Thanks… Love ya! Card

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

How are you today?  I am feeling pretty darn good, hope you are too.

I am excited to share today’s card with you.  I have been “piggy-backing” my cards for the past couple days … and today is no exception.  Yesterday I shared a card using the “Hip Notes” stamp set, so today I will share another design using that same set!

So my first task was to decide which image I would use this time, so I chose the “Thanks”.  Well those little arrows took me to the “Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper”.  I chose the pattern with “arrows” on it!

000_0602

You got it … it was the little circles on the designer paper that made me think of the “Circle Card Thinlits Die”.  I love working with this die!  It is so easy to use, and the recipient of the card just “flips” over it!  Ok … bad pun, I’m sorry!  Back to the card.

Well, with all these little arrow going on … I thought I would pull out my “Chevron Border Punch”.  I bought this a while ago and never used it yet!  Whew … I was really happy when Stampin’ Up! carried it over into the Occasions catalog!!

000_0600

Of course you can see that my color pallet was supplied by my designer paper … so I went with the Baked Brown Sugar, the Coastal Cabana, and Very Vanilla.

After cutting out the “circle flip card base” … I punched out at Baked Brown Sugar mat, using the 2-1/2″ circle punch.  For my greeting, that was stamped in the Baked Brown Sugar onto Very Vanilla, and then cut out with one of the circles from the “Circle Collection Framelits”.  Just as I said yesterday, I also used my “Magnetic Platform”.

As you can see, one little image can take you on a journey through an entire creation!  Another cute and simple card … what did we ever do before that “Big Shot” came to town!  I’ll tell ya, it was mighty boring around here.  LOL

Oh yes, and when you “flip” that card … you will get a sweet little greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set that I used a couple days ago.

000_0601

Thanks for stopping by and following along on my card making journey today.

Simply You … & … Me

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Yesterday I shared with you a glimpse of the “Sweet Sorbet” Designer Series Paper that will be available during Sale-a-bration, which kicks off January 28th.

Today… I would like to share with you another design from the “Sweet Sorbet” paper.  I want you to be able to see different ways the paper can be used in combination with some of our favorite stamp sets.

000_0596

I chose this fun and somewhat sassy designer paper and I thought of “you & me” … just think back on some of our discussions at our club meetings … right!

Well the next step was easy, and besides, I wanted to show you how fun the “Ampersand” embossing folder was to use.  I used “Pool Party” cardstock and the “Circle Collection Framelit Die” to cut it out.

The “You … Me” comes from the stamp set “Hip Notes”… it’s on page 18 of the new Occasions catalog.   This is the first time I got to use it and I’m so happy I can share it with you.

I cut the “You” and “Me” out using the Bitty Banner Framelits.  I also cut out 2 Basic Black banners out to act as a mat and give it that “pop”!  The card was secured to the Basic Black base for it’s WOW factor.

000_0598

I lined the envelope with the “Sweet Sorbet” designer paper using the “Envelope Liner Framelit Die”  which is currently on sale.

I must say, the card was really quite simple to make with the right tools, and so stinkin’ cute!  I want to let you know, that when I’m working with the “framelits” … I use the “Magnetic Platform” to hold them into place.  It is fantastic … no more slipping, and no more sticky notes!

Please note that there are very  strong magnets in the platform and care must be used  if you have a pacemaker or such.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for stopping in today.

Sending Love …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today my card share is from one of the most requested card classes I receive… sympathy cards.   Usually when we go to our stamping spots to create, we are happy and make fun birthday cards for friends and family.

It seems to me that when you need a sympathy card, that is the last thing you want to do … so I am going to help out in 2 ways today.  First, my card share and then to invite you to an upcoming card class designed around those occasions when our hearts are just not into stamping … My “Open Hearts Class”.

Just remember, even though it’s a difficult time, the card you make to cheer someone up when they’re sick or comfort someone who’s lost a loved one – those cards forever touch their hearts.

000_0485

I began with the “Blessed Easter” stamps (comes in wood only) and just omitted the Easter greeting.  I did this by the “Direct to Rubber” technique, using markers to color the image.

The colors I chose were Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi.  I then used the “Blender Pen” to pull color off my marker tip, and add it to the card, creating a watercolor look to the flower.

