Halloween Happiness …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Did you know that today is National Frankenstein day?

So … I couldn’t resist and made a fun Halloween card using the Scary Cute bundle and the “Frankenstein” in the stamp set. I also used a couple of the dies from the bundle to spook it up a bit!

I used Gorgeous Grape and Night of Navy along with the Blending Brushes to create Frankenstein’s backdrop. The banner, house and moon were all die cut from the coordinating dies. A bit of Washi Tape to add some sparkle.

We have  eight weeks before Halloween … what better way to celebrate than to make cute cards of the monster himself? Better yet, find a friend and create together… Isn’t that what Frankenstein and Igor did? The two months of prep will give you plenty of time to design the perfect cards and decorations for your Ghouls and Goblins at your Halloween event.

I’ll be sharing more Halloween inspiration throughout those eight weeks, till then have a great day.

Halloween Gothic Night

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am so excited to share today’s card with you … it is my second card creation from the “Magic in this Night” suite. Along with all the hauntingly stunning images from this suite, I will be sharing a neat technique with you.

Yesterday I used basic Halloween colors so today I focused on the color pallet in the suite, and I fell in love! My card base and designer paper pattern are the Pretty Peacock … the richness of this color and the delicate images in the stamp set turned this into a WOW card ….

I chose the Pretty Peacock design that reminded me of wallpaper in a grand Queen Anne home from days gone by. I wanted to add the feeling of “Magic in this Night” so I matted the designer paper with the Black Glitter paper… before mounting it, I cut out the mat for my greeting border from the center (perfect paper saving technique).

I stamped the border and wanted to add color to it but also wanted that “shimmer” so I used this simple by over looked technique: I began by tapping my ink pad onto a clear block … then get the Wink of Stella pen. I used my Wink of Stella as a paint brush and picked up the ink from the block and painted my flowers. I love this technique of coloring my flowers, you can add more ink to darken where wanted.

I also colored in my bat with the ink and Wink of Stella… this technique just adds to the magic of this card. The leaves were colored with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Duo.

The sentiment was stamped with Pretty Peacock into the border and then die cut. Once cut, I secured it onto the black glitter paper using the Tombo glue … it works best on glitter paper.

This assembly was popped up to create some dimension, and then the bat was also popped up! I could not resist adding the Iridescent Pearls and I’m glad I did because it really balanced and completed the card (and they are pretty!).

Are you a Halloween fan? And what do you prefer … the fun, the scary, or an elegant look of Halloween?

I thank you for stopping by today to check out my creation. Enjoy your day!

Magic in this Night

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s Friday and I have a frighteningly beautiful card to share with you today. It’s created from the Magic in the Night Suite from the new Mini Catalog. I’m mailing today but for those who live close to me … schedule a time with me to pick up your new mini!!

The Magic in this Night Suite will add a touch of spooky elegance to your projects with detailed imagery and striking colors, just check out the designer paper …

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 153517g.jpg

The color pallet for the Magic in the Night designer paper is; Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze and Basic Black. The pattern I used is the same as the Cajun Craze pattern on top but in Black. The lace is pretty and perfect for dressing up my card.

I backed (matted) my designer paper with a traditional Halloween color of purple, in our world known as Gorgeous Grape! The two detailed bats are on one stamp but far enough apart to ink them separately … which is what I did. They are then cut out with the coordinating dies.

I used the coordinating dies to cut my greeting out as well which is framed with the stunning frame …

The cute little bats are also die cut from the Halloween Magic Dies using the amazing Black Glitter paper … one cut and done, because these three bats are all on one die!

Just looking at this card gives me even more ideas for creating hauntingly beautiful cards for this Halloween season … and I’m sure I’ll find more to use some of these items than on Halloween!

Thank you for hanging out for me today and taking a peek into the new Mini catalog full of Holiday goodies!

Have a great day, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.

Friday the 13th: Monster Bash Cards

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

For those of you who enjoy staring at the moon… you’re in for a treat this week.  Get ready for the harvest moon effect — when it will seem like five consecutive nights of full moons. And for the first time in 19 years, Wisconsinites will get a full moon on Friday the 13th, and it won’t happen again until August 13, 2049!!

I have a full moon for you …

The inside greeting also comes from the “Spooktacular Bash” stamp set and was stamped onto the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then punched a 1-1/2″ circle from a piece of scrap cardstock and used it as a “mask” so I could sponge a moon onto the card … just to add a little more drama. I used Crushed Curry for my moon, which coordinates with the Monster Bash Designer paper!

