Elegantly Said in Evening Evergreen

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

The weekend is here and I’m a bit late with my post! Had a nice breakfast with my daughter and the 3 boys, and my AJ paid!! He treated us all … what a sweet young man.

Today I have a beautiful card to share with you today. I brought back the heat embossing but instead of the white, I embossed clear emboss powder on Basic White cardstock. Then it was time to pull out my Blending Brush and the Evening Evergreen ink and create the “Ombre” technique!!

This technique of light to dark, combined with this elegant stamp pair up beautifully and really makes a statement. I added my punched greeting off center … actually, right to the edge!

The In Color Gems were placed around the card to draw your eye to the punched greeting, and then the greeting was topped off with the coordination ribbon.

Thank you for hanging out to check out today’s card.

Enjoy your weekend ~

Oh the Things We Can Do with Designer Paper!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~ Happy April 1st!! No Foolin’ … today I’m going to share all the different ways we have used the True Love Designer Series paper!

Let’s begin with one you may have forgot about; Using Scraps to Create a beautiful card. This super simple technique creates a fun pattern …. just add a greeting! Oh yes, and I added the Daisy Punch too.

The next up is the soft and pretty effect you get when you use your blending brushes to color the black and white images. I did add a little color from my Stampin’ Blends for the leaves, but I love how the brushed on color “goes out of the lines” to create a beautiful softness to the True Love Designer Paper.

If you prefer the “clean” look … I have the pattern colored strickly with the Stampin’ Blend Markers. Same pattern … Same color … I just wanted to show how different these two techniques look on your designer paper.

One of my favorites, and not something we normally don’t think to do: COLOR THE BACKGROUND. I was amazed the first time I saw someone do this technique … who would have thought!? I’m just glad they did, and shared it. Coloring the background just really made our pretty flowers pop off the page.

I have some fun with this one! Not only did I color the back ground, I did the flowers as well. This time though, I used my “Sponge Daubers” to add color to my flowers. They are smaller that the brush heads so you can get a little more precise with your ink placement. Both techniques add soft color your paper.

And …. yesterday’s card, where I showed you how to create an Ombre effect on your Black & White True Love Designer paper! I love all the options you have when working with a designer paper in Black and White … and your color pallet is limitless!! You can create “any” color designer paper now … and it’s FUN!!

I know there are more techniques we can do … how about a soft watercoloring, or bring out your Watercolor Pencils and Blender pen!! The possibilities are endless. The True Love Designer Paper “IS” on the Retiring List … so if you like it, don’t wait … it here only while supplies last.

Thanks for hanging out with me as we revisited some of the great techniques you can do with this special paper!

Have yourself a fun & creative day ~

Double “Z” Fold Card with Ombre Background …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am excited to share my card with you today! You’ll see how I created the Ombre effect on the pretty True Love Designer Series paper, and then use it while I show you how fun and easy it is to create the Double “Z” Fold card. I’ll be sharing my Facebook LIVE video with you as well as the dimensions for the card…

I really like the way this card turned out, a bit different and whimsical. Join me and sit a bit to watch how I created today’s card. Just click on the > to begin viewing …

Wasn’t that an easy card to make … sometimes watching a video just makes it easier to remember how to do it. Here at the dimensions you will need when cutting your for your card.

You can actually click on this picture and save it! Then you will have the dimensions to make as many Double “Z” Fold cards as you’d like! I love the surprise of a Z Fold card because when you look at the front of the card, it looks like a regular card front ….

You have a nice border all around … you can see the Ombre that we created, the cute daisy and even our colored droplets, but when you open it up … you are greeted with a fun fold that will put a smile on anyone’s face …

I want to thank you for spending part of you day with me today. I hope you enjoyed the video and feel inspired to try your hand at this fun fold … don’t forget to try out the Ombre technique as well.

