Watercolor Thank You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I want to share with you some more patterns from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper.  Yesterday I showed you my least favorite … today I will show you two of my favorites!

I must say, I am really beginning to fall in love with this new designer paper, and I can’t wait to host an event and let you get your hands on it.  In fact, watch for an e-mail announcing my “Sale-a-bration Stampede”… I am working on the details now, and will be sending out details in about a week.

On to today’s card share, I have used 3 more patterns from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper …

000_0529

Can you tell which are my favorites?  You’re right, it is the flowered patterns.  They were both so beautiful, I wanted to share them both.  I tied the colors together by using the yellow & gray stripped pattern … the Smokey Slate (gray) is found in the blue pattern, and the yellow from the striped coordinates with the yellow & tangerine, it then tied them together perfectly.

I began with the usual 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ cardstock in Whisper White, and folded it in half for the base of my card.  The mat for the card is Smokey Slate and is cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″.  The flower pieces were cut at 3-1/4″ x 1-7/8″ and the stripped pattern was 1-1/4″ x 1-7/8″.  These will now piece together nicely on the mat… much easier to do than a puzzle.

My greeting comes from the stamp set “Lots of Thanks” found on page 29 of the Idea Book & Catalog (our main catalog).  I then cut the greeting and the Smokey Slate mat from the “Ovals Collection Framelits“.  There are 7 layer dies with this set, so they can highlight any greeting!

000_0525

I always stamp my image / greeting first, and then cut it out … that way I don’t have to worry about it being crooked, because I can always place the die where I need to.

I wanted to add a special little touch to the card, so I cut out one of the flowers from the designer paper and popped it up over the greeting.  To finish, I added a couple of “Pearls” from the jewels on page 171.  You can also click on any of the links (highlighted in pink) to view the product details.

So here you have it, some of my favorite patterns from the “Watercolor Wonder” designer series paper.

000_0528

Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to spend it with me.

Have an awesome day ~

Remembering Pearl Harbor…

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

My post today is in remembrance to those who fought and lost their lives at Pearl Harbor.  I was lucky to go to and experience Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona.

I worked hard to earn the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to Hawaii … My main goal for achieving this trip was to see the USS Arizona memorial.  I thank them for the opportunity to be able to pay my respects.

The USS Arizona Memorial, located at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawai¿i, marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors killed on the USS Arizona during the Attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 by Japanese imperial forces.

Although we had a beautiful hotel on the big Island … we took an island hopper to Oahu and headed to Pearl Harbor.  I can’t describe the feeling of being there… it is somber and humbling, I prayed for all those who were lost on that day, and for their families.

War is so tragic … but I am proud of the men and women who serve and sacrifice so much for our entire country. It is those individuals that keep us free.

God Bless all who have served in our armed services and reserves past and present.

THANK YOU!

Card Samples from the Best of 25 …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I shared some of my favorite “Best of 25 Years” stamp sets.  So today … I thought it would be fun to share some of the card samples that I have saved that highlight these stamp sets.  I will admit that some of these may or may not be my cards… they could be from swaps or photos from Stampin’ Up! events.

So here is to reminiscing  ….

Ok … the first one, “Best of Autumn” is not the exact pail of apples, but I did find one that was very similar.  If my memory serves me, this is a card that we did at a 10-4-10 card making event.5870-1432685

Best Of Autumn Clear-Mount Stamp Set

The five-piece Best of Autumn Stamp Set brings together some beautiful fall images, along with a never-before-seen “Give Thanks” stamp that makes this the perfect set for your autumn projects!

I could not find even one sample from the “Best of Birthday’s” … so I shared a fun card from “yester-year” that you could copy with any of the images here.

This card touches my heart … it comes from a set of cards that we made at a “Stamp Out Cancer” class.  With each stamp set purchased, a donation was made a cancer foundation.  So here is just one of those beautiful cards …

Did you know that every year Monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico, and that the migration might span multiple generations of butterflies?

Impressive.

