I’m Back with our Holiday Stamping Retreat!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

It’s been a week since I last posted … so sorry for that! I was preparing for my Holiday Stamping Retreat that I hosted this past weekend, so today I’d like to show you what I’ve been doing and a look inside my retreats.

I will start with Friday and our guests arriving.  It may have been snowy outside but it was warm and welcoming inside with the smell of soups on the stove and some cute little packages adorning the dining room fireplace …

As our guests arrived, they were guided to their rooms …

Not hard to find when you have these cute little name tags to guide you in.  I used the Cup of Cheer suite … I can’t believe all the compliments on the Wrapped in Plaid designer paper! It is so festive with the gold running through the plaid, and the colors are so rich and beautiful.

To formally welcome our guests, they are gifted some delicious chocolate stars from Madeline Chocolates … YUM!! Oh yes, and a little welcome note to let them know how appreciated I am that they joined us for this special festive stamping event.

After dinner we all gathered in the stamping room to make our first set of cards for the weekend …

I will share our projects with you tomorrow, because tonight I’d like to share a little more of the fun we had on Friday!  After stamping, I asked my guests to go back to thier rooms and open thier Pillow Gifts and then join me in the living room by the fireplace for some treats and hot chocolate …

The tag was created with items from the Perfectly Plaid Suite; the  Tree Punch, Stamp Set & was highlighted with a Shimmery White Doily.

Inside our pretty little gift package you will find …

A pair of holiday socks that they were instructed to put on before the joined us for hot chocolate, a spoon filled with chocolate and marshmallows and some lip gloss just for the fun of it!

We met in front of the fireplace (sorry … I missed a picture of our Hot Chocolate table this time) and enjoyed some hot chocolate, Christmas Cookies, Peanut Brittle and good conversation.

Before everyone headed off to their rooms for the night … We couldn’t miss sharing a picture of all our new Christmas stockings!  Just taking the  picture was a blast! lol  Flashes coming from the entire circle! Oh what fun we had …

and our friend Cindy … She thought we should all go on the stairs! That would have been an amazing picture as well.

We had a fun evening, and as promised, I will share the stamping with you tomorrow.  I continued the “Cup of Christmas” bundle and Wrapped in Plaid” Designer Paper through to our stamping projects on Friday Night.

Till then, have a good day, and thank you so much for joining me again after my week long absence, but now you know that I was in my stamp room creating a fun weekend for my retreat attendees.

See you tomorrow,

TODAY’S STAMPING SUPPLIES LIST …

Wrapped in Plaid Christmas Card II

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Yesterday I shared a card that I created using up some of my larger pieces of scraps from the Holiday Retreat cutting … now I have a leftover gold Christmas tree!  So what else would I do but use it on my next card!! Today I have that card for you …

Besides my Christmas tree, I had the squares left over as well which I layered onto a gold background to pull the gold out of the Wrapped in Plaid Designer paper.  Since I wanted the tree to be my focal point of my card, I added a piece of Vellum Cardstock cut from the Stitched Framelits Dies. I then embossed my Christmas tree with the Country Floral embossing folder.

The base of my card is Shaded Spruce which coordinates with the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Paper, to create a dramatic contrast I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler behind the gold. I embossed the ends of the Cherry Cobbler with the Country Floral embossing folder as well to add some texture and to coordinate with my tree.

The greeting comes from the beautiful Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set from the Brightly Gleaming Suite in the Holiday Catalog.

A simple card really … just some layers to create an elegant look and feel.  I love the way it turned out.  Hmmm … who would know this card was created from scraps!! The secrets our stamp rooms keep. lol

Thank you for joining me today!

I hope you take a moment to enjoy this beautiful fall day.

Wrap Me in Plaid this Christmas!!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have a cute little card that I created out of some of the scraps I have left over from cutting my retreat cards / projects.  One of the suites we will be using at the Holiday Stamping Retreat is the Wrapped in Plaid product suite, so on today’s card I grabbed the Tree punch and that awesome Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series paper.

