Sunshine to Brighten Your Day

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Are you ready for more Circle Sayings? This card will bring the Sunshine to Brighten Your Day and will leave you yearning to hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Yesterday I shared the Sea Shells with you … today, the waves, and I will be combining the Patchwork Pieces dies into the card.

Let’s begin with out color pallet; I wanted the feel of the ocean and all it’s beautiful blue/green tones; Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, Tahitian Tide, Pool Party, and Lost Lagoon dance across this card. You will have to cut one of each of these colors but then you’ll have enough left overs for 5 more cards!!

My card base is Coastal Cabana and then I matted with Azure Afternoon 4″ x 5-1/2″. For the layers you will cut one of each; I began with a 3-7/8″ x 5-3/8″ of each color. CENTER your die onto your cardstock … this way you can use the “frame” if you want to. I did on this card.

Now comes the fun part … choose the colors in a pattern that you prefer. I began with Pool Party, then Lost Lagoon, followed by Coastal Cabana, Tahitian Tide, then Azure Afternoon and the small piece on the bottom is Lost Lagoon. Experiment and have fun creating your color scheme.

Before I secured my layers down with the Tombo Liquid Glue, I used a Sponge Dauber to sponge on some Craft White Ink to make them look more like waves rippling through the ocean. It also created a softer transition between colors.

Next up was my waves from the Circle Sayings set. I simply colored this with my Lemon Lolly and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends, but then after it dried, I added the Coastal Cabana from my Stampin’ Write Markers as there is not one in the alcohol based blends yet. Then I added some Shimmery White Embossing Paste to my wave!! Talk about texture… I love it!

I punched out my design with the coordinating 2-3/8″ punch from the Circle Sayings Bundle. The Coastal Cabana mat was die cut from the Reach for the Stars bundle.

I attached my stamped image with the Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some added dimension to the card. The greeting “Sunshine to Brighten Your Day” comes from the Sending Smiles stamp set and was stamped with Memento Ink to coordinate with our stamped image.

The fun color pallet and texture of this card will leave you feeling inspired. Happy Stamping and have a wonderful weekend!

Sending Sandy Beaches & Seashells …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With the weekend just around the corner, are you dreaming of sandy beaches and pretty sea shells? Let me help you with that … a little inspiration that you can stamp and send pretty cards that reflect these emotions. As promised, I am using the Simple Sayings stamp set …

Hope you got a chance to watch my video from yesterday that showed a tip for easily stamping your images in a perfect circle. If not, CLICK HERE TO WATCH! I love these seashells and used the designer paper as my guide for coloring … Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, and the Medium and Medium Light Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. You could have so much fun and use some blues and aqua colors to!!

My card base is Petal Pink with an Early Espresso mat on the Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper. I used this pattern / design because it reminded me of the pretty plants the float in the oceans. I used the Stylish Shapes to cut all my circles out, and cut the Early Espresso right from my mat so I didn’t waste any paper!

I used the Layering Leaves stamp set for my greeting, and stamped it in Early Espresso onto Vellum cardstock. You either have to let this dry for a while, or heat set is because the ink is actually sitting “on top” of the vellum so it takes longer to dry.

To attach it; I rolled up the Mini Glue Dots and hid them behind the greeting so you could not see them through the vellum. The stamped shells are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to create some dimension and texture on the card.

So … does this remind you of the beach? Just wanted to share some inspiration for using different colors and designer papers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. If you enjoyed today’s card, please give a LIKE by clicking the button at the bottom of this post.

Celebrating Circle Sayings Bundle …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have two cards for you from our Circle Sayings bundle and featuring the Delightfully Eclectic designer paper. I’ll share my Video replay of last nights Facebook LIVE along with close up shots of both cards. The video demonstrates the different stamps included in the set and the punch from the bundle.

Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite brew and sit back a spell and join me for this short video … it has some fun tips on how I use the Circle Sayings stamp so they align the way I want them to.

We’re going to start with the quick & easy card that is just stamped, colored and punched out. I use Memento Ink when I combine my coloring with the Stampin’ Blends. In the video you got to see a highlight of my coloring technique … also easy!

