My Hero Recap …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy 4th of July!!

Today I just wanted to post a recap of all the cards that I created so far, using the NEW My Hero Stamp Set. I will share all 7 with you today …

000_3508

Ronald McDonald House Charities®

Stampin’ Up! partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Each year, we design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership with RMHC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the each sale of that set. To date, more than $1,000,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

000_3527

Stampin’ Up!’s demonstrators are also encouraged to volunteer their time teaching local Ronald McDonald House guests the creative art of rubber stamping through the Making a Difference program. Demonstrators also create cards at training events which are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Those staying at the Houses then use the cards to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

How you can help!

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Our homes are filled with more than help, they’re filled with hope

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of

their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

I appreciate you staying with me to learn more about the Ronald McDonald House Charities. It’s a foundation that touches my heart, as our children are our future. I’m proud that Stampin’ Up! is a RMHC partner.

Have a safe and wonderful day ~

Time to Celebrate!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m really excited as I pack up all the Make & Takes, Displays, Snacks and more for our Catalog Kick-Off party tonight. I’ll share pictures with you, but today you’re going to get a sneak peak at one of the special cards created for our “My Hero” stamp set board.

The My Hero stamp set is this years Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! donates $3 for each stamp set we sell, so I created 7 really cute cards to showcase how versatile this set is … two of which are Make & Takes, the other 5 will be raffled off at the end of the night!

Today’s card is the “Celebrate” card and I teamed it up with the totally fun “Festive Birthday” Designer Series Paper and Festive Impression Embossing Folder …

000_3529

The designer paper and the Crushed Curry and Tempting Turquoise cardstock just scream … Fun! Fun! Fun! I turned them into banners using our “Triple Banner” punch, then I added the new “Enamel Shapes” to anchor the end of the banner.

This card is just waiting for the party! Are you ready?

Thanks so much for dropping in today.

Enjoy your Monday.

Did you see it? It’s a Sneak Peek …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to give you a little sneak peek into my Catalog Kick Off party on Monday! We will be featuring many of the fabulous new stamp sets, designer papers, accessories & embellishments … far too many to list.

The “sneak peek” is a card I created using two great stamp sets; the “Jar of Love” found on page 75 and the “Bunch of Blossoms” on page 69. There will be many more at the party but I pulled one out of the collection to share with you …

000_3494

I began with the jar, then stamped my stems and greens onto the page.  I then stamped my flowers … they are double stamped and then punched them out. I used the star shaped flower to create the base of my blossoms.

I adhered the bottom of the bloom with my snail but then popped up the top of the bloom with a stampin’ dimensional … it really adds a neat dimension to the card.

I added water using my Aqua Painter and the Marina Mist ink.  Once it dried … I added my bow using the Old Olive Bakers twine. I felt the color matched nicely with the Blushing Bride and Pear Pizazz.

000_3498

The greeting comes from the NEW Layering Circles Framelits… too cute!

You still have 2 days to RSVP … the deadline is Friday night. I will not be taking any more reservations after that time, so don’t delay.

Have a great day today, and thank you for stopping by.

Better Together with Swirly Bird!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope this Saturday finds you well. It’s a bit warm here in Wisconsin – hitting in the 90’s with some of that fine humidity! It appears summer is right around the corner and I know some of you have been waiting for this!

Speaking of summer, I have a cute card for you that fits right in! Picture a warm summer day sailing across the cool waters …

000_3450

I created this card with the absolutely “fun to play with” Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Bundle! With the 4th of July right around the corner and “blue” such a nautical color – I chose the new “Dapper Denim” and teamed it up with Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.

000_3457

The greeting and verse used on the card come from the very versatile stamp set, Better Together. I am using this stamp set for both of the cards shown today. You can also see a variety of the words used in this prior post – CLICK HERE to view.

My second card was cased from another demonstrator, but I turned it around and added my won touch. Isn’t that what we all do? The catalog is your first reference for card samples 🙂

On this card I used the swirly from the framelits and the flowers and dots from the stamp set. This card highlights the new “Flirty Flamingo”. I teamed it with Smokey Slate, Whisper White and the elegant Silver Foil.

000_3453

The silver swirl draws your eye to the greeting “Just a Note” which is anchored with the cute little bow made out of the new “Flirty Flamingo” Ruched Ribbon. The rhinestones really tie the card together with that little touch of bling.

