Oh No … Our favorite Designer Paper is Retiring!

Oh my, it’s always hard to say goodbye to awesome products, but the True Love Designer Paper has been a staple in my stamping supplies for the past 6 months. Today I’m going to share all the different ways we have used the True Love Designer Series paper!

Let’s begin with a simple background ….

These beautiful papers in Black & White lend themselves to be used with many other techniques … it allows them to shine.

Here’s one you may have forgot about; Using Scraps to Create a beautiful card. This super simple technique creates a fun pattern …. and a great way for you to use up your scraps! All you need to do is add a greeting! I embellished it with a daisy and added some ribbon for a touch of texture!

The next up is the soft and pretty effect you get when you use your blending brushes to color the black and white images. I did add a little color from my Stampin’ Blends for the leaves, but I love how the brushed on color “goes out of the lines” to create a beautiful softness to the True Love Designer Paper.

If you prefer the “clean” look … I have the pattern colored strickly with the Stampin’ Blend Markers. Same pattern … Same color … I just wanted to show how different these two techniques look on your designer paper.

One of my favorites, and not something we normally don’t think to do: COLOR THE BACKGROUND. I was amazed the first time I saw someone do this technique … who would have thought!? I’m just glad they did, and shared it. Coloring the background just really made our pretty flowers pop off the page.

I have some fun with this one! Not only did I color the back ground, I did the flowers as well. This time though, I used my “Sponge Daubers” to add color to my flowers. They are smaller that the brush heads so you can get a little more precise with your ink placement. Both techniques add soft color your paper.

One of my favorite techniques to do on “any” black & white designer paper is to create an Ombre effect, shown below. I love all the options you have when working with a designer paper in Black and White … and your color pallet is limitless!! You can create “any” color designer paper now … and it’s FUN!!

I know there are more techniques we can do … how about a soft watercoloring, or bring out your Watercolor Pencils and Blender pen!! The possibilities are endless. The True Love Designer Paper “IS” on the Retiring List … so if you like it, don’t wait … it here only while supplies last.

Simply Sunday … Shimmer Vellum

Hello Stampin’ Friends!!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend, it’s a HOT one!! lol I’m busy cleaning, organizing, and getting some stamping in too! Today I’d like to share a card with you that I made during my Facebook LIVE last week so some of you may have seen it, but I’ve got a close up for you!!

I was showing different ways to use the NEW Shimmer Vellum, so today I will show you one of the simplest ways … just punch it! It’s the perfect way to embellish a beautiful designer paper such as the Expressions in Ink. Take a look ….

Is this a stunner or what!? This is why I love Stampin’ Up! products … it’s all about the coordination! We start with the Polished Pink card base and then I chose the Expressions In Ink Designer Paper that highlights the Polished Pink color with that amazing watercolor effect and laced with gold!!

I added a gold mat behind the designer paper to really enhance the gold ripples throughout the designer paper. I punched out my Polished Pink Vellum flowers using the Medium Daisy Punch, but I wasn’t done yet ….

I added a few embellishments from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack … more coordination! and by positioning my daisies slightly over the frame, it all ties together perfectly. This close up shows the true shimmer of our vellum, and how these products go together perfectly.

I dazzled my daisies with the NEW In-Color Jewels … but, instead of using the Polished Pink, I chose the Pale Papaya! They pick up the pink from the vellum and have a hint of gold … Perfect! I love the way they look.

This card was so fun and easy to make, but it’s a stunner and your friends are going to love it. And just think, the Expressions in Ink Designer paper have “more” of our In-Colors so it will coordinate with more of our Shimmer Vellum and In-Color Jewels … you can’t go wrong!!

I’m highlighting the “Lots of Heart” Bundle that is found on page found on page 15 of the January–June 2021 Mini Catalog. The first time I saw this bundle, I knew I had to have it! The sweet sentiments and patterned hearts caught my eye, but the coordinating dies elevated it to a new level … simply … awesome! Just look at the cluster of flowers, it’s actually a heart!!