The second card demonstrated in the video showcased the technique of using a template to align your half stamps to create a full round image. To enhance the imagery I used scraps behind it … easy, resourceful and clever! lol

And just a little reminder about the 24-hour Stamp Sale today! All Stamp Sets in the Annual Catalog are 15% OFF today before 11:59 MT.

Hope you enjoyed today’s video and cards …. I will share another one of my Circle Saying designs with you tomorrow. Till then, have an amazing day!

Two for Tuesday Cards & Stamp Sale!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

We’re going to have some fun today with Two cards for Tuesday and a fun new Stampin’ Up! promotion. Let’s begin with the great news that was just announced … A STAMP SALE!

If you’ve had your eye on stamps from the 2023–2024 Annual Catalog, then we have some exciting news! On 19 July, these stamps will be 15% off for 24 hours (this offer does exclude host stamp sets). You heard us right, for one day only you can snag your favorite stamp sets for a stellar price!

Amazing right … all the stamp sets in the Annual catalog (the big one) are on sale for one day only. PLUS … While you are shopping, don’t forget the Clearance Rack. It was just updated recently, and that brings me to my 2 cards for this Tuesday!!

Both cards were created with the All Together 6 x 6 Designer Series paper …

I wanted to show how fun and versatile that this black & white paper can be. You can see more cards samples HERE from a previous post featuring the All Together Paper.

Tomorrow when you begin your sales shopping; you can use this link: https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=PJ4UWCQB If you are spending more than $150 – Do Not use this link because you will qualify for Free Host Benefits & more!!

Both of today’s cards were “jazzed” up with my Stampin’ Blends! My first card is a fun Autumn card and I used the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends to add a strip of color between the stripes on the designer paper ….

I used several items from the Stargazing Suite; the Designer paper and the dies! The fun pumpkin was created with both of those items … all I did was sponge the edges of the circles to create an illusion of depth. The greeting was also cut from the same designer paper pattern than I cut the circles. The “celebrate” comes from the “Wanted to Say” dies.

Next up is a Christmas Card ….

This plain black & white background was transformed by my Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends … just drag your marked across the designer paper / I didn’t even use a ruler, it’s all free hand and easy but creates a fun colorful background. It is adorned with the trees and snow from the One Horse Open Sleigh Bundle.

National Ice Cream Day Birthday Card!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy National Ice Cream Day!! We’re going to celebrate using the Share a Milkshake stamps & Dies, along with the Wanted to Say Dies. What’s your favorite flavor? Today’s treat consists of a waffle cone with a scoop of vanilla, chocolate and topped off with raspberry! YUMMY

My cardbase is Early Espresso to coordinate with my chocolate ice cream, or if you’re a Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream fan (out of Madison, WI) we call that deep rich chocolate; Zanzibar! My background is the Stargazing Designer paper and matted with Basic White. The cone is made from the Pecan Pie cardstock.

The Happy Birthday base or mat, is also die cut from the Stargazing designer paper and then topped off with the Basic White … a touch of Wink of Stella on our Happy Birthday. Just like building our cone! A few Berry Burst Tinsel Gems (4-pack) to embellish our cone … or you could call them “sprinkles”.

Making ice cream cones is pretty easy with these few ingredients and soooo tasty looking too.

Enjoy your Sunday and I hope you get out and grab some ice cream to celebrate National Ice Cream Day.

Thanks for joining me for a cone!

Patchwork Pieces Dies are Out of this World

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have a fun card for you … let me just say that the Patchwork Pieces Dies are Out of this World. I have been playing with these dies ever since they arrived on my door step earlier this week. I used them for my club projects so I’m sure the members are going love to see this one.

I began with the “burst” pattern (on the right above). As you can see there are two different patchwork pieces patterns included in the set. I then chose the Stargazing Designer Series paper, and die cut it. If you haven’t see that designer paper yet ….

