Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I have another card to share with you that has the beautiful “Falling in Love” Designer Series Paper.  This papers design also has the “Bokeh” look and I’m teaming it up with the “Dragonfly Dreams” bundle …

My card has the designer paper blocked matted with a piece of Pear Pizzazz and our medium sized dragonfly nestled right in the center! I cut the dragonfly out of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and let the sparkles help highlight that beautiful paper.

I mounted that directly onto a piece of Blushing Bride after stamping it it with my greeting. I was thinking of a friend when I made this card, she loves dragonflies ♥  This piece was then popped up with our Stampin’ dimensions and placed on a Pear Pizzazz base.

Not all cards have to be layered with stuff, sometimes it’s all in the message … To a Wonderful friend.

Timeless Tags Card & Class Annoucement

How are you on this fine Monday?  Me? I’m great … starting a much needed vacation! So while I got my computer running better, I’m power blogging so I don’t miss a beat while I’m gone.  I’ve got some great cards to show you this week!

Today we’re going to step it up a notch.  Yesterday I share two cards with you that used the “Falling in Love” Designer paper and the “That’s the Tag” Bundle, so today I took the pink card and I’m going to show you how you can “step it up” ….

We are taking the pretty flower cut from the Timeless Tags Framelits Die and we’re going to mount it to a piece of coordinating cardstock – Sahara Sand and then cutting out the same image in two different colors so we can “piece” those pieces into our original frame. Here are the results ….

Isn’t that pretty! The colors coordinate so nicely especially against that Bokeh background on our designer paper.

I have some great stampin’ tips for you when using this technique.  Mount the frame of your image onto your mat before you begin … I use the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  Set it aside for now.

When die cutting your colors: Only use a small piece of Pear Pizzazz to cut out your leaves, you do not need the entire flower, pop out the pieces you need and mount them directly into your frame. Again, I use the Fine Tip Glue Pen and put the glue into the recessed area of your frame.

Next, I used Blush Blossom for my petals – I die cut the entire image.  DO NOT POP OUT YOUR PIECES (Petals) Take them out as you assemble them, that way you will know exactly where that piece belongs.  When you are all done with your petals, you can pop out the other pieces and save your frame for the next card!

Lastly, I cut the center of the flower with a scrap piece of Pear Pizzazz. I also did a bit of paper piercing around the edge of my flowers center.

You could use a yellow if you wish, however I thought using just these two colors worked best and really brought out the sparkly color from out Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper Frame.

Simply Sunday: That’s the Tag

Today I have a simple and easy cards for you that delights the eyes with our beautiful “Falling in Love” Designer Series paper. The possibilities are endless when you teams this designer paper with the “That’s the Tag” Bundle!

On the first card I chose the “Falling in Love” Designer Series paper that had the delicate flower pattern. The color is Sahara Sand so I used Very Vanilla as my base and my tag.  I stamped the tag with the oval dot pattern and the thanks from the “That’s the Tag” stamp set from the bundle of the same name.

I then added the pretty little “Falling in Love” embellishments from the Falling in Love suite. I placed them to align with the pattern on the paper and to anchor the greeting. Simple!

My next card, I again used the “Falling in Love” Designer Series paper but chose the “Bokeh” style paper. Bokeh, which is pronounced bow-kay or bow-keh, refers to the wonderful out-of-focus light and shapes. The color pallet on my card is Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand.

On our first card we used the simple oval tag for our greeting, on this card we stepped it up with the pretty flower die cut from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  Oh so pretty!

Again, the greeting comes from the bundle and I created a simple banner and then backed it with a touch of the glimmer paper to make the greeting pop.

Sealed with Love

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I want to share with you a card I created using the “Sending Love Suite”. Valentine’s Day is such a sweet holiday … whether is to your soul mate or a grandchild with the bold designs and traditional colors in this product suite it’s easy to send your love.

For today’s card I’m using the “Sealed with Love” bundle which includes the Sealed with Love stamp set, Love Notes Framelits Dies, and the awesome stamp set … Suite Sentiments. You’ve seen this stamp set before on my Friend Card.