I needed a base for my card so what is quicker than the using the Gold Edged-Foil and Envelopes … and the gold trim is already on there to enhance the gold strips in the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series paper so it’s the perfect choice.  Once the Wrapped in Plaid Designer paper was attached, I die cut a circle and punched the tree into it.

Can I give you a tip? … Punch the tree first and then die cut the circle around the tree … MUCH easier (just saying). lol

I wanted to carry out the gold into the greeting so I found a scrap piece of gold foil, then stamped on a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  I used Shady Spruce ink and the beautiful “Hostess” stamp set … Greatest Part of Christmas.  I really love this beautiful set of words and verses.  It is a Hostess set so you will need to make a purchase to qualify for rewards or host a stampin’ show.  We could do one, in home, my home, on-line or a book party.

This quick -n- cute card will share your feelings of “thinking of them” at Christmas time.  Hope you enjoyed the card.

Thank you and have a wonderful day ~

TODAY’S STAMPING SUPPLY LIST …  I have shared the link that includes the entire product suite and each item individually. Thank you!

To Santa Christmas Card …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

So happy the weekend is here and hope you have something fun planned! I am continuing on my upcoming stamping retreat but I also have several classes in the works! One of which ties in with todays Super Simple Christmas card …

I used The Night Before Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes that made cardmaking easier than ever! Adhere cards from the Night before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack to these card bases, and you have instant cards! The only work I did was to pick out which card I wanted and to pop up the card with the use of the dimensionals.

Not sure if there is an easier way to make your Christmas cards and for those of us who get busy with everything else … I will be hosting a Night Before Christmas Class in early December!  This will be a pre-paid class were all your supplies will be ready for you … they have to be … we’re making 20 cards!! Remember, quick -n- easy … you’ll love this class as you go home with 20 card patterns to recreate because you’ll be going home with the extra cards & envelopes to make even more cards. Watch for the announcement … coming soon.

Thanks much for stopping back to check out todays cards. I’ll see you back here tomorrow for another quick -n- easy showcase of Christmas Cards.

Have some fun today!

Christmastime Simplicity in Gold …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

If your overwhelmed with all that’s going on in life, but love to make your own Christmas cards, I have some great suggestions for you.  Over the next few days, I will be sharing different quick -n- easy ideas so you can hand craft Christmas cards without any stress.

Todays card is easy to make if you have an die cutting / embossing machine … and I believe most of my stampin’ friends do.  We will be using the Seasonal Wreath 3D embossing folder! To make this super simple … we are using the Gold Foil Edged Cards and Envelopes.  There are 20 Whisper White card and envelopes trimmed with gold foil.  These are your regular A2 sized cards so no extra postage will be required!

I slid the pre-scored card into the folder and centered the wreath and then ran it through my machine.  It just fits inside the gold foil edges but looks so elegant!  The next thing we need to do is add a greeting … now, you could stamp a greeting in the center and heat emboss it in gold, but as you can see … I used a die cut greeting.  My greeting comes from the Jolly Seasons set of dies which comes from the Holly Jolly Christmas Bundle in the Night Before Christmas Product suite.

If you the “Merry Christmas” dies from last years catalog, you could use those for your greeting, or you could get the “Word Wishes” dies found on page 197 of the annual catalog.  This set of dies includes 12 dies and highlights 9 holidays!

You could jazz this up by sponging a little gold on the embossed wreath, or color it!  I am sharing quick -n- easy and sometimes, as I’ve said before, less can be more. Enjoy the beautiful simplicity of the card and get your holiday cards done this year.  I will be back with more simply creative ideas for you.

Thank you for joining me today, see you tomorrow!