My salutation (greeting) comes from the “Love & Sympathy” stamp set found on page 68 of our catalog.  To add a touch of texture to the card, I used the “Flower Garden” embossing folder.  It’s very subtle but it added a nice touch to the card.

000_0482

Simplicity is key… for those making the card and those who receive it … just a heartfelt note to let them know you are thinking of them and that you care.

I will be posting my “Open Hearts Class” on my website www.lindaluvs.stampinup.net  I will post full details including class details and time.  Date for this class will be Monday, February 24th.  Mark your calendar and save the date!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Just Sayin’… Two-day is Special

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today I have something special for you … two card shares and a treat.  Why you ask?  Well, today is my 200th blog post!  I am really excited to have shared my passion of stampin’, some of my travels, and even a bit of my home life & family with you.

Yesterday I shared a few of my favorite things from the new Occasions Catalog, and told you that I would create a cute card for you with the Just Sayin’ bundle.   In honor of my 200th post, I didn’t bake a cake, but I have BLOG CANDY!  Keep reading …

The first is with the beautiful “Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper” …

000_0573

The card is sweet and simple to make.  I used two different patterns from the “Watercolor Wonder” designer paper.  The patterns coordinates perfectly so it’s easy to pick 2 to pair up.  Then, I simply stamped the “miss you already” greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set in Tangerine Tango, and cut it out with the coordinating “Word Bubble” framelits.

Ahh yes, and I must not forget the beautiful “Organza Ribbon“.  I keep at least 2 rolls on hand at all times because it works so nicely on a number of different styles of cards.

So, how are you liking the Just Sayin’ stamp set so far?  And how about the coordinating framelits?  No cutting … I love that!

OK … on to the next card.  With Valentine’s Day coming up, I just wanted to say “Love Ya”!

000_0578

Oh my, it appears as if I have another “SNEAK PEEK” … this time it comes from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration Catalog!  The texture you see on the card comes from the “Decorative Dots” Embossing folder in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  (I am currently booking “stampin’ parties” if you’d like to get you folder and more for free… contact me).

Once I textured the cardstock for the card and coordinating envelope, I used the “Hearts Collection Framelits” to create the focal point of the card – the hearts.

I wanted to add a bit of “zing” to the card, so instead of leaving the background of the heart plain, I simply dabbed my “Versamark” onto the white cardstock, then heat embossed it using silver embossing powder and our spiffy new heat gun.  Did you know it has two temperature settings?  One is for drying … the other is for embossing!

What better greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set goes better with hearts than “Love Ya”.  I used Cherry Cobbler for both the ink and cardstock.  I then finished it off with a cute little bow made with the Silver Ribbon.

Both of the cards have coordinating envelopes.  These were created with the use of the “Envelope Liner Framelits“.  I think it adds such a nice touch when sending your hand stamped cards.

000_0573  000_0578

OK … Now how do you like this dynamic duo – the Just Sayin’ Bundle?  Well, I love them.  In fact, I love the stamp set so much (and because we’re celebrating my 200th post) I’m giving away a “Just Sayin’ Clear Stamp Set“!!  That’s right … BLOG CANDY!

000_0581

All you have to do is comment on what “you” think about this duo!  One name will be randomly chosen on Monday night at midnight (central time) … and then I’ll post the winner on Tuesday.  You will have 24 hrs to send me your contact information (lindaluvs2stamp@aol.com) so I can get your stamp set out to you!  Good Luck … and thanks for following my blog!

Thanks for stopping by today!

You & Me …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Happy Friday!  Today’s card share is day 2 of the “Weekly Deals” showcase.  I also wanted to share with you some of the “new” by introducing you to the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set which is found in the “just released” Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set has a coordinating framelit die … Click this link to see bundle!

Here are the weekly deals I’ll be using today …

Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies

Regals Core’dinations Item # 129955

Discounted Price: $17.96

Combining these 4 items was really easy and fun!  I began with the Regals Core’dinations paper … Cherry Cobbler of course, and embossed it with the “Fancy Fan Embossing Folder”.   Then I sanded the Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations paper to give it that two-tone look.

000_0570

I knew I wanted to incorporate a new stamp set for you, so I chose the “Perfect Pennants” stamp set. Since it’s been soooo cold outside, I thought it was time to heat things up with another Valentine’s card … or Anniversary card, and chose the “You & Me” greeting.  I stamped it with Black StazOn and then stamped the heart (from the stamp set) in Pink Pirouette.