I cut my designer paper to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and picked one of the pretty galaxies in Blueberry Bushel / Night of Navy. When you cut your patchwork pattern, it leaves a frame, so I make sure to center the die on my paper. On this card I used the frame, on other cards you will see in the near future I may or may not.

I glued the frame onto a piece of Basic White measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. My die cutting machine does not cut all the way through, the center stays in tact (yet pulls apart easily) On today’s card I used that to my advantage and once centered within the frame I glued the center down.

Then I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on every other panel, and glued the others down. This gave me a lot of dimension & texture to the card… and it looks cool!! It looks as if it’s reaching out to you!!

I used the greeting from the Reach for the Stars stamp set and heat embossed it with the VersaMark and Silver Embossing Powder onto Vellum Cardstock. I used one of the dies from the “All That” set of dies.

Mounting it onto my card was a bit tricky because you see everything through the vellum, so I used the Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems 4-Pack to embellish the greeting and then I cut the dimensionals down to fit underneath so you couldn’t see them!

I will admit, I sure am having fun with these dies. Such a different twist to “regular” cards. I don’t know if it’s retirement and that fact that I can just “play” but I’m truly enjoying being in my stamp room!!

Hope I sent some inspiration your way to get into your craft room and play today!

Have a great weekend,

Color & Contour Card Tutorial

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a card to share that comes direct from our Stampin’ Up! offices. The featured bundle is Color & Contour and the card highlights some fun Colors; Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CARD

1. Cut a piece of Pale Papaya Cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″ (10.8 cm). This is your card base.

2. With the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, use the Scalloped Contours Dies to die cut a scalloped rectangle shape (4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″; 11.4 x 8.3 cm) out of Very Vanilla Cardstock (5″ x 4″; 12.7 x 10.2 cm).

3. On the lower right-hand corner of the Very Vanilla die-cut piece, stamp the “You’re absolutely amazing” sentiment from the Color & Contour Stamp Set using the Mango Melody Classic Stampin’ Pad®.

4. On a 4″ (10.2 cm) square of Very Vanilla Cardstock, stamp the open-line floral and stem image in two places using the Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad. Then, stamp the coordinating Two-Step filler image in Fresh Freesia over both open-line images.

5. Run the coordinating floral and stem die from the Scalloped Contours Dies through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut both floral and stem images.

6. Cut a 9″ (22.9 cm) piece of Linen Thread. Combine the die-cut floral pieces to create a bouquet, wrap the thread around the stems, then tie a bow.

7. Adhere the bouquet to the scalloped rectangle piece using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals®. Then, adhere the scalloped rectangle piece to the card base using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and inspires you to try this layout … thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Hello, Irresistible Suite: FUN and Easy Embossing Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m sharing a video I recorded a while back highlighting the Hello, Irresistible suite and a FUN and Easy Embossing Technique. I’m pleased to see that all of the items in this suite are still available in our Online Exclusives. I’m also sharing an alternative design using Black Ink verses the White Embossed flowers you see in the video …

This suite is so fun to work with and the flowers … well, they are perfect for so many techniques. Embossing is one of my all time favorite techniques because it adds an elegance and texture to your cards, and when you combine it with a touch of ink … you get depth too.

I used the designer paper for the background and to cut out the leaves, so if you are used to embossing or die cutting, you will find this card pretty easy to recreate. Overall, I would give it a medium rating.

Now for the “Black” ink card. I used a lot of the same materials and the dauber technique as well. I cut the leaves out as I did on the first card but used the “other” awesome die in the bundle. Check this out …

The card base is Basic Black and cut 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″, and the second black piece is cut to 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and then die cut with the circular die. The card front is Petal Pink (same as the small flower) and measures 4″ x 5-1/4″.

And this time I added the “purple” adhesive dots for my purple fans! Both card were fun to make and somewhat similar but they really look different! I love it 🙂

Hope you enjoyed today’s cards, and thanks to those who came over to my blog from Facebook to check it out.

Have a great day … Linda

Quick & Easy Cards featuring the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have three Quick & Easy Cards featuring the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper. I will also be sharing the video replay of my Facebook LIVE last night. You’ll hear me talk about the “third” card in my video … can’t wait until you see it. Let’s begin with the video for those of you who did not catch the LIVE.

