THANKS … You Make my Heart Happy!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

What did you think about yesterday’s announcement … 4 more amazing Sale-a-Bration products released just for the month of March! Click on flyer to view …

I have a cute project to share with you today! As promised … I will be using the “This Day” Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Mini Card Collection that you will find in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.

I have teamed it up with 2 great products … First, our February Paper Pumpkin and second, our newest photopolymer stamp set … “Loving Amazing You”.

The results from combining these 3 projects are a bold, fun and simple project to create! Let’s begin with the cute little box that is enclosed in the Paper Pumpkin kit …

000_2026

I simply trimmed down one of the cards from the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Mini Card Collection – “This Day”, then stamped the envelope from the “Loving Amazing You” stamp set in Daffodil Delight and topped it off with the greeting done in Pool Party.

It’s my representation on “Sending (the envelope) good wishes your way!

The inside of the card was super simple ….

000_2030

I trimmed down the cards to 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and used the felt “T-H-A-N-K-S” from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the bright colors … it’s just so “FUN!!”. I think it looks like a party 🙂

Ohhhh … what a great thank you card to give to that special person who got you that “just what I wanted” gift.

I finished it off by adding a cute little verse to the back … the sun is just another one of the cute cards enclosed in the Card Collection. All the stamps came from the “Loving Amazing You” stamp set.

000_2031

Hope you enjoyed my cute little project as much as I had fun making it! Quick and Simple, fun and cute!

Thanks much for stopping by today.

Brighten someone’s day … just by saying “THANKS” ~

Say “THANKS” with style …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’m going to show you an alternative project that you can do with your February Paper Pumpkin.

I really meant to post earlier but last night I was not feeling up to par so I sat down on the couch and before I knew it, it was about 3 am … with all the lights and TV on! Needless to say … I shut everything off and went to bed! Must have really needed sleep … lol.

Yesterday you got to watch the Stampin’ Up! video on how to make the Filled with Gratitude project, here’s mine …

000_2012

I took the negative (or leftover) piece of felt and decided to create something with that. First, you have to cut it because it comes 2 per sheet. I used a ruler to draw a line where I wanted to cut, then used my “Craft Scissors” … it works great!

Because the felt piece is larger than a regular size card, I designed it to fit into a business size envelope! You’ll need to cut your full piece of cardstock (I used Soft Suede) down to 9-3/4” x 7-7/8” and fold in half lengthwise.

000_2016

I really wanted it to pop so I matted it with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper! I did use Mini Glue Dots to hold the felt piece onto the glimmer paper.

I then popped up that piece with dimensionals and attached it to a piece of Pool Party and stamped “you’re the best” from the Simply Wonderful stamp set found in the Sale-a-bration catalog. The entire front was then attached to the Soft Suede.

Living a life of gratitude seems to bring more wonderful people in your life, so I try very hard to show people I appreciate them. If you have a special waitress, hairdresser or UPS man … this would be a great way to say “Thanks”!

000_2015

I’ve added a piece of Pool Party to the inside and punched a partial “Decorative Label” in the center, then trimmed the sides with the “Extra Large Oval”.

The “YOU’RE SIMPLY WONDERFUL” also comes from the Simply Wonderful stamp set found in the Sale-a-bration catalog. Once attached … just slip some cash or a gift certificate for a fun touch.

000_2012- Thanks

I appreciate that you follow my posts. Let me know if there is anything special you would like me to showcase.

Have a wonderful day …

Spotlight: Lotus Blossom Stamp Set

Hello Stampin’ Friends,
I am thrilled with Sale-A-Bration catalog this year, and I hope you are too! With so many exclusive items for you to earn for free, Stampin’ Up! thought it would be fun to give each one a turn in the spotlight.

Throughout Sale-A-Bration, they will feature a Product of the Week! This week’s product is the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set. This gorgeous stamp set makes anyone feel like an artist in three quick steps.

It creates a beautiful flower that looks painted, but it is amazingly easy. The individual stamps have a tab at the top to help you align them, and the tabs are numbered so you will know which part of the flower to stamp first, second, and third.

This beautiful card was designed by Sarah Klass. She has inspired me to pull out my stamp set and start creating!

Try playing around using one ink pad with the stamping off technique, or multiple different ink pads to create many different looks.

Thanks you for stopping by ….

Enjoy the day and have a wonderful weekend.

Simply Sunday Birthday Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today it’s time to Celebrate your Big Day with Cake! And while we’re celebrating … let’s Sale-a-brate with FREE specialty paper! Today I’m sharing another technique that can be used on our “Irresistibly Yours” designer paper… Brayering over the stars!

