Throwback Thursday … with “Tag It”

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With all the social media buzz going on now days, I thought I’d share something fun with you.  No … I’m not posting a “selfie” but I thought it would be fun to do a “Throwback Thursday”.  So today I’m going to share with you some cards that I had made a while back.

I’m actually going to share a “set sampler” with you.  This is a group of cards made from the same stamp set…. today’s set is the “Tag It” stamp set.   Some of these you have seen before, and some will be new to you.  On that note … let’s get on with the sharing!

My first card is a Get Well card that I paired up with the “Quarterfancy Specialty” Designer Paper.  I created it with Daffodil Delight cardstock because I thought it was bright and cheery!  I also used the Polka Dot embossing folder and Daffodil Delight seam binding.

101_1385

This cute birthday card below, is a fun card for the kid of any age … 9 to 92!  I love all the bold colors by using the brights collection: Pacific Point and Real Red.  I teamed it with the In-Color; Gumball Green (this will be retiring this year!)

The “Tag It” stamp set coordinates with the “Chalk Talk Framelits” found on page 187.  I used the tag framelit to create a focal point for my stamped image.

You will also see the cute little “Candy Dots” … I used them to anchor the red banners.  All mounted on the Pacific Point background that was embossed with the “Fancy Fan” folder.

101_1399

The “Tag It” stamp set our Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  Each year Stampin’ Up! designs a new stamp set to raise funds to help families who have children with serious illnesses.  When you buy the “Tag It” stamp set …. Stampin’ Up! will donated $3 to the RMHC.  It’s the best kind of gift.

My next card is a fun and bright way of saying … Congratulations!  Who wouldn’t want this star spangled beauty to celebrate their accomplishments.  Again I used the Chalk Talk Framelits and Candy Dots.  I did however team up my stars with the stripes embossing folder.

101_1379

Oh yes, there is more!   Why … because “I DIG YOU”!!   Oh my gosh … I love this card (I love them all) but this one is just a neat way to tell someone you care about them.

I used the “Epic Day This and That” Designer Series Paper.  The earthy colors work so well with our “digging” tool!  LOL    Oh my … it’s just too cute!

101_1397Oops … I forgot to tell you that I used the “Honeycomb” embossing folder and the fabulously fun to use “This and That” Washi Tape.

I have one last card for you… my “Christmas Around the World” card.  OK … I love this one too!

100_1779

I used the “I Am Me” Designer Series Paper because of this pattern.  I just thought “how can you not use that for a Santa card!”  Right?  Again, I used the Chalk Talk Framelits to cut out Santa.  He was actually stamped twice, once in Gumball Green and the other in Real Red.  The green greeting were cut out and popped up on the tag.

If you don’t already have this stamp set … think about it.  With each set sold – $3.00 goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  To date we have donated over $1,000,000 … because we all care.  Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share … this one really touches my heart. I have listed the ingredients for these cards along with the link to view or purchase.

I wish you a warm and wonderful day today.

More card shares …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I would like to share with you, three more cards that we made at our Star’s Christmas Party.  We did what we call a “shoebox swap” … each participant designs a card and then cuts, and brings everything needed to make that card, then everyone at the event gets to make each others cards … it’s fun!

Would you be interested in joining in on a shoebox swap?  Let me know, I’d love to host it.

I thought I would start with Connie’s card ….

101_2304

My technique groups should recognize this, we just did the “Stained Glass” technique.  Here is another wonderful card idea for you.

Connie used the “Joyful Christmas” stamp set from the Holiday Catalog (good through January 3rd) and the “Silver 1/8″ Ribbon“.  I love that Connie did her card with Silver embossing, we did ours in gold …. such a small change can make the entire card look different, and both cards are beautiful.

Next, is Ren’s card.  Ren is Connie’s daughter and has been stamping with us for quite a while.

101_2305

Don’t you just love it!  We all love a good “punch” card and this one is so cute!  Ren had all the pieces cut so we didn’t even have to cut the door … we just embossed it with the new “Stylish Stripes” embossing folder.

For the wreath, we used the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch.  The trick here is to punch out the circle first … then center the scallop punch over the circle to create the perfect wreath!  The punches along with the adorable “Glimmer Brad – Brights Collection ” are found in our main Idea Book & Catalog.