I also thought I would share the cards here as well so you can get a better look. The first card is super simple to make and I love this “looking down view” on this designer paper. This pack of designer paper is full of amazing patterns.

The second card is not hard to make and looks so cool when you have a landscape pattern like we have here. Remember, this is only half of the paper because each strip is 1″ wide. The Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight really pull the blue tones out of this paper … Wait till you see the what I did with the other 3 panels!!

Since I pulled the blue tones from the first of our designer paper panels, I decided to pull out the pinks and yellow on my next card.

The base is Basic Gray because I love how it looks with the Petal Pink. I also used it to mat my designer series paper panels. Just the the other card, my panels are cut 1″ x 5″ ….

The Petal Pink was cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then the Lemon Lolly; 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ then was cut diagonally. I then attached the Lemon Lolly to the Petal Pink and ran it through my embossing machine using the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

The panels are now attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Do you see those leaves on the One Horse Open Sleigh designer paper? I decided to take this paper into autumn and cut out some leaves using the Around the Bend dies in Copper Clay. So pretty.

The Smoky Slate cardstock was stamped with Misty Moonlight with my greeting and then die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. It was attached to the panels and then adorned with the Copper Clay leaves.

The designer paper may be called “One Horse Open Sleight” but you can use the gorgeous paper in so many ways …. just have fun!! I love the way both these cards turned out, great way to use one sheet of designer paper.

I hope you got a wave of inspiration with today’s cards, and I thank you for stopping by and hanging out with me for a bit.

Have a great day ~

Favorite Things II

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a few more items on my list of favorite things on the Clearance Rack … I will also be showing you the #1 Buy!!!

I’m going to start with a “tasty” find and a die I love to use!! The striped background die is worth the money alone …. and if you are worried because the coordinating designer paper is no longer available for your candy canes, not to worry … I used the left over strips from the large die to make my own candy canes and I love the texture it provides.

The first card used the background die with the Red Glimmer paper … We’ve got some fun paper in the annual catalog or you can find some on the Clearance Rack as well. Don’t forget what I told you about those candy canes!

Did you know that you can easily layer the background die back 2 back to create a crisscross pattern … just check it out below. By the way …. I think those banner dies are on sale too!

I couldn’t leave the Leaves of Holly stamp set off my list. My house is adorned with holly every Christmas … even decked out my entire tree with holly garland one year! I simple love it.

This card really highlights the stamp set, done in Night of Navy and Balmy Blue to show you don’t always have to go the green and red route. Add a little glimmer paper and blending brushes and you have a stunning card.

Now for my next product, I actually have 3 together because surprisingly enough … all 3 of the Splendid Day items in the Clearance Rack … a rare find!! AND my #1 BUY is the Splendid Day “Specialty” Designer Paper for ONLY $2.25!!

The Splendid Day 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper is a beautiful way to add a touch of elegant imagery to your papercrafting. You can use it as a background on scrapbook pages or card fronts, or cut smaller accent pieces to add interest to your projects. The soft, leafy images will add grace to all types of projects. One side of each sheet is foil with white printed accents.

Foil colors: copper, Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Soft Sea Foam

The card above was done in Early Espresso with the Copper Designer paper along with the stamp set stamped directly onto the cardstock for a dimensional look and then the leaf dies in the basket die. I love this card.

The second card is done in the Soft Seafoam ….

So easy to make beautifully elegant cards with this specialty designer paper, stamps and dies … You can buy all three for less than what you would have paid for the dies alone! Check out the Splendid Day products today. Don’t forget it’s BONUS DAYS … for every $50 you spend, you will receive a Bonus Coupon for $5 to spend in August!

Thank you so much for joining me today. Remember … I go LIVE tonight at 6:30 CT on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page.

Hope to see you tonight. Have a great day!!

Favorite Things: Clearance Rack

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~ Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite items from the Clearance Rack. I’ve already shown you the All Together Designer Paper, so lets see what else is on my list!

