Simply Wonderful …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Wooo Hooo … we are above zero this morning!!  I think that’s wonderful 🙂

Today’s card share is a card that I cased (Copy And Share Everything) from a swap I received at my Star’s downline meeting.  I believe it’s from my sister Eileen.

I used the “Retro Fresh” Washi Tape, and based on the color pallet used I stamped my greeting and center flower in Baked Brown Sugar.  The flower was stamped with So Saffron.

000_0751

Wow … it’s that easy.  The washi tape piece of cardstock measures 5-1/4″ x 4″.  I then started on the left side and began to apply my washi tape.  Next, I moved to the right side and applied the washi tape in the same pattern as the left … I finished the middle section last.  This helped me space out my washi tape easier.

The flower comes from the “Mixed Bunch” stamp set and was stamped in So Saffron.  I then punched it out using the “Blossoms” punch.  I know many of my club stampers have these two coordinating items, so if you have your washi tape … you are ready to make cards.

The center was stamped with another flower from the Mixed Bunch set and punched out using the 1″ circle punch.  The pop of color in the center is “Coastal Cabana”.

My apologies for the greeting, I did not realize that “Friendly Phrases” was retired until after I had my pictures taken and was ready for the blog.  My suggestion would be to use the beautiful “just because” from the stamp set “A Dozen Thoughts”.   I’ve used that several times already … the “just because” is one of my favorites.

000_0753

Don’t forget your Stampin’ Dimensionals because I “popped up” the washi tape section, the flower and both centers.  You gotta love how fun and simple this card is!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Have a wonderful day ~

Live Happy & Enjoy the Weekly Deals …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today’s card share is a reflection of what I showed you the past two days.  I also have the NEW weekly deals listed for you today.  I am using the “You’re Lovely” Sale-a-bration stamp set, and a similar layout as I did yesterday… like I did for the fab four.

This simple technique of using similar layouts to produce a different looking card can make our busy lives much easier.  I know some of you love to sit and create – others like the simple, easy to recreate cards.  That is why stamping is so much fun, you can do it your way!

I changed my color pallet from yesterdays Basic Black, Real Red and Very Vanilla, to Island Indigo, Pool Party and Whisper White.  I am using the “Quarterfancy” Designer Specialty Paper (left over from the fab four).

000_0747

I used the floral stamp today, along with the “Live Happy” greeting that comes in the “You’re Lovely” stamp set.  This was stamped in Black StazOn.  I used my “Blender Pens” and the Pool Party ink pad to color in the flowers.  The greeting was stamped in Island Indigo.

The stamped image and the Island Indigo mat where cut out with the “Deco Labels Collection” framelits.  I can’t believe that I did not have this collection of framelits!  The entire piece was popped up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished off my card by embellishing with the Pearls.  I love the string of pearls, it makes embellishing your card so easy!  You saw me wrap them all around the oval on the baby card from the “Fab Four” post.

Lovely & Lace

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you have a “fab”ulous weekend!  Thanks so much for the comments and for sharing my blog!  Please … feel free to share with all your friends, that is what stamping is all about, a collection of fun, creative minds.

On January 29th, I introduced that stamp set “You’re Lovely”, from the Sale-a-bration catalog and said that it coordinates with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits (and that I would be ordering them).  Well … they have arrived and I got a chance to use them this weekend.  I don’t know how I got along without them – they work nicely with our circle punches too!

I used the same stamp as I did in January, but will be sure to make more for you with the others.  I then cut it out with the Deco Labels Framelit and also cut a mat from Basic Black.

000_0743

I wanted the pretty flowers to pop, so I used the Real Red ink pad and a Blender Pen to color them in.  I went over the greenery with the “Wild Wasabi” Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I wanted to use some Designer Series Paper for my card and decided to use the “Modern Medley” … I think it suits this stamp nicely.

Next I wanted to add a touch of lace, but with the light background and the polka dots, it was a bit hard to see.  So, I decided to thread a pop of color in it.  There is a definite pattern in the lace ribbon so I used that for the spacing of the weave.

I used the needle from the “Heartfelt Banner Kit” – the end of the needle is not sharp but still goes through the lace.  Once you get the ribbon up to the lace, you just wiggle it through sideways.  It’s a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty good.  I also tied a bow (the fork bow) and attached it with Glue Dots.

To finish off my card, I felt I need something at the bottom … so I colored my Pearls with a Black Sharpie Marker (permanent marker) and added them to the bottom to balance out the card.  I also added 2 to the greeting to complete the look.  I love black pearls!  In fact, you can have whatever color you want … Sharpie makes a variety of colors.