Now I’d like to share with you, Susan’s card… a Tri-fold Easel Card!

101_2311

If you’re looking to impress someone, this will do it!  This beautiful card showcases the “Modern Medley” Designer Series Paper.  Anyone who knows me, knows this is one of my favorite Designer Papers in the catalog …. I find it so versatile.

The greeting “Your Kindness means so much” comes from the stamp set “From My Heart” … also found in the main catalog.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share … I loved making these beautiful cards with these wonderful ladies.  I can’t think of a better day, than stamping with my friends.

If you are interested in any of the items listed to make these cards, you can just click on the link (words highlighted in pink) to view or purchase.

Have an awesome day!

Pretty Print Christmas Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you’re staying warm!

We’ll today is Friday the 13th … I see that as a good omen (Life is what you make it) so I plan on having a wonderful day.  I wish the same for you.

My card share today is actually a beautiful Christmas cards that I received from my friend Cindy P.   So Cindy … YOU are my guest stamper today!

I had it sitting out in my Stampin’ Studio and the ladies in my technique club just loved it, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

000_0453

Cindy used the “Pretty Print Embossing Folder” to create the front of the card.  You can find it on page 24 of the Holiday Catalog, or just click the link to view it.

She then punched out the little trees which came from the holiday petite punch trio that was in last years Holiday Catalog.  I saw it in the Clearance Rack a while back, but when I went to add the link for you, I saw that it was no longer there (Sold Out)… Sorry!

It appears the items on the clearance rack are flying off the shelves (so to speak).  I see many of you have already taken advantage of the savings … some up to 80%!  Thank you so much for choosing me as your demonstrator – US Only.

You can click HERE to view the Clearance Rack.   I have noticed while going through the clearance rack, that once you get to page 10 … just keep clicking on the > arrow – there is still more to see!

DemoHeader_ClearanceRackBlitz_DEMO_Dec10-Jan2_US_CA_UK_SP

Thank you Cindy for the beautiful card, and I hope you don’t mind that I shared it with the world.  I know they will enjoy it as much as I do.

Chalkboard Technique …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

You don’t have to live in Wisconsin these days to feel the wrath of the weather … snow, freezing rain, and below zero temperatures are hitting over half our country!  WOW …

598439_677877612234577_1627976062_n

I thought this artwork was cute and it fits in with today’s card and technique share: Chalkboard Technique

What better way to say it’s cold outside than with snowflakes.  My club members will recognize this card because it is one of the two designs they made in November, when they learned the “Chalkboard” Technique.

000_0468

Besides the black cardstock seen here, I also used Soft Sky.  I wanted something blue, but I didn’t want to over power the white and black.

I will share with you the steps it takes to create this card. I’ve been know to break down techniques to the most basic level or recreate them so they are simpler, and keeping it more fun to do!

DIRECTIONS:
1) Swipe the embossing buddy across your black cardstock to prevent stray embossing powder from sticking to unstamped areas.

2) Arrange your stamps in a desired pattern and stamp in White Craft or Versamark ink

3) Sprinkle white embossing powder over stamped areas, shake off excess and heat with embossing gun.

4) Add details (such as a border or other doodles) with chalk marker.

5) Rub embossing buddy in the corners and around sentiments to resemble chalk dust.

000_0467

My clubs not only make 2 projects using the technique they’re learning, but create a “Technique Sheet!”  They are easily stored in a 6 x 6 scrapbook so they can refer to them when they want to recreate a technique.  It is my most popular club!  My members also receive the “hostess benefits” … free stamps and accessories!

If you and 5-7 of your friends want to get together and learn techniques … I will start one for you beginning in January.  Just email me at lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

If you haven’t noticed … I want to point out that I have used the same two stamp sets that I used on yesterday’s card … the Festive Flurry and Joy to the World stamp sets.  It’s great how you get a totally different look even when using the same stamp sets!

I love showing you different ways to use your stamp sets and accessories…  it makes them more cost effective for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by … I’ll have more for you tomorrow!

Christmas Wishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Burrr!  Hope you’re staying warm.

