Blooming Fast to Blooming Beautiful

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

My card share today reflects my “Fast Friday” theme.  This beautiful birthday card is so easy to make, you could pump out a dozen in less than 1/2 hour!!  It’s a great way to create a stash of birthday cards and then get back to the fun in the sun!

I began with the beautiful “Park Lane” Designer Series paper.  This package has many unique designs and will work great for the ladies, the guys and even the kids!

000_1174

I chose the floral pattern in Whisper White and Old Olive, and cut the paper to use the large flower as the focal point of my card.

The greeting comes from the new “Flower Patch” stamp set … fitting, don’t you think!  The “Flower Patch” stamp set is in the new Photopolymer material.  I love it, it’s perfectly clear and sticks to the blocks fabulously!!

000_1175

I then cut my greeting and Old Olive mat from the “Apothecary Accents” framelits.  I did not want the greeting to overpower the card, but just added a bit of bling to draw your eye to it.

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick card.  Stop back tomorrow … I’ll be sharing another beautiful card using the “Park Lane” Designer paper.

Thanks much & have an awesome day!  It’s Friday 🙂

Dare to Dream …

combined-poppies-800

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Let me first send my thoughts and prayers on this Memorial Day to all the service members and their families, who have sacrificed so much to give us the freedoms we enjoy in this country.  I thank you as well.

Today’s card encourages the receiver to “Dare to Dream”, so whether it’s a graduation, a new job or someone moving into a whole new life experience this sweet and simple card will fit the bill.  It’s simplicity makes quite a statement.

000_1093

I have been choosing to showcase simpler cards lately because our summers seem so busy, especially at this time of year.  Use this quick -n- easy pattern with any Washi tape to create your card and get back to enjoying your summer.

I will say … it’s getting harder to pick stamp sets, because many on the retirement list are quickly selling out.  The “Loving Thoughts” stamp set used for my greeting only has the wood mount remaining … the clear mount set is sold out.

The yellow checked washi tape comes from the “Gingham Garden” designer collection and is currently on sale… 30% Off!!  That is good news.

000_1095

As you can see, I added a bit of the washi tape to the inside too.  Washi tape is so fun and easy to use!

My butterflies were created by layering the punched Bitty Butterfly over the Elegant Butterfly.  I just love the way this looks … oh, and I used the “Watercolor Wonder” designer paper to punch the butterflies out of.  I used the “string” of rhinestones for the butterfly body.

000_1098

I finished off my card by anchoring it with the 3 rhinestones at the bottom.  If you haven’t guessed my color pallet by now … I used Whisper White and the beautiful Daffodil Delight.

000_1093

I have a list of ingredients at the end of my post for you.  Just click on it to view more details or to begin shopping.  We only have a few days left before these items retire for good.  Please let me know if I can help you.

Have yourself a wonderful day.

Thoughts of You ….

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Not sure how the weather is by you … hope it’s warm, but here in southeastern Wisconsin, it’s chilly again.  So today I’m going to share with you a lovely card that brings back memories of warm sunny days on the beach.

000_1066

The background was created with a simple watercolor wash using the Aqua Painter.  Choose the colors that remind you of a summer morning (or evening) as the sandpipers cross the beach.  The color pallet for the cardstock include:  Naturals White, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  The warm neutral colors really highlight the watercolor wash.

The sandpipers come from the “Wetlands” stamp set.  The simple reflections are already on the stamp so no extra work required.  Just image them running down the beach.  I can almost hear the sandpipers call!

000_1068

The “Thoughts of You” greeting comes from the very versatile stamp set – Loving Thoughts.  A fitting name for this stamp set!  I am really sorry that this is one of the stamp sets on the Discontinued Stamp List.  All good things must come to an end … only to make room for more beautiful sets!

Below is a list of ingredients used to make the card, just click on the item for more details or to begin shopping.

Thank you for coming along with me on my walk on the beach.

Wishing you a warm and sunny weekend ~

Happy Mother’s Day! (Sneak Peek)

Happy Mother’s Day to all my stampin’ friends,

Wishing all you Mom’s out there a wonderful and peaceful day.  And a big “Welcome” to all my new friends who have recently signed up to follow my blog.

