Sneak Peek: Share the Love with the Heart Shaped Bundle!

The Heart Shaped Stamp Set features beautiful floral heart designs paired with heartfelt sentiments like “My Heart Loves Your Heart,” “Thank You,” and “My Thoughts of You.” You can customize your cards by layering delicate floral details or die-cutting the coordinating label piece to spotlight your favorite sentiments.

Today, I’m excited to share a beautiful card created with this bundle! It features the large floral die cut hearts and “Just Because I Care” sentiment, framed with die-cut details that add the perfect touch of elegance.

Measurements:

  • Cardstock: Berry Burst  8 ½” x 5 ½” Scored and folded at 4 ¼”
  • Cardstock 2: Basic Black 5 1/4″ x 4″ plus 3″ x 3″ for die cut heart
  • Cardstock 3:  Daffodil Delight  3” x 3”  for die cut heart
  • Cardstock 4:  Granny Apple Green 3” x 3”  for die cut heart
  • Cardstock 4: Basic White 5 ¼” x 4” (inside) and scrap to stamp flowers & greeting
  • Designer Paper: Beautiful Bokeh (Berry Burst) 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Score Berry Burst base at 4 ¼” Fold and burnish
  • Attach Basic White to inside of card
  • Attach designer paper to black mat and attach that to card front
  • Using heart die, die cut the Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green (remover centers).
  • Die cut black heart but keep center in the die cut heart.
  • Attach Daffodil and Granny Apple Green hearts to card front with Liquid glue as shown on picture, then using Stampin’ Dimensionals; attach full black heart to center of card.
  • Stamp trio of flowers and greeting with Berry Burst ink and then die cut with coordinating dies.
  • To finish, embellish with the Antique Pearls.

Now let me show you how these 3 items work together like a beautifully choreographed dance. For both of my cards I am using the Largest of the rectangle dies (upper left-hand corner of picture above), this die cuts two ways. I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″, as it cuts, it leaves you with two pieces … a frame and a second rectangle I’ll use on the “second” card. Let’s look at our framed design:

The designer paper in the back was cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″ so it would peek out from behind our frame. The beautiful bird was “fussy” cut from the designer paper and our greeting was Heat Embossed in white and embellished with the Iridescent Rhinestones … just a little bling for mama.

Here you will get a good feel on all the dimension this adds to your card …

Time to shift our creativity to the center piece of the large rectangle die cut. Let’s begin with some Misty Moonlight and our blending brushed for just a hint of color to highlight our birds. Our backdrop piece of designer paper also comes from Flight & Airy and was cut 3/4″ larger than the rectangle piece.

Our greeting, from the Heartfelt Hello stamp set was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink and die cut from the smallest rectangle in our featured die set today: the Everyday Details Dies.

Free Tutorial Friday: Thanks A Bunch Card

It’s time for Free Tutorial Friday! Direct from the pages of our Sale-a-Bration catalog comes the Thanks A Bunch stamp set!

You’ll “carrot” a lot about all the things you can do with the Thanks a Bunch Stamp Set. This Two-Step Stampin’ set makes it easy to build a vegetable garden scene. With more than half a dozen greetings to choose from, you can create friendship- and spring-themed cards for a variety of occasions. Harvest these playful images and greetings for yourself!

Measurements: 

  • Card Base: Pumpkin Pie- 4 ¼” x 11”
  • Cardstock #2: Pumpkin Pie- strip 2” x 5 ¼”
  • Cardstock #3: Basic White- 4” x 5 ¼”, 2 ¾” x 4” layer, and 2 ½” x 1 ¼” for sentiment
  • Cardstock #4: Garden Green- 3” x 4 ¼”

Instructions:

