The hello in Tangelo Twist is from the “Hi There” stamp set and compliments the HELLO cut out of the Mossy Meadow with the Little Letter framelits beautifully!

I love how all these colors complement each other, and with so many of the other Stampin’ Up! colors.  Have some fun and experiment with new color combinations…. but if that scares you, you can always get one of the Color Coaches.  Our Color Coach is a great tool to help you with your color combo’s!

As you can see, this beautiful paper can be used for many styles of cards … not just baby cards as the name “Lullaby” would imply.  I love the fun playful patterns in the Soft Subtle colors.

My next three cards are from the “PARK LANE” Designer Series Paper…

Don’t you just love these papers!  The rich Blackberry Bliss color teamed up with colors like Old Olive and Soft Suede make these colors perfect for a man or women’s card… and the patterns are there to support it.

My next 2 cards are from the “Back to Black” Designer Series Paper ….

For me … this is my go to Designer Paper because you can team it up with any colors you want!   The patterns range from floral, to fun, to funky!  It’s great to pick out your pattern and then accessorize it the way you want … like having a little black dress!

The next two cards come from the “SWEET TAFFY” Designer Series paper and from my Quick -n- Easy collection …

000_1224

000_1230

This is definitely a fun designer paper to have around… the colors and patterns are just waiting for you to come out and play!

A Wonderful Journey …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I want to share with you another card from my Quick -n- Easy series focusing on the Designer Series Paper.  My card is a bit more sophisticated than the fun and bold birthday card you saw yesterday.

Nothing says sophistication like black and white, so I pulled out the “Back to Black” Designer Series Paper.  It’s like pulling out your favorite outfit from your closet!  I used it as my background and with one of the banners so you could see two different patterns.

000_1236

I quickly made the banners using the “Banner Framelit Dies”, this is where I introduced the Mossy Meadow, one of the new 2014-16 In-colors.  I secured these to the top of the designer paper and topped it off with the beautiful Mossy Meadow Stitched Ribbon.  It’s so soft and ties beautifully.

To complete the card, I chose the new “World of Dreams” stamp set found on page 127.  This was on my wish list from the moment I opened the new catalog, it didn’t take long before it was in my stamp collection and I was a very happy stamper!

What a beautiful greeting … “Wishing you a wonderful journey through a world of dreams come true”.   The second greeting in the set is; “The best thing about a person like you is that you bring out the best in everyone”.  Perfect … perfect stamp set!

I stamped the saying in Black StazOn, then cut it out with the “Circle Framelit Dies”.  Lastly, I inked up the leaves in Mossy Meadow and “stamped off” onto scrap paper before stamping over my verse.  To create some dimension, I popped up the verse using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

000_1241

It is a very easy card to make and the use of the framelits make it quick and professional looking.

Now is a great time to purchase the designer papers … It’s buy 3, get 1 FREE.

It’s your birthday!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I continue with my Quick-n-Easy card series share with the designer paper.  I thought it would be fun to use the same designer paper and stamp set that I used yesterday!  I came up with a fun and colorful kids card for a birthday.

Our designer paper is the “Sweet Taffy” and I picked the stripped and polka dot patterns… that’s a whole lot of fun!  It’s the “Big News” stamp set,and I picked “It’s your birthday!” and yes, it’s suppose to have ink inside the letters 🙂

000_1229

My base card is Tempting Turquoise… I also matted the greeting with it.   I added the Daffodil Delight behind the designer paper to coordinate with the cotton ribbon and scallop punch behind the candle.  Whisper White was used for the greeting, the candle and the inside of the card.

I pulled out the Circle Collection Framelits to cut out my greeting and the mat.  I was tempted to do some paper piercing on the Turquoise mat some texture, but I said I would give you quick -n- easy! Feel free to step up any card with paper piercing.  It is easy and it adds a nice touch to the card.