000_0744

I have added my list of ingredients to the bottom of my post … You will notice that if you order the items shown here today – You will get the “You’re Lovely” Stamp set for FREE!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

The Fab Four …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

A happy Sunday to you!  I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.  I have been in my stampin’ studio creating all weekend … it’s been far too long since I spent an entire day stamping.

Let me start by saying that “YOU” inspire me!  Yesterday I showed you a simple card and said… “Just think of all the wonderful cards you could make using this layout and some designer series paper!”  So I went into my Stampin’ Studio and created “the Fab Four” just for you!

Now … my “Fab Four” are not the Beatles, however I think it is amazing that they are being honored tonight … “The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute To The Beatles” on CBS Television Network tonight … Sunday, Feb. 9 at  8 p.m. ET/PT — exactly 50 years to the day, date, and time of the original event – the Ed Sullivan Show.

USPress_05_sm

My “Fab Four” are much easier to recreate … LOL  I decided to use the same stamp set as I did on yesterday’s card; A Dozen Thoughts.  Then I chose the “Quarterfancy Specialty Paper.  All 4 cards will use these two items.  The punch and ribbons will change slightly.

Let’s take a look at the first card share following the exact same layout as yesterday …

000_0732

I replaced the heart with the butterfly and the red ribbon to white.  A totally different look, just by changing out the paper and greeting; “you made my day” in Island Indigo!  I will have a list of ingredients at the end of the post.

Next you will notice a slight change, as the specialty paper is the “clear patterned” paper.  It allows you to use any color … I chose the Pink Pirouette and the “it’s a girl” greeting.  With the use of the large oval punch and the basic pearls, you can create a simply elegant baby card.

Its a girl

My third card share … I moved the ribbon down closer to the bottom of the card and stamped my “Wish Big” greeting directly onto the new “Essentials Wooden Elements” .  They can be found in the Occasions Catalog.

Now remember, these cards look totally different but I am only using 1 designer paper packet … don’t you love it!

000_0739

For the last card to round out my “Fab Four” … I changed it up by creating a horizontal card.  Same card pattern, of a ribbon, designer paper, and a greeting!  The button comes from the “Naturals Designer Buttons” found in our big catalog and idea book.

000_0738

Banners are “hot” right now, so that is why you see them on two of my four cards… besides they look cool.  Just like the hairdo’s the Beatles had when they first arrived here in the US.

So I hope you enjoyed my “Fab Four”…  One simple pattern, one designer paper packet, and one stamp set can be your basic tools to create many different card looks.

Thank you so much for spending a part of your day with me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ~

Simply Saturday … Valentine

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Holy cow … I’m a bit late with my post today!  Got caught up in the Winter Olympics and then in my stampin’ room creating.  Funny how time flies … one minute it’s 9:30 in the morning the next it’s almost 2 in the afternoon!  On that note, let’s get on to the card share.

This Saturday share is simple and easy to make.  Sometimes we get so bogged down with trying to make impressive cards that we forget that sometimes simplicity is pretty!

000_0724

I wanted to make one more Valentine’s card for you …. it’s less than a week away, so I simply layered the beautiful Fancy Foil Designer Vellum in Silver over Real Red mat.  My base is Whisper White.  Then I added a bow using the Real Red Grosgrain Stitched Ribbon.

Next step was to choose a greeting… I pulled “Happy Together” from the “A Dozen Thoughts” stamp set.  I wanted to add a little flair to the greeting, so I turned it into a banner.  A simple heart punched out of the Red Glimmer paper was added to finish off the card.

000_0731

Just think of all the wonderful cards you could make using this layout and some designer series paper!

Have a wonderful Saturday and I’ll see you tomorrow.

A Happy Birthday Note … Quick & Easy!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Burrrrrrrrrr… it is cold again this week.  This has been a “heck” of a winter!  Hope you’re all holding up … even those of you in the 60 to 70 degree Arizona warmth. (tee hee)  We’re jealous!

Today I’m going to share with you a simple layout that will work with any Designer Series Paper and Stamp set.  Of course, I chose one of my favorites… you guessed it, I’m using the Timeless Talk Stamp Set and the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.

000_0720

What a fantastic Birthday card!  Gender neutral … that is always good when we are creating cards.  A bit nostalgic, and I guess that is what draws me to this stamp set.

This sweet stamp set should be a must have in everyone’s collection … I love that the greetings are included in this set.  It includes a “Thanks” … a “Hello” … and of course the “Happy Birthday”.  Seems to me that rounds it out pretty good.

This card is so simple to make, I don’t have a lot of instructions.  The only thing that I forgot to add to my list was the “Ovals Collection Framelits”.  You can find them on page 186 of the annual catalog & Idea book (the big one) or click on the link.

I must say that I do use the Black StazOn ink pad whenever I stamp black images.  I think it works the best.

