Oh What a Night …

Hello Stampin’  Friends ~

Oh what a night … I always liked that song! And last night was a blast! I held my Catalog Launch party and we gathered to made 8 Holiday cards, ranging from Halloween to Christmas. Even our snacks ranged from Halloweens Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Mummies to White Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispy Yummies!

We all had a great time, met some new people and enjoyed a night full of stamping …

Let’s start our card share with Halloween!! This enchanting card will put a spell on you with it’s bubbling cauldron of fun. It comes from the new Toil & Trouble product suite …

Our Granny Apple Green background was embossed with the  Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder … I like that it looked like little bubbles floating up, just like my cauldron is doing!  It was matted with the Gorgeous Grape and adhered to the Basic Black base… all of these are in the Toil & Trouble Cardstock pack.

My bubbling cauldron is from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series paper and cut with the Cauldron Framelits Dies. I stamped the bubbles above it, added some pearls colored with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and a touch of the Wink of Stella! I finished off my card with the awesome Black Glitter Ribbon – LOVE IT!!

I forgot to tell you that my sweet -n- spooky ghost was created with the Gorgeous Grape Watercolor Pencil from  Assortment 2, a blender pen and a touch of Wink of Stella.  I also used the Watercolor Pencils on my Fall card …

There it is … that Blended Seasons Bundle again!! I have more cards up in my head because there is are just so many things you can to with bundle. I don’t think I need to explain much on this card, I’ve said it all before with my past cards… This stamp really should be in your stamp collection.

The last card I’m going to share with you is the Christmas card … so simple and so elegant!  My base is the new Balmy Blue. The greeting is from the new Timeless Tidings stamp set and is Heat Embossed in white. It brings out that touch of white that surrounds the silver.

We embossed the “Seasonal Wreath” onto the Silver Foil Sheet. If you like it on the photo, you should see it in person … it’s stunning!!

We also added some Silver Twine and the Clear Faceted Gem to add some bling, dimension and texture.

I hope you enjoyed the cards we made last night, and we’d love to have you join us at our next stamp camp ..

Thank you so much coming over today. See you soon.

Just a reminder that with each $50 purchase (before shipping & handling) you will receive a Bonus Buy coupon code worth $5 from Stampin’ Up! to spend on your September purchase … when the Holiday Catalog goes live!!  AND … you will also get a Virtual Rewards point from me as well … double the fun!

A Few of My Favorite Things …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Christmas is almost here and our Holiday Catalog is full of wonderful stamp sets, however I cannot forget the Annual Catalog and the beautiful holiday stamp sets that are still available …

Here are a few of my favorite stamp sets in the Annual Catalog …

The most beautiful stamp set … greetings and dies that I could not pass up last year! So glad the “Star of Light” carried over into the annual catalog.

Another stamp set and die that I just had to add to my collection was “Santa’s Sleigh” … who doesn’t want this jolly ‘ol soul in upon their roof!

Another great stamp set is “Holly Berry Happiness” … I’m a big fan of Holly !and you’ll see it all over my home! It’s just Christmas to me, and the greetings and messages include in the set are perfect …

And if you are one who loves tradition then I’m sure you’ll love “Hang Your Stocking” as much as I do. These cute little stockings work well on tags and on cards … or both as you see below!

I have one more to share with you … “Father Christmas”. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa Claus. This set will work great with all the coloring techniques available … the new Stampin’ Blends or Watercolor Pencils are my top favorites!

Hope you enjoyed this flashback to the Annual Catalog! Our seasonal catalogs are awesome and I love to combine them with the great sets in our annual catalog as well.

Have a great start to your week ~

Merry Little Christmas Suite …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’d like to share with you another one of our retreat cards. This card comes from the Merry Little Christmas Suite!

This masculine style card was quick -n- easy and a big hit at retreat. Our background comes from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series paper. We then cut a snow bank our of a piece of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

Next, we used the tree dies from the Card Front Builder Thinlits Die and cut them out of Old Olive to give the card a fun pop of color.

The “Let it Snow” was stamped in Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then punched with the “Everyday Label” punch. A piece of Old Olive was punched to mask the greeting and again, add that nice touch of color.

We created 4 quick -n- easy cards that were tucked into one of the Acetate Card Boxes. This makes a perfect little gift for a teacher or neighbor … or keep them protected for yourself!

Hope you enjoyed today’s peek into our Saturday morning retreat stampin’ session. I’ll be back tomorrow with one more …

Till then, enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.

Here is a quick list of the products used for our card today …

Night in Bethlehem / Guest Stamper: Lynne O.

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Quilted Christmas Guest Stamper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m not only going to share with you my Quilted Christmas creation for our Holiday Retreat but one of the swap cards that was done by one our attendees! Two … Two … Two times more fun!

We’re going to begin with our Attendee Swap and  Guest stamper: Cindy C.  We were lucky that Cindy chose the Quilted Christmas as her swap because then our guests had yet another sample from this fabulous suite!

If you like quick and simple cards for your Christmas cardmaking, this card may be a good choice for you. It’s so cute and with the patterned designer paper, it’s going to be fun and easy to recreate.