Next I used the “Window Frames Collection Dies” to cut out the greeting.  And what else would I mat this with … why the Silver Glimmer paper of course!  I then topped it off with 3 small hearts punched out of the Silver Glimmer paper.

000_0571

I then added a simple ribbon bow to tie it all together.  To finish off the card … I punched a single heart on the inside.

Hope you enjoyed today’s “Weekly Deals” showcase.  I find it challenging and fun to create a card using specific items!  Sometimes a card idea pops in your head from other images, and sometimes it’s comes together by choosing a few of your favorite things.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Circle me happy …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

As I said yesterday … I would make you a card from some of the items listed in the “Weekly Deals.”

Today’s card will feature the “Circles Collection Framelits” and the “Bermuda Bay Ink Pad“.  You will also get a “Sneak Peek” from the the New “Blessed Easter” stamp set!  Available January 3rd … tomorrow!!

Circles Collection Framelits Dies

Discounted Price: $20.21

Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad

Bermuda Bay Classic Pad Item #131171
Regular Price: $5.95
Discounted Price: $4.46

I have always wanted to make a “Circle” card, and since I was featuring the Circle framelits, I thought… “no better time than the present!”  What do you think?

000_0565B

I used the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana cardstock and inks.  To create the circle card, you begin with a “folded” piece of cardstock.  Align your circle die (here I used the largest, which is the scallop) above the fold.  This will give you a folded card.  If you place it under the fold… you will end up with 2 circles.  Next, I layered the colors by size so I would end up with the white center.

I then inked up the flower from the “Blessed Easter” stamp set (in the new Occasions catalog) with the Coastal Cabana ink … “omitting” the greeting.  The greeting on today’s card comes from the stamp set “Yippee Skipee” found on page 37 of the main catalog.

000_0566

To complete my card and add a bit of dimension, I used my blender pen and added some of the Bermuda Bay color into the tulips.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Have an awesome week!

Happy Valentine’s Day …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr …. it’s cold outside!  Woke up to minus 11 yesterday, and not much better today and it’s been topped off with some snow!

Glad to see you came back to check out what I did with that extra heart!  Well, it’s a super simple Valentine’s card.

000_0545

I grabbed my “Season of Style” Washi Tape … also from the Holiday catalog, and simply created lines  across on my card.   Washi tape is so fun and easy to use.  I secured the left side behind my card base, then brought it “through” the heart, so it was under one side and over the other!

Next I took the “Small Heart Punch” and punched 3 hearts out of the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Then I aligned all 3 hearts down the side of the card.  Each of the silver glimmer hearts were “popped” up using the Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I’ve just got to add that dimension!

Next, I dug out my trusty … “Tiny Tiny Wishes” stamp set and added my Valentine’s greeting directly under the washi tape.  Can’t get much easier than this!  Quick, Simple & Cute!

000_0547

Thanks for stopping by today… sniff, sniff (wiping away tear) … this is my last post this year.  See you next year.  I will have so much more to share with you in 2014.

I want to “Thank You” for following my blog this past year … I was amazed to see that I have 12000 hits in only 6 months of blogging.  My blogger friends tell me that’s “pretty darn amazing”.  I say … I have amazing stampin’ friends!  Again, Thank You!

I wish you a very Safe and Happy New Year!

Love Letters …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you had an awesome weekend!  I must say… “mine was great!”  I got to spend time in my stampin’ studio creating and then I had a chance to watch some amazing athletes on Sunday.  I was so excited to see that “Sugar Todd” … hometown: Milwaukee, WI skated (speed) her way into the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi!  I will definitely be cheering her on this January along with all the USA athletes.

And if that wasn’t enough, our beloved Green Bay Packers made it to the Play-Offs… beating the Bears no less!

1509663_10152044579795073_1825816939_n

Woooo Hooo … it was a great day!

Now I’d like to show you what I was doing in my Stampin’ Studio.  I decided I was going to use items that I bought from the Holiday Catalog, and then did not use!  So here is what I came up with ….

000_0542

One of the items I picked was the “Pretty Presents Designer Tags” … normally used for Christmas (missed the boat on that one) so I decided to create a Valentines Card.

The tag is the focal point of the card, and if you look closely you will see that the tip of the tag is centered in hearts (like a bulls-eye for Cupid).

