Discover the Magic of the In the Grove Stamp Set

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today, I’m excited to share a new video tutorial featuring the versatile “In the Grove” stamp set. This set offers endless possibilities for creating beautiful, dynamic cards that are perfect for any occasion. In our latest video, I walk you step-by-step through different techniques that will enhance your stamped images and bring your creative visions to life.

Our first card showcases the stunning tree stamps from the “In the Grove” set. We start by stamping the tree image onto cardstock. Then, without reinking the stamp, we stamp again, creating a layered effect. This technique, known as second-generation stamping, adds dimension and depth to your cards, allowing you to achieve two different colors from a single ink application. The result is a rich, textured look that brings the trees to life.

Next, we shine the spotlight on the Thoughtful Journey patterned paper. This card features a unique stippling technique that adds a snowy touch to your scenes. By using white craft ink and an old Blender pen, we highlight snowy areas, creating a beautiful wintery effect. We then use a simple marker to darken certain areas, adding contrast and making the image pop. This technique is perfect for creating bright, bold designs that capture the grandeur of the mountains.

Both of these cards are incredibly versatile and can be tailored to suit any occasion, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, retirement, or graduation. I hope these techniques inspire you to try your hand at creating with the “In the Grove” stamp set or add it to your shopping cart.

Don’t forget, July is Bonus Days! For every $50 you spend, you’ll receive a $5 coupon to use in August. This is the perfect time to stock up on your favorite Stampin’ Up! products and earn some extra savings.

Happy stamping!

A Few of my Favorite Retiring Items …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared my Top 5 Tips for getting the most out of the Retirement List, today … I’d like to share my a few of my Favorite Retiring products that I hate to see go. One good thing about retiring the older products … we get NEW!!

Let me begin with one of the first suites I saw and just had to have; the World of Good Suite ….

From the Beautiful World Bundle to the World of Good Designer Specialty paper to the Antique Corners & Slides … this suite was fun to make cards with, plus it makes great scrapbook pages. It hurts to see these amazing items retire, but many items have great discounts so you can enjoy some sweet savings! Here are just a few of the creations I have made …

The dies are 75% Off plus there are great savings on the rest of the bundle as well …

Embellishments are also a must have in my craft room … I love using them on my cards and for scrapbooking. Here are a few of my favorites, and they include the Antique Corners & Slides that are included in the World of Good Suite ….

One more item I would like to share with you is the handy Craft & Carry Stamparatus Bag. I used mine for my Stamparatus, some extra plates and a few projects!! This little beauty is sturdy and ready to do the job for you.

These treasures are a great find and won’t last long, especially with the great discounts offered.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my post today.

Enjoy your day ~

My Top 5 Retirement List Tips

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Stampin’ Up! has just released the list of retiring products and many Last Chance Products are on sale! Now is the time to get those last items off your wish list ordered before they are gone.

My Top 5 Retirement List Tips:

1) In Colors: All 2019-2021 In Color inks, paper, and embellishments are retiring. These items usually sell out quickly so don’t forget to add ink refills and extra cardstock for your craft stash. You don’t want to miss having these gorgeous colors in your collection! gone.

2) Stamps vs. Accessories: Retiring stamps are available through May 3rd. All other retiring items such as; bundles, paper, embellishments, dies are only available while supplies last, so you don’t want to wait and miss out.

3) Bundles: Bundles, with their 10% savings, all retire! Even if the bundle items carryover to the next catalog the discount does not so save on bundles while you can. Bundles are only available while supplies last.

4) Online Ordering: Your best bet for grabbing items before they sell out is to order online! I’m always happy to help and place orders for you, but the delay could mean items you want won’t be available.

5) Host Rewards: Exclusive Host Reward stamp sets also retire. If your order qualifies for host rewards, you may want to select those stamps. You can also apply your Host Rewards to the cost of your Starter Kit. When you join between April 1 and May 3 you get early access to add new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog preorder items in your Starter Kit!

Simply Sunday: Trimming the Town Slimline Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Oh my gosh … can you believe it is the 6th of December already? WOW At times (not always) this year has seemed to fly by … I hope you are all safe, healthy and ready for the holidays!

I have a new card layout I’d like to share with you today along with a big announcement from Stampin’ Up! Let’s begin with their announcement as I have two projects to share with you today …

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE RETIREMENT LIST

Both of the items I will be sharing today are on the retirement list, let’s begin with the Slimline card … I’ve done these years ago (before someone gave them a fancy name … lol) I think they are fun because they are different from our normal size yet they fit nicely into a business size envelope!