I also did some punching, that’s always a quick and easy way to jazz up a card.  Today I used the 1-3/8″ Circle punch and teamed it up with the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle punch.

000_1230

Yep … I did it, I broke out the glitter!  It’s been a while but I love the sparkle on the card.  I’m sure I’ll be sparkling for a few days too.  Even the shower doesn’t even get it all off, but it does look pretty going down the drain! LOL

Don’t forget that today is Tuesday and that means new Weekly Deals!  Click on the “WEEKLY DEALS”  picture below and check out what’s on sale today!

CM1634B

Thanks for stopping by today.  Not sure if I’ll be sharing this combination of  “Sweet Taffy” & “Big News” again tomorrow, but I will have another Quick -n- Easy card for you!

Have a great day ~

Monday can be Awesome!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend.  Mine was somewhat quite … a bit of stampin’ and a bit of planning for upcoming events!  I need all my Hostesses to save the 28th of July so they can attend my Hostess Appreciation Party!  It’s going to be a good one.

My stampin’ was upon request.  I have been asked to share some quick -n- easy cards that showcase the designer paper, since that is our special of the month!  So for the next couple of days, I will do just that.  You asked for it, you got it!

buy3dsp_NA

You’ve seen samples created with the Park Lane and the Lullaby, so today I am introducing you to the Sweet Taffy … sounds yummy doesn’t it.  I definitely have a taste for this designer paper, I love the colors and the patterns are fun!

000_1228

I’ve teamed up this hexagon pattern with Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.  I used my markers to color the greeting so I could have a two-tone effect.

My “awesome” greeting comes from the stamp set “Big News” found on page 68 of the annual catalog.  This stamp set also contains greetings for brides, babies, and birthdays!!

I thought it would be fun to show you another button from the Vintage buttons I showed you yesterday.  Today I colored it with the Old Olive Blendabilities markers.  There is still one more style of button in the container!

000_1224

I finished off the card by adding a bit of bling to highlight the button and greeting.  Who doesn’t have an awesome friend that deserves a bit of bling and a card to tell them how special they are.

Just a bit of coloring on the greeting and the button, along with some awesome designer paper and you have a quick and easy card.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you for stopping in, come back tomorrow for another sample of a quick-n-easy DSP card.

Have an awesome day!

Simply Sweet Sunday …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

It’s Sunday … they day many of us can relax.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today I have a simply beautiful card to share with you.  We begin with Whisper White cardstock and add a splash of Daffodil Delight.  Nothing says sweet summer days more than the clean, crisp colors of white and yellow.

000_1222

I used the new “Lovely Lace” embossing folder for my background.  It’s so pretty and I know it will work on so many cards.  This was matted with the Daffodil Delight.

The pretty flower was punched with the 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle punch and petals created with the paper snips.  Make sure you do not cut all the way to the center or some of your petals will fall off!  Yikes … you don’t want that to happen.

000_1222 close up

The center of my flower is the “Very Vintage Designer Buttons” colored with the new “Daffodil Delight” Blendabilities marker.  You can color anything with those markers … so if you were thinking about getting them – you’ve just learned another technique for your markers.

I fed the ribbon through the buttons holes, then through the flower (Use our new hand held 1/8″ punch/ 134365).  I then brought it across the entire card for an added pop of color.

000_1221

My greeting was stamped in Daffodil Delight and comes from the stamp set “And Many More”.  You’re going to love this set, it’s like your favorite pillow … you miss it when you don’t have it with you.  You know, when your traveling … I don’t think you should take it to work! LOL

Just because … what better reason to send a card 🙂

Hope you enjoyed my summer card today.

Thank you for stopping by ~

Hello … S’Up?

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

What’s Up?  Hope you are having a fabulous holiday weekend!  My “Hello” card share today comes from a swap from my sister Eileen.  She is showcasing the new “Hi There” stamp set found on page 18 of the catalog.

Eileen also highlighted 2 of the new In-colors … Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.  She used Whisper White for the S’ UP? and inside of the card.