The hearts were created by layering the Framelits (Hearts Collection) onto my Real Red cardstock base … I used all but one of the hearts on this card.

I did trim off some of the tag, so it would fit nicer on the card with the hearts.

000_0537

To add a little texture, I used the “Pretty Print Textured Impressions Folder” also from the Holiday Catalog (ends Jan 3rd) on my red cardstock after cutting the hearts out.  It was the script on this folder that made me think of “love letters”… and who doesn’t love to get a love letter, or a pretty card!

The only sentiment or greeting I used is the “XOXO” from the “Circle Card Thinlits“.  You can view all the neat dies that come in this package by clicking on the link.  This is one of the “flip card dies”.

So … not bad for trying to use up some of my Holiday catalog items, right?!  Let me know what you think of my tag idea (all comments will be put into a random drawing for a chance to win the Pretty Presents Designer Tags).

000_0541

Now, I bet you are wondering what I did with that other heart … aren’t you.  Well, stop back tomorrow and I will show you what a cute little card I made with the left-over heart!

Thanks so much for stopping by, looking forward to reading your comments!

Have an awesome week!  The New Year is creeping up on us!

It’s a Boy … Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday my Stampin’ Friends!

Hope this post finds you well and in good spirits.  We are having a beautiful day here in southeastern Wisconsin … we may even get to 40 degrees!  I’ll take this “heat wave” since they are predicting below zero temps in 2 days.

Today I have a cute little “Sneak Peek” card for you that not only gives you a sneak peek at the Occasions catalog, but also a Sale-a-bration item that you can earn free!

As I promised yesterday, I am going to show you a peek at the new designer paper “Watercolor Wonder” … there are so many beautiful patterns in there, I decided to showcase my least favorite~

000_0513

I’m not to big on “splotches” … is that a word?  Anyway, I decided to challenge myself with my least favorite, but I must say that I love the way this turned out.  How cute for a baby card.  I know my baby is 30 something, but I still recall that little ones are good at making “splotches”.

Once I chose the paper, I cased a pattern from our Stampin’ Success magazine, and used the new “Banner Framelit Dies” to cut out a banner from the designer paper.

Next, I punched a banner from our Sale-a-bration banner punch, but it was a bit short, so I made it longer.  I took a picture showing how to do it, but because the product has not yet been released … I can only show samples and not the actual product.  So I will be sure to show you how I did it, after the catalog release.

I used the same stamp set as yesterday, “A Dozen Thoughts” and decided to use my “Stamp-a-ma-jig” to place the words where I wanted them on the banner.  I then roughed up the edges to create a bit more texture.

000_0511

Then I just finished it off with a pretty little bow.

000_0513

Thank you for stopping by today!  Enjoy your Saturday.

A Sneak Peek “Hello” with deals included …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Hard to believe we’re coming up on the weekend already!  I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend planned.

So yesterday I told you that I would incorporate some of the items from the “Weekly Deals” into my card, well I am excited to say I did that, and included another Sneak Peek (yes, I spelled it correctly today)  Why is it that you never see the mistake until “after” you post / send your message.  lol

Today’s card share will show you another design from the “Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards” … I really love these!  They are so easy and fun to work with …. and they make us look like artists!

000_0506

The “Weekly Deals” that I have incorporated are the “Needlepoint Border Embossing Folders”, the “Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon” and the “Fancy Flower XL Punch”.  Three on one card … not bad!

I began with the Needlepoint Embossing Folder, and used that as the anchor to my card (the one item that ties everything together).

Next, I punched out 2 flowers from the “Fancy Flower Punch”  in the “Crisp Cantaloupe” and then sponged the edges with “Tangerine Tango” ink.   I chose the color pallet based on the colors that were included in the new “Watercolor Wonder” Designer Series Paper … I’ll show you that tomorrow!

I wanted a center to my flower, so I tied a knot in the “Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon” and pulled it through the flower. Then I added a ribbon banner to pull the color into the card.

000_0504

I added the 1″ circle of vanilla … after I smeared my greeting and had to punch it out and add the “hello” on vanilla!  You know what I say … there are no mistakes in stamping, just opportunities to change the card!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Don’t forget to check out the new items added to the “Clearance Rack Blitz”… just click on the link to check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a “Fantastic Friday!”

Sneak Peak, Weekly Deals, and Big News … Oh My!

