Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Today I’ll be sharing my Facebook LIVE replay for you. We created a cute little Gift Basket from the Pillow Box Die … You’ll be surprised at how easy this is to make!

I have the dimensions for the inner box in the video but I thought I would share them again. Start with a 7-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of cardstock and score at 2″ on all for sides. Then you will cut on the score lines on the 7-1/4″ length sides (ref. Video) You should have also seen the cute little baskets I made for the Mantle Gifts for my Holiday Stampin’ Retreat!

The ladies watching LIVE had plenty of ideas they could use these for … Baby Showers, Wedding Showers, Birthday Parties, on the table for the Holiday’s … a teachers Gift or a cute little gift for a co-worker. The possibilities are endless, and that cute little basket is priceless!

I have listed the ingredients below for your shopping convenience. Let me know if you have any questions.

Embossing Paste to Enhance Your Designer Paper

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

We had a discussion at my Stampin’ Retreat this past weekend about Embossing Paste so I’m excited to share the cards from one of my Facebook LIVEs … I shared how you can enhance your designer papers using Embossing Paste and the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks. I figured the masks were in the Gingerbread & Peppermint suite for a reason … so that is where I started!

I also wanted to show you that some of the masks line up pretty nice with some of our other designer papers. Here I used the Peaceful Deer bundle and the Peaceful Prints Designer paper from the Sale-a-bration Catalog (no longer available).

Now join me and watch the video as I show you how easy it is to create these cards! Then I will be sharing the card where I used the Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper!!

I am thrilled to share my next card with you!! I feel in love with the “Angels of Peace” stamp set the moment I saw it. She is so lovely and delicate and these angels can be used for so many different occasions …

The sentiment “Sometimes angels are just good people with kind hearts”… is the second reason I had to have this stamp set. The water washed background of the Beauty of the Earth designer paper was the perfect background for the snowflake mask and the Sparkling Embossing Paste…. and the angel was meant to go with them.

I stamped my angel in Night of Navy and then gently used the Wink of Stella to add some some sparkle to her. I was VERY careful on the wings as I wanted them mostly white, and the wetness of the Stella will smear the Night of Navy ink. On the other hand … I used the Wink of Stella to pull some of the color out of the lines and into her dress to give it that soft blue look.

The greeting was also stamped in Night of Navy and then cut out using the Layering Circle Dies. I also cut a Night of Navy mat to coordinate with her dress and the card base. It all flows so nicely and completes the card.

This angle of the photo is to show you the beautiful texture on this card!! The sparkle in the snowflakes is accented by the Wink of Stella on our Angel. One of my favorite cards that I ahve made in a while!

I invite you to join me tonight at 6 pm Central Time for my Facebook LIVE presentation … we’re getting ready for Christmas!! Click Here to my Linda’s Stampin’ Escape Facebook page.

Have a beautiful day, and take good care ~

Merry & Bright in Polished Pink!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I’m doing a twist on my card today … a simple card to start and then I will gradually add some elements to lift the card to another level. Let’s begin with a little “fun” …. What do you get when you cross the Tidings of Christmas with the Expressions in Ink? A totally non-traditional Christmas card … in “PINK”!!

I began with the stunning Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper in the new Polished Pink that is beautifully entwined with gold foils, so naturally I would use a Gold Foil mat and a Polished Pink card base.

I stamped the greeting in VersaMark and heat embossed it with the Gold Embossing Powder. My greeting comes from the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set. We could leave this card simply as is but, check this out ….

Before I attached the Gold Foil card base, I die cut some of those pretty little starts from the Tidings & Trimmings bundle!! This ads such and elegant touch to our beautiful Expressions in Ink Designer paper.

We went from a simply beautiful non-traditional “PINK” Christmas card to one that is simply stunning! Don’t forget to use the leftover pieces of designer paper to deck out the inside of your card.

Thanks for hanging out with me today!! See, you never know when I’m able to post a “requested” card.

Enjoy and have a beautiful Sunday ~

Road to the Holiday Stampin’ Retreat …

Hello Stampin’ Friends,

Today as we gather for our Holiday Stamping Retreat, I will be sharing a part of it with you. Follow me for a wonderful trip on the road to our Holiday Retreat. Here is the actual view as your drive up to our retreat house…

Photo was taken by Kris H.