There are so many cute patterns in the Monster Bash Designer paper and this is one of my favorites.  I love anything that makes my card making quick and easy! BUT … it has to be cute, handsome or beautiful!! We won’t skimp on looks!

I have another cute card for you, both of these I have shared earlier but I couldn’t resist sharing these on Friday the 13th!!  I have more samples but can’t share them yet, they are for my Halloween Bash Class tonight.  I really like the vintage looking pattern on this card (actually, the background is another pattern/color in the paper pack).

Our handsome couple comes from yet another pattern in the Monster Bash Designer series paper.  The beautiful frame behind the picture comes from the coordinating die set.  This vintage look of this could be used for a “real” anniversary card or anything you choose … just replace our couple with a sentiment or a flower pattern.

Thank you so much for joining me today, I’ll be back tomorrow at my usual time with another great card.

Have a beautiful day.

TODAY’S STAMPIN’ SUPPLY LIST: I have listed the entire Monster Bash Suite (One number and you’ve got it all) and the bundle, along with each product I used seprately. There is a 10% Discount on the Bundle (including when you purchase it in the suite).

Monsterversary …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you had a great weekend and that you had a chance to check out yesterdays Monster Bash card. A quick -n- simple card with plenty of “spooky” and cute Halloween characters. Speaking of those bewitching characters … we’re joining them to celebrate an anniversary today! I fell in love with the beautiful filigree designer paper, so that will be the base of todays card …

Our anniversary couple was cut from another fun pattern of the Monster Bash Designer paper and I painted the frame with … you guessed it “Wink of Stella”. I just had to add a little glitz to the anniversary card.

The frame was die cut using one of the elaborate frames from the Ornate Frames Dies in the suite … because this one was not the height I needed, I again the cut it in half lengthwise and adhered it to the back to create a mat.  This left a gap between the top and bottom, so I tucked in the beautiful Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon ribbon!! The added sparkle pairs nicely with the Wink of Stella.

The greeting comes in the “Itty Bitty Greeting” stamp set from the Annual Catalog. I stamped into onto Whisper White and cut it out using another of the dies from the Ornate Frames Dies included in the bundle. Then I used one large black enamel dot and two of the small dots from the Monster Bash Enamel shaped and popped the entire assembly onto the card with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I find this Monster Bash product suite so fun to create with.  In fact, watch for a fun class announcement this week. If you love all things Halloween, you are going to love this upcoming class.  Make sure your on my mailing list and / or follow my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page.

Thank you for sharing your day with me!

Have a great day.

Simply Sunday: Monster Bash Suite

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

With the Holiday Catalog going live in a little more than a week, I just couldn’t wait to share a bit of the SPOOKY side today.  I am using products from the Monster Bash suite … keeping it simple but the pattern I picked from the Monster Bash Designer paper, you don’t need much else! This pattern boosts Haunted Houses, Vampires, Bats and more …

With just this dazzling piece of designer paper, some layering of Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie, topped off with a simple greeting … you have a cute card!

The greeting comes in the coordinating “Spooktacular Bash” stamp set. I stamped into onto the Paper Pumpkin cardstock and punched it out using the Tailored Tag punch, the punched out another piece in Basic Black … cut it in half lengthwise and adhered it to the back to create a mat.  I used the large black enamel dots from the Monster Bash Enamel shaped and popped it onto the card with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I like to cut one sheet from each designer paper pack into 4′ x 6″ pieces … this forces me to use my cardstock and quit hoarding it!! lol  I can then trim the pieces down to fit my card, which I did here and then used the piece I trimmed off to compliment the inside of the card. It’s so cute.

Hope you enjoyed the card.  Sorry for the late post today … I spent Friday with my great-grandson, daughter and grand-daughter shopping and going to the movies.  We went to see Toy Story 4, and yes, I cried!!   And Saturday was Eileen’s sons 50th birthday … so we spent the entire day and late into the evening with him. Needless to say, I did not get much stamping done this weekend!

Thank you so much for joining me today, I’ll be back tomorrow at my usual time with another great card.

Have a beautiful day.

Seasonal Chums: Jack-O-Lantern

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today is day 2 of my “Halloween Week” … oooooh we are going to have so much fun!! There will be cards, projects and even a scrapbook page!

Today’s card is one of the projects we made at our September Stamp Club. The Seasonal Chums bundle is a cute new item in the Holiday catalog (page 47) and are more than just “tags”. Look what we did …

We made a cute little window card that exposes our greeting and highlights our Jack-o-lantern. The images are easily cut out with the coordinating framelits dies.