What better gift could I give than to share a “sneak peek” from our upcoming 2014-15 Annual Catalog.  I chose a beautiful flower … the new “Blended Bloom”.  It was love at first sight, and I knew I had to have this one.

000_1054

My base card is Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.  The flower is stamped with the new “Momento” Ink pad.  Looks a lot like the StazOn, but does not smell as good.  It is however designed to work with the new “Blendabilities” markers.

Most of the blendabilities come in a 3-pack.  I have used the Daffodil Delight and the Cherry Cobbler Assortments.  They are really easy to work with.  If you like to color and take your time blending … it’s your dream.  However, if you like a quick color, they work pretty nice for that too.  It did not take me long to color in and blend these colors together.

I added a bit of “lace” for Mom with the “Delicate Details” lace tape.  Holy cow is that easy to work with!!  It’s lightly tacky so you can place it down, and then reposition if you have too.  No adhesive needed … just assembly 🙂  I also tucked a strip of the lace on the inside of my card too.

000_1055

My Mother’s Day greeting comes for the “Delightful Dozen” stamp set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I regret to say that this fabulous set in on the retirement list 😦

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peak.  I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of that flower from me!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your Mother’s Day to visit with me and my blog.

Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Sunday to all ~

Happy Retirement … Masculine Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I’m going to share a simple card you can easily recreate for your loved ones that are heading into retirement.  It seems to be that time of year!  We know all to well that this is the time of year Stampin’ Up! retires stamp sets and accessories to make room for the new!

My card is geared more towards a man, but I know of few women who are avid outdoors “women” so it would be perfect for them too.

000_1049

I began with the “Wetlands” stamp set.  I use this stamp set a lot … the greetings alone are worth the price, and I love, love, love, that wheat!  And, well the birds … what can I say “they’re perfect”.  I wanted the goose to stand out so I framed it using the “Ovals Collection” framelits.

And … what works better for an outdoor card than the “Woodgrain” embossing folder!  To make this pop even more, I brayered Crumb Cake Ink over the Crumb Cake cardstock!  You actually brayer after the cardstock is embossed.  It’s a simple technique and really makes the embossing stand out, and give it a real two-tone appearance.

000_1051

The goose was stamped with the StazOn™ ink and colored with the use of the Blender pens and Crumb Cake and Old Olive ink pads!  Easy 🙂

For my greeting, I chose the “Happy Retirement” for “Tiny Tiny Wishes” … I’m so happy that did not retire!  It has so many occasions and it pairs perfectly with the “Word Window” and “Modern Label” punches.

If you are ready for retirement… I wish you a happy one!

Thank you for dropping by today and …

Have an awesome weekend!

My 2014 Annual Stampin’ Retreat Swaps …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I am sharing with you just some of the swap cards that were exchanged at my annual Spring Retreat.  I must say … there was a lot of talent in our group this retreat!   All of the cards were wonderful.

Our first guest stamper is: Karie K.   I love the beautiful color combination Karie used with the “Polka Dot Pieces” stamp set.  Love the fold and the use of the “Scallop Tag Topper Punch”!  What a wonderful way to express birthday wishes!

100_2379

Our next Guest Stamper is Linda K.  This beautiful card shimmers with delight!  Linda’s choice to team up the “Brushed Gold” cardstock and Striped Gold Vellum in matching envelope is brilliant.   The vellum and the stamp set “Happy Congratulations” can both be found in the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog.

100_2382

My next guest stamper is:  KATHY C.   Another fun fold card.  Like Karie’s Scallop Punch, Kathy used the “Angled Tag Topper Punch”, and used one of my favorite designer papers – Quarterfancy Specialty paper.   The beautiful flower is from the “Love & Sympathy” stamp set.

100_2381

Our next Guest Stamper is: OLIVIA H.  I just love the colorful way Olivia  say’s she’s “Thinking of You” which comes from the stamp set “Kind & Cozy”.  And who doesn’t love the “Gingham Garden Washi Tape”!  Sad to see that leaving the catalog 😦  Olivia finishes off her beautiful card with the “Elegant Butterfly” and the “Pearls”.

