Happy Birthday Friend …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

How are you this fine Thursday?  My wish for you is a marvelous day!

Today I am going to share with you, a birthday card that I made for a dear friend of mine who’s birthday is on Friday.  We have been friends since the 5th grade (and that’s all I’m going to say about that) lol.

000_0155

My technique today is triple time.   Simply layer your 3 light colored cardstock together when stamping, then separate and mat.  I just love this technique, it’s easy and looks cool.

I have used the “Secret Garden” stamp set with the Crushed Curry ink.  When using the new ink pads … you can emboss, which I did with the clear embossing powder.   Then I colored the centers in with the Chocolate Chip marker.  I wanted to give my card a fall flair.

To continue with the fall theme, I choose to use the “Burlap Ribbon” … however in a very different way.  I cut the surged edge off and then pulled it apart.  The strings from the burlap ribbon add even more texture because it kinked.   I’ve seen this done before and always wanted to try it … what was I waiting for!

Here are the ingredients for today’s card …  the item numbers are linked to my on-line store.  You will be able to see a picture and a description of the product, just by clicking on it.

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Friday Stampin’ Friends!

Since many of us are so happy to see Friday come, I thought it only appropriate that we celebrate!  So today’s card share is a cute birthday card.

My color pallet for the card was chosen from the colors in the “Birthday Basics” Designer Series paper.  The colors I highlighted were Island Indigo and Raspberry Ripple (sounds like a wine from the 70’s – lol) .  The Raspberry Ripple is in the 2012 – 14 In-Color Collection.

000_0117

I wanted to add a little sparkle for our celebration so a chose a strip of “Silver Glimmer Paper”. STAMPIN’ TIP:  The “Snail adhesive” we usually use for our cards does not work on the back of the glimmer paper, so I suggest using “Sticky Strip”.  That is truly a must have in any stampers kit.  It is the only adhesive I use when creating 3-D projects.

The birthday greeting comes from the stamp set: Label Love.  You will however have to color in the words with a marker to eliminate the border on the stamp.

Remember the stampin’ tip I gave you the other day … Color with the side of your markers, and not directly with the tip.  It will save the tips of your markers and they will last a long time.

000_0112

I couldn’t seem to find my 1-3/8″ Circle punch so I used the Circle Collections frame-lits to add the Raspberry Ripple circle as a “pop” of color.  I was so excited when they introduced the Circle, Ovals and Square Collections of Frame-lits.  I think they are so versatile!  I guess I will just have to show you what I mean… by posting some awesome projects using these items!

000_0116

Now, if you would like to make this card a bit more masculine, you could swap out the “glimmer paper” for another color – then emboss it with your favorite emboss folder to add some dimension.  Then I would use another circle punch instead of the scallop … I think that would work nicely.

Here is a listing of the products used and the links for easy access.

Get your motor running ….

Head out on the highway!

Happy Friday stampers … Hope you are all ready for an awesome weekend.

It is suppose to be a beautiful weekend here in Wisconsin … warm and sunny.  I’ll be in a meeting on Saturday and creating cards for my upcoming classes on Sunday, but I’ll have my windows open!  Sounds like a win – win for me.

For those of you heading out … I got the bike for you!  I could say this is a “MAN” card but I have some of my girl friends who ride too.  They don’t hop on the back of their husbands Harley – they ride their own.  So here’s to all my friends who ride… just be careful!

000_0061

Notice that the stamping is not straight … that was actually planned (lol).  I just hope you don’t mind that my bike can drive over oceans!  The fun Designer Series paper I’m using is from “I Am Me” (130138) found on page 151 of the big catalog.  That is actually some very versatile paper… great for scrapbooks if your traveling, I love the diagonal lines, and who doesn’t love polka dots!  Check it out.

The stamp set I used is “Rev Up the Fun!” (Wood – 130520 / Clear – 130523) and is found on page 51 of the big catalog.  It is so cute and fun to use.   Great car for the race fan in your family, or gear head (do they still call them that?)  You know … guys who love cars!

130523L

If you haven’t noticed the glare … that is coming from the “Foil Sheets” (132178 – Silver / 132622 – Gold) found on page 28 of the Holiday Catalog.  I wanted to replicate “chrome” and I love the way it turned out.  So, just because you find something in the Holiday catalog … doesn’t mean you have to use it for just your holiday stamping.  You want to find as many uses for your stampin’ supplies as possible, so I’m happy to share this tip.

000_0066

So I hope you enjoyed the ride today!  Be safe.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Christmas Card Class Sneek Peek!

Hello Stampin’ Friends!

