Still Scenes Masking Technique

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Happy Saturday to you! Today I’d like to share with you a card I created with the beautiful Still Scenes stamp set …

So I began my search for inspiration on Pinterest, and what I found was NO samples using ONLY the stamp set! I agree, the coordinating die set is beautiful … but, what if you don’t have it? (I do … but) I wanted to show the beauty of this stamp set so today I will share that with you …

Because I used the MASKING Technique on this card, I started with the Shimmery White Cardstock and it is perfect for the snow globe! I wanted to use ONLY the images from the stamp set.

I began with my base and stamped it with VersaMark and then applied the Silver Embossing powder … once heat set, I moved to the snow globe. If you’re making multiple Christmas Cards, use your Stamparatus for perfect placement every time. Once the globe is stamped, stamp the home scene directly into the snowglobe. Now it’s time to mask …

You will need to stamp your globe image (base if desired) This is where the Stamparatus comes in handy, as it gives you the same alignment as your card. Stamp images onto a plain piece of paper, not cardstock … you could stamp it onto a sticky not and use that to adhere to the stamped card front.

With your Sponge Daubers and Pool Party ink …. gently apply ink (I do my application by small circular motion so you do not get any stopping and starting points of ink on your cardstock. You just want a soft glow of color behind the image … or that is how it appears! It adds dimension to your card without using die cuts, and we got texture from the embossing!

Don’t put that Pool Party ink pad away, you will need it to watercolor your silver base of the globe….

I used the Water Painters which hold water for easy watercoloring. Just squeeze your ink pad together so you have ink on the top inside and use that for your watercoloring tray … the squeeze a few drops of water from the Water Painters, mix and begin painting the ink into the base … you can add as much or as little as you want to make it darker or lighter … the painters give you more control and do not harm the embossing.

Color as needed, then assemble …

I forgot to mentions that I cut out the front with one of the larger rectangle dies… just to add a touch more texture. I added some brown to the trees using the writing tip of our regular markers, the sidewalk and sides of house are Smoky Slate, the tree is Old Olive and the door is Real Red.

You can see by the photo that the card front itself is adhered directly onto the Pool Party mat … it is the mat that is popped up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals directly onto the Shimmery White base.

Sometimes just the simple stamping techniques you learned when you first began stamping are still amazingly beautiful. Don’t forget to add the Wink of Stella in the snow and on the roof top! Santa needs something soft to land on!

Thank you for joining me today, and I hope that you learned a new technique or a stampin’ tip or two.

Enjoy this beautiful day ~

Returning Favorite … Perfectly Plaid

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’d like to share card samples from a “Returning Favorite” stamp set / bundle … I shared “Christmas Gleaming” earlier this week, now lets take a look at the “Perfectly Plaid” stamp set and coordinting “Tree” Punch!

This sweet card was created with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and coordinating Tree Punch … You can find the stamp set on page 60 of our Annual Catalog. The picture doesn’t show the “Blackberry Bliss” as good as I would like, it is a pretty card!

This card was created with a layering of color and is so stunning. The designer paper was cut down into 4 (four) 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ and adhered to a 4″ x 4″ piece of Gold Foil. The tree was also punched out of the Gold and embossed.

The Vellum cardstock was placed underneath the gold tree to highlight it and the greeting. Our color pallet for this card was Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce … perfect for the holidays.

Oh my … this card was a quickie I made with the left over foil that I punched the tree out from the last card. Here’s a little tid bit of information … This is one of my most “Pinned” Christmas cards on Pinterst! Who knew … guess you like simple!!

I made this card several weeks ago to showcase the New “Flowers for Every Season” card packs found on page 154 of our Annual Catalog. It also highlights the 6 x 6 In-Color Designer paper.

I have one more to show you …..

I made these cute little Gift Tags and tucked them into the Gold Pizza Box (that coordinates with our tags) for my Stamping Retreat attendee’s last fall. This little beauty gifts twice … once they used up the tags, they could used the box to share with another.