000_3455

We brought the stamped patterns from the card fronts, and repeated on the inside of the card and on the envelopes! Just ties it all together so nicely. Both of these cards were created for my June Technique Stamping Clubs … we are now done for the year but will be starting up again in September.

000_3459

Would you like to join us? I have a few openings in my Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday Morning groups. I will also be starting up a Monday night group and a Saturday afternoon group.

Stop back tomorrow and I’ll show you more samples and give you a few more details. Till then, have a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Fancy Fold Card: Masculine

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Welcome to my blog and welcome to the weekend! I am really excited because I am leaving tomorrow to begin my vacation / stamping getaway! While basking in the beauty of Door County Wisconsin, we will also be catching up on some stamping (I did get a few items from the new catalog pre-order … I love being a demonstrator!)

Speaking of getaways … Today’s card share comes from my 2016 Annual Spring Stamping Retreat. It was one of several masculine cards that we made. The minute I saw the “Into the Meadow” stamp set, I knew I had to have it. We will be combing a fancy fold with the watercoloring technique for a truly stunning card.

000_3402

Don’t you just love it? Although I didn’t have time on today’s blog for a full tutorial on this card, I will post one in the near future for you.

I stamped my image in StazOn onto the Thick Whisper White cardstock (you may use the watercolor paper, but we did not for this project). I used the Aqua Painters and the ink refills *colors listed below, to simply watercolor my images. Stampin’ Up! makes me look like an artist!

The “You Are Totally Awesome” comes from the stamp set “Grateful Bunch” which comes from the Occasions Catalog, which ends soon; May 31st!

The card stays nicely closed by tucking the top flap under the pretty “Antique Brad” from our Annual Catalog. This item will be retiring so if you like it … Don’t forget to place your order before they are gone for good…. May 31st.

000_3403inside

The brad is secured to the Marina Mist cardstock which was embossed with the “Chevron” embossing folder to give it some added texture. Our base card is Basic Black.

000_3405-open inside

As you open the flap you will see additional stamping and watercoloring (on the Thick Whisper White) The inner or top flap is mounted on the base which was covered in this cute pattern that is found in the “Cherry on Top” Designer Series Paper Stack! That is a fun pack of paper!

I love how the 2 pieces of the card interconnect folds … it’s like a note card on a big card meshed together to create one fun card!

000_3402

Keep an eye out as I will be posting a tutorial on “how to” make this style of card. Till then, I hope you enjoyed.

Have a great weekend, and be sure to stop back tomorrow to see a new card share from my Simply Sunday series and a fun announcement!

Thanks ~

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Guest Stamper: Janet Z

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a great “Man Card” for you that comes from Janet Z. and our Spring Stamping Retreats Attendee Swap! You’ve seen a few of the other cards from our swap already.

Let’s start with the stamp set “Guy Greetings” found on page 98 of your current Annual Catalog.

Janet used the antique car and cut and matted it using the “Deco Labels Collection” Framelits … this created a great focal point of the card. The greetings she used all come from the “Guy Greetings” stamp set.

000_3347

The designer paper really shows off the antique car nicely.

Something Janet did for the swap which I though was genius was to leave the inside of the card “unattached” because she stamped two greeting (one on each side of the cardstock) Happy Birthday and Happy Fathers Day … this way her fellow retreat attendee’s could use the card for the occasion that fit them best. I just love that idea!

This is why I love swapping and stamping with other stampers … we all share so many wonderful ideas!

Thank you Janet for the wonderful card, and thank you for checking out today’s blog post.

Have a wonderful day!

Butterfly, Blooms & Birthdays …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share one of the cards that our attendee’s made at our 2016 Annual Spring Retreat. My goal for our projects is to share different ways that you can use your stamp sets and accessories so they create a better value for you.

Today’s card truly demonstrates that goal …

000_3325

The Bloomin’ Love bundle was one of the stamp sets and accessories that we highlighted at this retreat and we used the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die in a very different way! We used it as a pattern behind our butterfly!

Using the beautiful Wisteria Wonder cardstock for our card front, we cut out our butterfly shape from the Bold Butterfly Framelits, and then tucked the beautiful lace heart behind it.