I chose the “deer” to highlight the “Best of Christmas” stamp set.  He (or she) is so pretty!  We made this card at one of our Holiday 10-4-10 events.

That’s right; it’s time to start thinking about Christmas again. Lucky for you, as part of our 25-year Anniversary celebration we’ve brought back three of our favorite images from Christmas past, and created a never-before-seen image that coordinates perfectly with the Christmas Ornament Punch.

For the “Best of Greetings” I picked the “With Sympathy” … This must have been a swap card, because I do not recall doing this beautiful card at one of my events.  Kudo’s to the creator of this card –Untitled03

Sweater Weather Thank You …

Hello to all my Stampin’ Friends today,

The chill is on, on this first day of November… our high today should peak at around 47 degrees.  That may be warm for some of my followers.

My card share today is a warm “Thank You” created with the help of the “Sweater Weather” Designer Series paper.  If you click on the highlighted link … you can view the designer paper.  For those of you who follow daily, you know that I have used this designer paper quite a few times already.  Today’s actually has that “sweater” feel …

000_0346

I chose the sweater pattern paper because the color “Tangerine Tango” adds such warmth to the card.  Using the designer papers really makes creating card so easy.  The color combinations are already there and the diversity of the patterns make it fun to work with.

Since banners are so “hot” right now, and they make for a quick and easy card, I have used them today.  The espresso piece also comes from the Sweater Weather designer paper, and of course our “Burlap Ribbon” makes quite a statement!  The combination of these two products really gives the card that rustic feel … and it adds great texture.

Since I was going for the more rustic look, I wanted to add an element to the card that would also give the appearance of securing my banners (can’t just have them flying around… we want that “manly” look).  So I chose the “Candy Dots” from the Neutrals Collection … I think they look like rivets!   They are adhesive backed so you can apply them directly to your project, or … you can used them with the coordinating Candy Dots Brad Bases (sold separately) to create your own 3/16″ colored brads!

000_0345

Last but not least is our greeting… Thank You, which comes from the “Perfectly Penned” stamp set – don’t you just love it.  This was one of those stamp sets that when I opened the catalog … I just had to have.  I love the beautiful font, and have used it on so many different styles of cards.  I think it adds the perfect touch to finish off today’s card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share … stay warm, and thank you for stopping by!

Have a beautiful Friday,

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have a quick & easy card for you, showcasing the “I Am Me” Designer Series Paper … and what better way to do that, than a card with a sampling of the papers!

100_1782

The card was totally created using multiple circle punches … can’t get much easier than that!  Simply punch out different sized circles from your designer series paper and adhere them to your card front.  I used Basic Gray … however, it appears (at least on my computer) as navy… ?

I layered my card, so I could run the piece with the circles through the Bigshot to give it even more texture!

100_1780

The greeting comes from the stamp set “Lots of Thanks” (W- 129687 / C – 129690) and is stamped in basic gray.

Today’s quick and easy card … comes with a quick and easy post.

Enjoy your day!

Thanks for stopping by.

Magnificent Maple Thank you …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am super excited to share with you my first creation form the new Holiday catalog!  Did you get yours?  If not, contact me by e-mail (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) and I will be sure to get you one.

How do you like the new layout?  I love that Stampin’ Up! put so many samples in there for us!!  It’s a bit of a teaser, showing us all those samples, and then the stamp sets.  How fun is that!

Today I will be using the “Magnificent Maple” (131868 – wood only) stamp found on page 18 of the Holiday catalog.  It’s part of a bundle that I received for free.  Stampin’ Up! has different ways their demonstrators can earn free product, to help keep our cost of doing business down.  I love that!  If you’ve ever thought of doing what I do, let’s talk.  Now when you become a member of my team, you have a choice of a free bundle for yourself.  CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Now onto the card … I began with the beautiful “Sweater Weather” (132184) Designer Series paper.  This made my color choices easy.  If you look on the back of the package of your Designer Series paper … Stampin’ Up! has put a list of the colors!  So, from the colors listed, I chose Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango.