Thank you for walking down memory lane with me today. The cards can go from quick -n- easy to fun with plaid to elegance in gold… or, box it up!!

Have a great Friday ~

Guess Who’s Back in Town!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

This past week (yes, it’s finally the weekend!) I shared 5 beautiful cards from the Ornate Garden Suite, today … I’m going to share a stunning Christmas Cards from one of my favorite “returning” bundles … the Christmas Gleaming Variety Bundle!

This stunning bundle is back and now you can get all three items, stamp set, two punches and the designer paper for one price of only $63.00. This bundle was used for the Grande Finale at my Holiday Retreat last fall … if you missed it, now is your chance to get it back on your Wish List.

I began with the Pretty Peacock cardstock for my base and brought in the Copper Foil to highlight the filigree on the specialty designer paper. The Copper Foil was embossed with the Hammered Metal 3-D Embossing Folder ….

I embossed my images in Copper (which is no longer available) however, my original was done with Early Espresso and is just as beautiful once the colors are sponged onto them. Once I sponged on the color, I punched out the ornaments and fussy cut the holly.

The greeting was stamped onto the Very Vanilla (as were our ornaments) and then cut out. My holly, Pretty Peacock Ornament and the greeting were all popped up with the Stampin’ Dimensionals.

STAMPIN’ TIP …. The Copper Foil piece that was embossed with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder was cut out of the Copper Foil Sheet that mats our pretty designer paper … it’s a great paper saving technique.

If you’re looking for that perfect Holiday Bundle, gift one to a friend or one for yourself …

Thank you for joining me today. Enjoy the day ~

My Holiday Favorites …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

On Saturday I shared over 30 cards and 3-D projects of some of my favorite retiring items, and as we enter the last stretch I thought it would be fun to share my Christmas fav’s …. I’ve got over 20 samples, they wouldn’t fit onto Saturday’s post.

Most of my avid customers already have most of these stamp sets and dies or punches, they are fun to create with and are so very versatile.

Let’s start out with the DASHING DEER …

Dashing Deer brings the serenity on nature into this Christmas set yet can be made quite sophisticated.

Introducing Winter Wood …. I used these a lot together (Dashing Deer & Winter Woods) Again, you will see elegance intertwined with nature … pure beauty.

My next pick is the MAKING CHRISTMAS BRIGHT …. These two are fun and whimsical and sure to brighten up anyone’s holiday.

The last I’ll be sharing is MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL … This is the perfect stamp set and coordinating dies if you are looking for greetings and sentiments.

A women of few words today, but I think the card samples and products speak for themselves. I have enjoyed using these for the past couple of years …

Watch as Santa works with our Night Before Christmas Suite to complete all of his projects. With a memories and more card pack, note cards and envelopes, and more…

Here is one of the cards that I created with the Night Before Christmas Memories & More …

Did you know…

… that yesterday was the Christmas Poem Day? The poem A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement C. Moore (‘Twas the night before Christmas…) was published in 1823. The poem, which has been called “arguably the best-known verses ever written by an American,” is largely responsible for some of the conceptions of Santa Claus from the mid-nineteenth century to today.

I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and thank you for being part of my stamping circle. Life is so much better when your surrounded by friends.

Merry Christmas ~

I hope you enjoyed revisiting some of my favorites this past season … Looking forward to sharing a few more with you, and kicking off then new Spring/Summer catalog!! Hope you got yours, if not, let me know!

Thank you so much for joining me today … I have a little something special for you tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Begins with Love

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’m going to share with you a stunning card created with a technique I shared earlier and a bundle I have shared with you recently …. My Christmas Begins with Love card marries them both together.

Back in November I shared a card with you highlighting the “Stained Glass Glitter Window” technique …

and last week I introduced you to the Shine Bright bundle and another form of a “Stained Glass” look ….

