, girls love to fish too!! That is a wonderful memory I have of my Grandpa, my Dad … and my Mom.

My first card will take you to a slow running stream where the sun hits the ripples of the water and creates a sparkling dance.  Don’t you just love the sound of water … it’s so calming.

The card is “almost” monochromatic … Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue.  The reason I say “almost” is because I’ve added a touch of Balmy Blue to the water, and the rest is shades of Early Espresso.

We began with stamping the trees across the background.  The oval on the card is actually “cut out” so it recessed on the card front.  Our fisherman is popped up and has dimension and sits within a fun frame.  And added the basket and greeting to balance out the card.

These are the items I’ve used creating these cards …

My next card is a “Double Z Fold” Card …

Double Z fold makes great cards that add so much “fun” and the inner piece can be made in any size … best of all, they fold down to fit perfectly into your standard size envelopes!

This card front picks up where the other card left off … the catch!!  The inner piece has our greeting and the back flap is lightly stamped to be used for your sentiment. When all folded up, you will not see that at all.

The front of our card picks up where the last card left off … the catch!!

Sponging a little Balmy Blue on the background to give you a watery effect and our fish puttin’ up a good fight! The fish and cattails were colored with assorted Stampin’ Blends. The blend so beautifully on the fish and make our cattails dimensional, without “real” dimension.

If you like this fishing side of life, make sure you pick up the Best Catch stamp set and Catch of the Day Dies … they are both on the retiring list.

Hope you enjoyed today’s cards and maybe it brought back some wonderful memories for you as well.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy the day ~

Simply Sunday: Saying Goodbye to Lilypad Lake

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have two cute cards that may bring the feel of a warm sunny day … and for me, a touch of sadness as I seeing a stamp set and dies retire. It’s the beautiful Lilypad Lake bundle, and I wanted to create that “lake” feel … I hope it takes you to the warmth and wonder of the lake.

I cut out my background in Whisper White with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (also on the retired list) … This will create the focal point, and was sponged with Balmy Blue.  The sun was cut from the dies included in the bundle.

Our bird was stamped and then cut again with the coordinating dies.  the water is also a die that we cut in Balmy Blue … before we attached it we covered that entire area on the sponged white with our Snail adhesive.

The bottom 1/3 of the piece was coated with the Snail (retiring but being replaced with something better!), then we laid the die cut (which I’m using as waves/water) onto the piece … once secure, we dipped it into the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (another item on the retirement list) and WOW!!  We just pushed the glitter down onto the Snail to hold it better … It looks so cool.

Here are the core / retiring items that I have used on my cards today.  You can click on any item to check it’s availability … Order through me and I will pay the tax on your order during April.

Stampin’ Supply List …

My second card, also a sparkling water image, is how I’d like to social distance.  Actually … I should be saying goodbye to my retreat attendee’s instead of training at work, but I felt it was socially responsible to cancel my stamping retreat 😦  I am missing my ladies … and this view!

The water was simply stamped onto our card front, the boats were stamped die cut and colored.  Our shimmery lake comes from the assistance of the “Wink of Stella”.

The beach was sponged on to make it look like sand … and the relaxing Adirondack Chair comes from the Seasonal Layers die set (again … retiring!)  You should get a good feel of what you can create with this beautiful stamp set.

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Make sure you come back each day this week as I will be featuring some very special cards and projects!

Have a beautiful day ~

Come Sail Away … Guest Stamper: Brenda M.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a masculine card and a 8-1/2″ x 11″ Suite Sampler for you.  So join me (virtually) and we’ll sail away on an open course to creativity with the Come Sail Away Product Suite.  The artsy maritime Designer Series Paper, stamp set, and coordinating dies come together perfectly to help you feel as if you’re relaxing on the cape. With some Baker’s Twine and Sail Away Trinkets, you can make handmade cards for everyone on your list, no matter where they are in their journey. With this suite you’ll soon see the endless possibilities Come Sail Away has to offer!

My background has one of the designs from the Come Sail Away Designer Series paper, and is adhered to a Night of Navy card base.  My sail boat and greeting are both stamped with Night of Navy on Sahara Sand cardstock.  I used the coordinating Balmy Blue cardstock which pulls the color out of the designer paper.  I embossed it with the “High Seas” 3D Embossing Folder that is included in the suite … it adds movement and texture to the card.