000_1210

The beautiful designer paper Eileen used comes from the “Moonlight” paper stack.  Simply cut your designer paper to the desired width, and a bit longer than needed so it sticks out past your base.  Adhere and trim off the edges.

The “Moonlight” designer paper stack is not one of the designer papers on sale, but if you click on the picture below – it will take you to my website so you can see all the designer papers that are on sale.

buy3dsp_NA

The “hello” and “S’ UP?” were stamped in that tasty Blackberry Bliss color!  The “S’ UP?” was then punched out with the 3/4″ Circle punch.  Eileen matted it with the new Gold Glimmer Paper punched with the 1″ circle punch.

This is a perfect layout to use with any of the designer papers … Simple and fun!

000_1215

Thanks for dropping in … enjoy the beautiful weekend!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today’s card share is to celebrate this great country of ours, and the men and women who risked it all to give us the freedoms we have.

Now … it may be a bit late for you to recreate this card, however I want to show you how fun and versatile the “Little Letters Framelit Dies” are!  So today I’m sharing 2 cute cards with you…

Let’s begin with the USA card… simple with a statement!  My base for both cards is Whisper White.

000_1204

I cut the U – S – A out of a 2″ x 4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler.  I used my “Paper Piercer” to gently push the alphabet pieces loose (fig. 1) , and then help pull them out (fig.2).  It’s not hard to do, just use a gentle touch.

000_1200  000_1202

I used the “negative” image on my card instead of the actual letters.  To get the center of the “A” attached … I rolled up a glue dot and stuck it on the back.  I popped the entire USA piece up with dimensionals.

000_1206

I backed the USA negative with a 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of  “Silver” Glimmer Paper, and matted it with a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ of Night of Navy.  I added a scallop to mimic those pretty Red, White, and Blue swags that I love!

To complete this card, a “Happy Birthday” wish was added from the NEW  “And Many More” stamp set.  This will be a must have stamp set with it’s 23 different greetings!

Image this card with your child’s or friend’s name … in their favorite colors!  The is no limit to the cards you can create!

My “firecracker” card was created to use the “U – S – A” letters.   Again, quite simple to make which is what we need as we prepare for holiday weekends!

000_1207

I created the firecrackers with the straws that were included in the June Paper Pumpkin Kit!  And the stars … well they come from the “Itty Bitty Accents” Punch!I created the firecrackers by placing a glue dot into the straw and the sticking a piece of bakers twine in it!!  Simple and… Oh so cute!!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to check out my blog.

I wish you a very safe and happy July 4th!

The Beauty of Blendabilities …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yes …  I missed a day but I’m back with the my “how to” as promised.  To be honest, the best way to learn how the Blendabilities work is to play with them, but until you get yours, I’m here to help.

Grab a cup of coffee and sit back and relax while I take you through the steps to coloring magic 🙂

demoheader_blendabilities_5.1.2014_NA_SP_EU

Let’s start at the beginning.  You will want to pick a line  image (like our friends up above) and stamp it with the NEW Memento Ink Pad onto our Whisper White cardstock – as that works beautifully .  Memento™ dye ink is fast drying and fade resistant. The innovative pad delivers finer impressions and exceptionally even coverage.  It is also acid free!

Now you are ready to choose your color pallet … today I’m using Coastal Cabana! There are three markers per color assortment. They are alcohol based markers are made for blending and shading. They are Acid Free and Lignin Free too!
You can work from light to dark, or dark to light … depending on your color technique. I’ve always used Stampin’ Up!s design to guide me … makes me look like an artist!!

On my first sample I am beginning with the light color first, and I color the entire petal (1). Then I’ve added the medium color (2) and last, the darkest color in the assormtment (3). You can go back over the image again with the light color to blend (4).