(Don’t forget what I told you about bundles … current bundles will not be bundled in the upcoming catalog. Save 15% by purchasing your bundles before May 31st) Please use Hostess Code: HEESBTSZ

We embossed our birthday greeting from the stunning Rose Wonder stamp set (also has a bundle)

We also embossed the flowers which come from the Grateful Bunch stamp set (another bundle) and added them to our card. The flowers were attached at different heights by popping some up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

000_3330

Oh yes we did … we added a strip of the rhinestones to create our butterfly! Each of our flower centers also got a rhinestones! In fact, our attendee’s could add as much as they wanted because they each got a full package of rhinestones included in there projects bag.

So … did we inspire you to become creative with your framelits and thinlits? They are so much fun to play with.

Thank you for stopping by ~

Have a beautiful day!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

Two for Tuesday: Stampin’ Retreat Card Swap

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have two beautiful cards created by two of our retreat guests! Each retreat we host a card swap/contest … they make the cards, they vote, and the winner gets a Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate from me.

Our two retreat guests featured today, both used the Butterfly Basics stamp set. Let’s begin with Peggy K’s card – This was Peggy’s first Stampin’ Retreat of mine and she came all the way from Oklahoma!

000_3321

A simply beautiful card … I love the pop of color Peggy used by adding her blue butterfly. I’m not sure if that is Lost Lagoon but I can see she used the Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. Fabulous color combination!

Did you know that the Butterfly Basic stamp set bundles with the Butterflies Thinlets? Remember, that even though the stamp sets and thinlets will carry over into the new catalog … they will NOT be bundled, so if you like it … purchase it before May 31st.

Our next card comes from Sandy B. and she has attended 6 of our annual retreats; both the Spring and Holiday retreats!

000_3322

Sandy also used the Butterfly Basics Stamp set and Thinlits Bundle, however her pop of color comes from the Two Step Stampin’ stamp set; Watercolor Wings. This stamp set also coordinates with the Butterfly Thinlits … gotta love the way Stampin’ Up! coordinates several different products to make our purchases a real value!

The black die cut butterfly that tops the “watercolor” butterfly is very striking and really draws the eye to the center of the card.

We love hosting the card swap at our annual retreats … everyone always goes home with extra cards with totally different styles and stamp sets.  They are a blast, and if you haven’t tried one yet, you should think about it!!

13015377_1104781879593906_8625598346345425789_n

AMD … said “I can’t believe the projects get better at each retreat! We enjoy meeting all the new people and have so much fun.”

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me, I hope the ladies cards inspired you as much as they have inspired me! I love my job! It is all about sharing and building relationships.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY HIGHLIGHTS:

“Birthday” Card in a Box!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I am going to share with you another of our Spring Retreat Cards. It’s a “Card in a Box” created with the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper and Balloon Celebration Bundle.

I’m going to let you in on a money saving tip … Items that are in the Occasions Catalog as bundles may be in the upcoming 2016-17 Annual Catalog – but they will NOT be bundled, so if you like any of the bundles in the catalog … snag them up NOW and save 15%.  Again, they will not be bundled, this is the “largest” discount you will get on these items.

000_3314

There are several different ways and dimensional layouts out there to create the “Card in the Box” however I like to demonstrate and share the easiest way to create projects and cards. Life is just more fun when we aren’t stressing over such things.

We started our project just like you would a 2-4-6-8 box. Once the box was adhered together we used the back as our area for writing our greetings. All other flaps were decorated with the different patterns of designer paper.

We punched out the balloons with the “Balloon Bouquet Punch”. On this card I stamped the balloons with the dotted balloon image in the stamp set to create more dimension.  I also added a white highlight with the chalk marker and then added a light, even coat of Crystal Effects (retiring!) on my balloons. This gave it a nice sheen.

000_3318

Our birthday greeting was die cut from the “Party Pop-Up” thinlits dies out of the beautiful “Dazzling Diamonds” Glimmer paper! The entire card is quite dramatic and a favorite of my grandchildren!

If you would like the instructions and “a card in the box” … just place an on-line order of $25 or more. I also have a monthly deal that if you order $35 or more, you will receive directions & a minimum of 1 sample from my Monthly Technique Club projects!  If you can’t choose between the two … you can get both by placing a $50 or more order in May.  Please use Hostess Code: HEESBTSZ

Retirement List

Don’t forget to check out the RETIREMENT LIST located on the right side bar of my blog and get the items you need before they retire on May 31st … especially Bundles and Ink-Refills (the markers and other items are already sold out).

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to visit my blog.

Have a fabulous day!

