Simply Sunday: Sweet Season

Hello Stampin’ Friends & a Happy Sunday to you!

A quick post for you today, but it’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, because our card was created using the “Candy Cane Lane” product suite!

You will need the “Candy Cane Lane” Designer Series paper, the “Candy Cane Christmas” stamp set and the beautiful “Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge” Ribbon. Just so you have everything handy … also grab your “Triple Banner Punch”, Whisper White and Early Espresso Cardstock, Real Red ink pad and your Dazzling Diamonds Glitter! Now we’re ready …

000_3701

As you can see, the base of our card is Early Espresso as is our 1″ banner. This color not only coordinates with the designer paper, but made our house really “pop”. The banner on the opposite side, balances your card nicely.

The background reminding me of a snowy day (even though it was crumb cake) We are in the land of Gingerbread houses so I guess anything goes! lol

Speaking of houses, our cute little gingerbread house was cute directly from one of the “Candy Cane Lane” Designer Series paper sheets! All we did was add a little glitter! The “Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge” Ribbon was added to anchor the house and add a pop of color to the card.  The house was then mounted with our Stampin’ Dimensionals.

000_3701-house-only

Only thing left to complete the card was the greeting from the “Candy Cane Christmas” stamp set, and I truly with you a Sweet Season!

Thank you for taking time our of your Sunday to visit, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Better yet, have a sweet day ~

Top 3 Picks …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you had a nice and relaxing holiday weekend… I can’t believe that today is Wednesday already! This past weekend, I spent some time on Pinterest looking for some inspiration and when I went on to my page I was stunned to see the amount of pins some of my cards have received … totally flattering.

Now, that is not why I was interested … I want to see what YOU like. I love to share my cards and projects with you, but I want to be sure I create stuff that interests and inspired you. I love hearing your comments, and I appreciate the feedback. I really want you to get the most out of the products that you purchase from me, and to have a fun experience stamping and scrapbooking.

Today, I thought I would share the top 3 pins from my Pinterest Page …

No surprise that “Silent Night” was number 1 with 8.2k pins. This is one of my favorites too, and pretty simple to make!

000_2568Best thing … many of you have these products already, and if not, some are still available in the catalog. Use the “Lovely as a Tree” … and Mellow Moss maybe gone, but “Garden Green” or “Always Artichoke” would work just as beautifully.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW ORIGINAL POST

The second pinned card is my “Bloom with Hope” card with 6.5k pins. This card also showcased the technique of coloring with our Blender Pens. CLICK HERE TO VIEW ORIGINAL POST

000_1195

The third most pinned card is my “Hello Sweet Friend” … also one of my favorites.  This simple card showcased the hexagon punch and coordinating stamp set… now retired.

It’s been a bit of a stroll down memory lane, and although some of the stamp sets and accessories are no longer available, the techniques and the layouts can be used time and time again. For instance, the Blendabilities my be gone, but there are several ways of coloring … Aqua Painters, Blender Pens and our Markers. I’ll show you more coloring techniques with our new Holiday stamp sets.

Thank you for joining me today, and please … let me know when you enjoy what I have shared with you. It gives me insight on what you like, and what you want to see more of.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

My Hero Recap …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy 4th of July!!

Today I just wanted to post a recap of all the cards that I created so far, using the NEW My Hero Stamp Set. I will share all 7 with you today …

000_3508

Ronald McDonald House Charities®

Stampin’ Up! partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Each year, we design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership with RMHC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the each sale of that set. To date, more than $1,000,000 has been donated from RMHC stamp set sales.

000_3527

Stampin’ Up!’s demonstrators are also encouraged to volunteer their time teaching local Ronald McDonald House guests the creative art of rubber stamping through the Making a Difference program. Demonstrators also create cards at training events which are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Those staying at the Houses then use the cards to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

000_3517

How you can help!

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Our homes are filled with more than help, they’re filled with hope

Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House is that “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost.

Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of

their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. We believe that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.

You can help us make a difference. Purchase this year’s set, My Hero, and we’ll donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each set purchased.

I appreciate you staying with me to learn more about the Ronald McDonald House Charities. It’s a foundation that touches my heart, as our children are our future. I’m proud that Stampin’ Up! is a RMHC partner.

Have a safe and wonderful day ~

Egg-stra Awesome Wishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday was Christmas in July … Today I have “Easter” for you!! You’re getting a whole years worth of cards in one week!! I will have one more from our “My Hero” stamp set tomorrow.