Have a beautiful day ~

Flowering Foils: Ombre Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy LEAP Day!! I feel like I should have created a card with frogs (leap) … lol, but I’m showcasing the Flowering Foils again, but today I’m incorporating the Ombre Technique. This is a fun and easy technique to use with the Flowering Foils that will be sure to create a WOW!!

I’ll be using a different pattern today … it has Silver Foil so I choose Blackberry Bliss to compliment the silver.  Let’s begin with the paper sizes; the base is Blackberry Bliss and it cut 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored at 4-1/4″ … in half.  There is a Whisper White piece inside measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″, you will cut your Silver Foil the same size as the white.  Cut your Flowering Foil Specialty Designer paper to 3-3/4″ x 5″.  The last piece you need is a scrap piece of Whisper White to stamp and punch your greeting.

You will need your stampin’ ink pad along with a sponge … I cut mine in quarters because I like that I get more ink coverage.  I start at the bottom of my designer paper, ink up my sponge and with a swirling motion, I begin applying ink.  I keep moving up the paper as I go making sure I always start at or near the bottom so that you get nice coverage and the bottom is darkest and we get lighter as we get to the top.

Once you have applied all your ink and you are satisfied with the look of the ombre coverage … take a tissue and wipe off the excess ink, this will also expose more of your silver again.  I did cut out one of the flowers from the designer paper to create a focal point for my card.

The greeting comes from the Peaceful Moments Stamp set and was stamped in Blackberry Bliss, I then used the Timeless Label punch to punch out the greeting and a piece of the Silver Foil Cardstock.  The silver was cut in half lengthwise and then adhered to the greeting.  The greeting and the flower were popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals and the flower was topped off with a Clear Faceted Gem.

I hope you give this a try …  if you need any of the supplies I’ve used here today and your don’t have a demonstrator, just click on any of the images.  Let me know if you need any help.

I want to thank you for taking time today to visit my blog, it is appreciated.  This beautiful Flowering Foil Specialty Designer paper has inspired me to create a card with the Ombre technique, and the cards I’ve shared the last two days. Hope you have fun with it too.

Have a beautiful day, Linda

Totally Techniques … “Beautiful You”

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share a card with you from my March Technique Club… it’s totally full of fun techniques.

Here is the third and last card from my Creating Backgrounds Class using the  “Beautiful You” stamp set.  I begin with the “Delicate Details” stamp set that is in our Sale-a-bration catalog.  I aligned the stamps by laying the large block onto the Grid Paper – that way I was sure they were all straight.

Then it’s inked up with the VersaMark ink … you’ll have to stamp twice because the stamps are spaced closer together.  Once your cardfront is stamped you emboss with CLEAR embossing powder. We are doing the “Emboss Resist” technique.

For the color … I’m also incorporating the “Ombre” technique. The colors are Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo.  I used a Sponge Dauber to apply my ink. (this works best when you start “off” your cardstock and work your way into the card. Blending of these colors is easy and very pretty.

For our lady … she was stamped with the Momento Ink and then colored with the Wink of Stella pen and Bermuda Bay ink refill.  This marvelous pen works just similar to the Aquapainter but with sparkle is included!!  If you have the “clear” pen, like I used here” … you can create as many colors as you have ink refills.  Love this!!  No need to go out and buy different colored Wink of Stella pens, by using the Stampin’ Up! ink refill, you have the perfect way to add that coordinating sparkle ❤

Here’s a tip … you could also use the Watercolor Pencils to color your image and then go over it with the Wink of Stella.

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me, hope your day is a good one.

If you purchase the “Beautiful You” stamp set along with the Wink of Stella and the Watercolor Pencils – you can get the “Delicate Details” stamp set for FREE! Purchase any combination of products below and receive the trio of cards when your qualify for our Sale-a-bration item!  Click on the images below!

I’ve done the Ombre Technique with my Technique Clubs in the past, but Stampin’ Up! just made it super easy to achieve the look.