100_1733

I wanted to stay true to the colors on the paper pack and that is why I chose the Whisper White to stamp on.  I toned it down a bit and created some dimension by gently sponging the edges in Tangerine Tango.

For added texture and to get that fall feeling, I used the new “Burlap Ribbon” (132140).  It also highlights the the leaf and sets it off the page.  I think I’m going to be using this unique ribbon quite a bit.  Works great for masculine cards too!

To create the multi-colored leaf … I inked up the stamp with Crushed Curry, then with sponge daubers, I added the Tangerine Tango and then Rich Razzleberry to the very tips.

100_1727     100_1730

To decorate the inside, I just used the scrap piece of designer paper from cutting the front piece, then “huffed” on the stamp to re-stamp the inside.  We stampers let nothing to waste… not even a little ink on a stamp! lol

To finish off the card, I stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip.  The “Thank You” comes from the stamp set “Perfectly Penned” ( 128703 – Wood / 122892 – Clear).  This stamp set is one of my “go to” sets, I love the font and find it goes with many different styles of cards.

100_1733

I hope you enjoyed a look into the new catalog.  I have so much more to show you, so be sure to stop by… or better yet, join us for one of my fun stamping events!

Thank you …

Hello and Happy Friday!

Since I have taken you through my appreciation party the past few days, I find it only fitting that you get to see what I have been creating since the party… and what better card than a “Thank you”!

There are so many new stamp sets that I fell in love with in this catalog, but the one I find that I have used the most is the “Million & One”.  The font is totally me – I love it, and I think it goes so well with the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.  Each of the patterns shown are included…  (2 each of 6 double sided sheets / 12 patterns in all!).

101_1420

Item Number Description page # Price
126375 Wood Million & One 63 16.95
126377 Clear Million & One 63 12.95
126926 Modern Medley Designer Series Paper 154 10.95
120906 2-1/2″ Circle Punch (card 1) 182 16.95
119868 1″ Circle Punch  (card 1) 182 12.95
119246 Basic Rhinestones (card 1) 171 4.95
117335 Perfect Polka Dot Folder (Inside of both cards) 191 7.95
119247 Basic Pearls (card 2) 171 7.95

Here I used the same stamp set and designer series paper, but did it in rectangles.  It’s amazing how such a slight change can make the cards look different.  I added pearls to this card instead of the rhinestones like the first card.  Both cards have a strip embossed on the inside using the “Perfect Polka Dot” emboss folder… I thought it added a fun touch to the cards.

101_1422

My last card … I kept the same layout, but changed the designer paper.  I used the “Gingham Garden”.  Wow…  What a difference.  This one reminds me of my grandma – she loved flowers, those colors, and the butterflies are for my Mom.

New Stamp Set Parade … Day 4

Hello Stampers ~

It’s finally Friday … and my last day at Frabill.  For those of you who have not heard yet, the company was sold and moved to Illinois.  I chose to build my Stampin’ Up! business.

Today is our fourth installment of our new card parade, and it has a bit of a twist!  A fun and easy technique for you too … White Washing!

Begin with the “Natural Composition Specialty” paper and the Craft White Ink Pad … and a sponge or sponge dauber.  Ink up the sponge with the white craft ink and rub it all over the “Naturals Composition” paper.  Let set for a bit, then with a paper towel, whip the excess ink off the pre-embossed paper… it really makes the pattern on the paper “pop”.

On that note … our card today has a “masculine” look!

Today’s featured stamp set is: CHALK TALK

101_1336

It’s this technique cool?!  It’s quick and easy, and a bit “manly”.  I saw them doing this technique to antiqued furniture on all those home design shows.  I also saw them do this to update the look of a fireplace!

I thought the “White Wash” technique would go good with a stamp set called “Chalk Talk!”  I also wanted to give it a different flare by using a softer color .  I “aged” the tag a bit by sponging the edges and crumpling (is that a word?) up the cardstock.

I finished the card off by adding the additional hearts … because when your thanking your man, you want to add a little heart

Here is a complete list of supplies:

Polka Dot -n- Flower Shop Parade …

Hello Stampers!

Welcome to a brand new week.