This first card combines the the adorable checkered heart with the ruffled edge die … it’s so pretty and reminds me of a summer day. The little bird, also included in the dies adds the finishing touch to this card.

The next card is bright and colorful and ready to cheer up anyone who receives it! The background was created simply with our blender pens and creates the perfect backdrop to the whimsical hearts … I just love the polka dots ❤ The Basic White die cut hearts add a playful touch and creates a softness to the card.

Memorial Day …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the United States military…a somber but important day each year.  Today’s card is created with Painted Poppies.

The reason poppies are used to remember those who have given their lives in battle is because they are the flowers which grew on the battlefields after World War One ended. This is described in the famous World War One poem In Flanders Fields.  Today, it remains an iconic symbol of honor for the sacrifice of our veterans.

Thank you for taking time out of this day to stop by and view my post. These poppies are beautiful and the thoughts behind them can range from sympathy to joy … aren’t flowers amazing?

Merry & Bright in Polished Pink!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m doing a twist on my Simply Sunday today … a simple card to start and then I will gradually add some elements to lift the card to another level. Let’s begin with a little “fun” …. What do you get when you cross the Tidings of Christmas with the Expressions in Ink? A totally non-traditional Christmas card … in “PINK”!!

I began with the stunning Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper in the new Polished Pink that is beautifully entwined with gold foils, so naturally I would use a Gold Foil mat and a Polished Pink card base.

I stamped the greeting in VersaMark and heat embossed it with the Gold Embossing Powder. My greeting comes from the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set. We could leave this card simply as is but, check this out ….

Before I attached the Gold Foil card base, I die cut some of those pretty little starts from the Tidings & Trimmings bundle!! This ads such and elegant touch to our beautiful Expressions in Ink Designer paper.

We went from a simply beautiful non-traditional “PINK” Christmas card to one that is simply stunning! Don’t forget to use the leftover pieces of designer paper to deck out the inside of your card.

Tidings of Christmas in Misty Moonlight

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Let the weekend officially begin … How did you enjoy the Tidings of Christmas card that I shared yesterday? Yes? Well … I have another for card for you using this suite and where I’m going to showcase the dies from the suite; the stockings and some greenery …

I love the way this card turned out!! I chose this pattern designer paper from the suite and worked my color pallet from that … Sahara Sand, Misty Moonlight and Soft Succulent. The base is Misty Moonlight, then the background designer paper, the center piece is Sahara Sand.

I stamped the greeting in Misty Moonlight on the Sahara Sand. Then I stamped the stockings in the Misty Moonlight on Misty Moonlight then die cut them The white tops were cut using the top of the stocking die as there is “no” separate die for that.

The greenery was die cut from Soft Succulent cardstock and adds such a beautiful touch to the card. The stamp set and dies can be purchased as a bundle, as well as the entire suite ….

The stamped stockings have the same patterns in their design as in the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series paper…. and so do the dies, and that is why they call it a suite. All the products were created to coordinate perfectly!

I couldn’t resist added the new 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems … they are Misty Moonlight!! Plus they add a nice finishing touch to the card. You can find these cute gems on page 142.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

Today … with a chill in the air, I thought it was the perfect time to share a card that I created using the wonderful Tidings of Christmas. I know many of you start your Christmas cardmaking early, so I thought I’d give you a peek into what I’ve been creating with this suite …. the suite includes …

I start out on the “simple” side and will have so much more to share with you! Here is one of the cards I created ….

I used the pretty Tidings of Christmas Designer Series paper as my backdrop … the pretty papers remind me of Christmas’ past but have an elegant modern touch to them.

I teamed up my Tidings of Christmas with the “Elegant Tag” Punch. This amazing punch is fun and easy to work with, and you can create an multitude of options!! Here is just one …

I lengthened the punched paper to fit my greeting … you simple punch from the backside. Maybe I’ll create a short video to show you how, along with a tip to make it effortlessly!

Behind the punched greeting which of course is from our Tidings & Trimmings Bundle I added a touch of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the beautiful Evening Evergreen Chevron Weave Ribbon.