Ombre isn’t hard—just use an Ombre Stampin’ Pad to get five shade gradations that fade from dark to light. Watch and learn the easiest way to create ombre effects.

You really will have fun playing with these amazing ink pads.

I appreciate you stopping by today!

Have yourself a great day ~

Simply Sunday Birthday Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today it’s time to Celebrate your Big Day with Cake! And while we’re celebrating … let’s Sale-a-brate with FREE specialty paper! Today I’m sharing another technique that can be used on our “Irresistibly Yours” designer paper… Brayering over the stars!

I combined it with the “Ombre” technique: a color scheme that transitions from a lighter to darker shade. I only used the Coastal Cabana so the shading is very subtle. I brayered one layer over the entire card and then working from the left side, I added more color until I got the desired effect.

Once you are done with the brayering, wipe off the excess ink from the card (the star’s will not absorb the color) and watch them pop!

I teamed my specialty paper with the “Big Day” stamp set … both are from our Sale-a-bration catalog and you can get them free. During Sale-a-bration you can chose exclusive items with each $50 you purchase. Gather your friends and have a party, or pass the book and do it on-line, or take those tax refunds and place your own order (I have many who do this during Sale-a-bration!)

I have a great tip for you today too … You can extend your banners by simply cutting a piece of cardstock that will slide through the punch (as shown below) and then pull to desired length. How sweet is that!

Did you notice that the little white banner has been punched with the “Irresistibly Yours” designer paper. The banner punch is in our big catalog and can be found on page 223.

A great birthday card for anyone at any age! Those are the best cards to have on hand.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy your day ~

New Catalog … New Stamp Set … New Technique!!

H-E-L-L-O my Stampin’ Friends!!

I am really excited to share this post with you today!  Monday night I went to the Stampin’ Up! Catalog Premiere party!  They commissioned theaters all over the US … over 71oo demonstrators were at the theaters and over 400 at the “Red Carpet” LIVE event!  Wish I could have gone to that but it was in California.

catalog_reveal_fb - 500 PIXELS

I went with my friend and downline member Cindy.  Duh … I didn’t even think of taking a camera.  I would have been fun to share some pictures of the theater and all the demonstrators.  However … I do have a picture of my stuff!!

Here is the new catalog (no, sorry … can’t post pictures of the inside) but I do have a stamp set to share with you too.  You will also see the new “Stampin’ Success” magazine which all demonstrators recieve and is filled with helpful tips for stamping and running our businesses.

Yes, those are “POPCORN” Jelly Belly’s … a must have when attending a theater! 🙂  I can’t wait to share the new catalog with you!  How would you like to come to a catalog release party??  Let me know … or tell me what kind of catalog party you would like!!

On to the new stamp set … “Work of Art”.  It’s not typically my style, but Stampin’ Up! showed us some fun ways to use the stamp set.  It’s full of neat images that work great with water coloring and more.

Here is my first card with my new stamp set, from the new catalog …

The technique is called “Ombre” … it is a graduation of color.  I used Bermuda Bay on my card.  I began with the Watercolor paper and Spritzer.  I spritzed my water color paper lightly.  Then, I took the “swish” and after inking it up … stamped off 2 times, then stamped on my paper.

Then next “swish” was only stamped off once, and then the last was just stamped directly onto the watercolor paper.  It’s simple … but I like it.  Hope you like it as well.  I think I will be playing with this stamp set quite a bit.  I added a simple butterfly and a bit more bling colored with a Sharpie.

Hmmm … speaking of coloring you embellishments, I can’t wait until you get your hands on the new “Blendabilities” markers.  Woo Hoo.  I’ll be putting in a nice pre-order in May and can’t wait to show you!!  Watch for upcoming classes.

Want a FREE catalog??

If you are in one of my clubs or an on-line shopper – you will receive yours as soon as they are released. New shoppers can get a FREE catalog from me by placing a $50 or more order from my stampin’ store (click this link, then click the shop now button at the bottom of the page)