100_2384

My last Guest Stamper is: BARB L.  It is also the WINNER of our card contest.  Each guest votes for their favorite and Barb won a $25 Gift Certificate for more Stampin’ Up! products of her choice!

100_2383

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek at our our retreat swaps.  I love having all the wonderful ideas and samples.  Like I said earlier … a lot of talented ladies came to stamp.  Maybe someday I’ll post more.

I’ll post a list of the main ingredients below,  that were used in the swaps.  Just click on them for more information or to purchase.

Thank you for stopping by ~

Simple Sympathy Cards …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I introduced you to the “Simply Fabulous” Simply Sent Card Kit.  As you know, the retirement list went live last Monday and many of the items are already SOLD OUT.  Wow … they go fast!  As far as I know, the items shared today are still available, however the “are” on the retiring list so if you love them, get them soon.

RETIRING STAMPS LIST                  RETIRING ACCESSORIES LIST

We all know it’s hard enough to come up with a card when your in a hurry, but even harder when you or someone you care about has just suffered the loss of a loved one.   It’s so hard for me at that time to create a card, so I took yesterday’s solution using the Simply Sent card kits for quick cards, and added to it …

000_1025

I think this kit works beautifully for sympathy cards, and you can make up a couple of them right away so you won’t have to do it during that time of need.

I paired up the “Simply Fabulous” Simply Sent Card Kit with the “Thoughts and Prayers” stamp set.  I am happy to say that the Thoughts and Prayers is not on the retiring list.

I wanted to add some subtle color so I used the Pistachio Pudding both to back the lazer cut paper and the flowers.  The flowers were punched using the “Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack” – also on the retiring list.

000_1028

I used the “Glue Dots” to attached the punched flowers.  The pretty little gems come in the card kit, as do the envelopes.  Click on the link below to view the kit.

Our card kits are beautiful they way they are, as you saw yesterday, or you can easily change them to any occasion you need.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Have a wonderful week ~

Need a card right away?

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I’m back!  My apologies for the break, I was busy in my stampin’ room preparing for my upcoming Spring Retreat!

Sometimes it’s a bit difficult to come up with a card when your busy … and who isn’t now days.  So today I’m going to share with you a fabulous solution to our problem.

Simply Sent cards!  If you have a Stampin’ Up! catalog, go to page 161, I chose the “Simply Fabulous” Simply Sent card kit.  It’s a pretty die cut note card …

000_1021

I’ve laid out all the ingredients.  I know many of the people who I send cards to, like to display them so I added a folded base to my project.  Then I simply copied the images that Stampin’ Up! provides in the directions.

000_1022

I used the “Anywhere Glue Stick” to adhere the die cut piece onto my cardstock.  It holds very well and you don’t have to worry about the adhesive left between the designs like you do with the snail adhesive.  Each adhesive has it’s purpose!

The greeting (Million & One Stamp Set)  is actually suggested in the catalog to pair with the Simply Sent.  I love this stamp set … the font is beautiful.

000_1023

If you look in my archives or on my Stampin’ Up! website www.lindaluvs.stampinup.net you can view more samples made with the Million & One Stamp Set.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit my blog today.

Have yourself a beautiful Sunday!

Fabulous Friday … Glimmer Brads and so much more!

Hello my Stampin’ Friends!

How are you today!  I am simply fabulous … and totally excited to share this card and some fun stampin’ tips with you!  I know that I have been doing my “Fast -n-Furious” on Friday’s but the ideas for this card, just kept blooming ….

My idea was to show you a simple and pretty card showcasing the “Glimmer Brads” that are currently featured in our “Weekly Deals”.   Punch 3 flowers with the Petite flower punch and put a coordinating color brad into it.  That was my original idea.

Then I thought … oooh, wouldn’t it be pretty if I put some glimmer paper behind it?  Aaahh … then I thought, why don’t I dye the silver glimmer paper to match the cardstock and glimmer brads!  Hmmm … good idea!