We have officially entered the summer season so what better to celebrate than a parade!  This week I will be posting a “parade” of new stamp sets that I will be featuring at my upcoming Hostess / Customer Appreciation Party!

Each day will feature a new stamp set … keep a list as I will be hosting a “Guess my favorite new stamp set” challenge at the party.  If you are interested in attending … leave a comment or message me!

Today’s featured stamp set is … FLOWER SHOP

101_1309

Along with the Flower Shop stamp set, I used the new “Million & One” stamp set – stamped in Old Olive.  I love the font on this set, it is so beautiful.

The flower was stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed with the Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.  It is slightly darker than the Pumpkin Pie Polka Dot Parade Designer Series paper I used, but still looks good.

And if you’re going to give someone a card that says “A Million & One Thanks” … don’t you agree, it needs some bling!  I not only used the Rhinestones, but added a little more sparkle to the flower by using Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!

Here is a list of the items used today:

STAMP SETS:

Flower Shop (W- 130939 / C-130942)

Million & One (W-126375 / C-126377)

CARDSTOCKS & PAPER:

Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (126902)

Very Vanilla Carstock (101650) 8-1/2″ x 11 Neutrals Collection

Old Olive Cardstock (100702) 8-1/2″ x 11 Brights Collection

FUN SUPPLIES:

Pansy Punch (130698) Coordinates with the Flower Shop stamp set

Rhinestone Basic Jewels ( 119246)

Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (102023)

I am honored to have you all as my stampin’ friends, without you this would not be possible.

A Million Thanks …

Happy Friday Stampers!

The weekend is finally approaching!

As promised, the card I made for you today highlights 2 of our new colors.  First, the “Crisp Cantaloupe” from the new In-Colors and the “Smoky Slate”.  I really like this color, and it’s going to go with a lot of colors.

I’m going to do something a little different … I’m going to show you some great new products out of the catalog first and then lead you into the card!

Let me introduce you to one of the pretty flowers (there are 6) in the “Flower Shop” stamp set found on page 94 of the catalog.  I stamped this in the Smoky Slate … then punched it with the coordinating punch “Pansy” (130698).  I love it when our stamp sets have coordinating punches, makes life so much easier!

101_1269

Next … “WASHI TAPE”!  Man is this stuff fun to play with!  this is the Epic Day This & That Designer Washi Tape (131269)  I used the “gray” to coordinate with my card, but there are 2 other rolls that come with it.  Then I topped the flower and washi tape off with our Basic Pearls (119247).

Here’s just a little shot of the inside of my card … stamp it a couple times and add a strip of washi tape.  I have begun stamping inside of my card, just because everyone opens them up to see what’s inside (even if you’re only showing a sample!) I love it!

OK … now the card!

With our yummy “Crisp Cantaloupe” and the “Smoky Slate”.

Don’t you think they look good together!

A Million and one Thanks for taking this stampin’ journey with me!  You will find the “Million & One” stamp set on page 161.  I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it.

Maybe I’ll make the next card with the other stamp in that set … “Fabulous is what you are” and I believe it!

Have a great weekend ~

So Kind of You …

Hello Stampers ~

Today I am sharing a simply beautiful card created with the “By the Tide” stamp set from the Spring Catalog.

shell card

I am excited to say that this versatile stamp set will carry over into the NEW 2013-14 Idea Book and Catalog!

I love to layer white on white, it sets up the card with a great foundation.  Don’t forget to give the first layer of white a “lift” by using stampin’ dimensionals… they are definitely a necessity in any stampin’ kit!

The combination of a simple greeting “so kind of you” from the “Sweet Essentials” stamp set with the single shell from the “By the Tide” stamp set created this beautiful card.

The addition of texture to the card using the “Houndstooth Folder” really sets off the accent of the Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.  As you can see, I only partially embossed the card to create a more dramatic effect.

Every now and then we all look for an easy to make, yet beautiful card.  I hope this fulfilled that need for you.

If you enjoyed this card, please leave a comment.  I’d love to hear from you!

Happy Stampin’