Today’s Stampin’ Supply List …

Simply Sunday: Botanical Birthday

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m here today with a pretty and simple card that made a big hit at our Annual Spring Stamping Retreat. Sometimes less is more, and still makes a big statement …

000_3311

Today it’s a Birthday Card, created with the Exclusive Hostess Stamp set; Happy Birthday Everyone. As a hostess stamp set … it will be retiring and gone for good at the end of May.  In fact, everything except the Mint Macaroon cardstock and inks are retiring.

Our greeting is stamped in Mint Macaroon and complimented with Cajun Craze. The colors were picked from the designer paper; Botanical Gardens. Mint Macaroon was also used for the base of our card and a banner along with a Cajun Craze banner.

000_3308

The banners were spotlighted with the pretty “Botanical Gardens Jewels” … so pretty and really adds a nice touch to the card. The entire greeting was raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add a bit of dimension to the card.

Sweet and Simple … this describes our card to a tee!

Thank you for joining me on this Sunday ~

Have a beautiful day!

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST:

Throwback Thursday: WOLF plus a Guest Stamper!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

We are past the hump and heading for the weekend … that’s always a good thing! Hope you are having a good day!

Today I’d like to share with you one of my favorite “wish I wouldn’t have sold that” … stamp set! The Wolf stamp set was always a favorite of mine, and so easy to use.

571d9fc91dcfa9f9e88a359699792639

I’m sure many of you recognize this stamp set.  If you’re lucky … you still own it!!

The card I’m showing you today, I demonstrated many, many times.

000_3277

The contrasting colors “Eggplant & Olive” really made the card pop! I also added the same color highlights with our “then” chalks (miss them dearly too!).   I then trimmed some of the edges with our “Deckle” scissors!  Am I bringing back some memories!?

We do still carry the Crystal Effects which really look cool in the wolfs eyes.

I also want to share a beautiful card that I received as a swap last Friday; Created by Bonnie K.  She did the “Dazzling Diamond Dust” technique on the card and I find it just stunning!

000_3279

Did you notice the embellishment wrapped around the “grosgrain” ribbon … more flashbacks from the past!  Such a pretty card.

I hope you enjoy my “Throwback Thursdays” … they are meant to inspire you to pull out your older stamp sets and use them again. It’s not about getting you to buy something, but to use your supplies and just enjoy the art of stamping ❤

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me!

Have a happy day ~

Guest Stamper: Linda K.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sorry I missed you yesterday but the flu bug caught me … not surprised with the weird weather we’ve been having! One day it’s almost 70° and the next it’s 34° and slushing outside … YUK!!

I’m sure that all of us here in Wisconsin are wondering where Spring is?? Even the robins look confused!

Anyhow … I have a special card I’d like to share with you today, it’s a Birthday card I got from one of my stampers: Linda K.

000_3275

Don’t you just love the big bold flower! It is amazing what we can do with punches. The layers of browns are beautiful and then the pop of Delightful Dijon (or may have been More Mustard) really draws you into the card … Love it!

This is an easy card to make with just a few punches, but with the detail in layering, Linda made this card look stunning. You’ll also notice the pop of the newsprint designer paper … so handy to have around because it works great on so my types (man, women, birthday, etc.) and styles!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share as much as I did receiving it!  Thanks again Linda for such a beautiful card, and to everyone else who reached out on my birthday. Much appreciated… sure know how to make me feel special.

Have a wonderful day today ~

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Just for You ~

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m back with a dazzling birthday card for you! Today’s card is full of fun and ready to party. It all begins with the “It’s My Party” Designer Series Paper.

So many fun patterns to work with and when you team it up with the “It’s My Party” cardstock pack you could have endless cards … just add a stamp set! I used the Botanicals for You stamp set in the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

000_3188

I highlighted the designer paper by adding Silver Glimmer paper as a mat. It just adds enough sparkle to really make the card shine. Speaking of shine … I added stars which I created with the Star punch and framelits.

Stampin’ Tip … To create the double layer star like you see on my card, punch the small star out of the Silver Glimmer paper and then use the smallest framelit to cut out the star. It’s much easier than trying to punch out the center of the framelit star.

000_3191

Quick and cute for today … Wanted to keep it on the simple side because I did not post my Simply Sunday this week.

I will be back tomorrow with the weekly deals. Thanks for stopping by.

Hope you have a really nice Monday ~