  • Score the Pumpkin Pie card base of the long side at 5 ½” and fold.
  • Stamp the small carrot bunch mostly on the sides of the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White layer in Pumpkin Pie. Add the tops of the carrots with Garden Green ink.
  • Attach this layer to the card front using Stampin’ SEAL. Then, attach the strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock on top with Stampin’ SEAL.
  • Take the last Basic White layer and stamp three large carrots in Pumpkin Pie. Start in the center and add one to each side. Then, stamp the detailed stripes on the carrots using Calypso Coral ink. Stamp the carrot tops in Garden Green ink.
  • Attach this layer to the Garden Green cardstock layer using Stampin’ SEAL. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and add to the center of the card front.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Calypso Coral ink on the last piece of Basic White cardstock. Die-cut the sentiment using the Stylish Shapes Dies.
  • Make a faux bow with the Garden Green ribbon and attach it to the card front using Mini Glue Dots. Add the sentiment on top of the ribbon using Mini Glue Dots.
  • Lastly, add three gems to the card front.

You are the Key to My Heart

Key to My Heart: Alternative Paper Pumpkin Card

Happy Friday Stampin’ Friends ~

As promised, I’m back to share my Alternative Card from the Key to My Heart Paper Pumpkin kit. I used most of the items from the January kit except for the Vellum oval that I cut from the Framed Florets Dies.

The original design has 3 padlocks on the front … I borrowed one! Then I knew I wanted to use the Key to “unlock” their heart. I used the vellum oval to really highlight my heart lock and key, and with dimensionals on back, it gives it dimension as well.

I added a little bow to my key which is included in the January Paper Pumpkin kit, and it ties in the color of our heart lock. Then I stamped my greeting in Fresh Freesia and trimmed the ends off the banner.

One of the main reasons I love the Paper Pumpkin kits is the Exclusive Stamp Sets!! Not to mention you can collect many colors of “spots” ink pads and the ease of having a kit so you can whip out a card when needed … no lengthy though process to design your own card.

Simply Sunday: Simply Gorgeous Dainty Flowers Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Sunday! Today I’m sharing a super simple card that is Simply Gorgeous using the Dainty Flowers Designer paper you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration.

For those who don’t know what Sale-a-bration is, it’s Stampin’ Up!s most anticipated time of year because YOU can earn FREE “exclusive” products now through February 28th. Yes, sometimes the freebies sell out, so I don’t hesitate to get the ones I love first! Click HERE to learn more about Sale-a-bration.

Early in the week I shared a cutting technique using the Dainty Flowers (CLICK HERE to see post) and now I want to share what I did with some of the left overs! This piece is 12″ x 6″ – it’s simply cut in half, so you have another sheet just like this one (and a full one too!).

These will show the left over pieces from my first card (they are marked on the paper). Now I’d like to share my finished card and give you the simple instructions to create your own card ….

If you take a look at the layout of the Dainty Flowers paper I have “marked” … the pattern piece I chose for today’s card is on the right. My colors were chosen to highlight the daisies of Mango Melody with Early Espresso centers. The third color I used was Old Olive to bring in my greens from the designer paper.

The Early Espresso card base is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and is scored and folded at 4-1/4″ (basic A-2 size). I had to trim the top off my designer paper from 6″ to 5-1/2″ to match my card base. The Mango Melody mat behind the Dainty Flowers designer paper is 5-1/2″ x 3-3/4″. Simple measurements for this simply beautiful card (the designer paper does all the work)

Speaking of this designer paper, I had to share a close up so you could see the “look” of texture that it has. We don’t have to do anything … it’s already there for us. It adds such a warm and natural look with these beautiful flowers. And the flowers, well … I have fallen in love with the “watercolor” look. It truly is a work of art, and to share this masterpiece …. just add cardstock.

And a sentiment, which comes from the Dainty Delights stamp set. I suggest the bundle so you don’t have to “fussy cut” any flowers, the dies will do that for you! I’ll share more of that with you as well. Today the sentiment was punched using the Double Oval Punch.

Just so you know, when you purchase the Dainty Delights bundle, you can chose the Dainty Flowers Designer paper for FREE! It’s a perfect pairing. I will also be hosting a Dainty Delights Class in February.