000_1192

On this sample, I started with the darkest color first – again following their image and only coloring where there are the lines(1). Next I brought my medium color into the center, and coloring over the dark color to create a soft blend(2). Then I added the lightest color, going over the other two previously colored areas(3). And finally going over it again with whatever color works best for blending and getting you the impact you desire (4).

000_1191

As far as which tip you use, it really is your preference. I like the brush tip for larger areas, however, I know other demonstrators who prefer the harder tip as it feels more like coloring. I must admit, when working in small spaces, the smaller tip works wonders!

If you use the brush tip … color at an angle, it gives you a softer effect and you won’t damage the tip. I will say that the construction and materials used in the tips of these markers are very sturdy.
Just remember that different images will require different coloring techniques … I obviously did not spend that much time and layer of colors with the stem and leaf.

It’s learning some basic techniques and then just having fun with it. And don’t worry when you see the color coming through the back … it’s alcohol based and will do that. I suggest making sure you are stamping on your scratch pads.

000_1194

The designer paper I used for our card is the “Back to Black” and part of the buy 3 get one free promotion.

000_1195

My greeting comes from the stamp set “Starburst Sayings” and I used the coordinating framelits to cut it out.  I used Bermuda Bay ink for the greeting, and the cardstock behind the flower to pull out the darkest color of the flower.  I did however use the “Coastal Cabana” Blendabilities assortment to color the flower.  Don’t you just love how easy it is to pair up the Stampin’ Up! colors!

The other colors used to color are Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities.  I hope you enjoyed the card and explanation. I realize it gets a bit wordy … so thanks for sitting through it.

000_1197

Again, thank you for stopping by today… I would appreciate your comments.

Have an awesome day and a Safe and Happy Holiday Weekend!

Color me Happy …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

There is so much to share with you today!  Let me start with the announcement I am most excited to share …

The wait is over!  Stampin’ Up! officially released one of our most exciting new products, Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers! These exclusive, alcohol-based marker sets come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same color), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors.

blendabilities_US

We recommend using Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Cardstock with your Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities, but choosing any one of our cardstocks will add a unique look to your project. And because traditional alcohol markers require a bit of training, Stampin’ Up! has developed a few videos to ensure that Blendabilities are easy-to-use for everyone!  You can visit www.youtube/com/user/stampinupvideo to view them.

You WILL WANT the Memento Black pad and Color Lifter! The Momento pad was created to work with alcohol markers and won’t smear.  Watch the video to learn more …

What Sets Them Apart:

  • The Stampin’ Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away!

  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.

  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.

  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.

  • Color coded caps.

  • Stampin’ Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, and can be used with transparent sheets.

Here’s a look at my very first card created with the Blendabilities markers …

000_1054

Not bad, but I’ve learned much more about blending, and how nice they really work with just a bit of time.  If you love to sit back, relax and color … you will fall in love with these markers.

I will be hosting a special class, make sure your on my e-mail list so you get an invitation!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Monday is upon us and I have some wonderful news and a beautiful card to share with you today.  My guest stamper is my sister Eileen.  She is also a member of my Star’s by Design group of demonstrators.

Eileen’s card features the new “Park Lane” Designer series paper which I have been showcasing this past week.  I couldn’t have timed it better, because starting tomorrow, July 1st… Stampin’ Up! has a great deal for us … Buy 3 packages of our delightful designer paper and you’ll get another FREE!

Eileen’s card has the polka dot design from the “Park Lane” Designer paper and has paired it up with the sweet “Hello Honey”, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and a touch of Tangelo Twist In-colors!  These colors are just so striking together… don’t you agree?

I couldn’t wait to share this card with you because Eileen also used the fabulous NEW “Flower Patch” stamp set and “Flower Flair” framelits.  You will save 15% when you bundle these two items together.  I haven’t had a chance to play with mine yet so I was so excited to get this card in our Summer Star’s Party Swap.

In just a few paragraphs, I have shared our July special savings on designer paper, and shared Eileen’s swap card using our brand new “Flower Patch” bundle.