Also included in the suite are the Bakers Twine and Sail Away Trinkets which embellish the card so nicely.  The bakers twine ties the colors together and the “helm” or “ships steering wheel” adds some fun dimension to the card and ties nicely with the greeting which was die cut using the circle dies.  The lighthouse and birds were stamped on the inside of the card to create a little interest when writing your note.  Besides … I love lighthouses!

Now … if you would like to view a “Sampler” of the Come Sail Away Suite, set your sights on this beauty, created by my friend and Stars team member .. Brenda Morateck.  Brenda used both the Come Sail Away and the High Tide Stamp sets.

Creating “samplers” … home decor pieces are really “HOT” right now, and from looking at Brenda’s, I can see why.  I will most definitely be casing her work, I just love it!! It’s going to be hung on the wall next to my Lighthouse collection.

This was the first thing that I ordered out of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog … I’m hoping this does not retire, but I do know that the 10% SAVINGS of purchasing the “Suite” or the “Bundle” will be gone with this catalog.

Thank you for joining me today, hope yours is a good one.

See you tomorrow ~

TODAY’S STAMPING SUPPLY LIST … These items can also be found on pages 144-146 of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog.  If you click on any item, it will take you to my stamp store where you can get more details or begin your shopping.  Thank you.

Ornate Garden Suite Early Release

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

OH … the border dies and beautiful!! And the flowers are blooming right on time.  I can’t wait to get my hands on on these!! Let take a look at some of the samples …

You will see a nice selection of what is included in the product suite on this card.  The beautiful designer paper is blooming with color!  The delicate die cut mat behind the greeting, which is then highlighted by some stamped images and adorned with the beautiful ribbon.

This pretty card shows off the pretty embossing folder, upon that is layers the stamped floral arrangement.  The greeting is embellished with some of the cute die cut flowers and all tied up with the ribbon.

This little cutie was created with the designer paper and then lightly colored. The flowers dance across the card with this edgelit die … one of my favorites!! There is just so much you can do with this suite.

Here is a list of all the goodies inside this “early release” product suite: The Ornate Garden …

This is your first official peek at a product from the new annual catalog; and you’ll be able to buy it right away! So don’t wait. Be the first to have this early release suite from the upcoming catalog so you can start making beautiful cards to share with your friends & family!

Simply Sunday: Colorful Hugs Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend … whether it’s just another day or a well needed break.  Today I have two cards to share with you that highlight the 2018-20 In-Colors.  I took out my bin of scraps and came up with these quick -n- easy cards.

I had a lot of left over 1″ strips of cardstock so I thought it was the perfect way to showcase our out going 2018-20 In-Colors! I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and attached my 1″ strips to it.  I did 5″ width because I have 5 In-colors x 1 inch strips = 5 inches!

Once I had all the cardstock attached, I trimmed off the excess and added a simple bow using the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  Then I mounted my assembly onto a piece of Basic Black to mat the assembly and make the colors really pop!!  The card front was now mounted onto the Whisper White card base.

Now it was time to add my hearts … I punched the mat / Scalloped Heart from Vellum Cardstock.  Our greeting from the So Sentimental stamp set “Sending Healing Hugs” is perfect for the time we are in right now, and was stamped with Lovely Lipstick from our 2018-20 In-Colors.  The hearts were attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some depth and texture to the card.

Now, if you want to step it up a bit, here is another sample to punch it up …

The basic layout is the same as the first card except before the bow is added, I ran it through the my embossing machine with the Tin Tile 3D folder. This just added some fun to your card, and with so many embossing folders to choose from, you’re sure to find something that fits your theme.

Once I embossed it, I added the ribbon but with a twist this time!!  I layered the ribbon with an end on each side and then tied the Grapefruit Grove ribbon around it to create a pretty “fluffy” bow!! The greeting / hearts also remained the same.  So as you can see … it didn’t take much to add a little more pizzazz to your card. Great texture and eye appeal.

A list of the supplies used today …

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and another way to use your 2018-20 In-Colors, or any scraps for that matter.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and thank you for joining me.

Celebrating the 2018-20 In-Colors

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have the 2018-2020 In-Colors … a reminder that these pretty colors will hit the discontinuing list in a few weeks!!  We will be saying good-bye to Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel …

Each card is stamped with it’s coordinating color and embossed with the Lovely Floral embossing folder (DISCONTINUED) … Sorry!!

I know many of you have told me these are some of your favorite colors because they are so close to the basic / primary colors.  I’m going to keep reminding everyone that NOW is the time to get your colors … and don’t forget the ink refills … you will want them and you won’t want to find them on ebay later for 10x the price!