000_0723

I added a few pearls just to jazz up the card a bit, and used my “Sharpie” marker to color them black.  You “MUST” use a Sharpie / permanent marker so that it does not rub off.

Stay warm … have a wonderful weekend and …

Have a great day!

Fun is “Good as Gold”

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today is all about FUN!!  My card share stems from playin’ around with my FREE Sale-a-bration items.  On December 16th, I introduced you to the “Good as Gold” card kit.  It’s so cute … not to mention quick and easy to assemble and send!

Here is the original card – based on the packet instructions…

101_2297

The kit includes:

* 8 card bases (3-1/2″ x”)

* 8 envelope liners

* 1 sheet gold foil tags

* 1 sheet printed die-cut tags

* 8 pieces of gold elastic cord

* 8 pieces of Bermuda Bay Backers Twine

So … ready for some fun!!  I know that some of my stampers are die-hard “regular card size” stampers, so I thought that it would be fun to use the supplies in the kit to create some “regular” size cards … our 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.

000_0705

I began by cutting the “Good as Gold” card in half, then adding it to a black base and a Bermuda Bay mat.  Still quick -n- easy.

I cut 1″ off the bottom of the gold envelope liner and used it to create a banner.  The greeting comes with the kit.  Instead of tying the bows at the top, I wrapped it around the greeting for a different look.

Next, I took the second half of the card … both sides have the dotted pattern and trimmed it to fit the mat I created from the gold envelope liner.

000_0708

Now … I did not use my Bigshot on the first card, so you know I was going to bring it out for this one!  Because there is more of the base card exposed on this card … I embossed it with the “Decorative Dots” embossing folder.  It coordinates with these cards and it’s FREE too!

I trimmed the greeting down and matted it with the left over gold envelope liner, and popped it up on the card with the stampin’ dimensionals.  The bows were tied at the top and the little banner was added.  Again, simple and easy.

Oh … by the way, I used the “Sweet Sorbet” designer series paper (same design as our cards) to line the envelope.  This time I have to use the envelope framelit dies to cut it out.  The liners included in the kit are pre-cut for you!

I hope these cards inspire you to use your products in some different ways.  Just have fun with it.

Truly Heartfelt … FREE Banner Kit

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

It’s amazing what you can do with FREE stuff!  I had the “Heartfelt Banner Kit” from the new Sale-a-bration catalog and thought I would give it a try.  I was amazed at the length of the project and all the goodies in the kit … even a needle!

The kit was easy to assemble … There are holes in the banners, and the needle easily goes through those fun little pom poms!  This would be a great project to do with your kids, in fact, after Shayla (my granddaughter) saw what I did, she wants one for her room too!

000_0694   000_0697

My next thought was …. what pictures should I put on here?  My last trip?  Hmmmmmmmmm … then it came to me!  Why not use pictures of my last 14 years with Stampin’ Up!!!  My stampin’ friends, my downline, fellow demonstrators, incentive trips, convention and more!

A free gift from Sale-a-bration to celebrate what stamping has brought into my life.  The fun, the friends, confidence I didn’t have before, (can you believe I use to be shy?), recognition for a job well done, travel,  the ability to schedule when you want to work … and yes, the opportunity to earn money doing something so fun.

000_0698

I did have a little difficulty finding pictures of when I first began, I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would still be a demonstrator 14 years later.  Heck … I wasn’t going to do parties, I only started for the discount!  I did a party for my sister-in-law and actually earned money … who knew!!  So then I gathered a group of friends and family and started my first club.

I was really having fun by then, and others started booking parties!  Before I knew it I was just shy of earning my first cruise … Alaska!  Well I made it, thanks to all my stampin’ friends & family.  Love you guys!  This is where my banner begins.

000_0699

I believe that some of my stampin’ friends have become as close as family.  We’ve gone through some wonderful times, and some rough times together … we laughed and we cried.  And to think, this was all because of what some have called “my little stamping job”.  It is sooooooo much more than that.  It’s priceless!

000_0700

My little stampin’ job (LOL) has outlasted 3 manufacturing jobs … for those that don’t know, I have been working in the Quality field for almost 25 years.  In that time, none of those jobs has ever sent me on a cruise, walked me across a stage for my accomplishments, or even given me the recognition or bonuses that I have received from my “little stampin’ job! I love Stampin’ Up!

000_0701

But it’s still the friendships that I have built in the past 14 years with stamping that keeps me stamping.  Sorry, but I can’t help but talk about what a wonderful 14 years it has been.  I hope you can capture that feeling from my banner.  I can’t wait for my stampin’ groups to see it up close.

000_0702

If you have ever … I mean ever, considered what it would be like to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, or just want the discount, contact me (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) I would love to hear your thoughts.  There is no obligation … and we have an amazing opportunity right now.