As we begin the day with a whoppin’ 5 degrees, I hear it’s going to warm up into the 20’s … just so it can snow!  Oh well, that’s winter in Wisconsin!

Today I will share with you my final “Silver & Gold” card (we’ll at least for a little while).  I couldn’t resist, I was just having too much fun creating with these fabulous foil papers.

000_0447

My card today highlights the “snowflake” from the “Festive Flurry” stamp set found in the Holiday catalog.  Just to let you know,  the holiday catalog purchasing period ends January 2nd.

I heat embossed the snowflake with the silver embossing powder and cut it out with the coordinating “Festive Flurry” framelit dies.  I then highlighted it with the rhinestones.

I used the Ovals Collection framelits to cut out an oval to showcase the snowflake.  I also added a strip of the gold foil paper to the side, after embossing it with the “Stylish Stripes” Impressions Folder.  I accented it with the silver ribbon, just to tie bring the card together.

My greeting “Christmas Wishes” comes from the stamp set “Joy to the World” … I was really impressed with the stamps in this set and use them quite a bit on my cards.

I used Very Vanilla cardstock as my base, it created a softer and warmer effect than using the white.

000_0451

Thanks for stopping by and I will be sure to show you something other than silver and gold tomorrow.

Stay warm ~

Christmas Cheer …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Wow … It’s cold outside today!  We’ve got -4 degree windchills …. burr!

Today I want to share another Silver and Gold card, simple and pretty.  Just a few steps to create…

000_0445

I taped together (on the back) the silver and gold blocks to create the background.  I then stamped the snowflake from “Festive Flurry” and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

I embossed a separate snowflake and cut it out with the coordinating Framelits.

My “christmas cheer” greeting comes from the stamp set “Sweet Essentials”.

Now to finish off the card I added the Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine and a “Frosted Finishes Embellishment”.

Enjoy your day and stay warm …

Silver and Gold Greetings …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

OK … so how many of you did I stump with my “Stay Gold” comment or wonder who the heck Johnny and Ponyboy were?  It’s from the movie “The Outsiders” …

The Outsiders is a 1983 American drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by S. E. Hinton (taken from Wikipedia)

Outsidersposter.jpeg

The film is noted for its cast of up-and-coming stars, including C. Thomas Howell (who garnered a Young Artist Award), Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane.

Ponyboy Curtis was played by C. Thomas Howell and Johnny Cade was played by Ralph Macchio… the main characters in the film.  I like this movie and watch it whenever it’s on.  It truly launched the careers of many of it’s cast.

Today’s card share …

000_0436

Staying with the “gold” theme … I followed the same technique as yesterday, embossing the gold foil sheet but I used the “Stylish Stripes” emboss folder on today’s card.  Then I secured the beautiful “Silver 1/8″ Ribbon” along the double stripes to create a cool effect.

I promise I won’t go into the background of the holiday song … Silver and Gold sung by Burl Ives.  However, I will ask … do you know what movie that hails from???

Keeping my card simple … I just added the “Season’s Greeting” greeting from the “Joy to the World” stamp set.  Again, I heat embossed it with gold emboss powder, then backed the greeting with the Silver Foil paper.  The base of the card is Whisper White.

Many of the items used for this card are found in the Holiday catalog, and you can view by clicking on any of the “highlighted” words.

Simplicity is Golden

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

A happy Monday to you all.  Today’s card share began with a just a thought …. something simple.

So many of us have busy, busy lives, yet we still want to show how much we care by sending hand-stamped cards, right?  So here’s my simple solution ….

000_0428

I used the beautiful Gold “Foil Sheets” and simply rolled them through the Sizzix BigShot with the “Petals-a-Plenty” embossing folder.  The foil sheets are single sided and come 2 – 12 x 12 sheets for only $3.95!  You can do 12 cards with just 1 package!

The base for the card is “Very Vanilla” … and to give it that truly “Old Fashioned” look, I tied a pretty “Victorian – 5/8″ Crochet Trim” bow.  I thought it helped to tone down the gold just a bit, and maintain the beauty of the card.

The greeting “Deck the Halls” comes from the stamp set “Christmas Messages” which is found in the Holiday catalog and is ON SALE!  It was heat embossed in Gold, but if you wanted a quicker method … just stamp the greeting using the “Gold Metallic Encore Pad” found in the Holiday catalog.