Have a beautiful day ~

Christmas Snowflakes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I am back today with another beautiful card from the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle … this card is done in the gorgeous Seaside Spray from our 2019 – 2021 In Color collection. This soft hue in blue tone is perfect for a snowflake card.  We added some shimmer to the cardstock by spritzing it with a combination of rubbing alcohol and our Shimmer Paint.

The snowflakes were cut from the Christmas Layers dies which are teamed with Itty Bitty Christmas for the bundle.  Purchasing these as a bundle will save you 10% … it’s like FREE Shipping! A good deal, either way.  I used the Sparkle Shimmer Paper for my snowflakes … however, I consider this “glitter” paper. We made the “Shimmer” paper by spritzing on our Shimmer paint mixture.  You can see it much better in this photo ….

Our snowflakes are attached with the Multi-purpose glue … it the tip is too large for you, put some on a piece of scrap paper and use a tooth pick to apply.  This was a tip given to me by one of my club members.   Our greeting, from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and the Seaside Spray mat were both punched using our circle punches.  The greeting and the entire front were popped up with the help of our trusty Stampin’ Dimensionals!!

Our club members adorned their cards with Rhinestones…. they loved it because they could use as many as they wanted on their cards!!  What girl doesn’t like a little bit of bling anyway.  I just love stamping with my club members, many are like part of my family now … we share so much together!

I have one more card for you tomorrow using the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle. I love how totally different the first two have been.  I hope you are enjoying the samples. If you would like to order any of the supplies used to make this card, you can contact me directly or use the images below to start your shopping.

Thank you so very much for stopping by …

Have a wonderful day!

Mini Pizza Boxes … All Decked Out!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Hope you are doing well.  It’s finally warming up here but it’s coming with rain … however, I’ll take the rain over the blizzard conditions to the west of us!! Stay warm my friends!

Today I’d like to share another Sale-a-bration item … The Mini Pizza Box and the many different ways it can be decked out (and stuffed) Did you know two good sized cookies fit in there!!

First lets team up the Pizza Box with another Sale-a-Bration item, the “Home to Roost” stamp set.  How cute are these two items together.

Next … I would like to share one of my mantle gifts from a past Stamping Retreat.  I turned the pizza box into a “gift box”… and I embossed the top flap!! Did you know that you can use your folders to emboss the cover of the pizza box.  I decked it out with a silver glitter bow on top and rhinestones on the front … they were so pretty!

A project that our attendees made were these festively decorated pizza boxes with three gift tags tucked inside.  These also made a cute little gift, whether they wanted to share them or keep the gift box with tags for themselves … we had a blast making them and they were pretty easy to make.

Let’s move away from Christmas and head over to a birthday celebration … this cute box is surely filled with lots of happy surprises and birthday wishes.  The pizza box is paired up with the “Postcard Pals” stamp set, and I know of few of my grandchildren who would love to get this for their birthday ….

If you don’t have little kids or grandchildren to deck out one of the pizza boxes … why not try the “One Wild Ride” stamp set with it.  What a fabulous way to deck out a gift card, certificate or hey … cash!!

I hope you enjoyed the five fun ways to decorate your pizza boxes … they’re so cute I wonder if they’ll even care what’s inside!  With just a $50 order, you can add these to your goodies for FREE.  Or … if you have more supplies you need to stock up on, you can add that handsome Rooster as well.

Thank you so much for spending part of your Wednesday with me …

Have yourself and awesome day.

Merry Christmas Eve …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I know I have been MIA (missing in action) … I have been working extra hours at the store and finally got to do my Christmas shopping and getting ready for the holiday.

I hope your Christmas Season is filled with happiness, family and friends…

Merry Christmas Eve …

Hugs to you,

Linda

Create Christmas Cheer

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Oh my gosh … I have the cutest cards to share with you today. These cards were shared with us (demonstrators) from Stampin’ Up! and it wouldn’t be nice if I kept these cuties to myself.