I used the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels just to add a little around the greeting You can find these cute gems on page 142. It also seems to anchor the tag and highlight the beautiful ribbon.

Expression In Ink: Thank You Card

Today I’d like to share more about Expressions in Ink … you saw a sweet -n- simple card that I made yesterday.

The Annual Catalog Inspiration EXPRESSIONS IN INK SUITE The Expressions in Ink suite is so gorgeous that it has a well-deserved place on the front cover of the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. This suite combines the abstract beauty, fluid design, and bold colors of alcohol inks and watercolor, without any of the mess! The gold embellishments and accents add the perfect touch of elegance to this artistically inspired suite. The card tutorial below features heat embossing, paper-piecing, and layer upon layer of texture and detail. It’s a great way to combine the watercolor images with the coordinating, but not matching, detailed die cuts. Just imagine all the colors you could re-create this project in for occasions like birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. Have a beautiful day ~

Expressions in Ink: You’re Amazing

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a card that I created using the amazing “Expressions In Ink” Designer Series Paper. Many of the papers have ribbons of gold foiling running through the beautiful jewel tone colors like Evening Evergreen, Jade, Magenta Madness, and Pale Papaya….

During my LIVE demonstrations this weekend, I showed my attendee’s how simple it was to cut these designer papers to maximize it’s beauty and have NO waste! Here is one of the cards I created ….

The beautiful water color design add such a natural look … as if I created it myself! Luckily it was done for me and I had no mess to deal with!!

I teamed up my Expressions in Ink Designer Paper with the “Creating with Friends” stamp set. This stamp set is fun and easy to work with, and you can create an multitude of options …

Don’t you just love all of the different options for greeting you can create with this stamp set? I kept it simple by just saying … “You’re Amazing” and I stamped it in the Polished Pink and Pale Papaya ink.

Using the Medium Daisy Punch, I added the flower, however, as Kathie D. commented during the demonstration … it was pretty even before we added the daisy!! The center was punched from a piece of scrap out of the same paper.

I used the Pale Papaya faceted glitter gems from the Genial Gems that were introduced in our new Annual Catalog to add some texture and a pop of glitz around the greeting You can find these cute gems on page 142.

Celebrate Today

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I hope you had a wonderful weekend, mine was full of fun and stamping. The Launch party may be over but I think I’ll be carrying over some of the fun games and stuff on my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page … I don’t want the fun to end!!

Today, I’d like to share another card created with the Hand-Penned Memories and More card pack, but unlike yesterday I will not be using the Card & Envelopes but a card base from my cardstock stash. My card base is the New Pale Papaya ….

I added a strip of Basic White embossed with the Greenery Embossing Folder, this gives our card some nice texture. Upon the white accent I added one of the smaller cards which has such a pretty floral pattern …

The greeting also comes from our Memories & More Card Kit … it is a die cut adhesive with the greeting already printed on it. Let’s talk about making pretty cards … pretty quick!!

I couldn’t resist adding some In-Color Rhinestones (unfortunately they are not orderable at this time) but if you have patience … you will fall in love with these new colors.

Today I would like to share just one of the cards that I created using the Hand-Penned family of products; the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Kit and the Hand-Penned Cards & Envelopes … this pair is perfect for making your cards quick & easy! Let’s begin with the Cards & Envelopes …

The Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Kit Isn’t just for scrapbooking, use the cards to create quick & easy cards that are simply beautiful!

You will find beautiful “cards” that can be slipped into the pockets of your Memory Book along with 4 sheets of die cut stickers that embellish your scrapbook or cards so sweetly … I love the soft pastel colors, and the coordinate with the Hand-Penned suite so the possibilities for creating are endless.

I chose one of the larger cards that works great with the cards & envelopes, and then I simply trimmed away the outside to highlight the shape, greeting and flower! All that was already there!! I just trimmed and popped it onto the card front …

The card front is the pre-pattern polka-dots card and is already scored for you… and check out the coordinating envelope! The only other thing I did on this card was give my flowers a touch of the Wink of Stella …

When using these two products combined, you have so many options for creating pretty yet simple cards.
