Simply Sunday … You’re the Best!

Today I have a cute card for you, and as promised I have used the “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Paper and the “Simply Wonderful” stamp set.

Yesterday you saw Brenda’s swap that showcased sponging on the “Irresistibly Yours” Specialty Designer Paper and I have shared in a previous post (Click here to view) how to create a watercolor background with your Aqua Painters. You can also brayer this fabulous paper but …

today I’m going to show you how simple it is to use your markers and just color!

Using my Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo markers (the original Stampin’ Write markers) nothing fancy … I simply colored the first 3 spaces with Pool Party, the next 3 with Bermuda Bay, the next 3 with Island Indigo, then back to Bermuda Bay until all the lines were filled in.

Then I used a “baby wipe” to clean off my specialty paper …. I wiped off the excess in the direction of the lines. Quick & gentle … just enough to get the excess ink off, it also helps soften any lines from my coloring.

Using my 3 colors from light to dark also created the “Ombre” look… a very popular technique!

I did team up the Sale-a-bration items with the Bundle of the “Petal Potpourri” stamp set and coordinating “Flower Medallion” punch that is in the Occasions catalog – page 23. If Stampin’ Up! bundles it … I purchase it, I love the 15% savings!! Gives me more money to buy more goodies!

To finish off my flower, I added some of our Dazzling Details glitter adhesive (glitter glue) to the center. I think it adds just enough glitter without being over powering.

Today I want to share with you a card I received from one of my downline members, Brenda! We had a team meeting last night, and of coarse we stamp and swap … so there will be more beautiful samples I will be sharing with you.

Brenda created her’s by simply sponging the colors onto the paper and then wiping off any excess…. it really is stunning!

And last by definitely not least is the “Simply Wonderful” stamp set Brenda used for her greeting. I love this stamp set, it has wonderful “useful” greetings with nice fonts … aren’t we always looking for new and more greetings!

Happy Birthday Pumpkin!

As promised … today I will share with you an alternative project from the March Paper Pumpkin. The stamps in this months kit are just too cute …

I decided to turn the note card into a full card, so I used Basic Black for the base, cut the note card into 2 pieces and matted it onto Pool Party.

I wanted the “Birthday” to be my focal point so I trimmed my cardstock for the greeting down to 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ and stamped it in the Basic Black. I think the little stickers are so cute, so I added all 3 of the diamonds to the front. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to pop it up and give the card some extra dimension.

I couldn’t resist adding the cute little “You’re a Gem” stamp inside, topped off with the diamond stamped on top in Pool Party. I believe I’m going to have a lot of fun with this set.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes …

I hope you have been able to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having (in Wisconsin) … today we are suppose to hit 70 degrees!

Spring is such a wonderful time a year …. renewal, rebirth, and return of that glorious warm sunshine. Today’s card share was inspired by spring …

A card filled with butterflies. I used Wisteria Wonder and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper!

I cut my butterfly out of the glimmer paper that I used for my mat … it’s a great way to save money.

I then simply placed the Whisper White embossed piece … I used the Spring Flowers folder from the Occasions Catalog.

A simple Happy Birthday  is all it needed and I got that from the “And Many More” stamp set … I love the whimsical font, it’s so pretty and goes beautifully with our butterflies.  I used the Word Window punch for my greeting.

Weekly Deals & Important Announcement!

Yesterday I shared with you a number of products that were no longer available to purchase due to over selling the expected inventory (which means we all love them) and the strike at the shipyards. I will keep you posted on their availability.

In addition, yesterday I also notified you of the product quality concerns we’ve been experiencing with Blendabilities, and we thank you for your patience as we’ve worked through this sensitive issue. The manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a manner that we are certain would meet our high quality standards and provide us with a stable, long-term solution. Therefore, after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment, the Blendabilities product line has been discontinued.

For those of you who have purchased or chose them for your Sale-a-bration item through me, please let me know if you see or have a problem with yours … I will help you get a replacement or refund. Please note that not all the markers are bad, if that is the case … enjoy.

You’re Simply Wonderful …

Simply Sunday … Love is Kindness

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I’ve been so busy I never even got to step outside yesterday, but I noticed that the snow was melting … YAY!!!  Better yet, I hear there is a warming trend our way. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for spring!

On that note, I can’t wait to share today’s card with you. First time on my blog … the “Love is Kindness” stamp set. And what says spring better than tulips!! I stamped the image with the Momento ink pad and chose the “Daffodil Delight” Blendabilities to color them.

Yellow hues always give you that warm fuzzy feeling. The greens are the “Old Olive” blendabilities, and I used the “Smoky Slate” blendabilities to soften the black on the newspaper. My base card is Basic Gray, again to soften the look of the card instead of the boldness of our Basic Black.

I embossed the Daffodil Delight cardstock with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for a touch of texture and popped up the flower portion to give it dimension.

Just for fun … I added one of the buttons from the “Best Year Ever Accessory Pack”… it is one of the FREE items from our Sale-a-bration Catalog.

Today I am going to share one of the cards that we made at our February Technique Club. If you haven’t heard, I have started an on-line Stampin’ Technique Club. All  you need to do to join for the month is purchase $35 or more (before shipping & handling) from My Website during that current month.

Today’s cards technique is “Blendabilities meets Heat Embossing”….

We also teamed this technique up with a past technique my club members learned … the Blackboard Technique!

We used the “Balloon Bash” stamp set on our Basic Black cardstock, however you could use our new Blackboard paper that can be found in the Occasions Catalog.

Using designer paper on a card is a very cost effective way to jazz up your card and I used the “Birthday Bash Designer Specialty Paper” for this card. I love the confetti and glitz on this pattern.

Today’s card has an added little punch to it … the little birthday cake from the “Amazing Birthday” stamp set. Also, if you flip open the card, you will see that I’ve added a bit more of the Birthday Bash paper to create a pouch for a gift card!

I love how so many of the Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and accessories coordinate and make our cards dazzle!!