Our next card utilized the coordinating die set … I wanted to show our guests how easy it was to use these framelits dies in unison with the designer paper.

The frame was cut out of Real Red using “what I call” the main quilting design from the set. The green plaid was cut with a secondary piece, what’s neat about this one is it fits with the red frame and leaves a stitching look on it.

The white and green designer paper is just a square cut to the size of the red piece. Once we glued this together (Let Dry) we ran it through the BigShot using the Quilt Top Impressions folder … it looks so cool!!

The additional die cut flower comes from the framelits set and the greeting from the stamp set. I LOVE BUNDLES & Suites!! Having “everything” coordinate makes your cardmaking so much easier.

There is so much more you can do with the Quilted Christmas product suite that I have decided to do an additional class! Watch my blog or check out my website for upcoming classes!

Thanks so much for hanging around with me and waiting for this second look at our Quilted Christmas portion of my Holiday Retreat.

Have a wonderful day ~

Simply Sunday: Season’s Greetings

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another card created from the Snowflake Sentiments bundle. I have had many requests to showcase more than one card when doing the popular bundles.

I hope you got to see the “glamorous” Gold and Vanilla cards that I shared yesterday … oh so pretty! Today I’m using one of my favorite new In-Colors “Tranquil Tide” … all stamps and dies used today are again from the Snowflake Sentiments.

With the exception of the Oval Framelits and Stitched Shapes Framelits … these were used for the “Season’s Greetings” which comes in the bundle. I love the little swirls that come in this bundle – I used the Silver Foil for these, and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper for the snowflake.

Our designer paper comes from the “Delicate Daisy” paper. Hint… Hint … this is one of the designer papers that are currently on sale (Buy 3 / Get 1 Free).

The inside was stamped with this wonderful sentiment and with little swirl that are included in the bundle as well. I also created a matching envelope by using the snowflake stamp and the swirl.

Super Simple to create … just a little stamping and a few runs through the BigShot and you are ready for assembly.

Thank you so much for joining me this Sunday. Stop back tomorrow, I have a cute Christmas card that features 2 more of the dies (you haven’t seen) that are included in the Snowflake Sentiments bundle.

Enjoy your Sunday ~

Merry Little Christmas Suite

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Snowflakes in July

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you enjoyed the beautiful day yesterday! I picked up my sister Eileen and escaped for a little day trip to Baraboo! We did the Circus World Museum and the Merrimac Ferry … it was a good day!

Sunday I shared my Daisy card with you and said I would show you how versatile the Delightful Daisy Designer paper could be, well, I teamed it up with the amazing Colorful Seasons bundle from the Color Theory Suite and here is the result …

At first glance at the designer paper I got the feeling of a pretty snowfall … the beautiful new Tranquil Tide color, adds to the softness of a snowfall. Kind of brought me back to the days when I was a kid and loved to watch the snow first fall.

The greeting comes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and was stamped in Tranquil Tide Ink. It was cut out with one of the oval shapes from the Stitched Framelits dies.

I made the snowflakes from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  When cutting from the Glimmer paper, I cut from the back (not the glittery side) because it cuts through easier. The new Faceted Gems were added to the snowflakes for even more sparkle and texture.

Another simple layout but the outcome is beautiful. With the heat wave that will soon be upon us … the thought of pretty snowflakes might be a little comforting!

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas in July …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you have been enjoying the “My Hero” showcase. You’ve seen 3 different cards made with this stamp set and I have another for you today.

We’ve all heard of Christmas in July, and today is the 1st of July so I’m sharing my first Christmas card of the year! The saying is from the “My Hero” stamp set and was teamed up with the “This Christmas” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the NEW “Holly” Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

000_3515

I just love that Stampin’ Up! packages cardstocks to coordinate with our Designer papers … it just makes life so much easier.

Once the greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler it was punched out using the 2″ circle punch. I backed the greeting with our “Metallic Foil Doilies” … it just adds a beautiful touch to the card.

000_3516

To top it all off and complete my card, I added a gold star from the NEW “Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Are you starting to see how fun and versatile this stamp set it? I’ll have another for you tomorrow too, so be sure to come back and check it out.

Till then …

Have a great day!

Throw-back Thursday: Christmas Past

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Christmas cards from Christmas’ past.  I’m taking cards that can still be made with a change of designer paper or so.

I’d like to start with my JOY card using the  “Wondrous Wreath” stamp set and “Wonderful Wreath” Framelits … that is where the Joy and the Bow come from. This card comes from my November 2014 files and is still current today!

000_1652-BThe wreath framelit coordinates with our new “Peaceful Wreath” in the Holiday catalogs and is still available.

This quick and easy card can also be made today with our “Star’s Framelits” and any designer paper you love, and a touch of ribbon!

000_1625

We also have some great holiday greetings sets. My favorite is the Versatile Christmas stamp set (CLICK HERE).

140392G

My tree card comes from the “Festival of Trees” stamp set and the “Tree” punch which are both still available to order.