Oh, but it didn’t stop there, I needed a ribbon!  I have 3 bolts of the silver ribbon from the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog … so I’ll use that!  Hmmm… wonder if you can dye that too?  Answer … YES!  Yes, you can!

000_0975

So … what do you think?  Glitter lovers rejoice … all the shine without all the glitter mess.  I will take you step by step through the card and share how I created it.

You will need the Silver Glimmer paper and Silver Ribbon, along with the bottles of ink refills to coordinate with your cardstock, Sponge daubers and the Glimmer Brads.  If you do not want inky fingers … you may want so gloves too! LOL  (I’ll post ingredients at the end, as always)

To dye the Silver Glimmer paper, I dampened my sponge dauber with water … it really helps move the ink around.  It should be damp … not wet.  Put a few small drops of the ink onto the glimmer paper and begin to “daub” your paper.  You’ll be making the motion of a sewing machine … up and down with the dauber (You cannot slide the dauber across the glimmer paper) until the ink is spread evenly onto the paper.   You can always add more ink … either to your paper or to the dauber itself.

000_0977

Now that you have ink on your daubers, I gently brushed them on the ends of my punched flowers to create a bit more dimension.  I then used my bone folder to slightly curl up the edges of the flower.  I poked a hole in the center of my flower with my Paper Piercing tool and then inserted the coordinating glimmer brad.

To dye the silver ribbon … simply place your dauber over the ribbon, and pull the ribbon out from under the dauber.  The ink on the dauber will dye your ribbon.  Turn the ribbon over and repeat the process.  It looks best when dyed on both sides.

000_0975

Make sure you give the paper and the ribbon time to dry, otherwise you will get ink marks on your card base.  If you have the new Stampin’ Up! heat gun … you can use the low setting to help dry it.

I hope you are as excited as I am to play with these fabulous techniques.   I just can’t believe that I never thought of dying that silver ribbon before!!  You know me, I love to dye my ribbons.

Watch for more projects from me using these dying techniques!  Don’t be afraid to send me “your” creations (you can e-mail me a photo at:  lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com

Thank you so much for sharing your day with me!

Have a fabulous Friday!!

Technique Tuesday: Layered Flowers with Punches

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

While searching for a card for a friend, I came along a card that I had made a while back and wanted to share it with you.

I remember when I first saw how a fellow demonstrator made this flower and thought how cool is that!  I personally wouldn’t have thought about putting these two punches together, but I’m glad she did!

Blossom Get Well Card

You begin with the “Blossom Punch” … I think most of you have that one already.  Then you will use another popular punch the “Modern Label” punch.  Most of us pair this one up with word window.  Don’t worry if you do not have these punches,  I will have the links at the bottom of my post for you.

OK… as I started before, you begin with the Blossom punch.  I punched my flower out of Old Olive on this card.  Then I chose Strawberry Slush (same as background) and punched 3 pieces from the Modern Label punch.  I cut those pieces in half and layered them over my Blossom punched flower.  It layers so beautifully.

You can choose any design for the center, the one used here is retired.  The center is just a piece of designer paper with a nice coating of the Crystal Effects.

The border around the Strawberry Slush cardstock was created with the “Framed Tulips” embossing folder.

And last by not least … one of my favorite greetings “Perfectly Penned”.  I hope this one does not retire for a long time!  I love it, love it, love it!

Blossom Get Well Card

Hope you enjoyed this fun technique and try it for yourself.  Get creative and pair it with some really fun colors!  I’d love to see them 🙂

Thanks for dropping in and …

Have a wonderful day ~

Too Much Happy?

Hello My Stampin’ Friends,

My, my … You can never have too much happy!  Such is the thought of my card share today.  As promised, I will share with you a sample created with the “Weekly Deals”.  Today’s card features the Perfect Pennants Bigz Die… on sale now, through Monday 4/7/14.

Perfect Pennants Bigz Die

Perfect Pennants Bigz Die 123126
Price: $32.95 NOW $24.71
Create trendy pennants and banners with our Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die! The innovative designs in these longer Bigz dies give you new and interesting creative options. Ideal for cutting thicker materials and multiple layers. Use with Standard Cutting Pads. Measures 6″ x 8-3/4″.