Today, I’d like to combine the two and show you a stunning card! I love how this turned out …

The image and greeting are stamped directly onto the Window Sheet using the StazOn™ Ink and colored from the back with our Stampin’ Blends. I used the Dark Cherry Cobbler and Dark Old Olive Blends.

I colored a few layers to give it the deep rich color you see … laying it on top of the Sparkle Glimmer paper created that stunning stained glass glitter effect. I used Glue Dots to adhere the Window Sheet to the Glimmer paper.

I used the Holiday Rhinestones and the Basic Rhinestones to add even more shine to the card.  I place my rhinestones in the little circles on the image … and the a few under the greeting to highlight it and coordinate the color rhinestones from the top of the tree.

An easy card to make … but elegant to look at. I hope these cards inspired you to give the “stained glass” technique a try.

I’m so happy that you came over to my blog today … Thanks!

Have a great day.

Joy to All …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another card to share with you that I created with the Shine Bright Bundle.  This one is all about the colors of Christmas with silver, green and red. Let me show you …

We first heat embossed our pretty tree in silver on Vellum cardstock … we used the Stamparatus to get perfect placement on our vellum. Once embossed we used the Real Red and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color our images.  Regular markers would take a long time to dry on vellum and that is why we used the Stampin’ Blends… they dry quicker. We also heat embossed our greeting in Silver and punched it out using the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch.

After coloring our tree, we attached it with Glue Dots onto the Whisper White so it would show up better on our card, and then matted it with a piece of Real Red cardstock … which was also the base of our card.

Our background was created by embossing a piece of Silver Foil cardstock using the Tin Tile 3-D embossing folder … I love that this pattern added some nostalgia (an old fashioned look) to our card. Now our tree was attached on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals, as was our greeting … after added a Real Red banner behind it to make it pop.

A touch of bling is all it needed now so we added the Holiday Rhinestone on the top of the tree and our regular Rhinestones where the little circles were on the stamped image.  That completed our card.

Hope you enjoyed this card as much as my Stamp Club enjoyed making it.  This is another form of the “Stained Glass” technique. Usually I color on the back but we wanted the brightness of the color on this card.

Thank you for joining me today … I’ll see you back here tomorrow!

Wrapped in Plaid Bundle …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I am sharing some cute Christmas cards featuring the Wrapped in Plaid bundle! That Pine Tree punch makes cardmaking quick -n- easy!  I will be sharing several samples that I created, some from the Greek Isles Incentive Trip and from our Holiday Stamping Retreat … all to show the versatility of this bundle.

This little beauty was created from scraps …

I had the squares left over as well which I layered onto a gold background to pull the gold out of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer paper.  Since I wanted the tree to be my focal point of my card, I added a piece of Vellum Cardstock cut from the Stitched Framelits Dies. I then embossed my Christmas tree with the Country Floral embossing folder.

Check out all the goodies include in the product suite ….

This card was created for the Greek Isles Incentive Trip swap and shared for all of us to see ….

I created this card in a jiffy … This little cutie is my #1 card for views & saves on Pinterest! I always said that “simple” works … we all have busy lives, so whatever helps us is a win, win!

I used the Gold Edged-Foil and Envelopes set for the base of my card … and the gold trim is already on there to enhance the gold strips in the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series paper so it’s the perfect choice.  Once the Wrapped in Plaid Designer paper was attached, I die cut a circle and punched the tree into it.

This next card is one that we made at our Holiday Stamping Retreat … It’s so cute!

Another one from retreat using the Wrapped in Plaid but stamped in Non-Traditional colors …

Oh my … I found another from our Greek Isles cruise …

I have one more that I’d like to share with you. This card was one of the swap cards at my Holiday Stamping Retreat … This bundle can really create a wonderful array of card styles! What’s Your Style?

Thank you for hanging out me today!

I hope you enjoyed all these samples, and if this bundle is on your wish list … don’t let it slip through your fingers, it’s on the retirement list.