We stay at the beautiful Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, WI.  Our house is a 1930 English Manor and nestled beautifully on the lake. This photo was taken during our lunch break at a past retreat … a time set aside so our guests can dine and then explore these beautiful grounds.

This is the view (below) that greets our stampin’ friends as they arrive and enter the house. To the right leads to the stairway that leads to the bedrooms, the living room that is warm and inviting as we sit around the fireplace … another room perfect to snuggle up with a book, and then the screened in porch that allows you a perfect view of the lake.

If you go to the left … you’ll walk through the butlers pantry that is usually stocked with treats and goodies, then into the kitchen where all your delicious meals are prepared. There is also two bedrooms for our guest who prefer not to take the stairs.

The fireplace is adorned with a touch of Christmas Cheer with a hand crafted gift … Each guest gets to take one home with them. We treat them to many little surprises throughout their retreat stay. These little gifts (pictured) are from a past retreat … I cannot share this years Mantle Gift until I know my “Retreat by Mail” Guests get their packages! I don’t want to spoil their surprise.

IMG_20141024_103758

Once our guests are shown their rooms and settle in, we gather around the table and have our first of 5 meals together. We usually have soups & salads on Friday nights, but you never know …. I like to change things up so my repeat attendee’s don’t get bored! That will never happen!

Then it’s off to the stamp room where all their project are cut and ready for them to stamp & assemble … embellishments and envelopes included. The retreat is designed so you can gather with friends, relax and have fun … No stress, but believe me … the cards are still beautiful!

Our stamp session is full of fun, giggles, catching up, making new friends, snackin’ and of course some amazing stamping projects!

After our stamping session we head back to the house and gather around the fireplace for some Hot Chocolate … and ??? Well, you just never know what I have for you! This little “pillow gift” was from our last Holiday Stampin’ Retreat ….

We’ve been waiting 2 years to gather together and I am so excited to be with an amazing group of ladies again!! I hope you have enjoyed the journey of our Holiday Stamping Retreat. Think about joining us for the Spring 2022 Stamping Retreat!!

Thank you for hanging out with me today … Have a great day!

Inspired Thoughts rockin’ the “Blends, Alcohol & Vellum Technique!

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Now I’d like to bring back a technique featuring the “Inspired Thoughts” Bundle … I am excited to share a video and two cards that I created using the amazing “Blends, Alcohol & Vellum” technique! This is such a fun technique and creates amazing backgrounds where no two will look alike. The more you play with it, the more you will be hooked!!

Here is the card that I created in the video, I’ll share another with you later in my post.

I have a few tips to share and then I invite you to watch the video;

  1. Make sure you are using 91% (or higher) Isopropyl Alcohol … the 70% will not work properly.
  2. Your room should be well ventilated due to the Alcohol
  3. A paint brush works great, or you could try your old Aqua Painters. (I like the stability of the brush)
  4. Have paper towel or something to clean your brush off with and absorb excess alcohol on your brush.
  5. Pick colors that coordinate well together as some combinations may get muddy… But have fun experimenting!

I had so much fun sharing this technique last night with my stampin’ friends, that I made even more backgrounds!! I was playing around with some color combinations and thought of a sunset, so I layered my colors and this is what developed …

Cool … right!! I made this card just like the one in the video. My Stampin’ Blends colors were: (from the bottom up) Dark Night of Navy, Dark Highland Heather, Dark Calypso Coral, Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Balmy Blue.

I added a big patch of the Daffodil Delight to create the “sun” area … and once that was created, I used a circular candle holder to trace a circle in that area – wow, doesn’t that look cool!? I also dropped my trees lower, so I had to cut off the bottom, trim the trunks and then glue to bottom back on.

This technique creates such unique background which gives such depth to the card, and then our trees and some really nice texture. Both of these cards were so much fun to create, and I can’t wait to send them out, or give them away as one of my door prizes!!

I want to “Thank you” for spending time with me today, to check out my cards and my video! I’d love to know what you think of this technique, and what colors would you use?

Have a fun and creative day ~

Whimsical Christmas …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

Many of you know I’ve been busy preparing for my upcoming Holiday Stampin’ Retreat next weekend, and while doing so, I had some left over Mint Macaron circles … couldn’t let them go to waste so I paired it up with the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper …

The conventional patterns meet an unconventional color scheme in the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Specialty Series Paper. This paper is a lovely choice for those who want to celebrate the spirit of the season. Images include gifts, trees, snowflakes, and more. And once the holidays are done, use the versatile stripes and tone-on-tone patterns for all of your projects. This papercrafting staple is great scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!