I figured that you could make a banner using that die.   The little decor embellishments work great on your pennants / banners and I wanted to show you how to put them onto a card.  Here it will mat and highlight my greeting!

000_0963

The greeting comes from the stamp set “Yippee Skippee” in our main catalog.  I stamped it onto vanilla cardstock, using the black StazOn™ ink.

My patterned paper comes from (some of you already know) the Modern Medley Designer Series paper.  Who doesn’t love polka dots!

I teamed it up with this cute little flower from the “Mixed Bunch” stamp set.  You can find that on page 89 of the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  Many of my club members have this set, so I thought you would enjoy another use for this stamp set.  The circles (dots) in the flowers work well with the designer paper.

To create the “pop” on the card I used the Gumball Green stitched satin ribbon and my die cut piece in the coordinating cardstock.

000_0962

A quick and simple card to make that anyone would love to receive… very cheery.

I’m posting the ingredients below- just click on the link for more details or to purchase.  Don’t forget the “Perfect Pennants” Bigz die is on sale through Monday.

Thank you for sharing part of your day with me …

Have a “HAPPY” Sunday ~

Throwback Thursday … with “Tag It”

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

With all the social media buzz going on now days, I thought I’d share something fun with you.  No … I’m not posting a “selfie” but I thought it would be fun to do a “Throwback Thursday”.  So today I’m going to share with you some cards that I had made a while back.

I’m actually going to share a “set sampler” with you.  This is a group of cards made from the same stamp set…. today’s set is the “Tag It” stamp set.   Some of these you have seen before, and some will be new to you.  On that note … let’s get on with the sharing!

My first card is a Get Well card that I paired up with the “Quarterfancy Specialty” Designer Paper.  I created it with Daffodil Delight cardstock because I thought it was bright and cheery!  I also used the Polka Dot embossing folder and Daffodil Delight seam binding.

101_1385

This cute birthday card below, is a fun card for the kid of any age … 9 to 92!  I love all the bold colors by using the brights collection: Pacific Point and Real Red.  I teamed it with the In-Color; Gumball Green (this will be retiring this year!)

The “Tag It” stamp set coordinates with the “Chalk Talk Framelits” found on page 187.  I used the tag framelit to create a focal point for my stamped image.

You will also see the cute little “Candy Dots” … I used them to anchor the red banners.  All mounted on the Pacific Point background that was embossed with the “Fancy Fan” folder.

101_1399

The “Tag It” stamp set our Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set.  Each year Stampin’ Up! designs a new stamp set to raise funds to help families who have children with serious illnesses.  When you buy the “Tag It” stamp set …. Stampin’ Up! will donated $3 to the RMHC.  It’s the best kind of gift.

My next card is a fun and bright way of saying … Congratulations!  Who wouldn’t want this star spangled beauty to celebrate their accomplishments.  Again I used the Chalk Talk Framelits and Candy Dots.  I did however team up my stars with the stripes embossing folder.

101_1379

Oh yes, there is more!   Why … because “I DIG YOU”!!   Oh my gosh … I love this card (I love them all) but this one is just a neat way to tell someone you care about them.

I used the “Epic Day This and That” Designer Series Paper.  The earthy colors work so well with our “digging” tool!  LOL    Oh my … it’s just too cute!

101_1397Oops … I forgot to tell you that I used the “Honeycomb” embossing folder and the fabulously fun to use “This and That” Washi Tape.

I have one last card for you… my “Christmas Around the World” card.  OK … I love this one too!

100_1779

I used the “I Am Me” Designer Series Paper because of this pattern.  I just thought “how can you not use that for a Santa card!”  Right?  Again, I used the Chalk Talk Framelits to cut out Santa.  He was actually stamped twice, once in Gumball Green and the other in Real Red.  The green greeting were cut out and popped up on the tag.

If you don’t already have this stamp set … think about it.  With each set sold – $3.00 goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  To date we have donated over $1,000,000 … because we all care.  Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card share … this one really touches my heart. I have listed the ingredients for these cards along with the link to view or purchase.