I combined it with the “Ombre” technique: a color scheme that transitions from a lighter to darker shade. I only used the Coastal Cabana so the shading is very subtle. I brayered one layer over the entire card and then working from the left side, I added more color until I got the desired effect.

000_1918

Once you are done with the brayering, wipe off the excess ink from the card (the star’s will not absorb the color) and watch them pop!

I teamed my specialty paper with the “Big Day” stamp set … both are from our Sale-a-bration catalog and you can get them free. During Sale-a-bration you can chose exclusive items with each $50 you purchase. Gather your friends and have a party, or pass the book and do it on-line, or take those tax refunds and place your own order (I have many who do this during Sale-a-bration!)

I have a great tip for you today too … You can extend your banners by simply cutting a piece of cardstock that will slide through the punch (as shown below) and then pull to desired length. How sweet is that!

000_1914

Did you notice that the little white banner has been punched with the “Irresistibly Yours” designer paper. The banner punch is in our big catalog and can be found on page 223.

000_1915

A great birthday card for anyone at any age! Those are the best cards to have on hand.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy your day ~

Stamp Happy with a New Technique!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I told you that I would have a card to share with you that utilized one or more of the products from our Weekly Deals, so today I’m going to highlight the Starburst Framelits!

Starburst Framelits Die

Starburst Framelits Die 132967
Price: $26.95 $20.21
Cut your stamped images, create layers and frames! 5 layering dies. Largest image: 4-11/16″ diam. Coordinates with Baby and Starburst Sayings Stamp Set

I chose the coordinating stamp set; Starburst Sayings to create my card. My color pallet is Island Indigo and Pool Party … a favorite of many!

BUT … before I put these all together I thought I would share with you a technique that you can use on the NEW “Irresistibly Yours” specialty paper. This paper cannot be bought … but you can get it for FREE in our Sale-a-bration catalog with a $50 order! (before shipping & handling)

The technique I want to show you is watercoloring with your Aqua Painter …. super simple. I will tell you that the paper absorbs the water quickly and that I watered down my ink before I applied it to the paper. (Remember to clean out your ink from the stamp case (as shown) because you have added water and you do not want that on your ink pad)

000_1890

My favorite thing about this technique is that you control the variation of color! I always tell my stampers “less is more … because you can always add more, but it it difficult to take away”. So start light and then add more color where you want it.

000_1891

Don’t you love how the dots pop through the watercoloring! The paper is pre-embossed for you and acts like the “resist” technique. My technique clubs are learning additional techniques in coloring this awesome paper.

You can see why I chose the polka dot pattern (1 of 6 designs) because that too coordinates with our stamp set! The Happy Day is stamped in Island Indigo and the Celebrate in Pool Party.

All three pieces were cut with the Starburst Framelit Die. Here’s a little tip … You can align the framelit to your image easier if you keep the numbers that are printed on the framelit to the top! Take a look at your framelits, most have numbers printed on them and many times I use this when aligning with my stamped image.

000_1894

I popped up the Happy Day with our Stampin’ Dimensionals and then “doubled” the dimensionals on the celebrate to create a lot of dimension.

I hope you enjoyed the use of the framelits from the “Weekly Deals” and learning what you can do with our new Designer Paper; Irresistibly Yours. It’s a must see 🙂 and it’s FREE!

Thanks for stopping by, I’d love to hear what you think of today’s project.

Have a wonderful day ~

Pumpkin Card Share …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Oh my… It’s March 31st already!  It’s been cold for so long that I don’t think we realized that we really are heading into April (and Spring).

I have created a bunch of cards using my March Paper Pumpkin that I wanted to share with you.  I also want to remind you that the offer for the FREE Markers (when you sign up for the Paper Pumpkin) ends today.  CLICK HERE TO TRY IT OUT

I don’t want you to miss out on the FREE markers if you have been thinking about trying out our Paper Pumpkin.  It really is a fun treat that comes to you each month.

demoheader_paperpumpkin_demo_1.11-1.27.2014_US_CA

Here is my first sample, which represents how Stampin’ Up! pictures the design for you.  You will see as we go on, that there are 4 each of the two different greetings in wood, the base cards, two different stamps, and two different ink colors.  The cute little glitter dots, envelopes and gold envelope liners are also included in the kit.  Oh yes, and they even have “glue dots” included to adhere your wooden greetings!

000_0943

My second card for you is simply adding a flower created with the “Petite Petal” punch from the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog.  I put one of the little glitter dots into the center … did I mention that they are “self-adhesive”!

000_0944

For my 3rd card, I found left-over oval from another project, and added it to my card.  The fun part is … I stamped the arrow image directly onto my wooden greeting!  You could stamp any design on these wooden pieces.  How fun is that!