First up …. I had to pick the cute little Scottie Dog Punch

Here’s a cute Christmas card using the Scottie Dog punch ….

If you would like to see how I created the holiday pattern on this card CLICK HERE. I have another card sample for you … Halloween and using up some of my scrap designer paper.

Since we’re talking Halloween, let’s look at the Scary Silhouettes Dies ….

Here is a fun card that I created with these dies and a watercolor wash background ….

I have one more product to show you today along with several card samples; the Rustic Harvest Designer Series paper ….

You will notice that these sheets have colorful designs on one side, and black and white on the other. If you look back at my Halloween Scottie Dog you will find some of these patterns on that card too!

My first card uses the black and white for the background, then with my blending brushes, just added some color!

The next card shows how you can bring the color level up a notch (or leave it just the way it is) I used the Stampin’ Blends because the work so well on designer paper too ….

And the last card highlighting the Rustic Harvest Designer paper, shares the before and after using the Stampin’ Blends on the Dahlia’s ….

So many uses for this paper …. take it beyond Harvest time and use the black & white for any occasion … grab some ink or markers and discover the possibilities!

These are just three of the great finds you will discover while shopping the clearance rack … I noticed that my favorite “Glitter Washi Tape” had already sold out! I will be tomorrow with a few more that I just loved using!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a happy Monday!

Playing Happy Birthday to You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends & Happy Sunday! Today is a fun card that is Playing Happy Birthday to you! Piano and musical notes included. With a few simple runs through your Cut & Emboss machine, you can have this done in no time at all.

In basic Black & White, just like the keys of the piano still makes a statement. I ran the Basic White 4″ x 5-1/4″ through the embossing machine using the Merry Melody 3-D Embossing Folder. While your machine is out die cut a circle out of the piece you just embossed. I used the Layering Circle dies but they have since retired. You can use the Stylish Shapes circle dies or the circle dies from the new Reach for the Stars Bundle.

Using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink … stamp the piano from the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set on a piece of scrap that is about 3-1/2″ square, this will give you a little wiggle room to center it nicely. Of course you want to “stamp” your piano in the center of your square. Also stamp your greeting.

Using the same size circle and one larger circle … cut out your frame for your piano, then die cut your greeting with the banner from the Stylish Shapes dies. I cut a black one too, then cut it in half to make a fun and creative mat behind my greeting.

Then all you have left to do is assemble your card! Piano behind the embossed white piece, frame around the opening, and then your greeting. Fun and easy to make card!

I hope this inspires you to send a little music into someone’s life. This was much better than me singing happy birthday! hahaha!

Have a great Sunday my friends ~

Triple Time Technique: Season of Cheer Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a sweet card that invites you to take a walk into nature. I’m using the Triple Time Technique on today’s card with the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper and the New Nested Essentials Dies. So simple to make but with a very dramatic effect.

Ready? Pick out your favorite pretty paper pattern and some fun dies. I used two dies for my card, you will also need a sheet of coordinating cardstock. I am using Early Espresso …. cut in half 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ then score at 4-1/4″ for you fold.

Next we will cut your 6″ x 6″ designer paper down to 4″ x 5-1/4″. Position your dies evenly onto your designer paper and run it through your die cutting machine.

Use your extra cardstock to “mat” your die cut designer paper …. I actually glues my die cuts directly out of the designer paper and fussy cut around it, but if your a bit more of a perfectionist, you could line it up in your paper cutter and trim it to your desired width. You can see that mine is not perfectly even but just as effective.

Attach the outer piece of designer paper directly to your cardfront, then you’ll align the largest of the two die cuts to the pattern of the paper … I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach it, then you’ll do the same with the smaller one.

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting directly onto the designer paper. Yes, I know that’s risky but the photopolymer stamps make it so much easier! I used the bronze snowflakes from the suite to complete it. Again, super simple to make yet it has such an impact!

Thanks for hangin’ out with me today. Enjoy your weekend, I’m entertaining two of my great grandchildren ❤ so much fun!