Now let’s take a look at that card ….

So simple yet so darn cute! I turned the circle into an ornament … the greeting comes from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set and is Heat embossed in silver. Friends Like You …

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

In the wise words of Jane Austen: “The evergreen! How beautiful, how welcome, how wonderful the evergreen!” Embrace the everlasting beauty of the evergreen with the Evergreen Elegance Bundle!

This pretty pair of pine products—the Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set and Evergreen Border Punch—boasts beautifully bushy trees, festive phrases, soft touches of snow, and shining stars. While it’s the perfect pick for Christmas crafts, re-imagine and repurpose the set for any season! Stamp a summer night sky scattered with stars, fill a forest with flourishing trees, or watercolor a warm body of water.

Today’s card celebrate the season with friends …

1. Cut a piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (14.9 x 21 cm) and score at 4-1/4″ (10.8 cm). This is your card base.

2. Using the Poppy Parade Classic Stampin’ Pad®, add ink to each tree stamp from the Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set. Then, stamp onto the card front multiple times to create a tone-on-tone forest.

3. On Basic White Cardstock (4-3/8″ x 3-1/8″; 11.1 x 10.5 cm), stamp the solid star stamp three times in Pool Party ink. On the same piece, stamp the “It’s friends like you…” sentiment in Poppy Parade ink.

4. With the Evergreen Border Punch, punch three rows of evergreen trees from a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock. Adhere the rows together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, place them face-up on a piece of scratch paper, then apply ink directly to each row with the Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ Pad®. To do this, swipe the ink pad across the paper until you achieve your desired coverage and color saturation. Once dry, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the trees to the bottom of the Basic White Cardstock.

5. To complete the card, use Stampin’ Dimensionals® to adhere the piece of Basic White Cardstock to the Poppy Parade card base.

Take a peek at how easy it was to make this card ….

I hope you enjoyed the project that I shared with you today. I have a list of the ingredients used for our red card. Let me know if you need any help placing an order or have any questions about your products.

Halloween Hand Sanitizer Gift Box

Hello Stampin’ Friends ~

I had a request to share my “Hand Sanitizer” Holder … I did not have time to re-create it, so I hope you don’t mind that I am sharing the original post.  It includes tips to make this cute Sanitizer Holder!!  Please not that the designer paper and stamp set are no longer available … however, the dies are!!

Let’s begin with the outer wrap.  Start with an 11″ x 3″ piece of cardstock.  Score the cardstock at 4-7/8″ and 6-1/8″ … these measurements will ensure the insert sits nicely in the wrap.  Then punch both ends, this will be used to for your ribbon and to close the top.

Attach a piece of 2-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ of designer paper… I used Monster Bash. We finished off the top edge of the designer paper by attaching a piece of ribbon over it and trimming off the edges.

Stamp your greeting and cut out with a favorite die or punch.  I used the coordinating die from the Spooktacular Bash Bundle and pop it up with the new black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Set your outer wrap aside for now … it’s time to create your inner (inset) piece.  Cardstock should measure 4-1/2 x 2-7/8″ … score at 1″ – 2″ – 3″ and 4″.  Using the smallest of the scallop ovals, place it between the the two score lines closest to the 1/2″ flap. (See photo below).

Once the whole is cut out, you will need to glue the 1/2″ flap to the opposite side to create a box.  The hole needs to be facing up … add glue to the bottom (opposite side with the hole) and set it into the outer wrap between the score lines.  Now you can tuck your Hand Sanitizer into the scallop oval hole.  The Bath & Body Works small hand sanitizers fit perfectly into the oval.

This would make a cute teachers gift, thank you gifts, get well ? Any reason … flu season is coming and why not be prepared and be the cool mom on the block!  This is also a great way to use up some of that designer paper you’ve been hording … lol.

Have some fun creating these cute Halloween gifts for your ghoul friends and then make some more for just for the fun of it … Christmas is coming too!

Thanks so much for joining me today … Let me know if you liked this project, I’d love to hear what you think … just message below.

I also have a supply list below to make your shopping easy, just click on any image for more information or to begin shopping with me.

Have a great day!