I wish you a warm and wonderful day today.

Birthday Butterflies …

Hello Stampin’ Friends, and a happy Saturday to you!

Today’s blog post is a simple but beautiful birthday card that you can easily recreate.  Let’s begin with my base of Very Vanilla.  I chose the vanilla because I had already picked out the designer paper I wanted to use, the “Retro Fresh” from the “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog.

The base is simply a half sheet of cardstock – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.  Next is the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper, which is 5-1/4″ x 3″.  I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch to create the beautiful edge.

000_0914B

Next … I wanted to create a bit of a “wow” factor, and knew that the contrast between the Early Espresso cardstock from the Core’dinations package, against the lightened Coastal Cabana of the Retro Fresh would give me just what I was looking for!  The Espresso is 5″ x 2-1/2″ and leaves a nice border of designer paper.

The vanilla that will be punched with the “Elegant Butterfly” punch is cut to 4-3/4″ x 2-1/4″.  I also embossed it to give it some dimension … I used the “Modern Mosaic” folder and placed the cardstock in crooked to give it the appearance of “flutter” lines.   Keep your butterflies … you can use them on another card 🙂

Using the “Bitty Butterfly” punch … I punched out 3 butterflies from a scrap piece of the same Retro Fresh designer paper.  Each butterfly is popped up with a tiny piece of the Stampin’ Dimensionals and then centered in the Elegant Butterflies negative space.

My greeting comes from the stamp set “Blooming with Kindness”, and is stamped in Early Espresso.  This is a simple flower stamp with beautiful verses and I find I use it quite a bit.   A good stamp set to have in your collection.

I finished off my card by embellishing my butterflies with 3 pearls each, from the pearl strands.  I felt a strand of pearls by the greeting would be the “cherry on top” and would truly complete this card.

000_0916

Shhhhhhhh … this is my Mom’s birthday card.  She loves butterflies and I know she’ll love this card.  Her birthday is 4 days after mine, she actually brought me home from the hospital on her birthday.  Great little present … don’t you think!?  tee hee!

Again, I will post the list of ingredients below, that I used to create today’s card share.  For more details on these products or to purchase, just click on the item.  Don’t forget … you still have time to get in on the FREE Sale-a-bration items, but it does end March 31st.

Thank you so much for spending a part of your Saturday with me.

Have a wonderful day ~

Fast -n- Furious Friday: Using Scraps!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ….

Holy cow, I can’t believe it is Friday again!  Don’t get me wrong, I love Fridays … especially when I have off of work until Tuesday!  Wooo hooo.  I’ll be busy in my stampin’ studio working on my upcoming retreat.

Fridays mean “Fast -n- Furious” cards, and what better way to make a quick card than to grab a bunch of scraps.  First let me say that I got my inspiration from “Pinterest”.

I was looking at a few boards and this object caught my eye … it was a board full of “quilting” designs … that’s when the light bulb above my head went on!

9454cbccd509c42b247a7c2d49e820a8

What a wonderful way to use up my scraps.  This card was super simple to make … I simply cut some scrap pieces of designer paper – 1-1/4″ x 4″.    I used the  “Gingham Garden” Designer Series Paper.

Since my designer paper had 4″ length … I cut my Whisper White base into a 4″ x 4″ square.

A simple trick to make sure you pieces are centered is to place your base onto your Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper.  I love this not just because it’s your stamp pad, but the grid make aligning your projects easy peasy … there’s room for notes, and you’ll always have a ruler handy!

000_0922

I added a bit of adhesive at the 2″ mark and then aligned my strips of scrap.  Did the same for the bottom section.  When your laying down the strips, one goes over … one goes under.  Super Simple.  Then you just adhere the ends.

I picked the Perfectly Penned stamp set because I thought it works well with the feel of the card.  Besides, who doesn’t love that font!!  It’s done using the Craft White ink and the White embossing powder.

So today’s fast -n- furious card is just a bit of cutting, aligning, and then embossing your greeting.  Items used to create this card will be found at the end of my blog.  Clicking on the item will direct you to my website where you can view the product more closely or to make a purchase.