Well August 1st marked my 2 month anniversary of my blog… so, I checked my stat’s page and was amazed at what I saw!  I was not surprised to see the majority of my views were found in the US, but was pleased to see that my blog also reached Australia, Canada and New Zealand!  With much anticipation to see what was next, I clicked on the “overall” button, and to my amazement I had reached: China, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Serbia, Japan, Mauritius, United Kingdom, Guam and Hungary!

Stampin’ friends …. I am honored and so grateful that you have enjoyed one or more of my posts.  I look forward to sharing more wonderful cards, scrapbook pages, and stampin’ tips with you.  Thank you so much … and please keep sharing my blog with your friends.  This is so much fun to be part of a world-wide stampin’ community!

Today, I’m sharing a simple but pretty card that is part of a card class I will be doing.  The class is centered around the “Season of Style Designer Series Paper Pack and the “Joy to the World” stamp set.

000_0037

So you my friends get a “Sneak Peek”.  I am in the process of writing up the instructions / layouts for my downline so they cans share with their stampin’ groups too.

I will follow up with an e-mail to my club members and anyone else interested in this class.  Just put your e-mail address in the comment box and I will get in touch with you!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Ho… Ho… Ho… the Holiday Catalog is HERE!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today the Holiday Catalog is finally here to purchase from.   If you have a big “Wish List” consider hosting a workshop, and I will help you get some of those items for free!

If your looking for ideas for your Christmas cards, I’ll be hosting the “Christmas in July… Opps August Stamp Camp”.  You’ll make 10 cards that include envelopes for you to stamp.  Save the Date: Monday, August 26th!  Details will be coming to you via e-mail.  If I don’t have your e-mail address, please send it to me @ lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

So, you’ve seen a sneak peek of the Holiday Catalog with the fall and halloween cards the past few days, so what’s next, but the big guy!

000_0030

Trust me when I say … It didn’t take much to put this card together.  If you’re looking for a quick way to make cards, you will want the “Season of Style” Designer Series Paper pack (132181) on page 22 of the Holiday catalog.  There are 48 sheets / 24 of each – double sided.  Just trim the sheet to 4 x 5-1/4″ for the background, and you’ll have nice size left overs to add inside your card or decorate to coordinate the envelope!

Our sweet little Santa comes from the stamp set “Santa’s List”.  (Wood – 131808 / Clear – 131811).  Although you could use the coordinating word stamps that are included in this set … I used the Naughty or Nice from the “Very Merry Tags” stamp set (Wood – 130393 / Clear – 130402).   The Very Merry Tags should definitely be on your wish list … it is too cute and truly says it all!  Hmmm …. I think I’ll run back down into my stampin’ studio and stamp the ” I ♥ Santa” image onto the back of my card!

You can shop anytime by clicking on the “Shop Now” link above or you can contact me… I’m here to help.  The additional products used to create this card were the Decorative Label Punch (120907) and the 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon (126848) Gumball Green.  Cardstock colors are: Whisper White / Cherry Cobbler / and Gumball Green.

By the way … What color are Santa’s gloves???  Red??  White?? Black??  What do you think?

Enjoy your day ~

Congratulations …

Hello Stampers …

Wow… can’t believe it’s Friday already.  I hope you have the day off for holiday.

Update on Mom … everything is stabilized and she will be coming home today.  Thank you so much for the prayers and well wishes – I really appreciate your concern, it’s so sweet of you, and you really cheered Mom up.

Today I am sharing another card I made using the RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities) 2013-14 exclusive stamp set “TAG IT”.  Oh my gosh, this set is so cute… so I’ll be sure to post more for you.

The “TAG IT” stamp set coordinated with the Chalk Talk Framelit dies, adding a nice touch to this set.

101_1379

I went a bit bold with my color pallet today, I figure that if your sending out congratulations, you may as well say it loud, and say it proud!  Maybe these are someones school colors!!

The trophy was heat embossing with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and the new Daffodil Delight ink pad (no need for an additional ink pad anymore)!

The background was embossed with the Big Shot and stripe folder.  I also used the Simply Stars stamp set that I used on yesterday’s holiday card!!

The Daffodil embellishments on the bottom of the card are the “new” Candy Dots … aren’t they cute!  I just love them.

A time for Celebration …

Hello Stampers …

Happy 4th of July!  Hope you are enjoying this beautiful day.

My apologies for the lateness of the post … I spent most of yesterday at the hospital with my Mom.  She was admitted for an irregular heart beat and blood pressure.  They got the blood pressure stabilized but not the heart beat.  I will be going back up today, and will keep you posted.

In honor of the July 4th celebrations… I have created a quick -n- easy card for you!101_1374

I used the new stamp set “Simply Stars”.  I love stars, I find them so versatile – they are great for almost any occasion.   I stamped them with the White Craft Ink and then embossed them… it was done on a single sheet of cardstock and then cut into the three pieces.