000_0948

For my 4th and final card share, I stamped the patterned image on my card several times to create a wide border.  I have to say that using these clear photopolymer stamps … it’s really easy to align it!

Then I used the ink pad (spot) that was included in the kit, to “die” my wooden greeting.   I punched a circle out of the envelope liner, and used it to highlight my greeting.  The envelope liners are long enough that you can still use the liner for your envelope after punching … as shown below.

000_0950

I understand that you cannot get this Paper Pumpkin any more, but I did want to show you how neat, and how versatile they really are.  If you really like the wooden elements – you can find the “Essential Wooden Elements” on page 18 of the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog.

Pair it up with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards and try some of the same techniques I’ve shown you here.  I will have the links at the bottom of my blog for you view these products.

One more Kiss …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I shared the “Kissing Technique” for my Technique Tuesday post … today I want to show you another card using this fun technique.

Now to keep it simple … I used some of the same items that I did yesterday.  I did however switch out the cupcake set for the Kind & Cozy stamp set… I took the center out of the checkered circle stamp… never throw anything away that you may use later!

000_0909

I inked up the circle and “kissed” it to the center of the Doily stamp… I love the cool pattern you get from centering it!  I offset the center circle when I punched out each of the different colors, don’t you love it!!  I will post a list of what punches I used at the end of the blog.

I stayed with the same color pallet as I used yesterday, but I switched out the Very Vanilla for Whisper White, since I was not using the designer paper… but I kept the ribbon!!

I stamped two verses from the Starburst Sayings stamp set, and cut them out using the coordinating Starburst framelits.  I love that Stampin’ Up! bundles these coordinating items because we save money!!  We all know, we’re going to get them both anyway… right?!

Last but not least … I tied all the images together by embossing the background with the “Decorative Dots” embossing folder from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Yes, this is a FREE item with a $50 purchase (before shipping & taxes).  It really does add to the feel of the card … not to mention texture.

000_0912

So what do you think?  Do you like the kissing technique?  I’m excited to hear about your experience using the technique.

I have listed the items that I used to create the card … just click on the pic for more information or to make a purchase.

Thank you for visiting me today~

Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday!

blog-closing-small
I like to add both the wood and clear mount stamp sets so you can choose the one that you prefer to use 🙂

Cruising for a fun time …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is a bit different type of post than my usual … I have a couple of stamping projects to show you today, but I want to share a bit more of me.

Most of you know the main reason I have stayed with Stampin’ Up! for 14 years… it’s the beautiful friendships I have built.  Today I’m going to share another reason I love Stampin’ Up!… traveling!

The idea began with my Technique Club and our discussion of traveling and where we all have gone.  Some one had brought up the subject of people on the docks handing you animals, which brought me to my story…

I couldn’t remember what I was holding before they put the iguana on my head …. but this will explain it!!

100_0990

I was trying to get a picture with Flat Stanley.  That smile … was me gritting my teeth and asking them to take that thing off my head!  LOL

This is the Mexican Riviera cruise that I had earned through Stampin’ Up!  I love to cruise!  I  never thought that I would enjoy being “stuck” on a ship, but let me just say … it is a wonderful experience.  Just think, each night you go to bed, and the next day you wake up some place new.  And the food … yum!

100_0811

My date for the evening was of course, Flat Stanley.  He went on all our excursions with us.  I could make a whole scrapbook of Flat Stanley on this trip!!  Oh, and by the way,  he never did come home with us … I think the stayed there because we never did find him after that!!

Well … you can’t go to any Stampin’ Up! event without either stamping or having samples every where!  It’s so much fun!  Here are just a couple of samples…

100_1043

Some of you know … I love “boots”!  They have a very special meaning for me.  Here are some cute scrapbook pages.  These would work well in our 8 x 8 inch albums.

I still go back and view some of the pictures I have taken to get some inspiration, and that is how I found all these photos.  Don’t forget … You can take a layout, or a style of card and create something new using the items you already have.

I hope you enjoyed traveling along with me today.  I ask you, if you have ever thought of becoming a demonstrator, we should talk.  I have a wonderful group … the Star’s by Design, and we would love to welcome “you” into our group.

Whether it’s a need for additional money, the traveling, some well deserved recognition or the wonderful  friendships you build … it’s a great company to work with.  Remember, you’re the boss – you set your work schedule around your family, and as little or as often as you’d like.

During Sale-a-bration … Stampin’ Up! is offering additional $$ to the starter kit you design (I’ll help you if you’d like) but it’s still only $99.  Talk to me or click on the “join” link for more information or to sign up.  There is amazing support … and it starts with me.