I couldn’t resist using the New Oval Framelits to help me create my Easter eggs, you will notice however that I trimmed them down a bit and tucked them into the “Garden Green” grass.  The grass is super simple to create with our “Fringe Scissors”.

000_3519

Our greeting for the “My Hero” stamp set was stamped in the NEW “Sweet Sugarplum” in, which coordinates with the Sweet Sugarplum egg.  You’ll also find Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Soft Sky, and Peakaboo Peach! I highlighted some of the eggs with the “Playful Palette” Washi Tape.

The greeting is backed with So Saffron as well, tying all the colors together. The card is wrapped with the Crushed Curry Bakers Twine which draws your eye right to the greeting, creating a fun focal point to the card.

000_3520

Oh yes … the greeting was cut out with the NEW “Layering Squares” Framelits. I love how these create awesome layers for your cards and projects.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card, I’ll have the last of seven cards created with the “My Hero” stamp set.

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me …

Have a good one!

Christmas in July …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you have been enjoying the “My Hero” showcase. You’ve seen 3 different cards made with this stamp set and I have another for you today.

We’ve all heard of Christmas in July, and today is the 1st of July so I’m sharing my first Christmas card of the year! The saying is from the “My Hero” stamp set and was teamed up with the “This Christmas” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the NEW “Holly” Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

000_3515

I just love that Stampin’ Up! packages cardstocks to coordinate with our Designer papers … it just makes life so much easier.

Once the greeting was stamped in Cherry Cobbler it was punched out using the 2″ circle punch. I backed the greeting with our “Metallic Foil Doilies” … it just adds a beautiful touch to the card.

000_3516

To top it all off and complete my card, I added a gold star from the NEW “Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Are you starting to see how fun and versatile this stamp set it? I’ll have another for you tomorrow too, so be sure to come back and check it out.

Just for You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Squeezing in a quick post from my phone (again) as my Charter internet service was down again last night! But as promised …I have another cute card from our “My Hero” stamp set.

I created this one using the “pumpkin” from the stamp set and the wave pattern from the Swirly Scribbles Framelit dies! My color pallet is Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla.

000_3517

I curled two of the pieces to add some fun dimension to the card … and it reminded me of pumpkin vines. The little spots come from the Swirly Bird stamp set. It just all coordinated so nicely together.

My greeting comes from the “Watercolor Words” stamp set. The bold font of this set fits right in with the whimsical feel of today’s card.

Thanks so much for taking a part of your day to visit my blog, stop back tomorrow to, as I will be sharing another “My Hero” card and some of the fun we had at our Kick Off Party on Monday.

Have yourself a beautiful day !

Blessings of Easter Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

On Monday I shared my “Thanks for Being You” card on my post I called: Friendship is Golden …

000_3217

So today I thought I would show you what I did with the leftovers!!  That’s right – save those tabs!

I really like playing with the new Sunburst Thinlits Die … it cuts easily (I did use the Precision Base Plate) and I’ve seen quite a few cute cards done with this die.

STAMPIN’ TIP … I cut out an additional sunburst (in a different color) to use as my template … hold in place with a glue dot or removable adhesive.

000_3224

I used Very Vanilla card front and placed my template down adhering with a removable adhesive so I wouldn’t damage my card.  Then I began tucking the gold cut out pieces into my template.  I held them in place by using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755). Once I got all the pieces in place, I removed the template and set the cardfront off to the side.

Next, I cut a piece of the White Vellum Cardstock (101856) a quarter inch smaller than my base so that the tips of the “sunburst” beams peeked out from the vellum. I then embossed my greeting in gold. This beautiful Easter greeting also comes from the stamp set Suite Saying. I used this stamp set on Monday’s card too.

  • Vellum = 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
  • Vanilla Base w/Gold sunburst pieces = 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Gold Foil Mat = 4″ x 5-1/4″

I then matted the card front with Gold Foil sheet … I love the way the golden rays stretch out into the gold to frame our Easter greeting. I used the stampin’ dimensionals to pop up the entire card front on the Vanilla base.

000_3224

I added a bow from the gold twine … not sure I like it! Hmmm … what do you think?

From scraps on Monday to a beautiful Easter card on Thursday …

000_3227

I hope I inspired you to get a little creative with your scraps, just play and have fun! And thank you for spending a part of your day with me.

Have a wonderful Thursday ~