LOVELY LIPSTICK: I simply love this fun new color! It’s not quite red or hot pink but somewhere in between to give you a fun … sassy red!

GRAPEFRUIT GROVE … I don’t know how to describe this color other that it really looks like the wonderful grapefruit color you see when you slice open a juicy grapefruit .. YUM!!

PINEAPPLE PUNCH … and speaking of YUM, who doesn’t like pineapple? This color is a soft, sunny yellow that will just bring a smile to your face.

CALL ME CLOVER … Callin’ all lovers of green, you will definitely fall for this one, just like laying in a patch of clover on a warm summer day!  Hmmm … does that bring an image to your mind that makes you want to match this up with another new color? Let’s just wait and see!!

BLUEBERRY BUSHEL …  Another yummy color, this warm blue will really remind you of pint of blueberries. I am really liking this one!

Are you in love with the new In-Colors yet?  I am going to miss this color pallet … it’s new and fresh and complimented our color line.

If you haven’t wandered over to the CLEARANCE RACK yet … you might want to hurry, some of them goodies are going fast.  These are sold at discounts up to 60%.  The retirement list is on it’s way but some items will not be discounted.

I want to thank you for joining me today and taking time out of your day to share it with me.

I wish you a colorful day filled with fun!!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Friday’s Fun Fold with Instructions …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

How are you doing this fabulous Friday? I’m actually doing quite well … I’m back at work but only during the morning hours when the store is closed, so I’m home in plenty of time to get things done! So the studio is cleaned and I got a cute fun fold for you today!

I’ve done this fold before and it’s easy to do and just a little different than sending the same old flat card (those are pretty too!).  I used the “Love What You Do” stamp set in Grapefruit Grove … one of the In-Colors that will be retiring this year.

How would you like some instructions?  OK … Let’s do this!  … oh my!! I forgot to put my Early Espresso Base on!!

  • Cut your card base (It will be on the next picture) 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
  • Folded (Grapefruit Grove) cardstock: 9-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ then Score at 2-1/2″ and 5-1/2″
  • Inside (Very Vanilla) cardstock: 5″ x 3-3/4″
  • Fold Grapefruit Grove piece in have (at 5-1/2″ score line)
  • Then fold “back” your piece scored at 2-1/2″ so its over the top and the edge is to the left.
  • Either die cut or punch 2″ through the folded piece (slightly less than 1″ from top) Die cutting is easier than punching!
  • Emboss the front piece (ONLY) Bring your folder to the score line and run it through your embossing machine.  I used the Layered Leaves 3D folder.
  • Glue the Scalloped Lace trim onto the back of the embossed edge (Let Dry).
  • You can either glue the flap down at this time, or leave it open to add a little more drama to your card!
  • Set your vanilla piece inside (do not glue yet) fold flap over so you can determine where you will stamp your flower.  I place my finger there to hold the spot before I fold the flap back over … then stamp.  If you are a “perfectionist” … draw a light pencil mark around your punched opening so you know exactly where to stamp. Then erase the pencil line.
  • Color in your flowers … be careful, I used Early Espresso, this will smear when coloring with the marker. I was just very careful.  Otherwise, you can use the Momento ink pad. Add a touch of the Wink of Stella to give it a little sparkle!!
  • I did not measure my cardstock for the greeting … I stamped it onto a scrap piece and cut it to fit.
  • Finish card by adhering the vanilla to the inside, and card front onto the Espresso base.

Here is the sample with the Early Espresso base attached…

The Espresso base really makes the card “pop” and it ties in the Early Espresso mat behind your greeting and your stamped image.  I forgot in my instructions the Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon on the banner. That too will be retiring this year 😦  Love the 2018-20 In-Colors.

I prepared a list of ingredients for you as well …

Supply List

I can’t believe it’s Mid-April already!  The retirement list will be coming out soon, so I like to remind my friends that if they need any of the retiring inks / colors to pick them up before the list goes out.  Just the clearance rack … when it’s gone, it’s gone.  One more peek at that cute card … with or without the base?? lol
Thank you so much for coming over to my blog today! It’s fun to spend some time with you, just wish it was in person!!
Our “Safer at Home” has been extended to May 26th!! I’ve been practicing on Facebook so I can bring you a live stamping session! There is a video of my stamp room on there from yesterday.
Have a great day ~

A Few of my Favorite Things ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share several beautiful cards from my favorite things on the Clearance Rack, well … a few of them anyway.  This clearance rack is packed with amazing new items, and if you missed them in the catalog … now if your chance to get them (and on sale!!) Oh yes … I’ll pay your tax in April too!!