The background was created with the “Brick Wall” embossing folder and gives our card the added texture it needed.

The Circle and Stitched framelits were used to create our window … a double cut on the Lemon Lime cardstock gives us a pop of color and draws your eye to the focal point.

Our little Jack-o-lantern was colored with the Blender pens and ink pads … including his backside! The grass was pulled from the “A Little Wild” stamp set which also has the double stamps.

Thanks for joining me today. Stop back tomorrow to see what else you can do with these cute little stamps!

Have yourself a wonderful week!

Just for You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Squeezing in a quick post from my phone (again) as my Charter internet service was down again last night! But as promised …I have another cute card from our “My Hero” stamp set.

I created this one using the “pumpkin” from the stamp set and the wave pattern from the Swirly Scribbles Framelit dies! My color pallet is Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla.

I curled two of the pieces to add some fun dimension to the card … and it reminded me of pumpkin vines. The little spots come from the Swirly Bird stamp set. It just all coordinated so nicely together.

My greeting comes from the “Watercolor Words” stamp set. The bold font of this set fits right in with the whimsical feel of today’s card.

Thanks so much for taking a part of your day to visit my blog, stop back tomorrow to, as I will be sharing another “My Hero” card and some of the fun we had at our Kick Off Party on Monday.

Have yourself a beautiful day !

Do You Believe in Ghosts … Spooky!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I continue with my “Halloween Week”.  I know that it’s Tuesday and I usually post the new Weekly Deals, don’t worry I have the link that will take you directly to them! You won’t miss a thing, I promise.

A quick and simple card created with the “Happy Haunting” designer Series paper…. this just makes card making so easy! I put my little ghosties on the bottom and stripes on the top! I finished off the bare edges of my paper with the “Basic Black Stitched Satin Ribbon”.

My greeting comes from the “Among the Branches” stamp set (it’s bundled with the Woodland Textured Folder) which I embossed in black on Pear Pizzazz. I used the “Circle Framelits” to cut it out.

I added the two little banners to a a touch more color and give the card . Wow … those creepy little eyes staring back at you from the inside, kind of gives me the goosebumps! Well, it is Halloween!

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to take you to a “spooky” place … the dark side! I showed my Stampin’ Technique club this month a neat way of sponging a background on a colored piece of cardstock …

We began with the So Saffron cardstock and started sponging with the Crushed Curry. I like the way the Curry bring depth to the yellow tones. Next we blending in Tangerine Tango and finally blended our edge in Cajun Craze. It creates a bit of a haunting effect … don’t you think?

Now that I had my background complete I wanted to add something new … I’ve been dying to get my hands on the “Sleigh Ride” Edgelits Dies (but why wait till Christmas!)

I used the “trees” die and added it to my background … yes, I liked the look. Hmmm … what next, the Spider Web Doily of course! Yes … I liked that too!

Yes, it’s a bit on the dark side, but I figured even Halloween likes to shine, so I matted my background with the silver glimmer paper and added my “Spooky” greeting also from the silver greeting. You can find “spooky” in with the Seasonal Frame thinlits dies.

It’s a bit unique yes, but I liked the way the glimmer paper lighted it all up. A little Hocus Pocus I would say!

Thank you so much for “dropping” in.

I hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Simply Sunday: Howl-o-ween Sneak Peak!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I told you that I would share a cute card created with the Howl-o-ween stamp set that I won at Convention. It is a quick and easy card and they layout works for anything!

I started with my Howl-o-ween stamp set and teamed it up with the “Cherry on Top” designer series paper stack. I chose the little candies … how appropriate

for Trick-or-Treat! I simply stamped the greeting on Crushed Curry and punched it out using the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch. I followed up by punching out a black circle with the 1-3/4″ punch.

For the highlight … I punched out a piece of the designer paper and covered it with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds!! It just adds a sweet touch of sparkle to the card.

Just think of all the different type of cards you can create using this layout… three simple punches, some pretty paper and a greeting!

Look for the Howl-o-ween stamp set in the upcoming Holiday catalog. If you are a current customer of mine, yours will be arriving mid-August!!

If you would like to have a catalog (and you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator) and would like me to be your demonstrator – please e-mail me at lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

Thank you for taking the top to stop in today … stop back and see what I have for you tomorrow!

Have a beautiful Sunday ~