I began by using the cool edge die that created this beautiful line of hearts.  It’s really easy, just line it up to the edge of the card and run it through the BigShot. I pulled up the inside of the hearts for a dramatic look and added texture.

I chose the designer paper with the pattern I thought looked a bit like stamps because I wanted to use the greeting from the Suite Sentiments stamp set … “Love is in the Air Mail”.  I just thought that was so cute!

The greeting was cut out and matted with the squares from the Stitched Framelit Dies … Good news, they will be available soon … I will keep you posted.

If you look closely, you will see the “lips” on the envelope … I didn’t get a shot of the inside but it is stamped with the verse “Sealed with a Kiss” and the lips … too cute! So many great greetings / verses in the Sealed with Love stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed, it was a big hit in my January Stamp Clubs. It was easy to create yet very dramatic.

Creative Fun with Egg Cartons!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Have you seen the cute Mini Egg Cartons in the Occasions catalog?  They are on page 18 and tucked in the upper right hand corner. If you like crafting with your kids / grandchildren you should give these a try.

These fun containers are perfectly sized to hold small goodies. They come in a Natural Cream color and contain 8 cartons – each with 4 sections.  When closed they measure 4″ x 4″ x 2-3/4″ … perfect for little hands and little treats!

Project Life: Friend Like You

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m finally back up and running and here to share my “Project Life” creation with you. My last post shared the “Celebrate Everyday” Project Life video so you could see all the goodies tucked inside.

If you ever need a really quick card, just pull out your project life kit!!  I began with choosing a card for the front of my card. I just love this cute little flower pattern so I picked it and trimmed it down the sides to fit my base.

My base color is Flirty Flamingo and coordinates with the colors in my Project Life kit. They have a list of the colors right in the catalog … so it’s easy to choose your color pallet. I then mounted my Project Life card onto the front of the base.

I love stamp sets with multiple greetings and the new “Suite Sentiments” has a little bit of everything so I had to add it to my collection.  I thought the “Everyone needs a friend like you” worked so well with the flower pattern but I wanted it to stand out more so I stamped it on some Whisper white and matted it with a little bit of Flirty Flamingo. You can see the stamp set at the end of my post.

The “Celebrate Everyday” Project Life also has a fun accessory pack that you can get to coordinate with the card collection … this is where I got the heart that matches the pattern on my card. I also backed that with a bit of Flirty Flamingo so it would stand out.

Both the greeting and the heart were popped up with the Stampin’ dimensionals. It’s a great inexpensive way to add some dimension to your cards and scrapbook pages.

Sending Smiles …

I knew I wanted to highlight the balloon so I die cut the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I then pulled out the “Carried Away” Designer Series paper … your FREE items with qualifying purchase. The designer paper is also where I got my color pallet from.

The base of my card was done in Night of Navy as is the center and basket of the balloon.  I also used it to highlight the greeting. The other two colors used behind the balloon die cut are Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder … all of these colors are found in the “Carried Away” Designer Series paper.

They (Stampin’ Up!)  have the dies to cut out the pieces that fit behind the balloon so it makes it super simple to create a really cool design, or ombre look … whatever you desire! The entire card was really easy to make but looks like you put a lot of effort into it.  We’ll just keep this our little secret!

The Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs go live on the 4th … but don’t forget that if it’s bundles you love, you may want to get any from the Holiday Catalog before they are gone.

Simply Sunday: Sending Love

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I hope you enjoyed the holidays and I thank you for spending a part of your 2016 with me. I look forward to sharing more ideas, products and stampin’ tips with you in 2017. I have a great line up of classes and events for the new year as well.

Today I’d like to share with you a sweet -n- simple card that showcases some of the new items in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.

The designer paper used for the background comes from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack (142733) and is part of the Sending Love product suite found on pages 14 and 15. 

All of the items used today come from the Sending Love product suite including the “Sealed with Love ” (142815) stamp set.

To highlight the greeting and create a focal point … I added two of the hearts from the “Sending Love” embellishments (142735).  There are 36 cute wooden elements in this set / 6 each of 6 designs.

Not a lot of work here … just a sweet -n- simple card to send your love in any language! Hope you enjoyed, the products seen here today will be available on January 4th.

Pretty Pines – Guest Stamper: Barb W.