000_1734_0001You could add any designer paper as a background to add more color. This year we have then new “Peaceful Pines” stamp set which can be bundled with the Perfect Pines Framelit Dies!

Looking for a super simple card to make? So true … some of us do not have our cards done yet, so here’s the answer … Designer Paper, a greeting and a bow!

000_1545

This card is so easy to make and will still leave quite an impression! Just think of all the beautiful designer papers in the holiday catalog.

I hope this gave you a few more ideas. The last one would work great for birthdays too!

Thank you for joining me today.

Have a wonderful day ~

STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST …

ALL IS CALM … In Black & Gold

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share with you a beautiful card that showcases one of this years hottest trends: Black and Gold! This is another of the swap cards made for our Holiday Stampin’ Retreat. Our guest stamper today is Anne.

000_2827

This layered Whisper White card has just the right amount of black and gold to make this card so elegant. I love the textured background using our new “Softly Falling” embossing folder.

The banners were created using the Triple Banner punch and highlight the “Festival of Tree’s” stamp set and “Tree” punch. All three items can be found in the main Stampin’ Up! catalog. The Gold Cord Trim that adds that touch of glimmer to the card can be found in the Holiday catalog on page 24.

The greeting comes from the “Wonderland” stamp set … very popular stamp set this year.  Check it out, you’ll find it on page 23 of the Holiday catalog.

The star and gold banner were created using the gold Foil Sheets in the main catalog. This gorgeous card was then topped off with the pretty pearls.

000_2827

What do you think of this new trend of Black & Gold? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for dropping in today.

Hope your day is a good one.

Simply Sunday: Guest Stamper – Eileen S.

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have another swap card that I wanted to share with you. My sister Eileen made this card for our Holiday Stamping Retreat Swap. It is so pretty and easy to recreate!

Let’s begin with our base colors: Mossy Meadow and Whisper White. One of the Mossy Meadow layers was embossed with the “Stylish Stripes” embossing folder from the main Stampin’ Up! catalog.

000_2821

The next layer features the cheerful “Merry Moments” Designer Series Paper. This is also in our main catalog and has such fun patterns! It’s a must have on your Christmas list!

The greeting is one of my favorites this year and comes from the new “Cozy Christmas” stamp set found in the Holiday Catalog on page 9. It’s just one of the fabulous products in the “Home for Christmas” Suite.

I can’t forget to mention the “Metallic Foil Doilies” … it really draws your eye to the focal point, which is your greeting, and adds enough shine to really make you think Christmas!

000_2818

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as all of us at retreat did, and thank you for stopping over to my blog today.

Have a beautiful Sunday ~

Christmas Poinsettia in Red Foil …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a lovely card to share with you that I created for our 2015 Holiday Stampin’ Retreat last weekend. Not sure if I could pick a favorite but this one was at the top … I think it’s the beautiful red foil poinsettia.

I will take you step by step as I create the poinsettia from our “Festive Flower Builder” punch and used on my card ….

000_2794

First let me begin with the how many pieces I used to create the flower and how I cut my cardstock. I use 1 – 3″ x 6″ piece and 1 – 1-1/2″ x 6′ piece of cardstock. You will punch a full punch on the larger piece twice … then punch 2 more smaller petals and 1 large petal from that piece. On the smaller piece you will be able to easily punch 5 more larger petals for a total of 8.

000_2784

You need 8 – larger petals, 4 – small petals, 2 double petals (which you will get when you fully punch). You will also need a circle punch as a base.  You can see mine is full of the Tear & Tape adhesive.

000_2785

Before I begin assembling … I get a little curl by using my Paper Piercing tool.

000_2787

Next I take the circle base and adhere 4 of the large petals directly onto the base. I add 3 dimensionals on top of the petals in the center to create lift and to help hold it together.

000_2789

Now layer the next four large petals onto the dimensionals and place them between the first set of petals you placed on your base. I adhere the petals so they almost touch each other in the center. Then I place one dimensional in the center.

000_2790

The next step is to place the double petal into the center and between the last layer of petals. Before I place the last double petal onto the stack, I add a glue dot to the center to ensure that it holds together well.

000_2791

To finish off the poinsettia, I colored the Rhinestones yellow with my Blendabilities but you can easily use a Sharpie. I just figured I would use what I have handy at home. Ohhhh … isn’t it pretty!! We did the poinsettia in the red foil and red glimmer paper!

000_2795

It’s hard to see from this photo but the Whisper White is actually embossed with the “Stylish Stripes” embossing folder and then the center was highlighted the beautiful “Holiday’s Fancy Foil Designer Series Vellum”. I love all 3 of the patterns in the vellum!!

The poinsettia is then attached to the vellum area with dimensionals. I finished off the card with rhinestones that I had colored red.

If you take a peek on the inside of my card … you will see the homestead from the “Cozy Christmas” stamp set.

I really love these pretty flowers, and once Christmas is over, you can begin your “spring” garden of flowers! I’ve been making quite a few over the last few days so we can finish off our cards.

Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me!

Have a wonderful day ~