130892L

The reflection of the star was created by stamping it directly onto the cardstock in Real Red Ink and then stamping and cutting out the Navy star … I popped it up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is a complete list of supplies:

I cased (Copy And Share Everything) this card from a fellow demonstrator: Michele Reynolds, and then added my own twist to it.  It was cute and quick and easy to make … just what my stampers want!  Thanks Michele for the inspiration.

New Stamp Set Parade … Day 4

Hello Stampers ~

It’s finally Friday … and my last day at Frabill.  For those of you who have not heard yet, the company was sold and moved to Illinois.  I chose to build my Stampin’ Up! business.

Today is our fourth installment of our new card parade, and it has a bit of a twist!  A fun and easy technique for you too … White Washing!

Begin with the “Natural Composition Specialty” paper and the Craft White Ink Pad … and a sponge or sponge dauber.  Ink up the sponge with the white craft ink and rub it all over the “Naturals Composition” paper.  Let set for a bit, then with a paper towel, whip the excess ink off the pre-embossed paper… it really makes the pattern on the paper “pop”.

On that note … our card today has a “masculine” look!

Today’s featured stamp set is: CHALK TALK

101_1336

It’s this technique cool?!  It’s quick and easy, and a bit “manly”.  I saw them doing this technique to antiqued furniture on all those home design shows.  I also saw them do this to update the look of a fireplace!

I thought the “White Wash” technique would go good with a stamp set called “Chalk Talk!”  I also wanted to give it a different flare by using a softer color .  I “aged” the tag a bit by sponging the edges and crumpling (is that a word?) up the cardstock.

I finished the card off by adding the additional hearts … because when your thanking your man, you want to add a little heart

Here is a complete list of supplies:

Stamp Set: CHALK TALK (W-130631 / C-130634)

Chalk Talk Frame Lits (129983) Coordinates with 3 stamp sets!

SAVE 15% WHEN YOU BUNDLE… the stamp set & punch (W-132731 / C-132730)

New Stamp Set Parade … Day 3

Hello Stampers!

It’s back to the New Stamp set parade!

You have already seen cards made with the “Flower Shop and Six Sided Sampler stamp sets…  Today, I will introduce the third in my series of seven that I am showcasing!

If you are one of my club members or have hosted a stampin’ party with me… you have seen this stamp set!  You got it … It was your Hostess Appreciation Invitation!

Today’s featured stamp set is: MOSAIC MADNESS

101_1326

I created this card with the specialty “Quarterfancy” Designer Series Paper.  The “paper”  I used is actually a “printed window sheet” … how cool is that!  It is the white pattern over the Island Indigo cardstock!  So you could have this print in any color you want, just change the cardstock behind it.

I ran the center flag through the Bigshot using the  Mosaic folder to add some texture, then each of the stamped images were punched out.

I have seen so many beautiful samples made with this stamp set, it truly is a “must have”  When you purchase it … don’t forget to bundle so you can save 15% off the set and punch.

Here is a complete list of supplies:

Today’s featured stamp set is: SIX-SIDES SAMPLER

101_1321

Birthday Postage…

Hello Stampers ~

Yikes … I’m getting behind in my blogging duties!  lol

I’m a little excited about today’s post – I’ve been wanting to use the “Postage Due” stamp set for a long time.  Last night I finally sat down and began stamping.  Wow, how easy it was to make this card, all the collage work is done for you!

I decided to do a simple “Sponging” Technique using a of couple of colors and see what happened … I used “Pool Party” and “Wisteria Wonder”.  I was pleased with how nice they look together, and fit well with this design.

101_1298

I just stamped the “Postage Due” image onto Whisper White with the Black StazOn and the began to sponge.  I started with the Pool Party, leaving the center white, and then added the Wisteria.  I also added some color to my punched additions using the sponges.

It’s hard to see from the photo, but I stamped the background using VersaMark.

Here is a list of supplies I used to create this card:

STAMP SETS:

Postage Due (W-128562 / C-126397)

Laughter is the shortest distance …

Hello Stampers ~

I have another “Quick -n- Easy” card for you today.  This “Postage Stamp Technique or Layout” was a big hit with my club members this year.

Why?  Because you can create so many different looks, just by switching out designer papers, add some cardstock instead of the designer paper … run some of that cardstock through the BigShot … or stamp on it!

We embellished it, stamped it, punched it … you can do anything!  It’s so much fun.

On this card we just stuck to the designer series paper… punched it… arranged it … and added a verse!

My apologies,  as the Designer Brad used on this card is no longer available, but you could substitute it with any of the fabulous buttons on pages 168 and 169.

I’ll be posting more samples with this layout in the future … so keep your eye out.  I would love to hear you idea for this card.

Have a great day ~