000_0424

Finally, I simply punched out the greeting with the 2  1/2″ Circle punch.  I know many of you have this punch after we created our “flip cards” in class.

Remember, by clicking on any of the highlighted items, you can see what they look like.  Thank you.

Have a wonderful week …

and as Johnny said to PonyBoy … “Stay Gold”.

Sparkle with Joy …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Hope you made it through “Black Friday” … that is my day to stay home and relax and begin to decorate for the upcoming Christmas holiday season.

For my card share today, I have decided to focus on the Holiday Catalog… there are so many fabulous items in there!

The focal point of the card is the poinsettia from the “Joyful Christmas” stamp set.  Remember, when you click on the items highlighted – you will be able to view the product 🙂  I also want to let you know that “Joyful Christmas” is currently on sale too!!

I heat embossed 2 poinsettia’s in white onto vellum cardstock, and then cut them out.  They are adhered together with stampin’ dimensionals, then attached with the dimensionals to give them that “pop” on the card.

I have chosen the “Winter Frost Specialty” Designer Series Paper, I also have the paper pack, both are great additions to your Designer Paper collection.  I have used the Midnight Muse as my core color.  To accent, I used the “Silver 1/8″ Ribbon”.

I used the “Joy to the World” stamp from the “Joy to the World” Stamp set.  Because of it’s design, I chose to color it in, yet leave the rough edges.

To finish it off … I added the smallest of the rhinestones to the designer paper.  Ok … so it’s not a card you would send to 100 people (not really cost effective) but if you were looking for that special card for someone who loves “sparkle” … this is the card you were looking for!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful day with friends and / or family.

I spent the morning (and evening before) preparing for the feast!  I do love to cook though so it was very enjoyable.

I was happy 2 of my 3 daughters and their families were able to come over and spend the day together.  Two of the little girls got to help (and learn) how to make a Cherry Cheesecake Pie.  It was a good day… and it turned into a huge slumber party, watching movies and just hanging out together!

My oldest daughter  called and we all wished each other a “Happy Thanksgiving”.  I am truly blessed.

Today I want to share a cute project idea that was posted by one of Stampin’ Up!s Demonstrator Training trainers: Donna G.

Got someone in your house who just can’t wait for Christmas? Help them count down the days by making this fun project.

I loved the look of the tags on page 13 of the holiday catalog (US/CA), so I made my tags exactly the same way.

For the containers, I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. So easy—no cutting necessary!

To make the containers, apply the adhesive like this. (I recommend using Sticky Strip.)

Roll the container into a tube, then pinch one end closed. Add candy (or whatever you want to put inside), then pinch the other end closed in the opposite direction.

Attach the tag using a stapler, then adhere the button using a Glue Dot to hide the staple.

Twelve containers will fit nicely inside the Extra-Large Gift Box. To make the box look a little more festive, I wrapped Season of Style Designer Washi Tape around it.

Do you have a special way you’ll be counting down the days to Christmas?

Have an awesome day!

White Christmas …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

OK … it is officially winter here!  Snow, slippery roads, and cold … I’m ready for spring!  However, I do love Thanksgiving and Christmas so I’ll hold out for those.

My card share today is a beautiful card that we made at our Holiday Retreat this year.   I think it’s my favorite of all the cards and projects we did (I love the look and the bling).

As you can see there are many layers here, but all done in Whisper White, which gives it that special look.  We used the “Beautifully Baroque” embossing folder to create some texture.

The “silver” embossed snowflake comes from the “Festive Flurry” stamp set found in the Holiday Catalog and can also be purchased in a bundle with the coordinating framelits.  The snowflake was centered on the stunning “Silver Glimmer” Paper which in now on sale!  Click on any of the highlighted items to see what is included in that stamp set.

Our greeting “Christmas Cheer” comes from the stamp set “Sweet Essentials” found on page 41 of our catalog.  I decides to create a banner for the greeting so it would stand out more.

Quite simple and very elegant with some holiday bling, you can see why I love this card.  Hope you enjoyed it as well.

Thanks for stopping by and stay warm.