I’ve changed up the greetings on these some of the samples so you can picture using them anytime of the year.  Let me start with the Starlight Thinlits Dies … anything with “Star” in the name is a pretty sure bet that I’ll be buying it … My Team name is “Stars by Design”!!

For me … Stars can be added to any card!! Birthday’s, Christmas, Graduations, Promotions & more!!  Here we are encouraging an up ‘n coming musician … be a star!

Next I’d like to highlight the amazing Mercury Glass Designer Acetate …

This is a fun acetate that makes great Christmas cards but I think it would also be perfect for a 25th Wedding Anniversary …Silver!!  I will tell you there is a protective film on one side which you will need to remove if you want to punch designs out.  I’ve also seen demonstrators “heat emboss” on this … just remember to use a light hand.  Practice on a scrap piece of paper.  Here is my card ….

Another favorite is the Wrapped in Plaid Designer paper.  You’ve already seen a few cards this week featuring this pretty paper …

Now I’d like to share another!  Green and Gold does not have to mean Christmas … We are Packers fans!! Besides, a little gold glitz goes a long way. This may look a little Christmassy but there are many other colors and patterns (see above) that can be used for any occasion.

Another die I really used a lot …

Don’t let the “snowflake” in the name fool you… I used them along with the lacy background to create a soft feminine card to let my friend know “her friendship is priceless”.

When you see these items on the Clearance Rack … think outside the box.  They don’t have to be used just for snowy holidays, create all year long with them!  Nothing wrong with getting your money’s worth out of your stampin’ stash, and they’re on sale!! Even Better 🙂

Thanks for checking out a few of my favorite things!  What are yours?

Have a great day.  I’ll see you tomorrow with something “FUN”!!

April Showers & May Flowers …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

As the saying goes “April Showers brings May Flowers” … certainly true in our gardens! Today’s card has both, a hint of showers with a bouquet of flowers! I’m using another pattern from the beautiful Tropical Oasis designer paper and teaming it up with the sweet little boots from the March Paper Pumpkin kit.

Before I get started … I also want to let you in on some amazing information! First, the May Paper Pumpkin kit is going to include the new “2020-2022 In-Colors”!! I’m so excited that you will get your hands on the new in-colors before they are released in the upcoming new Annual Catalog!!

Second bit of information and just as exciting is … Stampin’ Up! has updated the Clearance Rack!! There are some amazing new items (I’m actually purchasing some to create a fun class!). I’ve posted some of my favorites on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page and I’ll have some with card samples here for you tomorrow!!

Like yesterday’s Gift Card Holders, today’s card was recreated from a “card pack” I had sitting around.  Here is the original card ….

Did you notice the pretty paper on this card?  You can see it above on the Clearance Rack listing.  It is the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper.  It is on sale right now!! They’ve just added to the Clearance Rack.

Today’s card uses the left over card kit and the Tropical Oasis designer paper I had left over from yesterday’s card!!  I try not to let anything go to waste!  I’ve also incorporated the two stamp set from last months Paper Pumpkin kit.  The color pallet was inspired from this pair of rain boots …

I bought these boots for my sister Ruthie as she battled Pancreatic Cancer.  The boots represent a story between sisters .  When I was 9 and Ruth was 12, we were walking home from school in a terrible snow storm.  I was little first grader, crying, and my feet were cold … I had a hole in my boots.  My sister Ruthie gave me her boots!! So … as she bravely fought her battle against cancer, I brought her the boots and told her that I was there for her, and it was her turn to walk in my boots She would not walk alone.

Although my sister Ruthie was capable of amazing things, she lost her battle to Pancreatic Cancer 7 years ago.  It’s amazing how a stamp set can make such a heart connection. I’m sure you have a stamp set that pulls on your heart strings as well. These cute little boots were fun and easy to color!  I love that Paper Pumpkin gives you exclusive stamp sets (these are very special to me). The little bit of bling added to this card are from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones … the add the perfect touch!

Wow … this post is not only full of information but a story too!  I hope I didn’t overwhelm you. I’m here to answer any questions  you may have on the Clearance Rack, Paper Pumpkin or switching up my cards.

Thank you for hanging out with me today. I’ll meet you back here tomorrow and show you some of my Clearance Rack favorites!

Have a wonderful Wednesday ~