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas.  Today I am going to share another “SNEAK PEAK” from the upcoming Occasions Catalog.

I also have the latest Weekly Deals … sweet!  Keep coming back, as I will share with you in the next few days, cards I have made using items off from the Weekly Deals…. even sweeter!

Plus …. BIG NEWS!  Stampin’ Up! will be adding more new items to the Clearance rack on Friday, December 27th.

First … my Sneak Peak!

My card share today comes from the new “Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes”.  There are 20 printed cards on Watercolor paper … 4 each of 5 designs and 20 vanilla envelopes.

000_0493

I teamed the note cards with the “Million & One” stamp set.  A little thanks to all of you who follow my blog.

I embellished the card by pairing up our beautiful butterfly punches… they looks so good  layered together.

First is the “Elegant Butterfly” punched and sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe from the 2013-2015 In Color Collection, then “Bitty Butterfly” which was punched and sponged with So Saffron.

Once layered, I topped off the butterflies with the pearls.

Christmas Wishes …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Burrr!  Hope you’re staying warm.

As we begin the day with a whoppin’ 5 degrees, I hear it’s going to warm up into the 20’s … just so it can snow!  Oh well, that’s winter in Wisconsin!

Today I will share with you my final “Silver & Gold” card (we’ll at least for a little while).  I couldn’t resist, I was just having too much fun creating with these fabulous foil papers.

000_0447

My card today highlights the “snowflake” from the “Festive Flurry” stamp set found in the Holiday catalog.  Just to let you know,  the holiday catalog purchasing period ends January 2nd.

I heat embossed the snowflake with the silver embossing powder and cut it out with the coordinating “Festive Flurry” framelit dies.  I then highlighted it with the rhinestones.

I used the Ovals Collection framelits to cut out an oval to showcase the snowflake.  I also added a strip of the gold foil paper to the side, after embossing it with the “Stylish Stripes” Impressions Folder.  I accented it with the silver ribbon, just to tie bring the card together.

My greeting “Christmas Wishes” comes from the stamp set “Joy to the World” … I was really impressed with the stamps in this set and use them quite a bit on my cards.

I used Very Vanilla cardstock as my base, it created a softer and warmer effect than using the white.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be sure to show you something other than silver and gold tomorrow.

Stay warm ~

Christmas Cheer …

Hello my Stampin’ Friends,

Wow … It’s cold outside today!  We’ve got -4 degree windchills …. burr!

Today I want to share another Silver and Gold card, simple and pretty.  Just a few steps to create…

000_0445

I taped together (on the back) the silver and gold blocks to create the background.  I then stamped the snowflake from “Festive Flurry” and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

I embossed a separate snowflake and cut it out with the coordinating Framelits.

My “christmas cheer” greeting comes from the stamp set “Sweet Essentials”.

Now to finish off the card I added the Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine and a “Frosted Finishes Embellishment”.

Enjoy your day and stay warm …

Silver and Gold Greetings …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

OK … so how many of you did I stump with my “Stay Gold” comment or wonder who the heck Johnny and Ponyboy were?  It’s from the movie “The Outsiders” …

The Outsiders is a 1983 American drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by S. E. Hinton (taken from Wikipedia)

Outsidersposter.jpeg

The film is noted for its cast of up-and-coming stars, including C. Thomas Howell (who garnered a Young Artist Award), Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane.

Ponyboy Curtis was played by C. Thomas Howell and Johnny Cade was played by Ralph Macchio… the main characters in the film.  I like this movie and watch it whenever it’s on.  It truly launched the careers of many of it’s cast.

Today’s card share …

000_0436

Staying with the “gold” theme … I followed the same technique as yesterday, embossing the gold foil sheet but I used the “Stylish Stripes” emboss folder on today’s card.  Then I secured the beautiful “Silver 1/8″ Ribbon” along the double stripes to create a cool effect.

I promise I won’t go into the background of the holiday song … Silver and Gold sung by Burl Ives.  However, I will ask … do you know what movie that hails from???

Keeping my card simple … I just added the “Season’s Greeting” greeting from the “Joy to the World” stamp set.  Again, I heat embossed it with gold emboss powder, then backed the greeting with the Silver Foil paper.  The base of the card is Whisper White.

Many of the items used for this card are found in the Holiday catalog, and you can view by clicking on any of the “highlighted” words.