You’ll recognize these samples from the Holiday Catalog and can be found on page 38. You will also notice the Buffalo Check background stamp (I will be sharing some samples & tips on this in a future post).

Here is the “Spirited Snowman” … Give these holly jolly snowmen a place in your home. They deserve it! And they will prove themselves useful!

He just looks like he is having snow-much fun!! And so can you when you a head start in your stamping schedule and get started on your seasonal cards! Using just one stamp set, Spirited Snowman. Stampin’ Up! created these three different cards… the versatility of the set is enhanced with different coloring themes and techniques.

Each one is so cute in it’s own way … I love the two snow-people hugging and the sample on the far right, so cute and so simple to make.  Stamp your snowman … emboss your snowflakes with clear embossing powder … and then sue your watercolor pencils to add color to the background and then blend it with your Aqua painter!  When you blend the watercolor pencils the clear snowflakes will now “pop” out and look white (looks like magic!).

Thank you for spending a part of your Thursday with me …

Enjoy your day!

Simply Sunday: Christmas Cards Made Simple

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Have you’ve been meaning to make Christmas cards year after year but you just run out of time or you don’t get as many made as you’d like to, let me help … Today my Simply Sunday post is to share beautiful yet simple cards that will be easy for you to get those cards done.

Pretty right!? The base of the card is the Gold Foil Edge Cards & Envelopes!! You can find these on page 11 of the Holiday Catalog and you get 20 of each (card base & envelope). Then I simply cut a front to emboss, you don’t have to … you can go directly to the greetings which are from the “Merry Christmas to All” bundle. It can be that easy!

If you do want to step it up and create some texture on the card, the front is 5″ x 3-3/4″ then run it through the BigShot with your favorite embossing folder.  I used the “Tufted” but the new “Swirls and Curls” embossing folder that is part of the All is Bright product suite, either would work great!  The new Seasonal Wreath would be pretty too!

The “Happy” is heat embossed in gold and the “Holidays” is cut from the Gold Foil paper, again both are from the Merry Christmas to All Bundle from the All is Bright product suite found on pages 4 and 5 of the Holiday Catalog.

If you want to step it up a bit …

So in they style of keepin’ it simple, I am still using the Gold Foil-Edged cards, envelopes, and the Merry Christmas to All Bundle with the Gold Foil Sheets, BUT instead of the Vanilla cardstock … I’m using Cherry Cobbler cut to the 5″ x 3-3/4″ card front.

The Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Designer paper adds a beautiful layer to your card with ease. This pattern reminds me of poinsettia’s.  You know, this would be pretty over the Vanilla paper too! This amazing laser cut paper has Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other … how cool is that!?

I’m so happy and grateful that you’ve taken time out of your Sunday to sit with me a while.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and I’ll see you tomorrow.

A Walk through the Winter Woods …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Sometimes we look for holiday cards that are a little on the simple side, earthy, more masculine … well, today is the day for you. I have a wonderful card to share with you that I created using the Winter Woods stamp set.

I started this card using Very Vanilla cardstock … base is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ background that I embossed with the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It adds such a nice texture to the card.

I stamped the birch in Soft Suede on a piece of 2-3/4″ by 3-3/4″ Very Vanilla and then I tied a bow around it … to keep the natural look of the card I used the Burlap Ribbon and pulled it apart!! Love the way it adds so much texture to your card.

I chose to mat the tree with the beautiful Joyous Noel Glimmer paper (Merry Merlot) and measures 3″ x 4″, just to add a little holiday color -n- sparkle.

The greeting comes from the Winter Woods stamp set so no need to look any further, and is stamped in Merry Merlot to coordinate with the glimmer paper. To finish it off, I cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

A nice simple layout with touches of texture and dimension to bring our nature scene alive… and a touch of holiday bling!!

Thank you for taking a stroll in the woods with me today, hope you enjoyed the view!  I’ll be back tomorrow with my Simply Sunday series.

Have a wonderful weekend.