Ok … a little hard to see but there is a Early Espresso card base … 8″ width x 8-1/2″length …. scored at 4′ on the width length and fold in half. My Pool Party mat measures 3-3/4″ x 8-1/4″ and then my Trimming the Town designer paper measures 3-1/2″ by 8″ …. I had a hard time cutting this designer paper pattern because it just looked so cool, but this layout gave me large pieces to work with and show how beautiful this really is.

That cute greeting is actually cut from another pattern found in the Trimming the Town Designer paper! Join me for a LIVE event where I go through the Holiday catalog highlighting what is going to retire and many, many samples!!

My second project is the Christmas Countdown Kit … this cute Advent type calendar is perfect for hiding those sweet treats as you count down the days to Christmas. Here is what the kit offers ….

I teamed up the kits with the Trimming the Town Designer Series paper. I am using the pattern that I used on my Slimline Card to highlight that pretty paper. I used one of the pieces from the kit as a template …

Thank you for joining me today, and I hope you will join me tomorrow at 7pm on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page for a walk through the catalog as I highlight the retiring items.

Have an amazing day ~

My Holiday Favorites …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

On Saturday I shared over 30 cards and 3-D projects of some of my favorite retiring items, and as we enter the last stretch I thought it would be fun to share my Christmas fav’s …. I’ve got over 20 samples, they wouldn’t fit onto Saturday’s post.

Most of my avid customers already have most of these stamp sets and dies or punches, they are fun to create with and are so very versatile.

Let’s start out with the DASHING DEER …

Dashing Deer brings the serenity on nature into this Christmas set yet can be made quite sophisticated.

Introducing Winter Wood …. I used these a lot together (Dashing Deer & Winter Woods) Again, you will see elegance intertwined with nature … pure beauty.

My next pick is the MAKING CHRISTMAS BRIGHT …. These two are fun and whimsical and sure to brighten up anyone’s holiday.

The last I’ll be sharing is MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL … This is the perfect stamp set and coordinating dies if you are looking for greetings and sentiments.

A women of few words today, but I think the card samples and products speak for themselves. I have enjoyed using these for the past couple of years …

If you would like to purchase any of these items, I have them listed below.  If you would like help, please let me know by contacting me 262-334-1009, or lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

Thank you for kickin’ back with me today while we strolled threw these card.

Background Technique: Using Dies for Inking Backgrounds

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Not sure how you feel about it, but the weekend sure does go by quickly! However, I have been busy playing with my stamps. Yesterday I shared a cute -n- quick card that highlighted the Honey Bee Bundle.  Here are my samples in both the portrait and landscape format.

Today, I’m going to share with you a fun technique that I found on Pinterest and wanted to share with you.  If you don’t have designer paper, this is a fun way to create a background … Use your “dies” as a stencil to create your background!!

I laid the smooth side against my cardstock and held it tight with my fingers, however, you can tack it down with washi tape or post it notes, and then you use your sponge daubers to dab ink within the die to create your background!  If you don’t like that you may get ink outside of the die … just die cut a piece of scrap paper and use that as your template.

You will notice that my card is pretty much like yesterday’s except for the “hand sponged” background and a couple more bee’s!! Of course … I did add the Wink of Stella to this one too.  I don’t know what it is, but it makes it look like gold!

The beehive is stamped in Crushed Curry and embellished with a swam of bees … well, we did create a honeycomb so they were busy creating the sweetness for this card.

So … what do you think? Fun background? I like getting my money’s worth out of the products that I buy and I can use them for more than one purpose … well, it draws me like bees to honey!!

Thank you so much for stopping back to check out my background technique.

Wishing you some sunshine and happiness today.

Or … you can sit down and relax as you watercolor your lined images to create a soft, beautiful scene.

Oh my gosh … Don’t you just want to walk through the field of tulips?  Since we can’t go to Holland, Michigan for their amazing Tulip Festival this year … this is the next best thing.  You can find this beautiful stamp set on page 44 of the Annual (big) Catalog.

Simply Sunday: Saying Goodbye to Lilypad Lake

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have two cute cards that may bring the feel of a warm sunny day … and for me, a touch of sadness as I seeing a stamp set and dies retire. It’s the beautiful Lilypad Lake bundle, and I wanted to create that “lake” feel … I hope it takes you to the warmth and wonder of the lake.

I cut out my background in Whisper White with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies (also on the retired list) … This will create the focal point, and was sponged with Balmy Blue.  The sun was cut from the dies included in the bundle.

Our bird was stamped and then cut again with the coordinating dies.  the water is also a die that we cut in Balmy Blue … before we attached it we covered that entire area on the sponged white with our Snail adhesive.

The bottom 1/3 of the piece was coated with the Snail (retiring but being replaced with something better!), then we laid the die cut (which I’m using as waves/water) onto the piece … once secure, we dipped it into the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (another item on the retirement list) and WOW!!  We just pushed the glitter down onto the Snail to hold it better … It looks so cool.

Here are the core / retiring items that I have used on my cards today.  You can click on any item to check it’s availability … Order through me and I will pay the tax on your order during April.

Stampin’ Supply List …

My second card, also a sparkling water image, is how I’d like to social distance.  Actually … I should be saying goodbye to my retreat attendee’s instead of training at work, but I felt it was socially responsible to cancel my stamping retreat 😦  I am missing my ladies … and this view!

The water was simply stamped onto our card front, the boats were stamped die cut and colored.  Our shimmery lake comes from the assistance of the “Wink of Stella”.

The beach was sponged on to make it look like sand … and the relaxing Adirondack Chair comes from the Seasonal Layers die set (again … retiring!)  You should get a good feel of what you can create with this beautiful stamp set.

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Make sure you come back each day this week as I will be featuring some very special cards and projects!

Have a beautiful day ~

Simply Sunday: Colorful Hugs Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend … whether it’s just another day or a well needed break.  Today I have two cards to share with you that highlight the 2018-20 In-Colors.  I took out my bin of scraps and came up with these quick -n- easy cards.

I had a lot of left over 1″ strips of cardstock so I thought it was the perfect way to showcase our out going 2018-20 In-Colors! I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and attached my 1″ strips to it.  I did 5″ width because I have 5 In-colors x 1 inch strips = 5 inches!

Once I had all the cardstock attached, I trimmed off the excess and added a simple bow using the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  Then I mounted my assembly onto a piece of Basic Black to mat the assembly and make the colors really pop!!  The card front was now mounted onto the Whisper White card base.

Now it was time to add my hearts … I punched the mat / Scalloped Heart from Vellum Cardstock.  Our greeting from the So Sentimental stamp set “Sending Healing Hugs” is perfect for the time we are in right now, and was stamped with Lovely Lipstick from our 2018-20 In-Colors.  The hearts were attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some depth and texture to the card.

Now, if you want to step it up a bit, here is another sample to punch it up …

The basic layout is the same as the first card except before the bow is added, I ran it through the my embossing machine with the Tin Tile 3D folder. This just added some fun to your card, and with so many embossing folders to choose from, you’re sure to find something that fits your theme.

Once I embossed it, I added the ribbon but with a twist this time!!  I layered the ribbon with an end on each side and then tied the Grapefruit Grove ribbon around it to create a pretty “fluffy” bow!! The greeting / hearts also remained the same.  So as you can see … it didn’t take much to add a little more pizzazz to your card. Great texture and eye appeal.

A list of the supplies used today …

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and another way to use your 2018-20 In-Colors, or any scraps for that matter.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and thank you for joining me.

Celebrating the 2018-20 In-Colors

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have the 2018-2020 In-Colors … a reminder that these pretty colors will hit the discontinuing list in a few weeks!!  We will be saying good-bye to Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel …

Each card is stamped with it’s coordinating color and embossed with the Lovely Floral embossing folder (DISCONTINUED) … Sorry!!

I know many of you have told me these are some of your favorite colors because they are so close to the basic / primary colors.  I’m going to keep reminding everyone that NOW is the time to get your colors … and don’t forget the ink refills … you will want them and you won’t want to find them on ebay later for 10x the price!

LOVELY LIPSTICK: I simply love this fun new color! It’s not quite red or hot pink but somewhere in between to give you a fun … sassy red!

GRAPEFRUIT GROVE … I don’t know how to describe this color other that it really looks like the wonderful grapefruit color you see when you slice open a juicy grapefruit .. YUM!!

PINEAPPLE PUNCH … and speaking of YUM, who doesn’t like pineapple? This color is a soft, sunny yellow that will just bring a smile to your face.

CALL ME CLOVER … Callin’ all lovers of green, you will definitely fall for this one, just like laying in a patch of clover on a warm summer day!  Hmmm … does that bring an image to your mind that makes you want to match this up with another new color? Let’s just wait and see!!

BLUEBERRY BUSHEL …  Another yummy color, this warm blue will really remind you of pint of blueberries. I am really liking this one!

Are you in love with the new In-Colors yet?  I am going to miss this color pallet … it’s new and fresh and complimented our color line.

If you haven’t wandered over to the CLEARANCE RACK yet … you might want to hurry, some of them goodies are going fast.  These are sold at discounts up to 60%.  The retirement list is on it’s way but some items will not be discounted.

I want to thank you for joining me today and taking time out of your day to share it with me.

I wish you a colorful day filled with fun!!
